Now I'm curious cause of your tag. What did Swedish media say about the eurovision thing?

Oof yeah, here's a post detailing it ... here another... Basically they've absolutely flipped over the fact that Finnish public didn't give Loreen points at all (which I find absolutely hilarious) and suddenly started wielding such rhetoric as "the former eastern part of our kingdom" referring to Finland, which is???? like??? do I even need to say how Not Okay that is?

It might seem to some that the Finnish people are reacting to Sweden's (unfair) win and them being sore winners (which, points to them, I didn't know was possible!) with too much drama, but it's all tied to our history together. Finland has traditionally seen itself, and has been seen by other countries (Sweden included) as the sort of "little brother" to the more advanced, better-faring, glorious Sweden. While Sweden to my knowledge doesn't much care about what Finland gets up to (perhaps overlooking/ignoring us and our merits), Finland is always comparing itself to Sweden and trying to live up to it. It's a very common rhetoric and sort of, the atmosphere over here. We know more about Sweden than Sweden knows about us; we're constantly conscious that Sweden exists. Sweden gets talked about in international news; Finland, if mentioned, is often tied to - you guessed it - being Sweden's neighboring country.

We used to be part of Sweden for 600 years. During that time, Swedish was implemented as the language of the culture and the "civilised" whereas the finns living in the eAstErn pArT oF tHe kiNgDoM were seen as "wild" and "uncivilised" and just, generally a lesser people to the Swedish speaking population. We haven't been under Sweden's rule for some 200 years and STILL we can't seem to shake their influence on us. Swedish is still a mandatory language to learn at school (and I have many opinions on that, but that'd be another post). Finnish as a language has been disregarded for its whole existence. Our leading national thinkers and poets in the 19th century, who were the first ones to really push for the Finnish identity instead of us seeing ourselves as part of Sweden or Russia, wrote in Swedish. The first novel in Finnish was published in 1870.

So this is monumental to us, to have the whole word watching Finland and not Sweden. Finland has a lot of merits, especially considering how small a people we are (just 5,5mil). To have a song in our language, in Finnish be this popular, is something we couldn't have imagined. We as a people are humble to the extreme, so much that we might easily scorn anyone who is too successful (not a good thing!), and this is the first time in my life that I'm seeing the whole country rally behind someone like this. When we say "Our Jere" we mean it with our whole hearts. We're so so proud of him, everyone is, and for once Finnish people seem to think in unison that someone deserves all the praise and the success.

SO, to have Sweden in this UNIQUE moment of Finland raising its head and being "we're so amazing", with the rest of Europe going "yes you're so amazing!!", spew rhetoric like this, is just, unbelievable to me. Like I can't just believe that in the 21st century there are people in Sweden who hold up 200 year old thought patterns of our country. It's been shocking 'cos though there's always been rivalry, it's felt more... tongue in cheek. We "love to hate" Sweden over here. It's been "I hate Sweden (affectionate)". But now we find this unbelievably condescending and belittling attitude towards us raising its head, and we wonder, we thought we two were okay?? But have they always held these beliefs???

So there's a sense of betrayal in the air as well. And just, full on disbelief. And maybe we're starting to see that it has been like this all along, but we've decided to turn a blind eye to it? True colours shining through? Perhaps not... but yeah.

Just a heads up, but if you want some good aroa e rep it's popular but alastor in hazbin is explicitly aroace and that facet of his character is handled really well

Haha yeah I know, it's been kinda hard NOT to hear about it these days 🙈 Arguably I have yet to check out the show but yeah...

(...Is he also aro though? I HAVE heard about that one joke about him being ace but aro's actually the first time I hear about it... Then again I maybe just jumped to the conclusion that it wouldn't come up because from what I understand of his personality he's kind of a horrible person people probably shouldn't want to be romantically involved with for their own sake...? ...Idk that's just all I can observe with my non-knowledge of the show though so please do feel free to correct me if I'm wrong 🙈)

PS: With that said, explicit ace rep is explicit ace rep, it's rare enough as it is, and in a show with that much reach, I appreciate it èwé

Thinking about Dick snatching a cig from Jay's mouth to take a drag of it, and then blowing the smoke to the side.

Jason stands there dumbfounded. Staring at Dick's fluttering eyelashes, the way how his lips wrap around the slight cylinder shape, and how he's breathing in the smoke and then blowing it.

Dick didn't smoke, as far as Jason knew about him, but the way in which he walked over to Jason, who was waiting on the side to collect Dick after the funeral, put his hand on Jason's shoulder for support while the other swiftly took the cigarette that Jason just lit up and took a heady smoke of it like he was a regular.

Jason was stunned. And oh god he was so aroused. Which was absolutely inappropriate considering their current disposition and the very public space they were at.

He was ever so grateful for the long coat he was wearing at the moment as it covered his front quite well, otherwise he would appear as an inconsiderate asshole right now..

Dick doesn't linger on it much longer than that though, as he returned the cig back to Jason's lips and patted him on the shoulder signalling the need for their departure. No words exchanged, Dick can't bring himself to form them at the moment, and Jason is in no need for them to understand him.

He trots after Dick just like the lovesick dog he is.

Plus this is the sweetest cigarette that Jason has ever had in his life.

Such a good treat it was, he guesses.

Ram!!!!! Ram I started watching One Piece because of you and I'm only a few episodes in but it's really entertaining! Luffy is a super charming character, the color palette is eye catching (bright yet easy on the eyes) and the animation really surprised me! The artstyle is simple but the animation team really did a lot with it. I used to not like the artstyle but actually seeing it in motion changed my mind and I'm noticing a lot of unique things about it that make me like it more

Yeah !!! One Piece has really interesting color palettes and character designs, they always catched my attention even before I actually started watching OP

And i totally get it, at first sight the art style is little bit weird ? Some of the characters have weird proportions (looking at you most of female designs 😑 ) and is definitely is not what you would expect from a typical shonen anime artstyle but at the end they have a really nice charm 💖 !! And they are super recognizable !!

Plus I think that Oda's artstyle is pretty much influenced by cartoons, ( hence Luffy literally being a rubber man and you know rubber hose animation n stuff... ) and i think THAT is what makes the animation so GOOD, the movement and facial expressions of the characters are exaggerated in such a cartoony way that makes the animation so unique ?

And oh boy in each arc it keeps getting better and better !! (I still haven't fully catched up with the anime but as always i like to spoil myself cof cof 😅 )  and In the last episodes they have released I keep getting surprised because it is SO COOL 😭 and tbh i started watching One Piece cuz someone in my 2D animation class shared a clip of the current arc / season (i think) and aaa my jaw dropped and i almost cried from how beautiful that animation was 🤣

And i find it interesting that in each arc you can actually see how the studio and the autor keep advancing as artists ? It is really inspiring and you can totally tell how much they love One Piece 💖

adkfksjfks sorry for gushing about One Piece so much, it is just that is so interesting and i love it so much !! i could totally keep writting about One Piece's animation, story and artstyle all day and I'm really happy that you are enjoying it 😄I know that watching OP can be a long journey but it's totally worth it 💖✨

So this whole time, I thought I had to talk to Halsin about having lovers to flag a romance with him bc I've had to do that in other games in the past and just assumed that was the case here

I thiiink I processed a bit of my thoughts bout OFF but like, my mind was blown so there isn't much in it. One thing bout it though is that I really love the music in this game, like I be jamming to the battle music it sound so cool and catchy and it's actually stuck in my head. I also love the puzzles in the game, it's not too hard and it's also so nice to do! (I say that but I brute forced at least 2 puzzles. The puzzles right before Zone 1 and Zone 2's bosses... Trial and error even though the key to the puzzle was Right in the area but lazy in I don't wanna go back to look).

Also I love how, even if the game doesn't seem like much, it was hella enjoyable for me, must be cuz of the music. Like, I'd walk around so much finding a bunch of stuff and then battles happen with some banger music and it honestly felt like I just played that game for like a hour even though it was way more than that. Like, I really really enjoyed it.

For the story of the game... I have no idea what story is supposed to be there. But throughout it, whenever the Batter purifies a zone I start doubting if it's the right thing cuz everything looks so... lifeless... Like yeah sure, the spectres are also pretty bad and killing the poor Elsens, also doesn't help how Dedan makes the poor guys so stressed too but I was thinking if there was at least another way than just purifying everything but I'm stuck with the Batter. By the end the Judge saying that I'm the puppeteer but honestly I felt like more of the puppet for some reason.

I'm stuck with the Batter my guy, I won't proceed at all unless I do things that aligns with the Batter's mission. And in either endings, it's all bad in a way that, what's done is done. Choosing the Judge doesn't reverse anything, the world is completely lifeless and "purified," so in the end it's better to just keep being with the Batter and finish what we started. Which is pretty cool cuz I kept wondering Why was the game called OFF and then seeing the Batter ending and I'm like: OOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH (it was the first thing that blew my mind).

Like, I feel like this game's story got A Lot of stuff for me to know (Time to read through what everyone's theories are. I'm not really good with those so I always enjoy reading everyone else's). Like, the thing that I kiiinda get is that there's a lonely child who doesn't like his dad and prefers his mom but the mom doesn't even visit him much. He made 3 friends which he turned into guardians of the zones, and a mom regarded as the Queen. And then there's Batter which I feel like was based off of Boxxer in that comic that the kid was given to by his dad. And like, gestures vaguely, yeah, it's neat :D (my train of thought broke I don't remember what I was going with that).
