So, emperyum is neat.
But what exactly is it?
I have a theory.
Perhaps it’s stating the obvious, but it seems that emperyum is, to put it plainly, krang blood. Expired krang goo? Something like that.
Now we know that Draxum used emperyum to create the turtles and the oozesquitos that create mutants (or maybe we don’t know that, was that stated in the series? I can’t remember). Also should be noted that emperyum can be used to take someone’s mystics, which is what Krang Prime does in the movie.
So, if the turtles were created using krang blood, that would explain their strength, especially against the likes of the krang. But if the krang blood has mutating like abilities, is it possible, the “fountain” of emperyum in the hidden city is what second handedly, created the Yokai as a whole?
The Krang wouldn’t be directly responsible for this, giving them no real connection in terms of hive mind, but does seem to fit under their umbrella of abilities.
But it would mean that the boys, and all those mutated, would technically be considered Yokai. Even Splinter. Doesn’t change the dynamics between that of humans, Yokai, and mutants seeing as that history may have been lost but it is interesting to think about.
Side line: is it ever explicitly said that Todd is a mutant? Could he have just been a Yokai all along? It would explain why his payments were behind, and why he lived in the woods.

I’m gonna work on my OrnateSwap au! I need to give it more attention and also work more on the other designs of the characters
I’ll share a document of the premise and setting for OrnateSwap once I have that done. But expect some art of Court (OS!Sans) again soon

I’m working on two things right now. Season 4 (obviously) and a few throwback posts between season 1 and 2. These pictures are from this throwback storyline. I didn’t decide which one to post first yet..

Okay IDK that much about crabs, but I’m fairly certain this is a Coconut Crab, which is the largest land-dwelling creature with an exoskeleton. They can crush coconuts with their pincers and this makes them very, very dangerous to deal with (they can break bones apparently)
So I’m going to assume that the gent in this clickbait is about to have his leg or his testicles amputated

Liked your Krang Will Rise post, and I’ve got some Kraang questions. During that dire scene where Kraang gets Leo, Donnie, and Mikey in those black vine things and it seemed to be spreading around them and even in Leo’s case, strangling them. I’m wondering if they were in the brutal process of being “Krangified,” or just slowly drained or killed? I’m not sure, but man it was such an awesome scene when they get their powers back.
Hi! Thanks for the ask!
Someone else asked this in the comments of the Krang Will Rise post, but this gives me a great opportunity to make it a post.
I think the black, possibly dark purple vines like things they were trapped in is a Krang Prime speciality technique, mostly used to hold and torture. A technique specific to Interrogator Krang. It is unlike what Raph was held in earlier in the movie, as that was krang brothers technique.
I think the vines they were in most resemble when Krang Prime interrogated Raphs mind to discover the lair. They are sturdy vines, hard to break out of, but the only real damage it would cause is probably some bruising. Krang Prime was just attempting to stop them, to loss their faith. Keep them away while he desperately tried to keep Raph contained as Krang, but he just couldn’t stop that idiots (being Leo) blabbing.
It is quite possible, that while Raph was krangified, he gained some krang abilities, and the reason all the boys were able to get their mystics back was because Raph gave them back. And the ability disappeared with his escape from Krang. But that’s just a theory.

So I got my dad, the smartest man I know, to watch the Rise movie with me as a seasoned TMNT fan. He likes to collect random facts, loves word play, and reading anything from philosophy to biology. If you haven’t guessed, his favorite turtle is Donatello.
Anyway, regarding the end of the movie. I have always hated how it goes from saving Leo on Staten Island to literally everything is fine now. And that New York looked to be built overnight with no injuries left, and it’s Casey’s first time eating pizza.
My dad came to the conclusion, in consideration of everything, that it’d actually been years. Considering their injuries, the state of New York, the Krang and everything, he said it would’ve taken years for it to be “normal” again.
Also he thought is was unrealistic that April had the same phone as before.

In your opinion, what would Kraang Prime’s plan if he escapes the Prison Dimension again? What would be his revenge, or would he do revenge at all? Would he just go back to his old plans of trying to restore his Empire, just with a different approach since his ship’s gone?
Hi, thanks for the ask!
Oooooooo that’s a really interesting question, if he could escape. Which I could see in a possible exploration of the krang left on the planet and possible possession shenanigans.
If he were to escape, I do think he’d go for revenge. I very much think that matches his motif, considering one of the very first things he said when he came out in the movie was “the people of this planet will pay dearly for what they’ve done to me.”
Any sort of exception to the Krangs strength gives him a personal vendetta, and until he wins, he does not forget. He will prove Krangs strength, and that’s kinda all they got.
There are quite a few ways to get revenge through more than physically beating someone. You could take the Count of Monte Cristo way and slowly have Krang Prime turn the boys against each other, split them apart and take them down one by one. Krang Prime seems to be rather intelligent, if the boys aren’t there when he returns and he manages to seep through some secret crack, it may just work in his favor. In fact, this way makes a lot of sense considering the kind of power they had together versus alone.
Than the entire tension would land on wether the boys are going to figure it out or not. Can they see the puppeteer? Are they gathering the clues?
Of course I don’t think the two ideas need to be mutually exclusive either. You can take over the planet and enact revenge. And strategically speaking, the rest of the planet should be a piece of cake to take over if your greatest threat is gone. He’d likely try to gather his remaining comrades. Krang Sister in containment, and possibly krang brother roaming about disfigured from the ship explosion, if he’s not dead. Perhaps find a couple intelligent humans and krangify them into building you a new ship.
Patience is a virtue, I guess it’s up to you how much the Krang have.

What's your opinion about "rise turtles have save personality, and What you love/dislike the most about the way they written
Hi, thanks for the ask. I’ll try my best to answer the question.
I love how the boys are written like actual teenagers. I have four brothers myself, pretty much all of them have a level of ADHD, so to me their dynamics seemed very realistic. They aren’t perfect at what they do, but they try their best. They tease and fight but always remember they are family first.
Personally I connected with all the boys in different ways watching the series. I’m an odd collection of all their personalities. As the oldest in my family, the nerd, the artist, and the makes jokes when emotions are uncomfortable one.
Rise gives the boys very unique looks, aside from being different species. I think that’s really neat and makes each character identifiable. When I watched the 1987 version with my dad, and the biggest identifiable feature was the mask colors, it was hard to keep track of who was who. I love the Rise backgrounds, and the sewer lair designs. Just so much.
In comparison to the other TMNT iterations I don’t have much information, but I like researching it. I remember when the 2012 version was airing, but I didn’t have cable as a kid. As of now, i have watched half of 12 season one, the 1987 show, and Bayverse movie. I remember really liking Leo as a kid, and then I started really liking Mikey, and now I think I’m back to Leo, but Donnie is a very close second that it levers back and forth.
My friend actually introduced me to Rise while I was watching 2012, and I remember the shift being so harsh I couldn’t watch either of them for a couple weeks. I thought it was weird they made Raph the leader and the oldest, and I didn’t like Leo at first, but I’m a big fan of Ben Schwartz so I was pretty much eating every word. Donnie has the funniest lines in my opinion.
Raph and Leo’s growth in the series was the best part. I liked seeing them grow into the roles rather than just having them. I think, with the cut season two, we lost a lot of opportunity for Mikey and Donnie to have the same sort of growth.
Sorry if I gave you more than you bargained for. 😅
