Im getting a little tired of all the reveals too, but I still feel like we're in store for at least one more (I really dont want Dad for One either tho, I feel like it weakens the story). It'll probably be wherever Monoma and Inasa's group is, but I'd also be interested to figure out who the traitor is. Do you have any theories on the UA traitor? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I think it’s possible that we’ll get the UA Traitor as the final twist in this arc to help some of the villains escape or to last-minute do a huge damage to the hero side.

I was very lukewarm about the UA Traitor, but I’ve started to feel some interest in it now - I think it would make sense for it to come into play at the end of this arc, to add to the emotional fall-out, as well as to set up future arcs. It’s foreshadowed that if it will be revealed, it will be done the next time the League makes a move.

Also, LoV will need new members, even just to replace Twice’s spot, so instead of introducing new characters, an existing one could be put into a new environment.

In order to assess candidates, I think we need to ask ourselves the following questions:

Would they have the means to do it (right quirk, where were they in the Forest and USJ attacks)?

Was there any foreshadowing (clue, name, etc)?

Who would it hit in terms of narrative? What kind of arcs or growth can come out of it?

Unlike the Dabi reveal, where Horikoshi did not hide at all where the plot was going, the UA traitor is a real puzzle, with obscure hints here and there, which have completely muddied the field and cast suspicion on almost everyone. Enough to make wild guesses and speculations, but not solid enough to know for sure. So let’s go through the most prominent candidates:

Class A students

I think the general feeling is that a prominent and well-liked student of Class A is the most devastating candidate, and it would also give way to integrating Shinsou into this class.

Kaminari:

Pros: long-time favourite suspect, with some foreshadowing like the MLA secret hand signal or the villain in Overhaul with a similar hair as his. His quirk can jam or transmit signals, which makes him a feasible candidate. He’s also the most prominent student we know nothing about. He’s close to Bakugou, Kirishima, Sero and Jirou and generally well-liked (also shown with the Tokoyami flashbacks this arc). It would be devastating for the class.

Cons: in this arc he was on the frontlines, he also got pretty hurt by Mr Compress when trying to take down Machia.

Verdict: One of the best candidates that could deepen Kaminari’s character and send shockwaves through the class.

Uraraka:

Pros: not much for this theory other than her parents are poor and she’s voiced at some point that she wanted to be a hero to earn money. It would hurt Deku.

Cons: I think it’s a pretty weak theory. We have tons of inner monologues of Ochako that point to how her motivations are changing. There is nothing that hints to a hidden motivation.

Verdict: I think this would be an asspull honestly.

Hagakure:

Pros: Well, she’s invisible, so plenty of opportunity, easy to explain what she did and how she did it. Her motivation could be to have AFO take away her quirk, because it seems like she doesn’t like being invisible. The OP 3 ending visual.

Cons: She’s not that high profile among the students, it wouldn’t be devastating for the audience. I think this last is a valid argument, though she’s friends with every girl in the class, as well as some of the boys like Ojirou and Aoyama, so it could be used to focus attention on the girls for once.

Verdict: Pretty straightforward choice. Nothing spectacular, but if handled well it could be interesting.

Shoji:

Pros: His quirk makes it easy to spy - he has as many ears as he wants. His face is always covered from eyes down (hmmm, could be significant with the Compress reveal???). His room was totally bare. His name comes from a quote "walls have ears, doors have eyes" ("壁に耳あり障子に目あり" kabe ni mimi ari shōji ni me ari?) Another fairly well-loved student among his peers. Particularly devastating for Tokoyami.

Cons: He’s such a good bean, that it’s hard to see what would motivate him, but Horikoshi did promise a backstory.

Verdict: I think this is one of the strongest choices.

Deku (via 4th quirk):

Pros: There does seem to be a nexus between AFO and OFA that could have allowed AFO to see things through Deku’s eyes. The traitor activity disappearing coincides with AFO being locked into Tartarus. More OFA lore that eventually could give some very risky way to see into AFO’s plans, but at a high cost if All Might’s worry about the 4th user is founded.

Cons: It’s a bit of a cop-out as there is no real traitor. It’s all unintentional.

Verdict: I think this is an OK choice (not my favourite), but would push the traitor plot into more OFA stuff.

Aoyama

Pros: He’s not seen in USJ, he’s hiding in the Forest. Trouble with his quirk. A bit of a forced plot to make him friends with Deku.

Cons: Another student who is not really an audience favourite and has no strong links in the class.

Verdict: OK choice, but not great.

Others: If we look at the LoV needs, the ones near the hospital who could come in on a pinch are Tsuyu (no real foreshadowing, but impactful character), Uraraka (see above), Kouda (no foreshadowing, extremely low profile character).

Class B students

I think since we don’t know Class B as well as Class A and we are not really attached to them, this one is a weaker choice.

Monoma

Pros: He’s the highest profile class B student. He can copy any quirk. So people made links of his quirk to that of AFO or one being used by Ujiko. We have no eyes on him in this arc, so he could be a total deus ex machina both at the hospital or mansion side.

Cons: No solid cons, just making the antipathic student a traitor is pretty meh? It also wouldn’t really shake any of the characters we know.

Verdict: Pretty lame choice.

Faculty

The faculty excluded themselves, but honestly there is no evidence to exclude them. On the other hand, we only have emotional attachment to a few of them - and Aizawa and All Might can be excluded.

Present Mic

Pros: Used to be a popular suspect, based on his remarks at the first meeting. Obviously would devastate Aizawa.

Cons: His backstory with Shirakumo makes it very unlikely he’d collaborate with the villains. Also, Aizawa doesn’t need any more devastation - he’s got plenty.

Verdict: Very unlikely at this point.

Recovery Girl

Pro: she knows everyone, even All Might’s secret, has access to everything in school. Her quirk is similar to Ujiko’ s and the regeneration the nomu have. She’s an institution within UA, so would affect all staff, students, but also many pros who are pro heroes themselves. She could become LoV grandma, giving lollipops to Shigaraki and co. Would raise the stakes for training injuries.

Con: motivation is a big question mark, but could be explored. Hard to see how she could be of help in the current arc.

Verdict: solid candidate. Probably the best non-student choice.

Other faculty members - Nezu, Vlad King (not in the raid), Ectoplasm, Snipe, (seen at hospital but not since), Thirteen (presumed dead), Midnight (pretty injured, not very likely) could all be viable candidates, but it feels like such a reveal would not have a lot of emotional impact. I also can’t really see any of them as good additions to the LoV.

Eraserhead / Shouta Aizawa

favorite thing about them: uhhhHHH everything tbh! Aizawa was honestly the first character after Izuku to really climb up into my favourite characters list. I love his design, his quirk, his personality...god everything. he absolutely probably was/is my first bnha ‘crush’ like sjfhgdjsjdj i love him so much even if i dont really talk about him

i find his quirk really neat and his hero costume is really simple but fits. i love how in vigilantes he also tends to stick very much to how he is in canon. i also find him extremely fun to write. i’ve also been told that im a sort of mix personality wise of him and izuku. we are both tired and love cats. he’s great

also young aizawa in vigilantes is baby and i love him. sm

least favorite thing about them: n...nothing. hmm...if i had to choose something? probably how intimidating and cold he can seem sometimes. but it suits him

favorite line: "There’s nothing crueler than letting a dream end midway.”

brOTP: he, yamada, midnight and tensei. i also love the friendship between him, yamada and shirakumo in vigilantes

OTP: honestly it used to be erasermic but shirakumo x aizawa all the way baby!!

random headcanon: i love the hc’s where people have him possibly related to izuku through either inko or hisashi. izuku deserves to have a great hero family member

unpopular opinion: idk tbh! i dont know any unpopular opinions about aizawa...except for maybe, i’ve seen some people say he’s a bad teacher? mostly because we’ve seen evidence that he’s training shinsou whilst we havent got that much evidence about class 1-a, when in reality he probably doesn’t even really take over most of the actual training? that or its just. not shown. horikoshi wont show us every training session obviously

favorite thing about them: i really like how he’s shown to be this loud guy with a loud quirk yet he someone juggles three jobs!! three!! thats dedication right there! he’s probably the character who is so tired that he really isn’t tired anymore. i think he’s great and wholesome. a good loud cockatoo man

least favorite thing about them: lack of focus in the manga! he’s not a personal favourite of mine tbh although he’s still good! i just wish we got more time to explore his character more

favorite line: “My M.C soul! It’s reached it’s limit!”

favorite thing about them: design for sure. in canon he’s considered to be a scary hero but i think its rather enduring. he’s a whale whats not to love

also how he dealt with the fiasco between todoroki and inasa during the provisional license exam arc. he was not putting his guard down/going easy for their sake. also. EXTRA GUIDANCE!!!

least favorite thing about them: nothing really! since he’s not been shown a whole heap i guess there’s not much to dislike

favorite line: “You all are lower than benthos, let alone heroes! You’re nothing but goby feces!”
