What does the repair.cost

I don't have the exact price yet because the shop I go to couldn't repair it for the day, but I'm preparing to pay 50-80 for it. Which isn't the worst in the world, but not the most desirable. If they patch it, it will be ok the cheaper end of things, but they were being pretty cagey about the damage location on the tire and Im kind of preparing to need to buy a new one.

My car got another flat tire at like noon today. I didn't even Hit anything

I'm going to try and finish the commissions I have and then take a few new ones. I don't know how much it's going to cost yet, but I do know that I'll have to pay for the tire out of pocket.

People aren't being helpful to what you want to know, so I'll help. This is a bit of a longer reply, so you'll have to forgive the reblog over the reply.

Hi, okay. So small gay history lesson. Homosexual is actually a very new term, all things considered. It only started cropping up around the turn of the century, and it is not actually a term that the gay community themselves came up with. It's one that came up in a strictly psychiatric setting, and was reclaimed by the gay community in the later part of the decade (Not unlike how queer has been reclaimed by many people)

That isn't to say that there wasn't a thriving gay community before hand - just that the terms they used and the identities they took were wildly different. Society has a tendency to be very. Mmm. Puritanical, and so for a while any sexual deviancy was lumped together. Even heterosexual couples who preferred oral were considered deviants in many parts of the western world.

Secondary to that, the culture around that gay community was drastically different to the way it is now. Gender and sexuality were considered inseparable. If you were a man who liked getting fucked (on the receiving end, that is( by other men, you weren't a Man, you were a second, different gender thing (generally called a fairy, which while used as a derogatory insult today, was the accepted term back then)

To answer why these terms evolved separately - it is because the gay male community and the lesbian community have evolved down drastically different paths, because of how separated gender was for much of human history. Gay men had a lot more societal freedom and privilege, so their communities shifted and changed around that.

There isn't a way for straight to just be masculine/feminine, because some gay (and straight!) Men and woman like to be gender non-conforming, or are attracted to gender nonconformity. Think of the effeminate gay queens of new York, or the stone butches of the lesbian community.

The reason so many terms are made is because people like to create terms to try and capture and describe the expression of their gender and sexuality. People like having community, and people like the security of an identity. But some people don't, and if you prefer the overarching term of Gay, that's completely fine.

If you want to read more, I recommend reading George Chauncey's Gay New York: Gender, Urban Culture, and the Making of the Gay Male World, 1890-1940 as a starting point. It focuses more on gay men and their culture, but I think gives a decent starting point as to answer a lot of your questions. You can find the audio book of it online completely legally, I'm sure.

Whyd people make the term lesbian? Didn't gay apply to both genders? Was homosexual men exclusive? Is there a word like homosexual but refers to women? If so why? Is there a way for straight to just be masculine and just be feminine (boy likes girl / girl likes boy), And if so why?? Straight and gay kinda blanket em both right? What ever happened with your car

Two of the wheels got replaced, I had to get all four of them adjusted, I got the window repaired (but not replaced because the frame of it is pretty busted up), I got it inspected (it passed) and im about to reregister it properly next week and pay all the dumb fines that go with that.

All and all it was a pretty stressful experience to have one thing happen right after the other, but I think? Things should be good for at least another year. And we are playing this by ear, so... ^^;;

ik it’s been said by much more knowledgeable people, but marriage for polyamorous people is more important than just representation or equal rights; it’s not just that poly people (and gay people) should be allowed to marry because it’s a symbolic ceremony that straight people get to do— it’s because it’s a LEGAL DOCUMENT giving you express LEGAL RIGHTS to that person’s well-being! it gives you the ability to make decisions for them if they are unable— say; unconscious, unwilling, or dead— it gives you the rights to their property, makes you next of kin guardian for the children you have together, makes it so you can file taxes together, makes it so you have the right to see your partner if something happens and they are confined to a hospital room. and so much more than that!

i feel like it’s so common to shrug off marriage rights for unconventional relationships or families because “it’s just a symbol and title— they can still just hold a wedding if they want to have one! they don’t need to do that to live together and raise children, so just leave it be.” but it’s NOT just a symbol or title. it is a fundamental right to be able to put YOUR future (your children, your estate, your possessions, your life if you’re in a coma) in the hands of people you actually love and trust

how many stories have we heard about trans people buried with their deadname, because the only people legally allowed to handle their funeral were their transphobic parents?

this is why gay people back in the day used to adopt each other. because marriage wasn’t legal and they needed SOME form of recognized protection if anything happened.

and, though i can’t speak much on it, this is also why the laws for disabled married people need to be different.

EVERYONE deserves the right to marry who they want. because marriage is a FUNDAMENTAL right, about CHOOSING who you trust to be legally handling your affairs.

and if who you trust is multiple partners, or even just several of your friends, it should be legal for you to tell the government that.

A day or two ago I discovered that my car needs a lot of work done on it and is running on some incredibly borrowed time right now (I need two tires and for the tires to be realigned and balanced, which will cost anywhere from 500-700 dollars in total.) I can't get that much working my regular 9-5 with the speed of which this work will need done, so you know what time it is.

I'm opening up some emergency comic commissions to help with the costs. Everything I get is going to be going to get the issues on the car fixed and sorted, so. I also dusted off my Kofi, the link to which I'll leave in this post.
