The point of the threads going down and up in the warp cross is to record their order. There is no deeper meaning to which ones go up vs down. Unless you are doing plain weave, or if you care about mathematical knot theory.
(If you were doing plain weave, there’d be a relevant bonus; but you’re skipping straight ahead to patterns. So ignore whether individual warps go down or up, and just pick whoever is next in the queue.)
At the point where the cross is happening, who can slide freely? That’s who’s next.
Behold, the shitty pixels I made on my phone:
Working manga style from right to left, obviously red is first. Who’s next? Is it yellow? Imagine taking both ends of yellow and dragging the whole yellow thread to the right. It would loop around orange and drag orange along with it. That means that yellow isn’t actually free. Orange comes before yellow. Slide it on over.
Great, we sorted that out. Who’s next? We’ve got green looking pretty similar to how yellow looked last time. Does that mean green can’t move?
Imagine grabbing both ends of green and dragging it to the right. It slides freely, without making anyone else come along with it. That means green is free, and it’s the next in the queue.
The point of the warp cross is that *if you correctly isolate it*, it physically prevents you from sliding the wrong thread.
*Once you know where the cross is* you literally don’t have to guess or remember anything.
You can put it down and walk away and forget everything and come back and know which warp is the next one to thread. It’s the one that slides freely *on the edge of the isolated warp cross*.
Ok, why all the weird purple scare quotes? Let’s look at a hypothetical warp that is more fucked up:
If you try to grab both ends of one of of these warps where they meet the edge of the image frame, you won’t be able to slide any of them freely to the right.
Evil wizards twisted things around and even braided some of the ends together.
But! All hope is not lost, because the warp cross is still intact. It’s right there in the center.
We pushed the gray lease sticks as closely together as they possibly could go. If we imagine grabbing a warp just by the points where it crosses the two lease sticks, we can see that everything is already set up to slide freely in the correct order.
So, all that’s left to do is to untangle the warp ends so that they neatly flow from the warp cross.
Remember, the warps only appear to cross over each other in the “warp cross” if you view it from the side. (Like you did when you were winding it on your warping board.)
The actual definition of the warp cross is the place where the warp crosses from being on top of one lease stick to being on the bottom of the other one.

truly nothing on this earth is more foul than supernatural familial abuse discourse but specifically the discourse people have about if sam or dean "had it worse" like ok cool you have already missed the point of this show very hard.
#the things ive seen in those trenches.....#its like actually their circumstances were based on their positionality in the family and the expectations each had#but on another level the discourse never truly explores what sams life was like as a child. hes either a spoiled brat or a martyr#in ways that make him one dimensional in ways fanon child dean just. isnt.#sam isnt just isolated. hes also controlled and surveilled. any wrong move (unbeknownst to him) proves to john hes irredeemable#like the center of john telling dean he might have to kill sam. is always dean like i feel crazy with how little consideration there is#toward the mental headspace of a guy whose whole childhood is suddenly warped by the realization his father suspected he was evil#and might need to be put down like a dog. and then. sam accepts this!!!! he truly believes is he Crosses A Line dictated by deans judgement#then oops oh well! because fundamentally sam has been conditioned to believe in his own inability to make decisions about himself#so the 'dean protects sam! dean keeps sam innocent and gave him a childhood' becomes much more insidious when u realize#that is one side of the coin wherein sam is under the complete authority of another person#and obv dean is not evil for that. its learned behavior!!#but instead of teasing out this reality when we learn what john told dean... it becomes aww poor dean :(( instead of a horrific glimpse int#the hierarchy of information and control fundamental to their relationship. guys its a cult.#my posts#spn

Peter probably didn’t care too much about the multiverse or canon (hence why he never really took the chase seriously) cause he is like the canon Peter Parker. He is 616B Peter, the B because the events of ITSV and ATSV have basically created a separate 616 Peter (one now exists never went through the events).
Up until the movies every canon event was based on his life and all the trauma and heart ache he has gone through. Can you possibly blame him for not caring too much about a canon that subjects everyone in it to versions of his pain? Peter saying “It’s crazy to run.” to Miles cause he tried to run from all this, leave it in the past only to be thrusted into a place that treats his past present and future like scripture.
Peter likely understood that he owed a lot to Miles for essentially breaking him out of his own self-fulfilling prophecy, though he realized it too late to stop or truly plead with Miguel.
#my belief is that the B is bascically just saying that they are the b universe now#miles universe is the correct universe for him to be the ultimate spiderman 1610 but it has the b because his poweres and events diverge#cause of the dimensional warping and crossing over so B just defines if you had your events dependent or independent of another spiderman#effectively if you were directly affected by the web of life rather than just going about life as a spider totem#so now theres canon 616 Peter who never got sucked into the portal that follows the comics and 1610 Miles who never meets the others and so#on and so forth as Gwen probably would be in college if the collider hadnt done some displacing#atsv spoilers#atsv#across the spiderverse#spiderverse#into the spiderverse#itsv#peter b parker#spiderman

Never forget that the most accurate official NES emulator is the one in animal crossing GCN. Yeah, the emulator they included in a port of an N64 game is their most authentic. In fact, if you inject NES (or even Famicom Disk System, with a little workaround) ROMs onto a memory card you can play them natively on your gamecube.
