they are so qpr to me. gem is dating pearl while scar is aroace. theyre a queerplatonic couple and they love each other and scar has to listen to gem freak out about pearl /aff. hed tease her for her crush all the time before gem and pearl started dating.

i think theyd be very silly. theyd pull pranks. theyd prank grian and mumbo together. grian would pull mumbo with him to retaliate and theyd have a silly prank war.

they also have hair nights where they wash each others hair, brush it and just take care of it. they also braid each others hair while talking shit in a /lh way about the other hermits.

theyre also both very murderous. they hunt the other hermits for sport. hotguy and cuteguy but gem is cuteguy. cutegirl. idk. something. shes cute okay sdkjfhskd. or shes a completely new character. i need to watch her more-

theyre also t4t definitely. trans scar and trans gem.

they give each other cheek kisses. and also kisses in the hair for good luck when theyve finished a braid!

Finally finished taking notes on all the Empires POV’s that I take notes for. My hands are dead and I am tired. Here’s some of my personal highlights from today’s shenanigans, in no particular timeline order:

Scott Smajor having the coolest “hermits join the server” moment, with the purple sky and the fog. Very cool of you

Joel vibrating at the seams because he’s so excited his friends are here and he’s trying to be normal about it

Two different hermits absolutely gushing over Gobland and how cool it is

Scar: I love the colors in here, they go together so nice! / fWhip: I’m glad you think so, because I’m colorblind! So!

Whatever was going on w Sausage and Keralis. Why are they like that (affectionate)

Sausage being So Incredibly Normal about Pearl being there

Pearl wore her season one skin holy shit

Scott explaining Pearl away by saying she’s a cosplayer. A… god cosplayer. Yep.

The fact that they clearly did NOT discuss wether they knew each other or not. schrodinger's canon <3

Sausage: hey False what happened to the clothes you got off that dead guy that one time? / False, from Hermitcraft: ….what?

The hermits acting like they know Empires!Gem and her just being like “this is fine. Act natural.”

Sausage casually dropping his entire tragic backstory on Keralis and Jevin and then just. Moving on completely

Also the fact that Sausage greets them both by name and then acts surprised when they know his name a minute later, despite them calling him by it for a minute or two now. Great job everyone

Xisuma, guy who is bones, being paired with Joey, guy who hates bone people

RANCHER DUO REUNION! LETSGO!!!!

Jimmy ALSO got to see his evil soulmate, his soul enemy, if you will, Grian, who won’t let him have peace in any timeline

But Jimmy has SUCH a big smile on his face the whole time, you could tell he was so thrilled they were there

Impulse: Scott! My friend! My buddy! We’ve seen each other before, how are you! / Scott: I’ve never met this man in my life

Joe Hills saying he broke his arm but he’s actually just holding a stick while having litematicia installed and he doesn’t know how it works

The fact that Scar was the first one to consider that maybe the hermits should try to figure out how to get home?? Everyone was just like “ooh free vacation :)” and did NOT question it

Grian and Impulse blasting the Hermitcraft Recap music down the mic while they chase Pix around live on stream, and then Grian including that in his video so that Pix HAS to recap himself. Absolutely incredible work boys

And an extra special shoutout to the fact that fWhip and Grian have been working this out for four months now! Absolutely incredible, I’m so excited to see more. Oh my god

how pearl really got those extra hearts after beating the ender dragon

aka sl!shiny duo ficlet (469 words)

Pearl really didn't know how she ended up fighting the Ender Dragon on a server with no natural regeneration. Well, that is partly a lie; she knew exactly what, or more accurately, who convinced her to come here.

The session started off fairly normally, a question passed around The Mounders to start off the session before they all got their tasks. Her task deemed her the butler of Impulse, and she was so excited that it was him and not someone more reckless.

Or so she thought because when Gem asked Impulse and herself if they wanted to go defeat the Dragon. Impulse agreed immediately. Pearl can still see his smug look when saying yes, knowing full well she would have to come with him. She did consider failing the task just to avoid almost certain death, and she probably would've if anybody but Gem was asking her.

After all she did outright tell Pearl, “You are the most capable one here. I believe you would do a good job,” and who is she to argue with Gem?

So now she is stuck in The End with Impulse and Bdubs until either she or The Dragon dies. There were a couple of close calls which led to her ending the fight with two and a half hearts, but Bdubs got the final hit before The Dragon took her first life. They were free; he handed her the dragon egg to thank her for the work, as it seemed Impulse did a suspiciously low amount of damage, they all hopped into the portal to return back home.

Pearl woke up back in her little dirt mound, and she was thankful for her block choice; the smell of the dirt and just Earth itself was so pleasant. She didn't realize how much she missed it. There were voices right outside; it seemed like Mumbo and someone else talking, she got up to investigate.

She finds a pumpkin mask right outside her mound. “You did it! You did it!” Gem chants the moment she opens the door. Pulling her out of the doorway, Gem hugged her so tightly and spun her around as Mumbo spoke congratulations. Instead of the physical contact reducing her health, the hearts shot all the way back up to thirty, and Pearl wanted to stay in her arms forever. She didn't realize how deprived of touch she was in the name of survival, but she loved the embrace; she got to forget about the whole death game situation, the stress of the tasks, and the chaos that she had just arrived from.

But Gem finally let go, pointing them both to the Taskmaster. Pearl sighed as she figuratively and physically stepped back into the chaos, but deciding it could at least be bearable with Gem by her side.

SECRET LIFE FINALE SPOILERS

Okay so I expect to see a lot of Pearl/Gem stuff because that is top teir! Do we have a ship/duo/tag name for them because I need it desperately. (Edit: It’s Shiny Duo and I have no idea why but it’s cute)

I personally wanted Gem to win and she got so close but being top three the first time you play after basically everyone else is on their fifth season is a power move within itself.

Also Scott gave himself up to Gem twice!! Allies are his ride or dies and I love him for it. He's loyal and clever and ugh!

Scar is the one who "has no friends" but Scott and Pearl and people helped him out anyway. I forget what the "blessing" (?) where someone Scott is allied with at some point wins is called but at some point he aided Scar so does that allow that to continue?

Also Martyn was first red but he made it to the last session which is really impressive, not gonna lie.

…also Scar saying “goodbye mom” when killing Cleo causes me so much pain. He killed his mom 😭😭😭

HERES SOME MORE OF MY INSANE RAMBLINGS FOR THIS AU

Grian used to be apart of a smaller gang called Bad boys, the trio ending their small crime spree due to the injury and near death of Jimmy(whose code name was Tim/Timmy)

Impulse and skizz came as a duo having spent most of their lives together doing petty robbery (convenience stores/five finger discounts are a speciality of Impulses)

Skizz is very much the talker of the two, he would talk to ear off the cashier haphazardly waving the gun around while he talked to them asking them nicely to "be a sweetheart and put the money in the bag won't cha" or chatting to them about the rise in gas prices while Impulse was quick to discount the items they needed for the week

Scar or just Mr.Goodtimes as he was known before he joined GIGS was a seasoned hit man, hired to get rid of people if you had the cash to back it up. Sometimes he would take other things in trade for his services. Depending on what the target had done, some clients didn't pay at all.

Gigs has some extra crew members behind the scenes

Mumbo was hired to take care of the tech side of things, often listening in on their communicators to make sure they knew the layout of the heist locations and to update them should someone notify the police to their presence early.

Mumbo tried to join them for a heist in person but unfortunately the lanky mf is a bit too anxious for this line of work and sticks to staying on his side of the communicator

Gem has a background in medical having worked as a full time nurse in the ER before quitting and falling into the hands of GIGS

She was being over worked and underpaid so when she was offered a gig with GIGS through a mutual friend(pearl) she took it surprisingly quickly, they treated and paid her better anyways.

Pearl is a runner, shes constantly running around different jobs when she's needed. Something about not liking being tied down to a singular group.

Bdubs!!! Bdubs, cleo and Etho run the black market on guns and explosives.

Sometimes when making deals with them Grian swears he saw gunpowder on Bdubs face like hes been eating it. Mumbo often accompanies GIGS members to these trade deals, it still makes him anxious but he likes the trip out and getting to talk to them is always a nice change of pace.

She wanted scar to win after bdubs and joel died, she wanted to sacrifice her life to scar in the end because she wanted her allies to win.

I AM AN ABSOLUTE JUMBLED MESS, SO HAVE SOME OF MY MESSY THOUGHTS ABOUT THE CROSSOVER TODAY, IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER:

So far, we've got Tango in Gobland, Scar in Tumble Town, Pearl and Joe in Chromia, Cleo and Xisuma in Eversea, Keralis and Jevin in Sanctuary. Impulse and Grian are kind of making their own places. Did I miss anyone?

There are two kinds of emperors in this crossover: the ones who stick to the lore and claim they don't know the Hermits and the ones who drop everything and yell "MY RANCHER!".

Pix fits the second category, though a lot quieter.

Pearl fits the first, which is strange, considering her role as Literally God. At this point we really can't be sure of what exactly this means for Pearl or for Sausage. What is she?

Gem is her own category. There's something very sus going on with her.

Jimmy absolutely freaking out over seeing Tango again though-

I think at this point it's canon that either people have nametags floating above their heads or everyone is wearing an actual name tag and that's how they all know each other's names even though they never met.

Scott just got a magical flash grenade to the eye. How is this man seeing anything after the entire sky erupted in magic light-

Sausage. I'm not surprised. Not even disappointed. Xisuma most certainly is, though.

Is it a custom in Sanctuary to kiss people on the cheeks or is Sausage like... actively making out with newcomers? I know this is a very weird question, but it's Sausage we're talking about.

Joel adopted the one night armour stand joke lmao-

Tango freaking out over every little thing he sees.

Murder is canonically legal in Empires.

Grian is a force of chaos, as expected.

Rancher duo collabs again, pog? With horns and everything?

And Tango is now an engineer in Gobland, which means Fwhip might have some more to do other than poke the Sheriff. This crossover is a win all around for Jimmy, except for the toy jokes, which may increase, but I will thoroughly ignore that-

There's No Curse In Glimmer Grove.

Sausage keeping tabs on all the Hermits. That' either means that he's not as unsuspecting of them as he may seem or it implies that all Hermits are now their own empiresonas-

Grian's appearance in Tumble Town was so incredibly ominous, holy sh-

Shelby trying to be hospitable but at the same time being a witch inviting unsuspecting people into her hut in the cursed swamp after claiming the fog eats souls and pulling out a scythe. I'd be terrified.

Hats and mounts get passed all around. Is this a crime?

Why does only Pearl get an outfit change? I mean, I know why, but like, canonically speaking, why did it happen?

Still, I felt a bit teary-eyed upon seeing the Arena Duo together again, the Gilded Helianthia dress only made it better. I missed these guys interacting so much, and I don't know if I'm in denial like Sausage or if I'm just about to open a Word document to write an entire one shot about it-

Sausage had a vision of Gilded Helianthia, I'm not ok

Oh god, now we have both Joel and Scar yelling LORE in the same place, save us-

So convenient that E!False decided to travel far away right when HC!False shows up. Smart decision, yes, but at the same time, the fanfic writers must now assemble to make the two of them meet.

Ok, so apparently some people remember the Life series and some people don't. I guess that means that some of the characters, such as Jimmy, Joel and Scar, are the same characters from the Life series after they lost their third life. Other characters, such as Scott and Pearl, are not. But what does this mean?

Fwhip sounded so hurt for a moment when he thought Jimmy made Scar his new deputy. This man is not ok.

Soup Group? Soup Group.

Big ears Scar is cursed.

Sausage is too hospitable for his own good.

Scar's deputy and moral support arc. I'm happy for it, but at the same time, I don't trust it.

On one hand, I do think the wallpaper in Tumble Town looks very pretty and it would be so sad to destroy it. On the other hand, Jimmy deserves some dignity and shouldn't take this slander anymore, I swear to god-

Poor Impulse is so confused, why is this cat lady yelling at him, why are animals walking on two legs, where is he, he's having a crisis-

Stratos' class system gets called out, finally.

Just when Joel was so close to convincing the fandom that he's tall, the Empires' folk shut it down and confirm that they're only playing along and he is not, in fact, tall. Short king is back?

Katherine, when you go around telling everyone, including literal strangers your secret, I don't think it can be considered a secret anymore.

Fwhip encourages crime, such a good deputy of the law.

But then again, it's not stealing, it's borrowing-

Seeing the empires from the Hermits' perspectives is crazy, I hadn't realised just how massive these empires got.

The Hermits are staying for a while. I'm so happy this isn't going to be a one-episode thing, I'm dying to see where this goes!

(I'm trying to watch as many perspectives as I can. Some of them haven't come out yet, and I don't feel like watching Keralis' hour long episode. Can someone tell me what happens there?)

I get the feeling a lot of hermitcraft fans aren't huge fans of duo/trio/group names so let me explain to y'all how that came about!

I really think it started with The SMP That Shall Not Be Named. With a fandom largely on Twitter (that has character limits) it's not great to be writing out everyone's names all the time. So hence the object duo/trio and group names.

Now you guys are probably gonna say what about names like "smalletho". For that specific fandom that shifted too close to irl shipping territory.

It's also just a lot easier to write out something like RGB Trio than it is to write Ranboo, Sneegsnag, and Charlie Slimesicle.

Duo names also aren't always object duo/trio but it's the most common. A great example of a hermitcraft duo name is The Ranchers. Everyone knows you're talking about Jimmy and Tango. The same thing with Soup Group, everyone knows you're talking about Impulse, Gem, and Pearl.

ROUND 3: Sam and Max VS Team Musical Number

About Sam and Max: A duo of Freelance Police comprised of the relatively calm 6-foot tall dog Sam and the violent rabbity-thing Max. Most of the time, Sam has to hold Max back from "unnecessary violence", even though both of them will still use it most of the time, this dynamic can also switch when some one calls Sam fat or McGruff, which almost ended him shooting his past self once, and when Max's brains where stolen he went rampage of interrogations and turned into a noir version of himself. They both tried to open an obviously evil treasure chest right after Sam explained how it would probably release horrors upon the world, they tested what was and was not censored/bleeped-out, they have also broken hell and can breath in space. Sam ate so many fudge ice cream bars that he became immune to chocolate, and Max promised to take Sam down with him when he dies.

About Oli: An isekaied bard, the first player on Empires SMP, and the sole survivor of Afterlife SMP, having found himself in Empires SMP after trying to find his version of Sausage and instead finding Pearl, he quickly noped out due to the large amount of both Pearl's and Sausage's heads and him wanting to be alive. During his first day/episode on Empires, he named his new home the Olipoligo, built a "mega base", named his wolf after Sausage, found and raided an ancient city, outran the Warden, speedran killing the Ender Dragon, kicked the server's first mystery, stole Gem's horn, got deemed a bard, and got arrested by Fwip. He has also; gathered a bunch of Ender Men via Ender Rail (In Afterlife), fell into dept with Fwip and the Goblin Empire, tried to return to Afterlife which failed, organized the Rift Festival, and accidentally hatched the Ender Dragon Egg.

About Doofensmirtz: An "evil" scientist with ambitions to take over the Tri-State Area. He has a giant building/house/lab with "Doofensmirtz Evil Incorporated", which is also sang every time it's first seen per episode. Everything he creates ends in -inator, with their purpose ranging from the previously mentioned taking over the Tri-State Area or at least minorly inconveniencing it, to getting petty revenge on someone, to some kind of weird revenge related to his awful childhood. He named an evil organization L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N., which is technically an acronym the full name isn't much better as it stands for "League Of Villainous Evildoers Maniacally United For Frightening Investments in Naughtiness". This is a commemorative post for my 50th (technically 51st) MCYT playlist! Emperors, Hermits, and of course Traffic Life. I can’t believe I’m at 50 already! 😅

This has been such a fun time for me over the last few months! I’m adding to them everyday and always listening to them! I think I’m most proud of Boat Boys, Scarian, and Flower Husbands for groups/duos and for individual characters, I would say Mumbo, Pearl, Lizzie. Jimmy, and Joel! These characters and groups mean so much to me and I can’t thank the CC’s enough for all that they do.

This post would also not be complete without a thank you to you all for helping me add to these playlists! Specifically for Flower Husbands, it wouldn’t be as incredible without the song suggestions I received, so thank you! ♥️

Now for some stats!! : The longest one is Grian’s at 338 songs, and 4 of these playlists made my top 5 most listened of the year! (Granted these were started at the end of July-Now so that’s- actually insanity)

Life Series Solar System- a Winner's Symbolism Ramble

So we all know the winners of a life series get assigned space motifs, right? We've got sun, stars, and moon solidly covered. What about the planets?

I'm Mleem, I go feral about symbolism in an unscripted block people series, and here's the list of which lifer I would assign to each of the planets. This list does not contain all lifers. I do not have ideas for all lifers. I have planets and I'm a space nerd.

MERCURY- SCAR

All planets but Earth are named after Roman deities. Some domains of the god Mercury include trickery, thievery, and commerce. Sound like anyone? GoodTimesWithScam himself is right at home with all of that. It's also the closest planet to the sun [gestures at desert duo] and its very high temperature seems fitting for HotGuy.

VENUS- SKIZZ

Venus is the goddess of love. Love is stored in the Skizz. He's been the kindest person throughout his series, and puts his love for his friends over all else. Plus, Heart Foundation. Venus as a planet, however, is an extremely brutal and deadly place, just like how Skizz can easily succumb to bloodlust. He may be loving, but he is not harmless.

EARTH- GEM

Gem is extremely associated with nature, with her cottagecore aesthetic being one of the reasons. But Gem also embodies the darker parts of nature- she is deadly and predatory. She is life in all its parts, fitting for our living planet. She's also a great duo with Pearl, our local moon!

MARS- MARTYN

Listen, I know Martyn's cosmic motif is debated, but I really think Mars fits him. First off, his name means "devoted to mars". Secondly, the hand of dogwarts and the victor with the most brutal win works very well with the planet named for the god of war.

JUPITER- IMPULSE

The biggest planet, named for a god of storms and lightning. Electrical impulses, perhaps? True to its name, Jupiter is a stormy planet, with its very well-known Great Red Spot being a storm that never stops. Seems fitting for the guy who never, ever lets a grudge go. Also, fun fact- Jupiter has a nearly identical composition to that of a star. And they're both Scotts.

SATURN- BDUBS

Yes, I know he built the earth, but hang on a second. While Saturn, in Roman mythology, is most well known for. uh. something horrible, he was also the titan of time. Something Bdubs is very, very associated with. Saturn as a planet is known for it's beautiful rings, which. Just feels very Bdubs to me. Maybe it's the canonical marriage in Double Life.

URANUS- JOEL?

This is the one I'm least certain on. The Joel association is mainly vibes, pulling from the fact that Uranus in mythology was a sky god (the first one, before Jupiter showed up) and so was Joel in Empires. But really, it's mostly because he'd find the name funny. Someone had to be it.

Uranus is also sideways. The planet is on its side compared to everything else in the Solar System. This doesn't help the Joel vibes, I just wanted to mention it.

NEPTUNE- LIZZIE

What better lifer for the planet named after the god of the seas, than the Ocean Queen herself? An incredibly distant planet, and a player that hasn't joined many series, Neptune also has a very interesting trait to its orbital path- very rarely, it will cross that of Pluto, making Neptune the most distant. And that brings us to...

PLUTO- JIMMY

Who else but our canary in the coal mine, first to fall all but once, to take the (dwarf) planet named for the god of the underworld. Death, and the underground. Demoted once-planet with cringefail swag, yet still beloved by many. The furthest away from the center of our solar system, and perhaps thats why he's so vulnerable to dying first. Maybe Lizzie and him crossed orbits, and that's why she fell first instead.
