✨ PLATOBER ✨ PLATONIC F/O ASKS - WEEK #1 🍬

I was so torn on if I should do Grigori or Vaati for this, so I just caved and decided to do them both!

📌 How soon and why did you decide to make them an f/o?

Grigori - Before I had even completed Dragon's Dogma, I had assigned Grigori as my main Familial F/O because of how much I adored his character!

For the world he lives in, which is pretty dystopian specifically for himself, the Arisen, and even the Seneschal, Grigori continues to be very strong as a person despite everything. He's perhaps somewhat jaded, but not completely. This is especially evident when he starts to praise the Arisen as the two duke it out for the first and last time during his boss fight, after mocking/belittling them in previous scenes with a clear edge to his voice. He hasn't completely lost himself to despair like others may have before him.

It's that strength and willpower I admire most about Grigori, making him someone I look up to with a lot of admiration :>

(Plus he has so many fantastic quotes!! I tend to repeat the same ones over and over but shoutout to ones like "The hour for turning back is past. The world will have its answer: you or me? Death, or life beyond?" and "Your life belongs now to no other. You've won it by rights... It is yours to use or cast away as you see fit. Remember that...". They are all so great to listen to ingame!)

Vaati - Vaati is definitely one of my oldest Familial F/O's, being only JUST beaten by my dads Draco and Bowen from Dragonheart. Technically he could be my main Familial, but tbh being comforted by your twin brother versus your uncle and father figure have very different weights to them ghdfkjg.

I don't know when I decided to make him an F/O exactly, but I'd argue it would have been around the same time as when I started F/Oing Ghirahim! So, Vaati has been my brother for about 10 years or so (I don't mention it much, but I do strongly associate Vaati and Ghirahim to each other (in the sense that I tend to insert Vaati into something Ghirahim is part of and vice versa because it just feels right)).

As for why I decided to make him an F/O, he just RADIATES little shit twin vibes LMAO. There's something about the way he acts that says to me 'this is a young man who is just starting out as a villain. He knows how to intimidate perhaps, but not how to ACT like a villain'. Which I gleefully mock in the manga because he swaps back and forth from being cold and stoic to HAHA EVERYTHING IS GOING EXACTLY AS PLANNED and it's so funny to see ghdfjkg I adore it so much. He has a general idea of being a villain, just not specifics.

📝 Does your s/i’s presence in the source change your f/o’s story, and if so, how?

Grigori - My stories with Grigori are all AUs so I can’t answer in the context of it being in the world of Dragon’s Dogma, but I can answer for my Genshin AU and my Crossover AU!

In my Genshin AU, Dire (my S/I) is a very positive presence in Grigori’s life and allows him to be able to feel human again, as well as be respected and treated as an equal, rather than as a frightening, otherworldly entity that some believe will bring about the end of the world. Plus, he gets to live his life AS a human again, which he naturally enjoys most of all.

In my Crossover AU, Nowa (my S/I) is also a very positive presence in Grigori’s life! To the point he will gladly put time aside in his day so he can spend it with his nephew~ The two are very close and have a very strong relationship Grigori holds very dear to him. If things were to turn sour, Nowa will typically turn to Grigori for help and advice first, especially since he’s the best to turn to if a fight breaks out between the other characters in my Crossover AU.

Vaati - Much like Grigori, I don’t S/I into the world of Minish Cap/Four Swords but instead into AUs.

In my Spa AU, Ezra (my S/I) is about as chaotic as Vaati is, so they just enable each other hgkjgd. The entire AU exists for fun so it’s not as serious as Grigori’s stories, so I don’t have as much to say, but I do like to think Ezra (despite being as chaotic as Vaati) does act as a moral compass to Vaati and will tell him when to stop if he starts pushing it and is being too cruel to others.

🔮 Would you rather bring your platonic f/o into this universe or travel into their source?

Grigori I love you dearly and so very, very much. But the universe of Dragon’s Dogma scares me on multiple levels ghdkjgjdf. Do I need to detail how unsettling it is when i kill Evil Eyes and the Gazer boss? No thanks.

(Although if I could be safe with Grigori specifically then I don’t think I’d mind too much)

As for Vaati, I wouldn’t mind if I was suddenly in the world of Zelda because those games aren’t as sad as Dragon’s Dogma (unless it’s the world of Link’s Awakening, then I want out ghdkg). Also I could be a minish alongside Vaati as well lmao.

ᨳ- with albedo everything is so tender and sweet, he is really soft when it comes to love. K and albedo are both two nerds who constantly tries to pry the secrets of the world, imprinting ideas on the paper amid sketchy lines . i would call theirs a deep, soft relationship full of love, but even friendship. especially friendship.

sometimes K believes what a soulmate means thanks to him, they are so similiar, and this makes everything so...easy, so funny. it's so relieving when you find someone who shares the same interests or the same things of yours, someone you want to take care of and someone who takes care of you in the same way. you don't feel alone anymore. with him K can be themselves, and in his calm attitude albedo also find the caos which allows them to let their demons and angels free.

Jakob and I have so many common features its not even funny (probably why he's a F/O😅) We both wear glasses, we're both sensitive, we're both creative people, we're both writers, we're both more introverted/awkward/interested in things that the average person is not or has little knowledge of, we are both capable of being brave in the moments when it truly counts, we both get extremely happy when we've been drinking/start laughing and acting really silly, we both love very deeply and would go to extreme lengths for our loved ones, we both have childlike spirits and we like to have fun whenever we can, we are both clever and inventive. I'll lave it there for now, but I am certain I could think of more that would also be backed up in canon (all of these that I've listed are canonically verified traits of Jakob's.)

rose: What’s your f/o’s “love language”?

Jakob's love language is steeped in tentative inexperience and hesitancy. Every touch or look makes his heart race and his palms sweat and his cheeks flush; it gets easier once we've been together for longer. He holds me throughout the night as though he is afraid that if he doesn't, I might vanish in thin air. Jakob likes to be read to. He likes to lay his head in my lap and let me massage his scalp while I read him poems or folk tales of old. Hand holding is exceptionally important to him, especially if he needs extra support or is scared.

palm tree: What’s your and your f/o’s favourite place in the world?

Jakob has several: Any place where Will and I are (we are the most important people in his life), wherever his stories take him to, crunching along a path of fallen leaves in the forest, a cozy inn or a cabin.

azalea: What’s something about you that you didn’t want your f/o to know?

The drastic ups and downs in my moods and how differently I become whenever I am down.

Love. Jakob is driven by love, for me, for his brother, for his writing, etc. He also wants to feel like he serves a purpose within our lives; he wants to mean something to us. Jakob felt as if his brother did not believe in him and always looked down on him for his interests. He wants to feel like he is wanted within the lives of those most important to him and he does not want to feel like an outcast because he is different or has differing view, opinions, ideas, etc.

sage brush: What’s something your f/o doesn’t know, but they want to?

Jakob wants to know more about the world and also to collect knowledge about folklore he hasn’t heard before. He writes them all down, but there are so many he has not heard because travel is so limited to him. He is aware of how vast the world is and sometimes it bothers him to think of all that knowledge passing him by and going to waste.

dandelion: How far would your f/o travel? (For anything, including you?)

Jakob loves to travel; he would go as far as it takes. There is no limit to where he would go for me or for his brother; the two of us are the most important to him and I think that Jakob would be brave enough to do anything for us (though of course neither of us want him going off alone somewhere!)

ivy: Is your f/o interested in history?

Yes! Folklore and history go hand in hand; Jakob gets to indulge in a bit of both wherever one of which is concerned. There are different folktales specific to different countries and locations and the lore he picks up gives him a bit of a history lesson from time to time. Things of old excite Jakob because of all of the historical aspects; he likes to imagine all of the facets of life inanimate objects have witnessed whenever he comes to find they are several hundreds of years old. All of that fascinates him, because a lot of history ties into his stories and writing.

magnolia: How do you and your f/o compare in strength?

I prefer to look at questions like these in terms of strength of character. Jakob knows who he is and he is not ashamed of it; he has always been creative, inventive and has seen things from a different perspective than perhaps his brother would. That is to say, Jakob is the only person (aside form me of course) who never gave up on him. He is secure with who he is, even if that means he does not conventionally “fit”. He does not give up a part of himself in order to mold into a more “accessible” type of person; Jakob will not change who he is or let go of any part of himself to please others.

I am still learning this, however I’m much better than I used to be. I think that Jakob will help me feel more comfortable with who I am and not let me hide any part of the person I am. Jakob is unashamedly himself and that is one quality I admire most in someone.

tulip: Are you and your f/o distant from other couples/your friends/everyone?

The only person we are not distant from is his brother Wilhelm. I don’t think Jakob could stand it if we all were not close. (Will is a platonic F/O of mine because of this.)

Lucida (n.) The brightest star in a constellation. What makes your f/o special to you? What about them makes them shine brighter than everyone else?

I'm going to give this one to Hei cus he's not as well know as my other f/os ( pay no attention to me side glancing at Dabi). Hei is .... a walking paradox of not wanting anyone to be close to anyone yet everyone is attracted to him. He is intellect, stubborn, tactical, funny (but only when he wants to be) and oh so kind. Maybe not nice cus he is mean when he wants to be, but certainly kind. I guess that’s what I love about him.

Plus - he’s a master with knifes and cooking

Plethora (n.) Excess, a large amount. How many total f/os do you have? Do you think you have a lot compared to most people? (Nothing wrong with having a lot of f/os, it’s just cool to see how many some people have!)

At this moment I have 22 f/os - 2 romantic, 7 platonic and 13 familial. I have a lot, especially I think cus I'm still kinda new to the self-shipping but I wouldn't be surprised if more come along.

there are so many f/os who this one could go for- far far too many but the Storyteller will get this one simply for the story of when he tricked a chef into making him and a begger food by claiming to be able to make ‘stone soup’ - it never gets old for me and the story always gets me to smile to some degree

Saudade (n.) the feeling of longing, melancholy, or nostalgia. Have you had any of your f/os for a long time? How long have they been your f/o? Which one have you had the longest?

A lot of my f/os are ones that I have had for quite a few years. That's most likely why a lot of my f/os are from child-centred media, cus I was a kid when I was first introduced to them. I think in terms of who is my oldest that probably Nico. Funnily enough I think that's why I don't post as much on him as I do with like Dabi or Chise, cus he's been with me for so long now, it feels a little bit like when you ask someone what's your favourite colour is, and you give them all these different bright answers- and when they say they though you would say the colour that you always have on instead. He's very dear to me and I know that I'm dear to him too so we both don't feel the urge to have to continuously say it.

After Nico its John an then its Alucard and Klarion as they came around about the same time.

Serendipity (n.) Finding something good without looking for it. Which of your f/os did you fall for without meaning to? Were any of them a surprise to you?

For the majority of my f/os there was no real surprise, nothing more than a short “oh” but platonically speaking Alucard fits in perfectly for this question cus I did not expect to like him as much as I did. He is my utter opposite in so many ways and the first time I watched Hellsing he kinda unnerved me but I really really like him.

I’m gonna go with Warren for these bc I never talk about him even tho I love him? Like he’s so good! Good brother figure. Gonna do these under a read more since it’s a lot:

If they’re your parent(s) and they cook for you, what’s their “signature dish”? Same goes for the reverse: If you cook/You have a parental relationship, what’s your signature dish?Okay so Warren and I’s relationship is a sibling type relationship so… yeah lol. He makes a really good chicken parm though.

What’s your general relationship? Supportive? Goofy? Go around gossiping about people you hate?Pretty supportive! Warren gives pretty good advice and is one of the more level headed X-Men. Also he might point out fashion mistakes while we’re out in public, it’s actually pretty hilarious when he does.

How do they support you when you’re down? With advice, emotional support, both, or are they a bit awkward and neither?Warren sits down with me and lets me ramble about everything. He tries to give advice when he can, but he always lets me cry if I need to without being judged.

How did you meet, and when?When I first came to the mansion! After Hank had patched me up, Jean and Scott took me on a tour of the mansion where I met the rest of the X-Men (only Logan and Jubilee weren’t there yet, they came in a little after), and Warren was in the kitchen hanging with Rogue and Remy.

Do you ever do dangerous or illegal things with them?Okay, Warren doesn’t really do anything dangerous or illegal (that’s more Remy’s speed), and if he did he certainly wouldn’t let me do it with him lol. He does stupid things sometimes, but not before telling me not to do it first.

What kinds of presents do you get them?As a joke one year I got him a bird watching book. He wasn’t thrilled lmao. But for real gifts I get him a lot of grooming tools. He likes to look as presentable as possible at all times. Also, he seems to like the ties I get for him!

For familial relationships, are you adopted or biological family?None of us were actually adopted, but Warren kind of adopted me as a younger sister. He pretends we’re brother and sister whenever we go out.

What was your first impression?I thought he was kind of cool at first! He was pretty nice and didn’t ask too many questions about the injuries I had after arriving, which I appreciated. He even let me touch his wings after I asked if they were real.

What’s their dynamic with your romantic f/o, if it applies?Warren and Kurt get along pretty well! They team up on missions quite a bit and work together fairly well. Also Warren has given both Kurt and I advice on asking the other out.

How protective are they of you?Just like all the X-Men are, Warren is very protective of me. He doesn’t threaten people like Logan or Rogue will, but he usually shields me with his wings and will fly me out of the situation if he’s able to.

What kind of outings do you usually go on/What do you like to do together?Warren and I do a lot of hanging out at the mansion to be honest. When we go out in public, we’re usually with some of the others. But we have gone shopping a few times as just the two of us, and he’s taken me to some of his family events where he had to have a “date”. It helps him to have someone to pick on all the snooty rich people with.

Are they the kind who borrows your stuff and forget to give it back?Nah, if Warren needs to borrow something he’s good at giving stuff back. That’s Kitty and Bobby you gotta watch out for lol.

If you have the same clothing size, do you share clothes?I don’t share clothes with any of the guys aside from Kurt to be honest.

Do you play pranks on eachother?Warren isn’t the type to play pranks, but one time Bobby and I did the whipped cream on the hand thing. He chased us down and dumped the can onto Bobby’s head while holding me in a headlock though.

For sibling relationships, what arguments do you get into?We once had an argument on what was the best coffee one day. We often argue on food and drink brands. It’s dumb but it’s funny, especially when his wings start puffing up.

Do you have a secret handshake?Not really, he just kind of nudges me whenever he sees me.

How do they act when someone insults you?“Excuse you, but that’s no way to speak to a lady. Now apologize.”He’ll just keep repeating that until they do apologize while starring daggers into them.

How do they act when YOU insult you?He will stare at me and not say anything until I apologize to myself and say something nice about myself.

If you text, what do they send you? Memes? Selfies? 3 AM revelations?Alright, I’m the one who texts him dumb shit like pictures of birds I see with the caption “hey I saw you on 45th street what were you doing there” and he texts me back with a disapproving selfie or goes “you need to stop hanging around Bobby so much”

What kind of advice do they give you?Basically he talks sense into me. He helps me look at my issues from a logical standpoint.

What’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve done in front of them?I can’t think of anything specific, I do embarrassing shit all the time lets be real. Maybe when I jumped over a fence to go pet a dog and ended up falling flat on my face. He laughed at me for a minute before helping me up.

What nicknames do you have for them? What nicknames do they have for you?I call him big bird to mess around with him. He calls me ankle biter.

For familial f/os, do you live together?The X-Men and I all live in the same house so yes lol.

What kind of things do they teach you?Aside from how to fight, Warren taught me a bit about fashion, even though I’m still a fashion disaster and dress like it’s 1987.
