oh absolutely! I doubt that he'd make an SMP again lowkey though like the dsmp wasn't made with the intent of being a lore-heavy server and as much as I loved lore and appreciated the storyline in late 2020-21 I don't really wish for it to come back 😭 I first started watching the smp when it was just the bunch of them dicking around and that's the kind of content it feels as though the biggest dsmp players want back instead of constantly being hounded on to do lore yk?

Its so fucking crazy thinking of the state of mcyt back in 2020. The sleepytwt wars were just the start, and product of dteams growth because really it was a popularity contest back then and the first cc who made a mistake was going to get used for their low blow arguments.

i will never not have a grudge against 2020 mcyt fandom it was kind of rancid as all hell. though it certainly didn't get better lmao

like you say popularity contest but so much of it was just obvious abject jealousy against dream for gaining the popularity he did in the time that he did and picking apart every little thing and uplifting their guys to be moral paragons in comparison and patting themselves on the back for how comparatively "unproblematic" they were. when bedtimetwt happened it sure was the sbi side of twitter that was mad abt being associated with the dirty dream stans. sbiers didn't even want their guy on the dream smp - they wanted a separate sleepy boys inc smp and were pretty vocal about how annoying the stupid dream stans were and how they didn't want to share a space with thm etc. like, the superiority complex and the moral circlejerk and the uplifting their guys to put dream + the dream team down has always been a thing. (before people knew abt dream being nd, there were sooo many posts that i saw centered around how dream would totally be ableist to technoblade's adhd and anxiety in situations like the duel and mcc 8, Just Trust Me Guys). it's laughable to consider the fandom climate as it is in the current day as something new, imo. the self-superior attitude has always been there! the whole time! like, congrats to the people who are new and continuing the same trend or the people who have been doing so the whole time, but you guys aren't revolutionary for joining the same circlejerk, lmao.

So, to begin with, I wanna make it clear that I’m somewhat neutral on this topic, because I’m still a fan of both sides of this. :) I’m also a relatively new person to the fandom, so I cannot speak on anything that took place before late sept. 2022 when I started introducing myself to this community because I’m not well versed on it.

To begin this, I gotta go back all the way to face reveal and twitchcon time frame, the last time Dream and Quackity publicly interacted with each other on their own volition. It was already pretty obvious that after the event and the Drituation, Quackity started drifting away from Dteam, since their interactions literally became nonexistent, and while it is true that you do not have to always interact online to SHOW that you’re friends, it really speaks for itself when you answer everyone else’s tweets and comments except for a Select Group of People. Then after radio silence came the Quackity and Wilbur wine stream, in which George called Quackity and even Dream was mentioned, but even then, when we were all holding onto dtqk crumbs, Quackity literally showed No Interest on wanting to know what Wilbur was saying about Dream’s music video, people used that clip to show that “loudduo was still alive” but you can tell that he’s Not Interested. At All. Then when George called, Quackity was being distant, even as they joked around, went as far as to decline his call when Wilbur hung up on him. Although it Can be argued that the stream was mainly Quackity and Wilbur and they wanted things their way, not taking that away from them, just something to keep in mind.

Dream is mentioned at 2:34:30 and George called at 2:50:20

So, Quackity is distancing himself, although Dream didn’t interact with him as much, Sapnap and George did and got ignored, each and every time, and it was so obvious too. That goes on until the time of the Squidcraft Games in which Quackity DID interact with dtqk a lot more, but even then, it was an event with around 200 other streamers, to call that an interaction is kind of weak, especially when Quackity is a reserved person and does not air his personal Situations. Then when QSMP is announced, Dream shows his support privately and reveals that he also had a similar idea in the works, and whether it was the intention or not, it does look like he’s trying to deflect the attention from Quackity’s project, but at the same time, Dream gets demonized for almost everything he does, if he hadn’t cleared the air about that, he would’ve been called a copycat and everything under the sun, so I get why he did it.

Putting all of that aside, I feel like this all started snowballing when Dream posted that the USMP would be the first multilingual smp in the world and then Quackity posted the same thing for the QSMP, and now as more information and proof comes out that Quackity’s server IS the first multilingual SMP in the world (as he now has added Portuguese speakers) since he had been talking about and hinting his ideas as early as 2022 of my knowledge (I’m not taking into account when he told Wilbur he WANTED to do something to unite both communities he grew up in, only when he started asking people if they would be interested in joining his server) it’s more noticeable that absolutely no communication had been going on between these two for a While, and I also don’t think Dream did take the idea away because even when Quackity hinted the QSMP’s launch, nobody thought it would be that but rather, we all thought it’d be either merch or music, and I myself saw that. I don’t think it’s wrong of Dream to want to do a multilingual SMP either after seeing how well received the Squidcraft Games interactions were, but it just turned into a petty war of who was first, which at the end of the day, doesn’t fucking matter.

Then The Mod came out, and I apologize for forgetting the name but it was a shitshow and I’d rather not remember it. First of all, Quackity did not handle that shit correctly, he lacked an apology, empathy, and sincerity in his statement, saying “I’ve been told the mod is quite offensive so it will be getting removed” is not enough when people are being affected by it, because even if it was used before, even if no one had complained about it before, he’s the owner a server that promotes cultural union, and if a part of your community that practices a culture you’ve wrongfully represented says that they’re not comfortable with the depiction of a hostile mob that has been ridiculed by streamers in YOUR server, you LISTEN to them, because at the end of the day, your audience is your EVERYTHING. Period. Dttwt starts getting attacked and called sensitive and snowflakes over it, that’s when the harassment really starts, and let’s be honest, over the past few months, as Quackity got more popular, his stans just got worse and worse, they’re the most parasocial I’ve ever seen a fandom act, and I‘ve been in armytwt and dttwt. So dttwt gets harassed, and no response from Quackity at the racism that a good portion of his fans are implementing, whether at this point him and Dream have beef or not, your fans represent you, even if you don’t like controversies and drama, your fans attacking anyone and everyone they don’t agree with or think are less than them is very VERY harmful, and should be addressed. While it is true you cannot control a big fan base, and NOBODY, EVER, said that he was going to, addressing negative concerns about your fan base is ESSENTIAL, to show that you CARE about the well-being of those being harassed.

Honestly, it’s a blur after that, I’m pretty sure that what happened next was Dream posting snaps with dates that showed how he was also planning the USPM in early March, which was Very Intentional to show mainly drantis that he didn’t just pull it out of his ass, but it backfired more after streamers such as Wilbur, Philza, and others started promoting the “QSMP is the FIRST multilingual server in the world” and let’s be fucking for real, Quackity started it as a bilingual server, at the end of the day, the only two communities he grew up in was an hispanic and an american one, if he started promoting it as a multilingual server after its launch, then it’s completely different. Anyway, Wilbur and Philza knew EXACTLY what they were doing and how it was going to be perceived.

And that leads us to the fucking Tweets. I’m gonna be honest, Dream should’ve NEVER aired this shit out, at least not something so private and personal such as Quackity literally ghosting him and mutual friends. Not only because us as fans do not need to know, but also because something you should never do, especially as someone so big as him and that has been on the internet for a long time, is be vulnerable online. NEVER. I’m not saying he shouldn’t have addressed the doxxing and harassment situations, of course not, what I mean is: he shouldn’t have mentioned Quackity, at all. It was unnecessary and this I will give to some Q stans, it socially pressures Quackity to respond to him, which is very shitty in my personal opinion. He should’ve kept his tweets about the doxxing, about how his family’s been harassed and how the drama surrounding them is a dumb reason to start a fan war. That’s it. I know he meant well, because the tweet is very vulnerable (THATS THE FUCKING PROBLEM), but it just caused the drift between communities to deepen.

And also, Quackity did not address ANYTHING, but instead, streamed as if nothing is going on. I don’t wanna know his opinion on Dream, I don’t give a single FUCK, I wanted him to address the fact that due to the harassment his fans put others through people’s lives were endangered, not only Dream’s and his family’s (although it is not directly Q’s fault, the rampant hatred from his fandom did amplify the issue and caused him to get doxxed again, which is really fucking shitty and disgusting; not only that, I’ve seen people say that Dream BLAMED Quackity for it, which he did not do, and that it’s not a big deal because he’s been doxxed before, WHICH IS ALSO NOT OK) but also other stans from dttwt who were doxxed and even stalked outside of twitter and had to get involved with the authorities. Over Minecraft servers???? It’s fucking insane, and both of them are in the wrong; Quackity for not addressing it and acting as if everything is ok, and even PRAISING his fans, and Dream for airing out personal issues between Quackity and him that did not NEED to be public especially because Quackity IS a reserved person.

I still stan both Quackity and Dream, and I hope with the entirety of my soul for them to either work it out or fucking block each other already, I don’t care anymore. One more thing, majority of Q stans are fucking immature and parasocial as fuck, and a good part of dttwt as well, we’re all in the same fucking shithole anyways so.

why mcyttwt does not think some (if not most) of the time when it comes to mcc

if i post this in twitter, i’d surely get hated upon but someones gotta have to say this one day. also this does not target to mcytblr!!! this rant is more of towards mcyttwt!!!

remember how mcyt was so chill before all of this shit? how we would watch our favorite minecraters when the community was so small? or how mcc was an event that both ccs and fans can have some fun and entertainment once per month? and that was only last year too. now look at the new generation of mcyt fans and see why some of the old fans dont really associate the new ones.

as a fan of the old gen mcytbers like DanTDM, SkyDoesMinecraft, Aphmau and CaptainSparklez. heck im a fan of pewds’ minecraft series before dream or tommy or ranboo or the new gen of mcyt ccs blew up (a year before them if im correct), and we dont see drama or bad shit all the time when it comes to their content.

now compare that to the new gen where every single fucking day, a bored fan or anti would post shit drama in twitter where some of the people from twitter moved to tumblr just to not get a headache from the batshit craziness mcyttwt brought forth. and it just snapped more when the mccp21 rolled in.

heres some of my takes about the mccp21 issue:

1) “there’s a lack of representation of lgbtq+ in the teams!!!”

heres something to tell yall about that. scott doesnt have a fucking choice. scott smajor has told time and time again, WEEKS before the announcement of teams, that there are certain requirements and limitations to mccp21 thus there will be difficulty in choosing whos entering or whos not. limitations and requirements such as it will be streamed on youtube or how streamers with twitch contracts aren’t allowed to stream or (god bless scott’s good heart) scott not allowing some of the lgbtq+ streamers in joining the special event due to wanting them to have a chance to stream and experience their first mcc (so to those who said that ranboo should have been in mccp21, shut up ‘cuz scott wanted genderman to have fun streaming his first mcc but cant due to ranboo being a well-known twitch streamer). to those who complained that ant and velvet should be in the mcc, stop being selfish and do some actual research on why scott didn’t include them. a simple question to those two’s fans would answer that they can’t make it due to them camping for a week which within those days is the mccp21. they’re having time to themselves, not wasting it on a minecraft championship.

take in the consideration that, oh i dont know, not a lot of lgbtq+ ccs applied to the event? its not a free invite championship (in fact, mcc has always been like that), it’s an applied with the sufficient and correct requirements kind of event. the artist who created the icons from the previous mcc for the teams said that scott let in some of the new ccs in last minutes due to lack of applicants not meeting the requirements thus not having custom artworks for the teams if they want to announce the teams in time.

2.) “there’s no lesbians or trans in the teams >:(((”

sadly enough, there’s not much of the players from the lgbtq+ community but to say there’s no trans people in mccp21 is utterly false. by definition, trans mean denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex. other genders such as non-binary, genderfluid, androgyne, bigender, gender expansive all fall under trans. you define yourself with the gender you personally chose and comfy with from you birth gender. so saying there’s no trans in the teams when there are players from the event like eret or sqaishey who are nb and genderfluid respectively are there to also represent not only the sexuality but also the gender identity of others??? like c’mon, please make sense mcyttwt.

also, while its sad to not see lesbians, please know that lgbtq+ doesn’t strictly be defined by lesbians. ffs, lgbtq+ literally means Lesbians Gays Bisexuals Transgenders and Questioning (or Queer but im not too sure about that one) which means that there are still other representatives for the community in the event.

3) “technoblade is in the event?!!! WHAT THE FUCK, HES A HOMOPHOBE/LESBIPHOBE-”

utter clowns, toxic twitter users are. do you really think that scott smajor, an openly gay man, would let a supposed “homophobe/lesbiphobe” in an event that focuses in supporting the lgbtq+ community? do you hear yourself? do you even do research where the joke he made was when he was the same age as me and it was based on a historical article back in WW2? or how he passionately supports the community especially the lesbians because a lesbian couple complimented him to which kickstart his confidence? the man willingly went to this mcc event despite being flamed a lot in twitter because he (and everyone) knows that his chat, his fans and supporters, are literal millionaires. if you saw a stream from foolish where he auctioned canonical characters for funs, a techno fan donated thousand of dollars to get technoblade, and that’s only one fan, now imagine a hundreds of thousands of them.

like it or not, technoblade has always been open about his support to the community, especially that majority of his fanbase are from the same community that mcyttwt allegedly swore that technoblade hates.

4) “since this mccp21 is pointless because theres no dteam, quackity, punz or (insert cc name), let’s have a watch party of the previous mccs to spite mccp21!!!” “let’s hope (insert cc name) stream on the 26th so mccp21 doesnt have the same amount of viewership like before!!!” “where are (insert cc name)??? gosh, this mcc is so boring without them!!!”

shut up shut up shut up shut up shut the actual fuck up. are you really seriously hearing yourself? are you willing and proudly boycotting a once in a year special event that is seriously needed by the lgbtq+ community? are you that cruel and selfish to sacrifice a project that helped tons of people just for your sick entertainment and desires? are you that evil to stop others from enjoying and donating to the trevor project? are you that inconsiderate of other ccs that aren’t part of dsmp and calling them boring? and for what? because your favorite cishet streamer isn’t there? oh booofuckinghoo! you’re so fucking petty to even post about this kind of tweets in public.

(edit: did yall honestly thought that without your favorite streamers that the mcc is not worth watching because they aren't there? well let me tell you, im a ranboo fan. ive watched him when he first entered the dsmp and watched him spinning in his unicorn chair for 5 minutes. the boo community waited for so many months for genderman to join mcc yet we didn't even do that kind of disgusting action and behavior every time he isn't in mcc. 8 months. that's how long ive watched him. ive waited 8 months for him to be in the event yet i still watch other povs like tommy's, puffy's, wilbur's, and etc., because it's fun and entertaining to watch them despite the beloved not participating in the games.

if you're that spoiled to not even watch mcc because (insert cc whose not part of mccp21 name here) isn't part of the roster then you most likely have a one dimensional humor because there will always be someone more funny and entertaining than them. i like dsmp don't get me wrong, but i found parrot's school smp funnier than dsmp yet you don't see me insulting both series, do you? learn to keep yourself if you're calling ccs as boring or dull or not entertaining enough due to not having the same big platform as the dsmp members.)

you don’t deserve to call yourself a fan if you’re doing this kinds of actions. in fact, people like you should be kicked out from the mcyt community because your kind of people are the reason why we look so bad from the outside. your toxic and self-entitled to these content creators are the reason why famous ccs like sbi, purpled, tubbo and almost ranboo left twitter/implied strict rules to their subtwts. you drove out an entire friend group that tons of fans found comfort in from the platform and you still have the audacity to this kind of shit? honestly, just leave before you give me a headache.

what im sayin’ is that mcyttwt is one of the worst, if not THE worst, subtwts out of the other subtwts in twitter. having no actual research or evidences or spreading false information is common in twitter where you would have to take what they said with a micro size grain of salt. mcyttwt already ruined the fun and spirit of mcc during its comeback in mcc14 due to the glitch and beta testing shit (ey i still stand for the ranboo beta testing but i know that will be worthless since theres hints of him joining soon in mcc15). if you’re still in mcyttwt, i suggest to get out of there while you still can. we’ll never know if there’s a bigger shitstorm than this in the mcyttwt that may happen in the future.

edit! hi bella again, ive been told by a polite and cool user that not all people from mcyttwt are toxic and/or cruel. im going to clear something up here. ive written this during the heat of the announcement of mccp21 teams. so there's a lot of complains and/or entitled people in the app (you can even see it in my previous post too if you want evidences!) that gave off mostly negative vibes towards the event.

ive seen the cool ones who actually took the consideration for scott's side and the criticism of the lack of representation of other communities within the lgbtq+ umbrella (ive even share some parts of it above so im also a bit upset to the lack of numbers in the community). and some of them are correct about recruiting lgbtq+ creators in youtube but! like i said, it's an applied event and not invitational one, so its up to that content creator if they want to join or not. the amount of cishet in the roster are just those who want to support the cause and/or backups/stand-ins in case scott and noxcrew can't find enough ccs in time!

just wanna clear this up because mcyttwt these days are covered by really cringe fans (ive noticed a pattern of them mostly new ones but there are still awesome new fans (like my irl friend who just joined this year) within the community) that covered the good ones where they enjoy, have fun and share some neat ideas and thoughts to the community within the platform!

when i said to get out of the mcyttwt while you still can, i meant to get out of there to avoid drama (that is really small contrast those who really need to address the issue) and take a break from it. it's still your choice if you want to be surround by it or not or if you want to come back to the app. all im saying is to buckle up for the shitstorm cuz this is not the last time that the twitter side of mcyt will cause negativity to the community.

Dream probably met you through one of his friends, the friend being Sapnap. You were both from the Nether. However, you both weren't physically alike. One of your notable features were the horns that stook out of your head. They reminded him, instantly, of Bad. He was probably hesitant about approaching you at first, given that while Bad may be one of his friends, he's a demon he's[Dream] known for years. But when Sapnap had reassured him that you weren't like the other hostile creatures of the Nether, he agreed to let you roam the lands of Dream smp.

He probably ends up catching feelings when he sees you sparring with Sapnap, almost losing until you managed to strike Sapnap's sword out of his hand. He sees that you have a good potential for fighting alongside him. So when he asked you to join his side, you agreed and battled along him. While he caught feelings, he felt guilty, he didn't want to come between you and Sapnap, but when Sapnap had reassured him that you and him were just really good friends, and he didn't see you that way, he felt confidence course through his veins.

When he askes you out, and you say yes, he swears there's no other man on the planet who's as happy as he is.

Yeah, you're the demon, but damn is Dream one in bed. He's got you dumb, feeling so incredibly vulnerable. His fingers dig into your skin, leaving scratches that, iinstead of hurting, drive your pleasure up. He's got you fucked and numb<3.

If you're a demon with wings, he might ask to touch them, sometimes poking at your horns. You're so different and interesting, whatever insecurities you have about yourself turns out to be things George is absolutely siked with. You're probably the first to start having feelings, you'd never felt accepted the way you did with him, he made you feel so many different things at once. When he begins to reciprocate these feelings, it's when he realizes the reason why he shows up around the lands more. He's usually asleep, or just away.

You might confess your feelings for him at a flower field, sitting a top a hill. You'd felt incredibly nervous, the feeling digged in your stomach. George didn't seem like the type to be interestes in dating, so it really was a shocker when you found out he also shared these feelings with you.

Lazy sex with George is common, he might be fucking lazily into you, it may not sound good but he'd make sure to prove that wrong, or you're the one riding him. Might pull at your wings, more likely if they are sensitive. Considering that your a literal demon, things may get pretty heated, high stamina for you, you could be riding this man for hours. Everything about you had entranced him. Nowadays, you two were in a tight and strong relationship. Usually causing, harmless, havoc across the nations. Running before you would get into trouble.

When you two would spar, as a way to build skill, he would sometimes flirt as a way to get you distracted. Which would end up working, since his words would have you flustered.

Sex with Sapnap in the nether? Yes. You can bet that this man will pull at your tail, a thing that is especially to happen if it's sensitive. About the 'fucking in the nether' thing, how does that not sound inducing? Imagine Sapnap has you in a pool of lava, and he's just railing you, you're arms rest against the netherrack, Sapnap's just buried inches deep inside of you. The boiling lava added to the feeling of Sapnap's treatment. By the end of it, you're completely wasted on sex. When you get out, all you feel is a dribbling line of hot cum running down your thighs. Sapnap had on that agitating grin, you didn't feel bothered enough to say something about it though. You just wanted to get home and rest in his arms.

Wild speculation, but sometimes I wonder if like, because the dsmp didn't really start as a narrative, and a lot of fans don't nessecarily enter it expecting a narrative, but then there is one and the fandom is really discourse heavy and everyone is sort of excpeted to have an opinion while maybe not expecting to form one from the begining or not having a ton of experience with narrative in a way that would "expect" them to have an opinion or not take things at face value??, I don't know if I explained that well at all... and I don't really even think thats right nessecarily... but like wow sometimes some of the takes about power and government and villany...

Honestly, it makes sense!!!

I think something interesting is like.... looking at how animatics have shaped the like tone and culture of the fandom essentially. Like, an interesting fact that I didn't really fully grasp until SUPER recently is like...

c!Wilbur out the gate admits he is manipulating c!Tommy. Like his first youtube video on the Dream SMP he admits his goal is to manipulate c!Tommy and people like c!Tommy into helping him achieve a potion ("drug") empire to monopolize on potions because there were a lot of people on the server who like to min-max, which is to put all of your effort into this one specific skill essentially. so like... i know minecraft doesnt have a skill tree but if it did, it would be putting all your points into that one specific branch of a skill tree. So he wanted to exploit the labor of all the TommyInnits to.... maintain a Potion Empire.

THIS IS A LONG POST BC I GOT CARRIED AWAY SO BUCKLE UP

And I don't think a lot of the fandom who joined later on knows this. I certainly didn't until like a week or so ago? Like... I knew c!Wilbur had been manipulative from the start because I'm a mod of (shameless self promo incoming) @dsmpanalysis and we have a lot of different POVs in that mod team and discord and we talk about it really frequently. I joined the fandom as someone who was really big on L'manburg ESPECIALLY crimeboys, and have turned into.... *gestures vaguely to my blog*

And ngl I owe a lot of it to @1-michibiki-1 in terms of c!Dream "Apologism" but all of the mods there have expanded my thoughts and views on the storylines of this narrative.

My application consisted of like largely essays about like... how I think Dream was the villain but he was meant to be the villain because you don't get any insight into his character WHICH.... IS A FAIR ASSUMPTION AT FIRST GLANCE. People are easily villainized when you cannot get a glimpse into their thought process. It's easy to dwindle someone down into this flat character and starting out I knew Dream didn't stream the SMP on purpose.

And I personally came to the conclusion of "Oh! So Dream is supposed to be the villain." However as the story continued and I learned more about what Dream went through I began to realize that... it's more than likely a form of a red herring. My opinions on this were immediately solidified when I watched Ranboo's 2 MIL stream because both Ranboo AND Dream agree on enjoying red herrings.

There have been MANY times were Dream has said that c!Dream is a complex character and he's not a wholly evil guy and there have been times where the narrative has honestly just proved that.

Anyways, what's important though was that... I learned most of this from other people who were more focused on c!Dream rather than myself. Eventually I shifted from c!Tommy to c!Ranboo and c!Techno after c!Tommy betrayed c!Techno and I began to realize.... everything I learned before hopping in wasn't exactly what it seemed.

Part of this is because I'm older, I heavily identify with c!Techno's sense of loyalty and philosophies on government, but I especially identify with the anguish c!Techno voiced in... a lot of lore but especially the lore around Doomsday.

I'm not 16 anymore. I don't always feel wronged by adults, or older people in my case, whenever they absolutely have done something wrong by me, but I do feel wronged by my close friends. I also felt like c!Tommy's sense of loyalty didn't line up with mine after what felt like him constantly flip-flopping and refusing to understand c!Techno's morals on government didn't line up with his.

In short, it was easier to identify with Tommy in these animatics versus in the actual stream content because c!Tommy is played by a 16 year old. I'm not a teenager and my line of thinking doesn't entirely line up with people that age anymore. It's harder to place myself in the same shoes of someone's OC who is played closer to their actual age, because I'm not that age.

Regardless, I was still on the c!Dream is a villain train. I wasn't ever like... c!Dream is repulsive I hate him, but I was like omg hot villain lad go brrr.

Even when the first like... mellohi, panic room, Ranboo lore stream popped up I thought "Oh! c!Ranboo corruption arc?"

And I was excited because I really wanted this shy, nervous character to turn into villain buddies with his good pal c!Dream. I'm a total sucker for villains and corruption arcs and all that good shit.

SO I STARTED GETTING REALLY INTERESTED IN ENDERSMILE. I'VE BEEN ON ENDERSMILE SQUAD OUT THE GATE. NOT THE SAME WAY I AM NOW, BUT I'VE ALWAYS WANTED THEM TO TEAM UP.

So... upon not really keeping up with c!Dream and being relatively??? indifferent? I don't think I started arguments on c!Dream back then, but I might have. But I remember like... starting to participate more whenever c!Dream came up and looking more into Dream's character BUT ESPECIALLY TALKING WITH OUR SERVER'S C!DREAM SPECIALIST MICHI ABOUT DREAM A LOT MORE.

And because Michi has been a watcher since day one and was a DTeam fan rather than a SBI fan, she was able to provide me with more information on how the server worked pre-Tommy but especially pre-Wilbur.

Now, you could definitely argue well Michi probably has clear bias but it made sense to me when I looked back on how the storyline had been constructed and was going along, and everyone in the server talks a lot about our own biases and how we want people to maybe not lean so hard on them. Michi would also provide like anecdotes on what had happened and I'm sure links were probably provided at one point but the point was I felt like Michi had no reason to lie or manipulate how the story was told and if she did, eventually someone would have pointed it out because... Group of like... right now it's around 20 or more analysts but I don't remember how many at the time there were. POINT BEING, WE'VE ALL GOT POINTS TO PROVE AND IN MY EXPERIENCE NOT MANY OF US HAVE BEEN SHY TO PROVE THEM.

So if anyone ever had any differing opinions they would be talked about and we literally had and still have discussions.

REGARDLESS.... I DIDN'T FACT CHECK IN DEPTH BECAUSE I THOUGHT PEER REVIEW WAS ENOUGH WHEN YOU HAVE LIKE HOURS UPON HOURS OF STREAMS TO WATCH.

Anyways. Eventually I started paying closer attention and looking more into c!Dream lore but only recently have I started to triple check before speaking about c!Wilbur lore because I know everyone has biases and while I did trust everyone's thoughts and analysis in the discord, whenever I make essays I typically like it to be largely air tight and if theres a mistake, I want it to be because I forgot not because I just trusted what was said. Plus, I wanted to get down to the specifics of how Wilbur had always started with manipulation on the mind.

SO I WATCHED HIS FIRST VIDEO ON THE DREAM SMP.

AND WHAT I WAS NOT BY ANY MEANS EXPECTING WAS WILBUR TO SAY WORD FOR WORD, VERBATIM,

"SO WHY DON'T I START AN INDUSTRY WHERE I USE THE TOMMYINNITS OF THE WORLD TO WORK FOR ME, TO CREATE THINGS THAT THE MIN-MAXERS OF THE WORLD WILL WANT."

Like... this is in no way an attempt to like hardcore villainize c!Wilbur like everyone does Dream, it's just more so to like REALLY outline how far off a lot of fandom interpretation of c!Wilbur is....

Because of SBI focused animatics.

Now, when I joined I watched A LOT of animatics that really highlighted like... Wilbur being this self-loathing JD-esque, "I destroyed it because I had to because the world was against me because no one loved us, Tommy" type of character. At least... that's what it came across as.

And it definitely highlighted the fact that Tommy was a victim, which he is. He is undoubtedly a victim and no not even any dream apologist can change my mind otherwise. Tommy, despite being an instigator sometimes, didn't deserve the abuse he received.

But these animatics never shown the fact that c!Wilbur started L'manburg as a shady ploy to exploit people like c!Tommy and vilify c!Dream so he could have power.

And that was easy because Dream and Tommy had wars before. They had spars and pranks and here's the plan to take back my disks and here's the plan to out smart the thieving little child etc etc.

And all of the animatics I watched never mentioned this. Neither did the recaps though. The recaps gave the events flat out, there didn't sound like there was bias, and honestly I don't really know if there was rather than like... a lack of nuance. And it's hard to provide a recap with that much nuance in a short period of time for a youtube video, to be perfectly fair.

However, this creates a perfect formula for entirely rewriting the history of a server. c!Wilbur quite literally fucking succeeded TO A META LEVEL. He slandered and ran smear campaigns against Dream and like he even does that with Sapnap in the beginning. But what's crazy is that it transferred over into the meta! Most of this fandom understands Wilbur as a victim of mental illness, and yeah maybe? He definitely wasn't mentally well by the end of pogtopia, but he never started out with honorable intentions. L'manburg was never a victim, only its citizens. The TommyInnits of the world.

I just think it's like... such an interesting case study. Because this is like... an opinion like shared by at least half of the fandom, but the vilifying of c!Dream is shared by MOST of the fandom I would argue. Which is like even more crazy for me because that was c!Wilbur's goal!!!

LIKE I GO INSANE WHEN I THINK OF THIS BECAUSE HIS REACH IS JUST TOO POWERFUL. HE'S NOT EVEN ENTIRELY REAL, JUST A MANIPULATIVE PERSONA OF SOME BRITISH GUY.

And I mean... maybe people who have watched Wilbur's video on the SMP still maintain this idea that Wilbur wasn't always the bad guy, but honestly... I wouldn't be surprised if their introduction was still an animatic. Like bias is hard to check and I'm not going to lie I could have sworn I watched both Wilbur's AND Tommy's video on the SMP in the beginning and yet I STILL was a ride or die for tragic yet on some level still honorable Wilbur and a resilient Tommy.

Like... upon watching Wilbur's first video... possibly again I was surprised because I thought I did watch it like right before I even started watching the streams and yet I was still so invested in c!Wilbur as this tortured anti-hero.

It took 6 months of... not being in an echo chamber, full of multiple different people of different ages, different stream POVS, and people who joined the fandom at different points in time.

IDK IF THIS WAS EVEN ENTIRELY RELEVANT IT JUST FELT TANGENTIALLY RELEVANT AND THIS WAS SOMETHING I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT FOR A HOT MINUTE AFTER LIKE WATCHING WILBUR'S FIRST VIDEO AGAIN.

TLDR;

SBI CENTRIC ANIMATICS HAD A LASTING AFFECT ON THIS FANDOM AS IT'S HARD TO GO BACK AND ACTUALLY CHECK THE NARRATIVE FOR SOLID FACTS FOR YOUR OWN INTERPRETATION BASED ON THE FACT THAT THIS NARRATIVE SPANS OVER HUNDREDS OF HOURS WORTH OF TWITCH STREAMS.

It’s really clear when people who don’t watch Sneeg regularly talk about him. He doesn’t like vanilla Minecraft at all, has said so many times, and most of the reasons he plays on Origins and modded servers is because he wants to hang out with his friends. He’s specifically said he isn’t super into the Minecraft servers unless he’s actively playing with friends so it makes sense for him to not want to be on the Dream SMP.

Also, if you watched Sneeg you’d know how much of a nightmare the dsmp frogs are in his chat whenever he’s on Origins or another member is on Origins and they want him to join. They spam incessantly and he’s stopped playing Origins one day because of how irritating they got. It’s not a holier than thou attitude to rightfully dislike the stans that disrupt the chat he’s carefully cultivated, and it’s disingenuous to act like he only hates dteam stans. He already has to teach the chat hoppers from Origins manners since their streamers aren’t bothering most of the time and joining the Dream SMP would only make it worse. Is Sneeg sarcastic, harsh, and blunt? Yes. But he’s not condescending or self righteous in his opinions on this. He has many negative experiences that have shaped how he views dream smp frogs and the Dream SMP as a whole.

I do apologize if this comes off a bit harsh, I’ve been watching Sneeg for a long time and the way he gets talked about and treated by Dream SMP fans is incredibly frustrating. Especially since a lot of them are only interested in him for content of their faves. As a Dream fan, I know you can relate to having people say really frustrating things about your fave cc, so I hope you can see where I am coming from.

I'll be upfront with you first and foremost - I don't watch Sneeg. I can't speak for if Dove does however, and I know Prince does (who replied with both a refutation and some level of agreement) so I can't speak for either of them (I just rbed it 'cause I saw it and agreed with what was presented without context lol) and my opinion does require that preface, I think. I do relate to the frustration you must be experiencing and I'm sorry that you're feeling it; no worries about your tone or anything, I don't think you were harsh at all.

I do see where you're coming from. I mean, your first point makes total sense - if Sneeg wouldn't want to be a part of the DSMP based on its format, then that's that. Not everyone's gonna like it or want to be a part of it; hell, even some of the people whitelisted don't really do the whole thing that the server's built on. Connor used to just give his MC avatar exercise. (Though Sneeg's friends from Origins are on the DSMP so it's not as though there's literally no reason he'd ever be on there, it is a lot more than just that.)

To be honest, I don't need to watch Sneeg to know how much of a nightmare DSMP people must be in his chat. They're a nightmare in H's chat and he's on the DSMP himself lmao. So I do understand that annoyance on his part, and how - while he's had to do some of it with the Origins crowd - he'd have to do so much work with his chat if he joined the DSMP and got that flood of new-viewership.

Two things though, and I don't mean for these to be inflammatory or negate from your point - clearly Sneeg does have more than enough legitimate reason to want to stay in his own community.

1. If he wants to be a bigger streamer, he's gonna need more viewers, and those viewers aren't gonna be as easy to wrangle. Maybe growth isn't his objective - I don't know, I think I caught one of his true crime streams once and that's about it - but the idea of having a "carefully cultivated chat" is kind of bullshit in the Twitch space, I feel like. Hasan drags people out to publicly shame them but because of his scope he's still gonna get fucking weirdos (for example). It just comes with the territory. Yes, a lot of DSMP viewers don't understand Twitch etiquette in terms of respect toward the streamer (likely since they watch very little Twitch), but a lot of chats like that seem kind of exclusionary... like where do you want them to learn, then ? What next ? Is Sneeg gonna be content with his trained names forever ?

2. I just feel like the fact that he dislikes dteam stans isn't a secret ? I'm not saying he's unjustified in this dislike - they tried to doxx him lmao, I think he gets some room to be more than pissy about them if he wanted - but I've always felt like, without any sort of negativity toward him, he just doesn't want any part of their community. Whereas he is deeply involved in the whole SBI-adjacent gang's whether he likes it or not, if nothing else purely because they are his friends and he wants to be able to hang out with them on-stream.

I don't want to misrepresent Sneeg and I'm sorry that he has to deal with any of the shitty audience members, but while I do think that calling him self-righteous is rather forceful, I also feel like they weren't pulling their argument out of their ass or anything. If Sneeg doesn't like the DSMP audience but is willing to put up with all of the SBI stans from Origins for the sake of his friends, doesn't that just leave the DTeam stans ? I don't know, that's just my perspective based on my limited knowledge.

(I really appreciate you coming to talk to me about it as someone with a lot more legitimate expertise on the subject regardless though. Sorry if I am really off >.>)

ive . never made an original post on this blog besides being completely head full of thoughts regarding the dream smp these past months so, 🎉here’s to my first og post

The Traitor!!!

(yeah i know it's already been a day and none of this stuff is new hsjfhj just let me be a drama queen that really likes analysing characters)

can i just say before i get into it that i love the descent into pretty much grey morality for most of the "characters" involved in the smp. like. pretty much nobody is morally correct! other than niki nihachu because niki can do no wrong :) also i'll be referring to the characters... of these people? and not who they are

now, i've got a couple people that i think are traitors and i'll explain them a little further down but here's some things i noted when i was watching the vod that might be interesting owo

dream says, quote, "[you] may have traitors in your ranks" which,

could be a double jebait; he knows there's a traitor but he wants to sound like it's up in the air

there really is no traitor and this is just a ruse to get pogtopia to implode on itself

the traitor still hasn't made up their mind on whether or not they will betray pogtopia

and i think the last one is the most interesting, at least from a semi-meta perspective, to have a traitor that's not fully into the role and doesn't decide until last minute. idk, something about the angst really fuels me :)

either way, here's my predictions on who could be the traitor ranked (more or less) most compelling to least compelling, and i'm not accounting for realism because... this is my tumblr post and i get to pick how i order things :) i'm hiding the (long) analysis in read more because... i just realized how much i have to say and i am Not concise.

tl;dr

tubbo, while unrealistic, makes for an interesting twist and, for angst reasons, would also be cool to write about if he betrays pogtopia

similar to tubbo, tommy betraying is unrealistic, but for angst reasons would also be cool

technoblade is kind of obvious, but the continuity (if he’s the traitor) would make me pretty happy.

wilbur soot would be a little null, since he’s already planning on blowing everything to smithereens either way, but would be another step in his spiral downwards (jeez how far can this guy go) so i’m not mad.

georgenotfound would not be super surprising per say but would continue with his general characterization as an arbiter of chaos (i’ll maybe elaborate in a different post) it would be :)

badlands folks would... not be surprising. they never formally aligned with pogtopia, and aside from sam never really... offered their help? concretely, at least.

fundy already used up his secret traitor card.

same with eret, i love her, but his betrayal wouldn’t be super impactful. plus, they’re more aligned with badlands?

niki nihachu... i said i won’t care about realism but i sincerely cannot in canon imagine this. but if she did... oh the angst would be *chef’s kiss*

hbomb, ponk, purpled, itsalyssa, punz, other people? they never really were involved with this season aside from like,,, maybe helping schlatt hunt down tommy and wilbur right at the beginning. so the betrayal wouldn’t. matter.

tubbo - look, ik i said i don't care about realism, but the chances of this actually happening are... pretty slim. i love tubbo. i support tubbo. but they... like, the confused "no?" when he first came on VC with tommy makes me think it probably won't be him, unless they're really that good at acting. which, i mean, i guess would make for a fantastic surprise. but there's something deeply compelling about this kid, who largely has been relegated to third in command/less important than his friend, and who has been treated like a work horse a lot of the time (being asked to farm netherite for this upcoming war, being forced to decorate what ended up being his fucking funeral, otherwise grinding for shit in the earliest war only for it to get ruined by dteam), fucking snapping. plus, it's not like tubbo hasn't demonstrated his penchance towards chaos. also, i think there's something to be said about the lingering effects of manipulative authority/paternal figures and how that would manifest in tubbo, but that's a post for another day.

tommy - okay, yeah, maybe i just like kids my age popping the fuck off because of terrible parental figures, but shhhhhh. for real though, i think it would be really interesting for the person who up to this point has largely been the moral compass or otherwise the hero of the smp. for him to turn out to have always been as bad as the "villains" he's fighting... i dunno. also, something about him betraying because he's so fucking done with the people who are supposed to protect and lead him? mghhghh. but i like this probably mostly for the pop off factor LOL

technoblade - i mean... this one's a little obvious innit? i'm not mad at this, for sure, because techno's always made it clear he is ultimately here for chaos and anarchy. plus, i'll be able to stew in the dynamics of dream and techno fucking the server up LOL. all that aside, if techno turns out to be the villain i will be happy about the (now) fired chekhov's gun. like, i appreciate the continuity between "schlatt suggests techno is a pogtopia spy when he joins" to "techno admits he's just an anarchist" to techno's accidental or forced, depending on how you read it, betrayal of pogtopia by killing tubbo, and it all culminating in techno's final betrayal. while not the most surprising, it would be narratively fitting. and that's always nice isn't it? when things end with a nice bow on top-

speaking of nice bows on top, wilbur soot! i mean,,, as the man has said himself, there's really nothing more he can do to betray (if not pogtopia) tommy's values. the bitch wants to blow up manberg! and that's super fucking sexy. i love his corruption arc, it's *chef's kiss.* so... is he gonna be the traitor? probably not. but something about being driven to the very brink, that you've got nothing else even after you want to destroy it all that you seek out your former mortal enemy to cause even more pain and destruction... very compelling, very nice.

speaking of brunet british twinks,,, georgenotfound. even if george wasn't really on the smp or never formally betrayed manberg, i think they kind of accepted that he's on their side. and while this wouldn't necessarily a surprising twist, this would continue with dteam's (accidental?) characterization of themselves as arbiters of chaos. maybe i'll write a whole nother post about that, stay tuned :)

any of the badlands people - i mean... i love them. i love what they stand for. but they never really aligned with pogtopia, did they? so one of them, any of them, except maybe sam, would make for a pretty weak sauce twist. like, perhaps with skeppy? and it continuing the trend of enemy between tommy and skeppy? but really the most compelling is sam in that he agreed to help tommy but as a final reveal he doesn't join tommy's side when tommy does whatever with the creeper head.

as for weak sauce twists, fundy being the traitor would be pretty fuckin' weak. i'm sorry! he already used his secret traitor card, and everyone knows, once you've used it once you can never (until the next season) use it again.

other characters on the smp... yeah, i love eret! i love her! he's fucking fantastic! their gay castle? best fucking build! but like i said, already used secret traitor card. plus, she's part of badlands, so i don't think his betrayal would be surprising. and niki nihachu,,, i know i said i wouldn't care about realism, but i honest to god cannot imagine her being the traitor. i guess if she was there'd be some nice angst about her realizing that everything is shit, no matter where you turn, pogtopia's being run by a fanatical JD, manberg's run by a dictatorial senile goat man, badlands isn't even strong enough to have its own territory. so, what can a woman do when she has nothing left to lose? but for real, within canon it just... wouldn't really make sense to me. hbomb hasn't been involved in the plot, punz + ponk + purpled + alyssa + others haven't really been involved in the plot aside from. like chasing down tommy and wilbur that one time.

and... yeah! those are my thoughts :)

So I started the hogwarts au like i dunno, 3 weeks ago? And i wasnt like, sure into dsmp lore by then. I like threw myself into the mcyt fandom shdhs.

I think I was like, kinda in it, finally understanding how to keep up with the lore, but only really paid attention to the ccs I already knew about (the dteam, wilbur and tommy, some others).

So when I made the hogwarts au I like, it was still good. But because I'm me i did it the way i wanted, and decided to center the au mostly around the charas i knew. Idk if i mentioned it anywhere but i made a list of like, the charas i cared about most to least.

The ones near the top were the ones I knew the most about, so I decided to put a list of like 10ish of the ccs i knew the most about and only went into the complicated lore (what their wands were, what their pets were, their patronuses, etc) for those ccs

But heres the problem

Now more stuff has been added to the dsmp, and I'm finally caught up with lore so I'm like, actively here now. I joined around like, ok so I first heard of and was looking at the smp when the s1 finale happened. Then I spent maybe like 2 weeks figuring shit out? I think i started actively watching Tommy's streams (he was the only one i watched at first besides george, now i still mostly do tommy and techno but i also love watching Karl's streams, ranboos, but the rest of the lore is a lil hard for me to keep up with lol @starwither on tumblr is my savior) like, maybe a week before i made the hog au. Ok I'll be honest i dont remember the exact timeline, but luckily for you it's not relevant at all

So the problem is, over the past 3 weeks I got into the lore officially sticking with the streams, exploring different characters, and actually looking at the rest of the streamers instead of the main ones I lister previously

So now, like, for example I did not know who fundy was at all. I had heard of quackity and realized he was super relevant to the schlatt arc cause I think I was catching up to that at the time so he was on the lsit, but I didnt know shit about fundy besides that he was Wilbur's son in canon so I was like "ok I'll make him younger than will but idk him so I wont put him in the list"

But now I've watched more shit and like--- I'm love him🥺🥺🥺

But I already went and added all the random facts and itll be so much work to add fundy and ranboo and the ppl I know better now that i think will be more involved in the stories cause ik them better

But ugh so much workkkkk😔😔😔😔😔

But honestly I'm probably gonna do it

At least for fundy and ranboo (and possibly quig and pete they're not dsmp but they're crazy relevant cause I mean look at their mccs)

I'm p sure there are others but those are the main 2 I can think of that I didnt know shit about before

Ugh the problem is also that I just dont know nobody

Like captain puffy I decided to make a prefect literally last second so thered be 2 relevant chara 5th year prefects, but like, that was a guess I havent seen a single stream of hers. I'm thinking I'm gonna go through mcc vods of diff teams to try and knock off 2 stones at once (learning charas AND deciding their strengths and weaknesses in the hcc and quidditch n stuff)

Last night I went and finally did quidditch shit (I dont know how quidditch works I had to do research shdhshd idk shit) and I didnt have enough charas

I based it on rocket spleef (yall dont even know this yet my tumblr followers yall get sneak peek) and so I had like, maybe 10 charas I wanted for sure on teams. Then I had like 4ish that didnt do mcc but i thought i wanted them on a team (example: minx)

And that sounds like a lot yeah

Then I realized that it equals out to like 3 members per house and theres supposed to be 7----

So I kinda bsed the rest of the team

I went to the list of caring most to least, looked at the least section cause that's streamers that I dont know ANYTHING ABOUT but they're still current mcytbers/streamers so yeah

And I basically just threw all the ones who were in mcc into it 🤡🤡🤡

And I also bsed their houses so bad cause I DONT KNOW THEM HSHDSHS so it's probably fucking awful but I once again do not care
