Tgcf/MDZS crossover au where after loosing his core WWX technically counts as dead and is able to cultivate the same way a ghost can, essentially making him a ghost possessing a very compatible body.

He’s not a demonic cultivator, he’s just a ghost.

Additionally, the burial mounds are actually the semi-active “remains” of mount tonglu, so when he dies there he’s essentially thrown straight into the kiln, and the only reason WWX is able to get out within 8 years is bc he spent 4 years there as a child, and an additional 2 with the Wen remnants.

Accidental Ghost King Acquisition.

WWX spends the next 3 years in Yiling fucking around with his ghost Wens, rescues Wen Ning with help from Wen Qing, helping the small town in Yiling, and generally being the insane genius inventor he always should have been.

He makes silver bells and enchanted ornaments for Yiling’s people deals with rogue ghosts, befriends his shishu Xiao Xingchen, helps spirits move on. Silver Song Guiding Graves becomes a very welcome guardian for Yiling.

Xie Lian, concerned about the supposed new ghost king, is assigned to find it. Thus leads Xie Lian and Hua Cheng meeting Wei Ying.

Eventually, Mo Xuanyu tries to summon the Yiling Patriarch in exchange for his own soul, but.. he just gets Wei Ying hunched over on the ground with noodles coming out of his mouth. He was having dinner with his friends when he got summoned by this twink okay?

He basically becomes Mo Xuanyu’s Bodyguard for the next 9 months cause he sees Xuanyu as pathetic but in like a wet cat sort of way, as he, Lan Zhan, Xuanyu, and a group of 15 year olds get together to solve a murder.

Wei Wuxian, cajoling: come on, I told you about the sword hilt thing...

Shen Qingqiu, blushing and half hidden behind his fan: you're utterly shameless. Very well. It was... a bottle of wine.

Wei Wuxian: ....

Xie Lian: ....

Shen Qingqiu: ....

Thought of the funniest thing

Okay, imagine Hua Cheng and Wei Wuxian swapped places one sudden, and random day. The day Hua Cheng got swapped into Wei Wuxian's body was when he had to copy down books for a whole month. But if they got stuck with their own abilities, then Hua Cheng in WWX's body would struggle writing, making the punishment longer.

MEANWHILE, Wei Wuxian has to deal with, in his mind, boring and stressful things. Managing a city? Trying not to get killed by gods? He would lose it.

I mainly made this post just to watch poor Hua Cheng suffer writing for so long, I can see him holding back tears (Bonus if it is E-Ming instead), as Lan Wangji looks over the papers in silence, unable to read anything.

Wei Wuxian- Mo Dao Zu Shi/Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu

Summary: The surrounding buildings are illuminated by the scarlet glow of lamps strung above, hazed by a soft mist. Both ends of the street are consumed by the fog, giving the illusion that it goes on for infinity. Lines of shops sit on the edge, and Wei Wuxian makes out odd trinkets being sold. A thought slams into him, threatening to topple him over again once he’s on his feet. Nothing hurts, the pain is gone. The injuries he’d had just seemed to vanish. When he looks up he’s taken aback by the startling sight of a boar glowering over him. No, not a boar he realizes on second glance, but a large muscular man with a boar head. He makes a sound like a low pig snort, “Puh- damn new ghosts.”
