hi! hope you’re doing well!!

i was just reading the comments on the everglow pirate mv to see what people were saying about the song (bc it slaps of course) and a lot of them were talking about how the group is apparently in dire straits and that the company needs to take action quickly or else they’ll fall apart/disband/etc. obviously it all seemed quite dramatic, but some of the things people mentioned (no full album/lightstick, yiren’s situation, the group’s current general absence from the spotlight, etc) were things that i did know about and aren’t necessarily great signs. as a person who is generally pretty informed on the girl group scene (and the number one first fan), i wanted to ask if you thought these claims had any legitimate merit or if it’s just fans worrying and creating problems where there aren’t any (or at least not to this scale). regardless, i just hope we get some good news about them soon :(

oh wow this is unexpected lol, im not an expert at all haha

but to answer your question, im not that worried about them, tbh. it has been a while since their last comeback, but this is actually not the longest gap there's ever been. it's just about the same length right now as the gap between First and Pirate, and not as long as the gap between La Di Da and First. i wish their gaps werent so long but.... in any case, this is actually fairly normal for them. i think Yiren's situation and Onda's father passing away have been big delays though. but as for right now, they're actually doing pretty well right now, they've been performing all over the world at a couple big concerts and festivals. i think they were the first kpop girl group to ever perform in saudi arabia? they did that a couple weeks ago. they were in london recently too, and they just performed at 1thek's big "g-kpop" concert in seoul like last night. aisha has covid right now i think, so they were performing just as 4 members... but they were performing! and i've heard really good things, especially from people who were at the saudi arabia and london shows. yuehua is having yena come back next month, and i think everglow will probably be after that. i dont think they would be flying everglow all across the world if they werent gonna have them come back i think, haha. unfortunately it's very likely that it'll be without yiren... i'm not very informed about her current situation, but i do think she'll definitely be back... just... maybe not yet. i think there will probably be at least one comeback without her, similar to dreamcatcher in their era without handong. idols getting stuck in china is a recurring thing. i think this is more of a handong situation than a cheng xiao/meiqi/xuanyi situation though, i really do.

fans do love to worry and complain though. everglow arent on top of the world, that's true, they're not the biggest kpop group ever, but i think theyre doing pretty fine. there are a lot of girl groups who would KILL to be where everglow is right now. it's taking longer than i would have hoped, but i think they'll come back relatively soon. probably september or october. and hopefully the gap after that comeback won't be so long

#as for lightsticks though lol i dont really care #i have the word lightstick muted here and on twitter because i hate lightsticks and i think theyre a scam haha #but yeah no idk i have faith in everglow #im more worried about a group like weki meki... but even they have been doing a number of concerts and stuff recently!#building up some momentum!#thank you for the ask though! i love to talk about this stuff

BWAAAA. i think i'm gonna drop most of my kpop stuff :')

#i wanna keep twice snsd and fromis #i'll keep collecting them and if saturday ever has another physical release :')#and then a few albums that just really hold a special place in my heart #like a couple of my skz and day6 and exo and weki meki albums #and then i think i wanna keep most of the photocards #like oneus i wanna keep collecting seoho cards but i don't know if i wanna collect albums #i always liked collecting cards more anyways #cause they take up way less space and it's just a lot more fun to actually collect them imo #but i wanna clear up as much space as i can and start focusing on collecting manga and figures more seriously #and other random little merch shit like i've got a small proseka collection started that's mostly ena and kaito #i'd like to continue growing that #but all my albums take up SO much space and i don't even really collect as much as i used to..#so i think i'm gonna start dropping albums and focus on cards for a while #and if i'm still not really as interested in cards in a couple of months i'll probably sort through those #okay #i could start going through stuff today but i don't wannaa #maybe i'll do it later when i have clean sweatpants to throw on #i'm doing laundry so i put on a skirt but i don't wanna clean in a skirt..#anyways #-_-#snow.txt

To answer your question, what usually first draws me to a group is seeing a member or two in a variety show. The funnier their personality, the more inclined I am to check their group out. The visuals are nice but it's usually the songs that keep my interest in a group after that.

For example, I didn't even know who Weki Meki was until I saw Yoojung and Doyeon on Prison Life of Fools and thought "that short girl" is kinda quirky. Went down this whole rabbit hole of watching IOI content before falling in love with Weki Meki's discography.

More recently, with Queendom Puzzle, I decided to give a listen to the latest H1-Key stuff (Rose Blossom is really good) and I really like Rocket Punch's latest comeback Boom. Thanks for the ask! Have a Yeonhee~

I looked up the contestants of produce 101 japan both seasons and I found out Orbit and JO1 came out of season 1 and Ini out of season 2. Also I found out Daigo and Renta were in season 2. Then because I like going back and looking at the previous produce 101 season’s contestants cause sometimes I forget who all was on and wow I love information so many constestants debuted and some are still in temperary groups like Sunhyuk was in Rainz and now he’s in Tan. But we got members in onewe and oneus, noir, wei, mirae, Lee eunsang in Younite I found some members of cravity there’s soloists. I love looking at their produce pics lol I just watch some of them on that show tho. Mixnine and The Unit are fun to look at too. The Unit was basically a party for already debuted idols. And then in the first season of produce 101 we got weki meki and pristin and Chungha and somi and chanmi debuted for a third time and there’s so many more idols I recognize it’s so fun to look at them all.

I just hated that season 2 introduced already debuted idols in to compete with trainees I don’t think that’s fair at all and I don’t like the whole competition stuff but that seems to be the new thing. Pros tho all the groups that come out of it and some I really like and I totally keep forgetting that Wonjun and Wonhyuk were in season 3 with woodz and seungwoo and byungchan and wei and Wooshin and Hyeonsu and I found their pics and they’re so cute lil babiesss :(
