I started with the termagants initially and I eventually came to the conclusion that I hated painting tyranids. It turns out, I just wasn’t painting them in a way I enjoyed (also 20 nearly identical models gets taxing, even with color variations). I decided to use a sponge and a more “loose” style on the leapers and fell back in love with my bugs! Sometime I plan to get a parasite of mortrex because it fits the ichneumon wasp theme perfectly (love parasitoids, my favorite movie is alien).

i get sensory overload when I’m stung by wasps, which happened frequently in the summer, but god dammit if they didn’t leave me lovely gifts

these will mostly be in curiosity boxes and, if I find time to make some, display cloches

The cousin who runs a farm and keeps bees: So, a mouse got into one of the hives, and they covered him with wax and sealed him into the cells. Sure, they stung him to death, and he was in the corner of the hive; I thought he was a clump of honey at first, but no, he was dead and covered in wax.

Me, having read about bees in Terry Pratchett's Lords and Ladies (Only one queen in a hive! Slash!!! Stab!!!): Yeah, that sounds about right.

The whole time I was drawing this I was thinking "no, It's not gross enough! Make it more disgusting." Sure I could draw pretty things, but drawing revolting things is always more fun.
