In the Lion’s Teeth: Chapter Nineteen
cw: drugs, homophobia, ableism, talk of being homeless
It takes you a few minutes to compose yourself once you get behind the wheel, to steady your staggered breathing and trembling hands, but when you finally do, you grit your teeth and shove the key into the ignition and turn.
The engine turns, but doesn't start.
"No," you groan, pulled out long and low in a pathetic whine, but it still doesn't start the second time, the third, the fourth. Finally, you give up, pulling your keys out sharply and banging your head against the steering wheel with a cried, "Fucking hell!"
The wheel smacks your forehead hard, knocking you back and leaving you momentarily disoriented. You rub hard at your face, heels pressed deep against your eyes.
"Fuck," you whisper again.
You can't get a cab; you need that money for whatever the hell the problem with your car is. And the bus is not and never has been an option. There are too many people, too many noises, too much risk for accidental contact and all the fucking screaming.
It's a fifteen minute drive. How long a walk would that be?
You sigh and thrash out at the passenger's seat with your fist, smacking the headrest a few times before getting out of the car and locking it behind you. You kick the hubcap to remind your car how much you hate it, pocket your keys, and start walking.
This week is the last! Chapter nineteen today, chapter twenty on Friday!

so there is this watttpad author and they mostly write team green bases fanfics. Such as Rhaenyra has a daughter with Daemon who she hates and Alicent becomes said daughters mother figure, Rhaenyra gets disinherited. Rhaenyra has an older brother who marries Alicent or if he marries Rhaenyra he cheats on her with Alicent and basically makes Rhaenyras alies adore Alicent for some reason
But when bothers me about this person is that they always make Daemon the bad guy and Rhaenyra the spoilt pick me who is out to ruin Alicent's existence. Oh and they love giving Otto the good father role and make larys strong into a good guy.
Oh… So someone is just writing role reverse AUs? Alicent the perfect mother, Rhaenyra the disinherited, Otto the good father, Larys as the best Strong… Yes, that definitely makes sense!
I understand that fan fiction serves to change history, but I have never been a fan of such intense OOC. In no way, because ffs that completely whiten TB are also available. However, there are many, many fewer of them than the pro TG ones. Which is strange, because most surveys, such as the one from the official HotD account on Twitter, show that there are much more TB people.
So it's just that much fewer people are writing much more completely OOC stuff.

Tom Riddle headcanons because my mental health level is 0.
Imagine being loved.
In the orphanage, he always saw kids being adopted. Sometimes he saw kids from the orphanage with their adoptive parents, happy, laughing, hugging their mothers tightly, giggling, and being happy.
He pretended like he never needed - or wanted - parents but some nights he used to stay awake wondering what it was like to be cared for.
He was ride-or-die type of friends with Orion Black, Abraxas Malfoy and Leonardo Lestrange (Rudolphus Lestrange's father) since his first year. And it wasn't like I'm-only-friends-with-cause-you're-pureblood type of friendship. It was real. (Orion was in his third year when tom, abraxas and Leonardo were in their first.)
In his first year, he used to look at the pure bloods and wonder what their lives were like.
Came up with the death eater mark halfdrunk.
Here me out, it doesn't fit historically but he knew how to play the electric guitar and guitar. It added to his hotness.
Got dimples when he smiled, had the cutest smile. It was rare though.
Could sing well.
Was called 'Loki' by Orion because he was such a good prankster.
Got adorably nervous around girls, he was hella goofy.
He was very good at masking emotions.
Definitely babysat Regulus, Sirius, Lucius, Rudolphus, Rabastan and the other black kids at least once. Loved and hated it at the same time.
