You couldn't hide the way your mouth fell open at your best friend's suggestion, so out of left field you couldn't help but laugh before fully processing the fact that he was serious.

Getting comfortable on the couch, rewatching your favorite most beloved sitcom while having your best friend's face buried in between your legs...is a unique experience. One you've been revisiting for a little too long now, to the point the pain of his nails digging into the flush of your thighs doesn't faze you anymore. When it's clear that that was a failed attempt, your eyes still focused on the TV, he raises his head. "Are you bored?"

You tear your eyes away to the boy, tilting your head at the sudden question. His lips were glistening, red, forming a pout, clearly insecure. You huff out a laugh through your nose, "That's such a stupid question."

"No it's not. You're focused on the stupid show and not me!" You roll your eyes, unfortunately for you, everyone has flaws, Beomgyu not being an exception-- his was and has always been his tendency to crave full attention on him.

"Am I ...am I not making you feel good?" his voice this time is softer, craving to hear a denial to his insecurities.

You sigh, another weak spot. When Beomgyu's voice cracks in attempt to swallow his tears, your heart cracks.

You're quick to soak up his insecure figure. "Beomgyu, no. Of course you're making me feel good." You feel him calm down, body releasing its previous tension. He rests his head on your tummy, allowing you to play with his hair again, "Yeah?"

"Mhm," you hum. In attempt to lighten the mood a little, you tease, "Am I allowed to watch my show now?"

He nods against your shirts fabric. You smile, your eyes going from him to the TV screen. He just lays his head on your tummy, watching the show with you, arms around your waist. It's strangely intimate, but you dismiss the feeling.

He eventually goes back down on you, and you make sure to turn off the screen, providing him with your full attention. Beomgyu was always good with his mouth so it's no surprise he got you to finish. What's surprising is that he ends it there-- no reason for you to scold him for trying to take more than he was allowed.

"Good boy..." you murmur into his hair, you mean it. Though you were prepared for it, you weren't really in the mood to deep clean your couch again.

Your lids are heavy, almost drifting to sleep but sure enough, you feel Beomgyu's lower half moving against your leg. You think he's just shifting his position so you ignore it, but you quickly learn its something less innocent than that. "You're going to stain my couch again?"

Maybe Beomgyu didn't have his self control in check after all.

He suddenly stops and you try your best to not laugh-- it's like he was caught stealing something. "Go on, as a sorry for not paying attention to you. You deserve it."

He whines against your neck as if to thank you before his hips start rocking against your outstretched leg, quickly turning frantic as his breathing gets heavier. In an attempt to not make this further than it had to be, you never let Beomgyu enter you, only giving him the option of getting off from your thighs.

He audibly complained to you before, but he quickly learned to comply if it meant you wouldn't stop this relationship, adjusting to pathetically humping your leg. You've always been disapproving of his attempt to give you hickeys, it was rightfully risky, but Beomgyu was a horny dog, not able to control the urge to start sucking on the flesh of your skin.

You didn't have the power to stop him, especially when he knew all the right places to nip and slightly pull, choosing that you'll have to cover it up well later. His mind is eventually too cloudy to focus on giving you hickeys, whining with his head buried between your chest. You reach out for it on top of the small coffee table in front of you, disrupting Beomgyu's rhythm for a second, but he doesn't fail to pick it up again-- it's cute, how he gets so worked up.

Your current mood is soured when you see a text notification from your boyfriend, your eyes then immediately travelling up to the time. Shit.

You have to finish this fast before he starts suspecting. You bite down on your lips, still staring at the text that reads, 'When are you coming?' Fuck, how could you forget about the date?

"Y/N...pay attention to me." he whines, making you spare a glance down on him. Beomgyu's head raises, with sniffles, flashing you his puppy eyes. You sigh, discarding your phone before you decide to quicken this-- instead of just laying there for your body to be used, you trail your hand up his shirt.

He shakes his head whimpering, hair messy over his eyes, but you ignore it. Your calloused fingers on his bud sends Beomgyu's head to overdrive, and you know it. Your thumb brushes over the puffy pink of his nipple, and it was over for him.

You catch the hot tears running down his cheeks for a split second before his head falls, hair over his face, humiliated as you continue to rub. "Baby...you're so pretty." you coo, getting his hips to fasten against your thigh, his slender body shaking.

His breathing strains against the fabric of your shirt, whines from the back of his throat, and you feel warmth spread between your legs, signalling that he soiled his pants. But he doesn't slow his movement, still humping your leg. Bad boy.

You're about to scold him but his incoherent whispers become louder, and now they're more than clear to your ears. "I love you, I love you, I love you so much."

You squeeze your eyes shut-- fuck. "Beomgyu..." you try your voice soft, but he's not willing to listen, shaking his head again, sniffling. He tightens his hold around your waist, "I won't let you go. Just forget about him, please forget about him. I love you so much."

In response to your silence, he raises his head from your body meekly, his dark eyes made bright and sparkling with sweet, needy tears, face flushed. "Love me too...please?"

He really was just some emotionally repressed small town guy, And while Lori telling Rick “I wonder if you even care about us” in front of Carl was horrible, I wonder what Rick could’ve done or not done that would make her feel that way? And Shane said women’s problem is they don’t know how to turn off a light switch, to which Rick says part of the problem is he’s the one who’s leaving light switches on; I hate to be missing something that’s probably obvious but what did he mean with that?

this got long because who am i, so under a read more it goes.

maybe i got my rickgirl blinders on and am giving him too much credit but i thought rick was laughing at least somewhat incredulously at shane's speech (he was at the very least shaking his head a lot until the very end) but yes present-day rick would probably not have entertained that quite so much lol. but to kind of go along with that, my interpretation of light switch thing was rick kind of dismissing shane's, as you pointed out, misogynistic joke by saying he's the one with the issue turning off lights, and also to shift the conversation into the Actual Problems he and lori are having. also in retrospect it kinda feels like the show was lowkey already telling us lori and shane were more suited for each other than lori and rick but i could be reading into that. but listen metaphors have a habit of flying right over my (probably) autistic little head so i could also be missing some hidden meaning there.

as for the fight with lori, there's a flashback (i think in season 2?) where lori is talking to a friend about that same fight and she admits that she was the one who was being the asshole and how she got even more pissed off over how even-tempered and reasonable he was in response. from rick's perspective, he said he would try to talk about his feelings only for it to seem like lori didn't actually want to hear them after all. honestly i think they were just fundamentally incompatible, as we saw over and over in seasons 1 and 2. it wasn't anyone's fault, and their fights probably escalated because they didn't even know how to argue the way the other person wanted them to.

and not to constantly compare rick/lori to richonne, but rick similarly almost never yells or gets mean the few times we see him and michonne argue. the couple of times he did in towl were such an anomaly it set off alarm bells for michonne that something was really wrong with him (and also the situation was just objectively insane). but michonne and rick know how to disagree without getting ugly, and she certainly never has to try to provoke him into communicating because they have a fundamental understanding of each other that rick and lori never had. for sure rick learned from his mistakes with lori but i don't think the rick who was with lori was an entirely different person who said horrible things to his wife. he couldn't express himself the way we see he can with michonne because he just didn't have that type of connection with lori. and to be fair, lori didn't feel that with rick either, and again, that's okay. they probably should have just called it quits well before rick got shot. @cantstayawaycani and @jonesywrites go into this far more eloquently than I did here in their very excellent towl season 1 reaction video that you should definitely watch, because it's wonderful from start to finish.

I genuinely don’t think they care about the ages. Katara’s actress was 15 when Jet’s actor was in his late 20s. I’m just worried they’re probably going to do K*taang because of how hard they were pushing them in the premiere. I thought we would have been getting more official pictures with Zutara and the official accounts would be posting Zutara.

It's possible, they could water down and imply KA. I think for Jetara it can stay largely the same. The jetara kiss was off screen, so nothing happens between the two that would be weird on-screen, even though they have a romance.

So they could have Ka/taang portrayed without any kissing or anything that would make it sort of weird. They also could kiss anyway. It'll be weird, people will notice it's weird lol, but it's not like it's illegal. It's been happening in TV and movies for decades, well, over a century, but in modern times as well.

I'm just thinking it won't honestly. My strongest hunch is that the only romance will be Sukka, my hope is Zutara. But, tbh I expect no romance for Zuko, Katara, or Aang. A lot of things are gonna have to be trimmed for brevity in the Netflix version, and the plot dense romances very well could be some of them.

I really don't think Ma!ko is happening. It was horribly rushed and terribly written in the cartoon. I don't think, from all the concerns on pacing Albert Kim has expressed, that they'd try shoving that mess in there.

Sukka works because it's always been a B plot romance, but it's paced appropriately. (Ma!ko was B plot too, but it's pacing was horrible and they were, imo, just incompatible entirely, but even if I thought they were soulmates… the pacing is…………… so bad).

i like overthinking this sorry ok so what’s interesting about the whole jaime sitting on the throne “just to sit down” bc it is just a chair bit is that yes, jaime has a particular disillusioned relationship with that symbol of power, and the thing is that that chair is like a gazillion meters up in the air or whatever so i do think it is a bit more complicated than just him having to sit down after #allthat, he could have very well just sat on the stairs lol. there was a more conscious decision being made on his part.

and this whole exchange is more about parallax, about an outside interpretation rather than what is canonically going on in jaime’s head. and i get that a lot of people think it is mostly “a remnant from the original outline”, but i do not think that means george wrote it with the intention for it to lock on a specific trajectory, i think it is a seed that can be gardened however he pleases, especially because of some heavy foreshadowing with him in agot already for many things that i think are pretty incompatible with that original outline. i do think there is a reframing happening in asos with that action and we can still make sense of it. but neither ned or robert were correct.

jaime’s experience leaves him with a very interesting mindset when it comes to “right” to absolute power like the throne. the image of a king figure gets torn down in every way: aerys obviously becomes a destructive person who was still born with right to that power, and him having that power has devastating consequences, but what also sticks with jaime is that contradiction in his death. how he dies in such an ugly human way. there really is nothing differentiating him from the lowborn rossart, in fact, rossart seems to have died with more dignity. the whole “equal in death/not equal in life” thing. the vulnerability of a king. i do find the “sword across the knee” bit interesting, bc it does mean denying guest right in the north. i wonder if that is just meant to play into a ned/jaime conflict and misunderstanding, or if george is insinuating with that imagery that jaime is guarding the seat in a more abstract way, and sending a message with his existence (especially considering what his role and the whole wildfire plot in the story being stopped and a king being murdered by a kg means on a less personal scale: the whole analysis of ‘what is power and who holds it?’ that permeates this series), almost like a warning, considering what goes through his head before he climbs up there. anyway, i do read it as an act of conscious ‘defiance’ of some kind though. if we go beyond what a 17 year old jaime can fully grasp at that point, he did break the social order by murdering his king as a kingsguard and that has implications in their world. that is an interesting precedent. and then jaime is so disillusioned by social contracts of this sort that he sees no difference between his act and the act of robert, ned & co, which is why he is so particularly frustrated by what he views as hypocrisy, ntm that robert tore the realm apart with his war in his mind and he rues him too. and then ofc with ned’s commentary of “he had no right to that throne”, like this is just the mindset of society, it is built on these constructs of rights and oaths etc, and they all serve a purpose in reinforcing a status quo. jaime all throughout the present text shows no concern for, or even an active rejection of, this construct of ‘right’ to that throne. like he does seem to view the whole thing like: “you can win that power with swords, power resides where people think it does, what does the rest matter?” (as per his targ romance with cersei delusion passage) so many of his thoughts and actions imply this rejection of the construct of inherent right to that power, especially through birth. he also does not view it as something with that much ‘worth’ in terms of what it means for the individual. it gets as overt as it can with “how much can a crown be worth, if a crow can dine upon a king?” etc. i do not doubt all this also bleeds into his continued rejection of his role as heir to some extent. and it all feels like the effect the aerys experience/robert’s rebellion would have on him and his relationship to power. though i do think in some way he does still crave an “aerys anti-thesis”, a “good king” he does not rue, and he can acknowledge this desire more when hope is rekindled in him. anyway, i do think him sitting on that throne is a symbolic gesture, maybe even a form of taking back control through diminishing its value, even more hard-hitting considering he does not want the throne himself, and then belittles it even more with his words afterwards.

and what is also cool to me is that there is a motif with jaime’s golden sword: ned especially is so fixated on it being tainted by blood, especially of his king, it is an image that he and others keep conjuring, it exists in the collective consciousness. 

and then what that passage reveals is that jaime’s golden sword does something very different than become tainted with blood in his nightmares. it is not killing a king, it is cutting down an endless stream of burning corpses. it also reveals that jaime is still haunted by something that never happened. i find it interesting that his conscious often goes to ned, even in the fever dream he expects him to come out, but he is wrong there too, just like how he is not the one that haunts his dreams in general. he even acknowledges it: “The moss covered it so thickly he had not noticed before, but now he saw that the wood was white. It made him think of Winterfell, and Ned Stark’s heart tree. It was not him, he thought. It was never him.” things are still much deeper than just that palpable and damning judgement he received for his finest act from that man, who in many ways embodied the ‘hypocrisy of honor’ in jaime’s mind.

Update: One year on the tracks!

It's been a year (and a week) since we first started working on this mod! April 25th is when I first started working on this project! Terrible timing since that's literally the day before my birthday and I'm too busy to make anniversary updates the day of. Thank you everyone following this mod despite how slow we chug along!

We've been hard at work trying to get the mod complete enough for a (still unfinished...) release! It won't have everything we have planned (marriage events, Elesa events, platonic route, roommateable Cilan, etc.) because it would take forever otherwise (we keep getting ideas for additions...)

So many ideas. Sometimes we have to dial it back...... The amount of times events had to be cut down for concision... and we still struggle to keep them under 8 minutes...

1.6 broke a lot, so sorry for the delay in updates! (WHY CA WHY!) We've been having to do a lot of backtracking and behind-the-scenes work. (SO MUCH BACKTRACKING) Pretty much every event broke. I have to resprite all the portraits to match the vanilla-size because HD Portraits is still not updated. The schedules need fixing.

But despite all of that, the station bundles are done! We also redid the house exterior for submas because it was ugly. I did not know how to do pixel art a year ago. Nor did I know how to decorate maps. They have a whole new area off to the side of the Railroad now!

We hot potatoed that map so much. First Thylak would work on it. Then I did. Then back to him...

Still need to get around to adjusting their schedules to switch their coordinates to the new map when they're working on the Railroad. Previously, they were just pacing around in the various empty areas of the Railroad. Now they have trains.

The house itself was actually two different structures with a seperate clock tower but then we decided it looked better overlapping the bit of roof peeking out. It's much less flat now.

Submas have a mailbox that adheres to Stardew's perspective.

No longer is the house a cardboard cut out with shading and lighting. LOL (I didn't know how to sprite buildings!!! I put all my effort into Emmet's walk cycle!)

Also speaking of mail boxes... since it been a year; I'm sure all ya'll are curious to how we do our modding, story, etc. We encourage you to hit the mail car button and ask away (so many of you already have) But since it's been a year. Go Crazy.

But I will nip the common asks tho.

Some Common Asks.

"Is this mod SVE (Stardew Valley Expanded) Compatible?"

No.... Unfortunately due to the complexity of both mods. (Ours due to railroad being used. And SVE already expanding on a bunch of stuff) It will just be compatible with vanilla and any mods that does not replace or edit the railroad (majorly).

We did move submas's house over to the side so it won't overlap the farm it adds or impede any space that you want to use the Railroad's empty spots of land for, but it's still very much a "play at your own risk" type of thing. I'm not familiar enough with SVE to code compatibility for it (not familiar at all actually... I don't play the game enough! All my time is spent working on the mod! All I do is stare at google docs and type walls of text! I'm not interested in SVE anyways for personal reasons.)

SVE is infamous in the modding scene since it changes pretty much every map and steps on other mods with incompatibility. I don't want to deal with making two seperate events with the coordinates/movements edited for compatibility. It should be compatible with most other expansion mods like Ridgeside Village or East Scarp since they mostly keep to their seperate areas and not edit things unless necessary (like submas do now)! SVE changes too much to gurantee compatibility and for the sake of my sanity I won't provide it. If it works, great. If it doesn't, pick and choose for that save.

So.. SVE and our mod. Incompatible....

"Release Date?"

Unfortunately it is still undetermined! (Due to our busy schedules.)

There's actually not much new content planned until we're ready for initial release, we mostly have a lot of behind the scenes cleanup and backtracking. I saw someone say that most of the meat from the grocery store are actually all hens and I couldnt help but laugh because that is not true and im not sure why they were confidently telling people that lol

The chicken you buy at the grocery store is usually a mix of both male and female chickens but anyway im betting that train of thought came from them seeing the meat labeled as "Hen" in the grocery store and their brain saw the hen part and ran with it. They likely saw something like this packaging below.

For the people who do not know the only difference between those tiny cornish game "hen" carcasses and the other larger ones is just their butcher date and has nothing to do with the gender of the bird, both of the carcasses below are both typical CornishX meat birds and they could both be male for all we know.

Now something else that might have confused this person- google has a huge problem with AI/bot written articles and posts that just grab information from other places on the internet (sometimes other bot articles) then these articles just regurgitate it in a somewhat comprehensible mess. When you look up what a cornish game hen is you get some articles that state the same rehashed sentence of they are hens that dont lay well so they are used as meat which isnt entirely correct.

The Indian Game hen/ Cornish Game are an actual breed that was used to make modern meat birds. The CornishX is basically a multi generational cross and not an actual breed.

Now the Cornish BREED, is well known for not having the best egg laying ability, they are mostly raised for meat or ornamental purposes. The hens dont lay as well as some production breeds so they can be culled along with roosters but breeders tend to keep the hens to continue the flock since this is a very slow growing rare breed.

The CornishX on the other hand (which is what most birds at the gorcery store are) is incompatible with life. They do not live long even if you tried your hardest their bodies grow so fast and at such a rate their bodies cant keep up. Its very rare for a hen to make it laying age but from what i have heard they arent necessarily unproductive when they do because the CornishX does have leghorn in their ancestry. So the CornishX isnt butchered because it doesnt lay enough eggs its butchered because it grows extremely fast and is typically incompatible with life. Its a bird that has been selected for meat production and meat production only it doesnt matter if its a hen or a rooster.

It really hard for a bot article to really get that nuance across though so i guess thats how misinformation spreads.

Lololol, I love how Céline like... freezes whenever she sees a co-worker presenting unusually. Be it Adam without a beard or Morgane in fancy clothes, it never ceases to amuse me 😅 But yea, Céliane vibes all the way 🤗

Also let's not forget how Adam's eyes were falling out of their sockets when he saw Morgane climbing off the car (in his defense, she does look amazing in his clothes lol), so it's very likely that he really enjoyed that she came to the date in her "bourge coinços V2" outfit, this man probably has a kink and now I can't stop imagining the kind of roleplay they'd be into if they were a couple 🙈

The date was SO fun!!!! I've said this before, but a few months ago I had this idea of a disastrous date fic about them, and I just LOVE that the show went this way, it was just SO them, the out-of-sync-ness, le malaise absolu, "et sinon vous êtes allée au cinéma ?", "Ninja Warrior, c'est japonais ?", somebody puts them out of their misery already 😅😅😅, the fact that they only get their chemistry back as soon as they talk shop... Ranir awkwardly standing in front of the table after bringing the wine (btw, "Ranir, le Languedoc s'il te plaît", is it me or did they imply that Adam knows all of Ranir's wines list? This man takes ONE glass of wine at a housewarming and now he's a patented alcoholic I'm losing my mind here) was HILARIOUS, as was Morgane cheering with him out of despair 😆 Also I can't help thinking that Ranir has seen Adam bring all his dates here, he must bet with himself on how many times he'll see this one again, c'est sa télénovela à lui lol!

And I'm with you on the contrast between the deep connection they share, but also their absolute incompatibility regarding mundane things, that's the kind of stuff we want in this house!! 🥹🥹 The décryptage argument was a great moment too, especially when lit up with Morgane's bad faith (but also Adam's inability to call a date a date lol), ambulant disasters 😅

And then cue the case-solving where Adam BLATANTLY is only thinking about kissing Morgane, and they work her way (🥹) and end up in a post-orgasmic haze (it's been two episodes in a row where the final resolution sounds like they're having/just had sex, just saying) where he ASKS HER OUT AGAIN BE STILL MY BEATING HEART ⚰️⚰️

All of this was such a great scene altogether and I agree with you, we need more of this gut-wrenching angst of Morgane taking bad decisions not to be a burden and actually making things worse 😈 Something tells me 308 will deliver in that regard...😏

another long vent about my ex lol

okay so. my transmasc ex, who i thought was only into amab people (aka technically heterosexual sex-wise), is happily going on dates w another transmasc guy who passes as male. and they say that they don't care if they actually pass as a straight woman as long as they're dating someone who passes as male. they'd rather pass as straight than as a lesbian. they're more fem now. i can't stop thinking abt how they showed regret abt top surgery once (asked me if breasts could regrow, hopeful, looking crushed when i said no) and once had a period questioning aligning w womanhood in some way, but they said they related to transfem experiences and felt like they lived as a trans woman since they passed as that, the struggles of it and really wanting to get laser for their hrt facial hair... and then i, who was an ultra over-the-top transfem ally at the time, invalidated them by saying they needed to remember it's not the same as trans women and they're more privileged as an afab person. after both those instances they shut down and never mentioned relating to womanhood again.

so they're only into male-passing people. they thought i would transition so they tried dating me, but i identified as partially female and then fully female and they got distant and started acting like a tough macho man instead of their natural personality and femininity, bc i guess if they're more masc they needed to act like The Man Of The House and consistently pass as male (which they later said they hated). bc if they were openly fem and pass as female w me we would pass as lesbians and that was their worst nightmare with dysphoria. i guess radfem-wise they're bisexual in the technical sense, but only wanna date a male-passing person. which is valid. i feel dumb for still feeling a bit hurt... as a detrans woman i'm like damn, if only i had transitioned... but i would've been repressing my true self and been miserable. and we're incompatible in many ways anyway. but oof

and now they're dating a transmasc person who lives as male... i'm happy for them, it suits them better. i was never enough, and honestly they were never enough for me either... they were almost never affectionate w me for yearssss but now they're loveydovey abt this guy and all romantic. they had wanted to breakup for years but lied bc they thought i couldn't survive without them as a disabled woman (who had lived without them before and did just fine!!! but whatever). and they fantasized about men all that time, and thought of men when we had sex, and hated their life. it SUUUUCKS. how do i even cope with all of that. it all started bc we were roommates and they kept trying to makeout w them while drunk, then apologizing the next day and pretending nothing happened. i always said "no, do it sober instead." i had to call them out on it one day and ask them if they wanted to date. only one of their alters did, they said yes, we dated. more and more alters paired up romantically, but the alters dating parts of me barely fronted. they had a looot of religious trauma, and were raised in heavy homophobia, so them being with an afab person was a huge deal i think. it's good that they openly happily go on dates w another afab person, i guess... i thought for sure it would be amab people only. most of the ppl they showed me on their dating app were amab. but yeah, good for them. it feels like some form of closure. still feels weird, but i'm relieved too, happy for them as their best friend. at least the reason they weren't into me wasn't my sex/agab. it was bc i wasn't on testosterone (anymore) and didn't get top surgery, and didn't identify as nonbinary or male. i still have mixed feelings, it was such a crazy complicated journey... but whatever, it's over. i can finally move on to hot girls who actually truly want me as i am and hopefully eventually find my person <3 i'm so tired emotionally though lol. if you read all of this bs you're a real one ily 💜💜 i would also love some radfem thoughts on this?? idk

Would Griffith and Guts ever actually work as a pair or even just friends? Even if they got past their own issues, would that relationship had any chance of blossoming into something more? I remember reading someone talking about if they got their issues resolved they would just found out they are completely incompatible witch each other. Well I definitely disagree with whoever's take you were reading. I absolutely think they're very compatible interpersonally.

Granted I can see why others might not see that, because we don't get many scenes of them just hanging out - rather we're told that they happen all the time, and we have to fill in the blanks ourselves.

But we are told that they happen. Guts has visted Griffith in his fancy nobleman room enough times to notice when he buys new books. Owen's strongest memory of Guts is seeing him at Griffith's side all the time, chilling with him. Griffith's climactic memory of Guts when he's about to sacrifice him is a mundane moment where they're just hanging out after a battle.

We don't get to see these moments, but they're given a lot of narrative significance, because they reflect Guts and Griffith's relationship.

They're comfortable with each other - the way Guts casually wants to visit Griffith after Zodd and has to be punched out so he doesn't interrupt the noblemen visiting him already. Relatedly, the way Griffith's ascension into the nobility drives a little artificial wedge between them that frustrates both of them (see Griffith bitching about the noblemen when he visits Guts on the stairs). They hang out and share porn before Griffith asks Guts to kill a guy lol. Their first bonding moment was a waterfight in which Griffith was naked. Guts spends like half the time between the rescue and the Eclipse holding Griffith. They're pretty emotionally and physically intimate.

They might not seem that compatible at a glance, but there's a reason "opposites attract" is a cliche.

Also on a surface level I think they make sense as good friends (or more) honestly - they actually remind me of several friendships I've had lol. As someone who, like Guts, has very little ambition, is chill, down to earth, and a bit introverted, and has several much more ambitious, more charismatic, more sociable friends, it's a pretty workable dynamic. I do more stuff and get more opportunities to try new things with those friends, and they get to relax and enjoy a low pressure environment with me. And I think in the story we can see shades of that vibe.

Though that said, I don't think it really matters whether they'd make sense as good friends/lovers if they were real, because a) the world is a vast place and contains multitudes and I'm sure you can take any two types of people and find them in a happy relationship somewhere, and b) it's a fictional story. We're essentially told that they love each other and had the potential to be very happy together in some capacity, we occasionally see glimpses that show us that they work well together interpersonally, and that's all we should need. If it goes against what someone might expect from a real life couple, well, that reflects more on their worldview and their experiences than it reflects on the characters in the story, imo.

Well, there ARE things we can do, if the initiative/political will existed. SCOTUS was set at its current size of 9 seats back in the 1860s, where there were 9 judicial circuits. Now there are 13, so expanding it to 13 SCOTUS justices would make a lot of sense. That or initiate term limits for serving justices, or otherwise ensure that we're not ruled by an unaccountable cadre of nine unelected god-kings, three of whom were appointed by an actual traitorous coup-monger and currently can't be removed short of, yes, their death. The Democrats are leery about SCOTUS reform because, as is my main beef with them, they're often worried about looking "too radical," as if the Republicans haven't ruthlessly and repeatedly hijacked it in plain sight. Also, FDR tried to expand it in 1934 and got crushingly shot down, so that the issue of court reform/expansion has been political kryptonite ever since. But yeah, if we don't do something, we are looking at literal multiple decades of this current court able to strike down pretty much whatever they fucking well please.

Obviously, the Republicans and their associated media shills will scream bloody murder about RADICAL DEMOCRATIC COURT PACKING and act as if this is the worst thing that has ever happened, because political gamesmanship is only okay when they do it and they know how powerful the current SCOTUS is for achieving their fascist wet dreams. Hence, of course they don't want it tampered with in any way; it's doing exactly what they designed it to do. However, public trust in SCOTUS has (for good reason) dropped to an all-time low, there is general support for at least some reform, and like I said, we can't just wait for one of the nutcases to kick the bucket. Not least because we might not have a democratic republic any longer by that point, especially if they support the "independent state legislatures" electoral theory in Moore v. Harper. This is the Republicans' goal, wherein state legislatures have the sole power to select their states' electors. That means that if Democrats win the popular vote in states with Republican-held state legislatures, they could just... ignore that, refuse to certify the Democrat's win, and instruct their electors to vote for the Republican instead. And this would somehow be legal. In short, no Democrat would ever be able to win an election again, whether on the federal or state level, which would be the point.

Anyway. It's all fucking terrible. But yeah. SCOTUS in its current configuration is incompatible with the survival of America as a democratic republic, it wants to take personal and civil rights back to the 19th century or earlier, and there will be no way to just ignore that and try to work around it for much longer. It's broken, Big Time.

I see a lot of people say that it looks like Gojo and Geto hold hands at first (and that would be sweet, even in a platonic way (I don’t ship them lol)) but it wouldn’t make sense. Gojo is running, sprinting even, whereas Geto is standing, hands in his pockets and feet secured on the ground, if there were to be holding each others, Geto would fall face first on the ground haha

No, Geto is standing, next to a running Gojo, slightly turned to his right, where Riko is. Riko who is falling towards him and maybe even reaching out for him to catch her.

See where I’m going ?

Gojo is moving forward, without a look back, breaking every obstacles on his way, smiling thinking his best friend is next to him. And he is, but that will not last.

Geto is not moving, like he was unable to move forward after Riko’s death. So there he is, enjoying the brief, temporary moment where he is with his friends. And each one of them is still innocent, and joyful, doomed to be separated, because if you’re careful, they are unknowingly running away from the blue spring, not knowing it would be their last one. The bright sky is behind them and they’re entering some sort of building (?), leaving behind them the blue spring along with their innocence.

This whole scene is not meant to last, soon, Geto will be left standing with Riko in his arms, and with Toji responsible for her death, unable to move forward, and Gojo will keep going (and I am NOT saying he forgot Riko and Geto, ofc he never did, just saying he kept going with his life as best as he could)

And of course, how could I not talk about Toji. I kinda think he looks a bit goofy in the shadow, upside down, with one hand in his (dirty) hair and the other on his hip but anyway.

Toji is standing behind, without any of them aware of his presence despite him being pretty close, or at least not too far.

Like Kuroi, he could be there because he is frequently present in this arc (and has a big impact obviously) but lets push our analysis (I hope I’m not reaching too much)

As I said, Toji doesnt seem too far away when you compare him with Kuroi.

Simple thing first, Gojo doesn’t notice him at all, could be a hint to say that he doesn’t have any cursed energy.

His presence could also symbolizes Geto’s upcoming problems, let me explain :

Geto’s morals were incompatible with his job as an exorcist, so he was going to break down at some point. But of course he didn’t know that, he didn’t know his morals were going to fuck him up. He accidently ignored it, but it’s here, it always have been, like Toji is standing in his back without him knowing.

I did pull out the other charger and my old cable and charge my phone last night, testing for heat every few seconds, and absolutely nothing. I think it was the charging cable I bought. but guys I'm SO fucking proud of it and I've read basically every other Silver backstory and mine sort of stands alone in being the most extensive and focused example, by which I mean it doesn't venture into canon events, it tells its own story and is a true prequel (perhaps another death knell lmao) but yeah I'm just really proudddddddddddddd of that okay, I did SO MUCH historical research and historical WRITING isn't my strong suit but I killed it

oh also just to like, clarify, I subscribe to the "all and none" Silver backstory mindset. Meaning that, anything we can dream up could be correct and also there's no answer, these facts exist in my mind simultaneously. What they did in the show, leaving it up to the viewer, leaving it implicit? Yeah that was some fucking MASTERCRAFT and I don't mean to say that one *needs* a Silver backstory per se.

So yeah me writing it wasn't some be-all-end-all statement, but it Was an intensive character study exercise for why I thought he might turn out the way he did.

They’d been set apart from the other boys, both too clever by half, opportunists who understood each other almost too well. Solomon was always teaching John--how to scale the rigging, the nautical knots, the best hiding places on a ship. He remembered the easy affection the older boy had expressed and the wedge it had driven between them, that John had put there. The recollection pained him and he slapped the side of the ship in anger. As usual, John was too late to recognize and appreciate anything good.

No. A rational voice pushed back. Solomon was a fool.
