RUBY IS SMOKE SO BASED HOLY SHIT. thoughts on that?
I'm absolutely a Ruby is Smoke truther.
She is Firestar's half-sister, and Scourge boots her and Socks off of Bloodclan turf without a meal. He wants nothing to do with his siblings. He won't forgive them until later in his life.
Ruby and Socks wander the area, but sadly, Socks passes from starvation. Ruby's loud crying attracts the attention of a kind elderly woman who just lost a cat herself. She takes Socks' body and buries him in her backyard, while taking Ruby in to care for her. Not knowing Ruby's name, she names her Smoke.
Smoke takes to it well, the old woman is nice! She's got great food, and when Smoke is good, she gets chicken off the woman's plate!
But... It's scary. What if she's abandoned again?
When the old woman's mind begins to fail, feeding times get inconsistent, and Smoke panics. It's going to happen again. Maybe being a housecat isn't so great, maybe being wild would be nicer. Her new friend Onewhisker's always going on about how great and heroic Windclan are... How everyone is so wonderful and always takes care of each other... It must be perfect!
She has no idea Onewhisker is lying, making up hero stories not only to look better but to feel better. He hates being in Windclan, and longs for the safety and security that being a kittypet would bring.
They clung to each other, they were never in love, they loved what the other one would bring.
When Smoke gave birth, she only had a single kitten, Darkkit. She brought him to the Windclan border, and Onewhisker, thinner than usual, told her no. That she and Darkkit couldn't join Windclan, not now, not ever.
She didn't understand, and Onewhisker didn't admit why. Rabbits were sick, the moor was being destroyed, she would be safer away from the moor, and he wanted to go with her but... Tallstar was so sick, so weak, he couldn't handle Onewhisker leaving, he was still strong enough to keep helping, keep hunting... And the political atmosphere in Windclan at the time was very unaccepting of outsiders. Onewhisker's father Mudclaw was deputy.
He needed to be mean enough that Smoke wouldn't come back.
Smoke raised Darktail with love, and hate. She was always telling him he was better than other cats, that one day he would destroy the Clans and make them pay for their unfairness... But to also be a good boy, be kind to others, help others out. Everyone is as important as Kin.
He would twist these words.
Smoke dies around the time of late OOTS, her age catching up with her. Darktail's heart was broken, the only cat he ever loved was his Mama, and he would destroy his father in her name.
Her spirit resides in the same realm all Kittypets get to go to, she hangs out with Socks, Quince, and Scourge, as well as the kind elderly woman. She is sad her son turned out the way he did, and wishes to see him again one day.

Her right ear flops a little bc of a nick she received after she got kicked out of her house
Her appearance happens to be fairly close to WC beauty standards, so she ends up having kits w/ a WC tom. Not Onestar tho, but another guy named Bristlelight
She has a passing resemblance to Crystal
Has a unique tortie pattern
Greatly resembles Nightcloud, and by extension, a certain resentful tom...

Mocha and Nutmeg are both Abyssinians. And I forget who came up with the headcanon, but Quince is a singapura cat which is why Scourge is so small. I also like to headcanon crystal as a Turkish angora mix.
Also because there is no info about them, I made Ferris and Whiskers girls.

probably? I haven't decided yet how exactly that interaction will go down. Tinysnow being raised in the clans leads to him being instilled with a strong sense of honor and has a fair bit more mercy than Canon Scourge. He's still very spiteful of course though, so I don't see the encounter going well

Jake's first litter for my drawing series!
Ruby died as mean as she started, maybe even more so. Begging her brother for food wasn't her turning point, unfortunately.
It was, however, for Socks, who realised his mistakes and grew from them. He now travels around as a friendly loner learning and telling stories to the cats he meets.
Scourge is teeny and looks like that lanky teenage cat phase permenantly. He was a kitten, not even apprentice age, when he ran from home, though bloodclan acts like they dont know that. His clan calls him Sir, aside from Bone and Brick, who call him boss like a mafia character.

Kittypets Read Update
So, I’ve let my readers on AO3 know, and I decided I should probs make a post on here just in case anybody missed it.
I’ve decided to cancel Kittypets Read for now.
The editing, suspensions, ect are all just driving me up the wall and making me frustrated. It’s preventing me from working on my other projects, like Burning Thistles, A Vision of A, my Star Wars Incorrect Quotes, my first SW fanfic, and reworking Halfblooded.
So yeah. I’m really sorry about this. BUT!!! I do plan on returning to it one day - no promises when, but I do love KPR!
Maybe I can post the chapters here on tumblr for you all to read (am I allowed to do that? If you know plz let me know!)
But for now it’s been put on hold.

what if Jake twolegs take custody of quince kits after quince died of some sickness and Jake teaches ruby and socks that is not okay to bully cats?
(bloodclan founder is brick in this au and socks is father of smudge)
I have arisen from the ASHES!!!! Sorry I was gone for a while, but I'm back!! Anyway, onto the story! >:)
...
So, Quince dies from sickness and her kits are all heartbroken. Before their twolegs could give them away, Jake comes by to take them with him.
After a while, Jake notices how Socks and Ruby treat Tiny. Although he is rightfully disturbed and angry, he calmly pulls them aside and begins to explain to them that what they are doing to Tiny is not okay.
Socks and Ruby scoff at him at first, but they soon realize that he's right. Other kittypets avoid them because of how mean they are. They begin to be nicer to Tiny. At first, he doesn't believe his sibings have changed for the better. After giving himself time, he decides to forgive Socks and Ruby and starts to warm up to them.
Seeing that they are truly changing their attitude, other kittypets warm up to Socks and Ruby as well. Jake just watches on proudly.
Socks, Ruby, and Tiny eventually go to live lives of their own. They all remain in twolegplace, but their stories differ.
Socks meets a friendly molly and they become very close. They eventually have Smudge, Rusty's beloved friend. Ruby lives quietly with her twolegs. Unlike her father, she prefers to stay within the walls of her twolegs' yard and will venture no further.
Finally, Tiny inherited his father's taste for adventure. One day, he ventured out to the city where he came across Bloodclan. At first, he tried to be friendly, but he soon realized that Brick (the leader) and his gang of bloodthirsty cats were not interested in friendship. He was harshly driven away by them and barely escaped with his life. Tiny decided that was the end of city travel, but not travel elsewhere. After going out into the forest behind his yard a few times, he decided the atmosphere was much nicer there and wants to go further. However, he still prefers his cozy house and doesn't go too too far!

Book 1 Chap 1: Prologue
Princess trotted down to her mother, Nutmeg’s, housefolk’s den. She and her siblings had decided to visit their mother. The tabby she-cat sighed. Well, almost all her siblings. Firestar, formally Rusty, had left the forest a while ago, and she missed him and her son, Cloudtail, everyday.
“Princess!” a call sounded. Princess let out a purr when she saw her brother Tommy. Tommy was the second oldest in the litter, preceded by Luna, but came before Filou, herself, and Firestar.
“Tommy! How are you doing?” Princess said, and gave her brother’s ear a lick.
“Great!” the chocolate tom replied. “Come on! Filou and Luna are already here!” the two padded the rest of the way side by side.
“Finally!” a she-cat yowled. “We thought you were never coming!” Luna was a chocolate and ginger tortoiseshell with green eyes. She had toms tripping over themselves for her affections, but as far as Princess knew, Luna hadn’t taken a mate. Beside Luna was their brother Filou. He was a light ginger tabby with green eyes. (All of the siblings had green eyes.)
“My kits!” a voice shouted. It was their mother Nutmeg. She was a pretty chocolate and white tabby with green eyes. She ran over and licked them all.
“Mother!” Tommy protested. “We’re not kits anymore!”
“To me you are.” she flicked his nose with her tail. Then she realized something. “Wait, where’s Rusty?” Nutmeg looked around for her youngest. Princess looked at her paws.
“I haven’t seen him for moons.” Luna said. “It’s like he vanished off the face of the earth!” Tommy drew a paw over his ear as Princess shuffled her paws.
“I know where he’s at.” she meowed softly. Her littermates and mother stared at her. “You know those tales of wild cats in the forest, before it was torn down?” They nodded. “Well, Rusty decided that he wanted to join them, and he did. Last I saw him was when the Twolegs were tearing down the woods, and Smudge told me that Cody told him that the wild cats, who live in Clans, decided they had to leave or they would have all starved.” That left her family speechless.
“So…” Filou said. “Rusty’s gone?” Princess nodded slowly.
“He didn’t die, at least, not yet.” she reassured them. Nutmeg sat on her haunches, looking numb. Luna began licking their mother’s head.
“I wish we knew what happened to him.” Tommy said. They all nodded.
Suddenly, the wind picked up and swirled around. A bright burst of stars momentarily blinded them, but when everything settled down, they realized they were now no longer alone.
“Jake!” Nutmeg purred as she and her mate touched noses. Jake had died a long time ago, and she missed him dearly. But, it wasn’t just Jake that was with them now. Jake’s mother Crystal (Who was also dead) was there too.
“Princess?” said cat turned and saw a white tom.
“Oliver!” Oliver was Princess’s mate, and the father of Cloudtail and the rest of their kits. Speaking of their kits, the other four were there as well. Taylor and Zach, both toms, and Livy and Nami, both she-cats.
“Mother! Father!” Oliver and Princess’s kits greeted them.
“F-father?” a voice stuttered. Jake recognized it.
“Ruby? Socks?” he said. It was. Two of the kits he had with Quincy were there. Ruby had died when a monster ran her over, but Socks had found a new housefolk to live with.
“What’s going on?” a she-cat asked.
“Hattie!” Princess exclaimed. “Smudge! Cody!” Once the greetings were done, everyone looked around, seeing they were in a sparkly forest, and confused at why they were all there at all.
“Hello.” everyone jumped. Sitting there was a blue she-cat with some silver on her muzzle and a mangy gray she-cat with amber eyes. What confused the kittypets even more was that they both had stars in the fur. The blue furred cat stepped forward.
“Greetings, I am Bluestar, former leader of Thunderclan. The clan who lived the closest to this Twolegplace. Yellowfang,” she gestured to the mangy cat “and I heard you wanted to learn about what happened to your littlemate Rusty.”
“Umm,” Smudge said. “Why are Hattie, Cody, and I here then?”
“Well youngster,” Yellowfang said. “All three of you have met Firestar at one point. The only ones who have no clue who he is are those two,” she flicked her tail toward Ruby and Socks. “Now, here is something those mouse-brained Twolegs call a book, and it contains a part about Firestar. You won’t have to read it, you can just listen and whenever someone speaks, it will stop reading and wait until the conversation is finished. What is read out will appear for you to watch. Good day!” Bluestar and Yellowfang disappeared in a shower of stars.
“Well…” Jake said slowly. “I guess we should start.”

Scourge’s whole villain story would have been avoided if his mom had just told him that they were keeping him.
I’m fairly sure that’s why
A) the kids didn’t pay attention to him, why play with the kit you can’t have?
B) his mother told his brother and sister to ‘look adorable,’ but not him
Also I’m pretty sure this bonus part is obvious, but in the off chance that it isn’t, he was so the favourite. And that’s probably why Socks and Ruby bullied him—they were jealous
Which also means that more of his villain story could have been avoided if she treated them all equally
