(This is the tweet that kind of set me off to write this, and is what I mostly address)
(image id: a tweet saying “people are going at Dream fans’ throats for “hating” on mcc. but they’re not adding the rules to actually make it more fair, otherwise they would’ve removed build mart which is a pain for the colorblind people AND those with adhd. no one’s hating, they’re understandably upset.”)
Hot take of the day, the twitter freaks arguing that BUILDMART is ableist or whatever literally only care about ableism in terms of their favorite white boys, more specifically dream and George. Like buildmart is literally a game designed to diversify the roster and to benefit players who arent good at movement or pvp, two disciplines that are very mechanics heavy. If we're following the logic of some of these twitter users, every game would be ableist because it demands a certain level of physical or mental ability that not everyone has. I vaguely remember Eret saying he has dyspraxia and has spoken about how parkour in particular is very difficult for her as a result. Are the word puzzles in sot ableist as well because some contestants are dyslexic? The reason mcc is more fair and enjoyable for people with different skill levels, and different abilities, is because there's such a diverse rotation of games, so even if your fine motor skills arent the best, for whatever reason, there are plenty of other games you can excel in that arent nearly as demanding of those skills!
Buildmart is a good game, you cant keep blaming dream or George's poor performances in the game on ableism.

Dream should just not be able to participate in the next 2 or 3 MCCs.
This isn't even about him being a top player this is about him, time and time being an immature person.
Yes you are allowed to feel certain ways. No, it was the right decision. No, you can't even begin to some how try to make a metaphor comparing it to Covid.
This man is an adult that constantly has to complain about anything that could go wrong which in itself is fine even if annoying .
It's the fact that he has such a big platform with such a well, immature/naive/young audience who follows him like lap dogs and barks at everyone that comes into their way. I know that's it not a big part of the fandom but it's still bad enough that so many just blindly follow what he says.
Another player should not expect hate when he does better.
The people who are responsible for organizing the whole thing should not be getting death threats over a silly little video game competition.
And most importantly Scott should not have to expect slurs when he makes any decision regarding games when there is trouble.
You know how fucked up this is?
And Dream knows it. I am tired of pretending like Dream isn't aware of the huge big part of his audience that always seems to resurface in these moments. He's aware of what they do.
So no, there's no excuses. He knowingly said all those things aware of what his fans will do.
I am tired of pretending like he doesn't know or isn't responsible. Every time he chooses to rant on stream for a long amount of period than he chooses to accept any consequences with it.
I have watched many people have bad MCCs before (which this clearly wasn't as he still won) even with some decision they thought unfair yet there has never been any backlash expected the way it is when it's Dream.
He's an adult. He is aware of his words to choose from. He knows the behaviour that his fans often times show. He fully understands the consequences that his action can and will have.
And yet he has shown no signs of improvement, learning or even understanding what's wrong with his behaviour.
So benching him or rather deliberately excluding him from MCC is a completely acceptable option.

have been trying not to get super mad over dream and mcc. i think he and sapnap should’ve been permabanned after they got massive amounts of hate sent H (and possible death threats then? you know when he did the space bar glitch) as well as constantly sent to scott and noxcrew (correct me if i’m wrong haven’t his fans called scott slurs?). and yet they still get to play and they still get to being down the mood and they still act like massive dicks. i generally try to ignore them and try to do my best to have fun with whoever i’m watching but it’s so difficult. Dream whining about the ace race redo was so stupid. he only got first because the people in front of him dc’ed. if he had the skill he should’ve been able to get first again it should’ve been no big deal. around 10 people dc’ed and he’s acting like it’s not a massive issue.
also. do any of the other competitors sans his friends even like him? because i swear so many people i’ve watched have shown open disdain for him. he’s an over competitive asshole who has a massive unchecked ego and his fanbase protects him from anything bad because they’re so fucking rabid. also i can’t even imagine it’s fun to play this way? I’ve had so much more fun watching mcc since I’ve watched people who’s content i like and also since i’ve stopped caring so much about winning. i can’t imagine what it’s like to get so hung up over a FOR FUN event. i think he’s fully tanked any popularity he has outside his fanbase so nice one on that.

Going back and watching a bit more of Dream's VOD to see a little more about what he said and he really said "I don't know who had problems, I'm guessing there was probably somebody that had problems that they reset for that they have a bias towards" and he said several times that the reset was bull shit.
Dream needs to think about what he says. A little later he says that he loves mcc and ppl shouldn't send hate them but god he should know by now that's not going to happen.
It's happened time and time again. He'll get upset over something that happed and his fans go and hate on the ppl who have to do with what he's upset over. It's fine that Dream is upset. He placed lower he can be upset over that. But he needs to think more before he speaks. I'm not saying he shouldn't say his opinion but he needs to think about how he words it. Because he's accidentally sent hate mobs against Noxcrew and Scott time and time again. In the Lime Llamas VOD Scott said "I mean we were getting cancelled- I was gonna get called slurs anyway" just showing how Scott expects to be hated against by Dream stans whenever something happens.
But Dream should've thought about how the 10 disconnected players were affected. And I just know that if Dream was one of those 10 players him and his fans would've wanted Ace Race to be reset.
Also to dream fans that are just upset that he was upset. I get it. I get seeing your fave being mad or upset or suddenly put into a negative mood is upsetting. I remember there was a mcc, I forget which one exactly, where Captain Sparklez was really upset about his placement the whole time. I hated seeing him like that. This is a little different ofc. There wasn't something that happened to him like a reset that messed him up as far as I remember. But still. You shouldn't just get mad at Noxcrew and Scott just because Dream is upset. Bc I've seen some people blindly getting upset over this without really knowing what happened. This goes for Build Mart as well. So many people hate Build Mart just because Dream hates it. I think all of you that are in that mindset should think about the other players for a bit. It's not just about Dream. What about those 10 that got disconnected? Really think about if it would've felt unfair for them if Ace Race hasn't been reset. Maybe even go check out their VODs and see how their scores changed after they got disconnected! If someone you really like, such as Dream, had been disconnected do you think you would've been upset if there was no reset? And for Build Mart, again think about the other players, so many do enjoy Build Mart!
Also if you're upset bc you believe this was scuffed and there shouldn't have been a reset I seriously implore you to go watch Minecraft Mondays or at least like a video talking about all the shit that happened during mcm. That was scuffed as fuck. Go look at how messed up that event was and then compare mcc. And then you'll probably be thankful for Noxcrew and Scott and how good of a job they're doing. Also. Don't fucking say that you want to kill Noxcrew or Scott. Don't tell them to kill themselves. Don't call them slurs. Don't say they're horrible people. All they did was reset something to try and be fair to the people that disconnected. They wrw trying their best and doing what they thought would be fair.
I think Dream needs to take a break and think about how he feels about MCC for a bit. I don't watch him but from watching this and from what I know he seems like he gets upset pretty easily and he takes mcc super seriously and is very competitive. I think he should take a step back and just remember that at of the day this is all the game. All you get is a coin and bragging rights. And he's won many times. He should just play more for fun sometimes. It's okay to be competitive and really try ofc but sometimes you just need let things go and have fun. I think it would be better for him to just not care what place he gets or if he wins some events so that he wouldn't get upset if he didn't.

the new dodgebolt update is hilarious, it actually low key helps dream because his strat is to let the enemy team take the arrow first anyway BUT enough anti funnelers don't actually watch dream and only dislike funneling bc dream bad so they think shits been done to stop him

I find out that there’s mcc discourse about two CC’s but there’s literally nothing in one of their tags and maybe two posts in the others. I only find it because there’s one post in the mcc tag lmao.
I have either blocked so many people who start discourse about a block game or it’s only a twitter thing. The mcc reddit mods would strike down discourse posts and it’s only twitter that’s having a hissy fit.
I am laughing.

Okay last petty/toxic post about mcc 24 from me lol. These screenshots are of the chat from the admin stream when they noticed all the people disconnecting and lagging out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before it was reset I only really saw like one or two people that didn't want to reset. Everyone was either asking for a redo or agreeing that while not ideal, it would be the fairest in their opinion. It's also worth noting that the noxcrew were incredibly professional about this, muting to make the final decision among themselves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are from the end of the race, the first one slightly before the end. So despite the chat being generally fine and agreeing with their decision, for some reason after it ends there are suddenly tons of new people showing up to yell at them. Not only to say it was unfair, but to just straight up blame them for things out of their control. Hmm, I wonder why that could be? Three of their own vips chimed in with the noxcrew hate, but were pretty quiet before the race started.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then before the next game starts we have people parroting false information, specifically information that was stated very confidentiality by dream. Apparently he was saying that only 6 people were affected, people saying that 'oh well how come skeppy got 34th if ten people dc'ed'. During the fourth round about ten people either fully disconnected or had super bad lag, to the point where none of the boost pads or jump pads worked. And they didn't just get fully kicked they were still able to join back and finish. But they finished much lower than they should have, with most of the top ten places ending more towards 15-20th. So yea, don't really have much more to add but, not really that surprised tbh. Oh and I didn't really want to make this post too long, it's like 3 am lol, but if you do go and watch the vod there are people legit saying that it's just criticism and noxite is making them look bad. But idk I think going into a chat and spouting hate after being told not to is a bad enough look without also playing victim.

Dream and MCC 24 Ace Race
So I was watching Dream’s VOD for MCC 24 cause twitter and tumblr have been saying some things about Dream (both the antis and the stans) and the ace race restart and I was like “wild concept. I’m gonna formulate my own opinion.” BTW, I’m not really an anti, but I’m definitely not a stan. For anyone reading, here’s some good old facts:
Dream got 1st during the first ace race and got 7th during the second ace race, which is still an amazing placement.
Dream held up the event by saying he had “technical difficulties” while he was actually watching Purpled’s VOD less than a minute before the second ace race was about to start, making the wait time much longer.
Dream believed that at most five people disconnected during the first ace race and didn’t believe noxcrew when they said that ten or more people disconnected. Dream’s reasoning was that because Skeppy had finished in 34th, there was no way more than five people had disconnected because that means that someone who disconnected had beat Skeppy.
Ace race is hard for anyone who is a newbie, such as Skeppy (who had only played in one event over a year ago. That practically makes him a newbie). Doing that badly is actually pretty reasonable for someone so new.
A list of the people that DCed: HBomb, Krtzyy, Shubble, 5up, TapL, Pearl, Fruit, Scar, Illumina, Captain. Exactly 10 people across 7 teams. The Noxcrew was right, not Dream.
Dream also believed that a majority of the teams didn’t have a problem. The thing is: how does he know? He doesn’t! He just said something that was factually incorrect. This is one of many things he said incorrectly.
Dream believed that noxcrew had restarted because someone disconnected that noxcrew had bias over.
Dream also compared this time to when Sam DCed in Sands of Time in MCC 18. The two are pretty different because it was only Sam DCed, not a member of over half the teams. Also the problem in this case might’ve been on Sam’s end, not Noxcrew. In this situation, Noxcrew was the one who had problems that caused the west coast servers to DC.
What infuriated me was that Dream told his viewers not to attack noxcrew, but in the same breath said that their decision was “bullshit.”
During Hole in the Wall, Dream compared ace race to a real life sports event, and that you can’t just restart a real life sports event, so why should you be able to restart ace race? You can’t DC in real life, though, so the two aren’t really comparable.
He also said that he did worse the second time around because the fact that they restarted threw him off. That’s not the noxcrew’s fault, that’s on Dream. It’s something that he can’t change without changing his mentality, but it’s not on the noxcrew for his mental state after they didn’t really have a choice but to restart.
Yes, he would’ve gotten first individually if he got first again in the second ace race. (But H got first and i love H so i’m so happy he did get first individually because H never has before where Dream has).
So here’s my opinion. First of all, holding up the event to watch Purpled’s VOD is entitled as hell and that’s not fair to the other 39 contestants and the hundreds of thousands of people watching. Secondly, I can’t blame him for being mad though because 1) his team didn’t disconnect, 2) he didn’t really know what was going on, and 3) he didn’t know his team was going to win and he believed that because of the ace race restart, his team wasn’t going to get into dodgebolt. I can blame him for making baseless opinions. Dream was talking a lot of trash without a lot of facts. It’s unfair to the noxcrew. That’s the reason that I can’t take his side.
Bonus (not discourse):
Skeppy said “Sands of Time is kind of relaxing?” My dude, absolutely not.
BAD IS THE BEST TEAMMATE EVER HE HYPED UP THE TEAM SO MUCH AFTER ACE RACE AND THEY NEEDED THAT SO MUCH!!!
