[resenha] VOW OF THIEVES • Mary E. Pearson • @darksidebooks Saudações Leitores! Aqui vamos acompanhar a conclusão da jornada de Kazi e Jase que acontece imediatamente após os acontecimentos bombásticos do final de Dance of Thieves. O fato é que devo alertar você, caro leitor, que mesmo com o final eletrizante de Dance of Thieves, este volume começa um pouco lento, pois vamos acompanhar Kazi e Jase voltando para a Boca do Inferno e nessa viagem de volta o casal parece dois" pombinhos em lua de mel" e isso é meio maçante, porque já sabemos que algo está acontecendo na Boca do Inferno e só queremos acompanhar as ações por lá e não a "curtição" de Kazi e Jase. Passado esse início lento, quando o casal se aproxima da Torre da Vígilia de Tor e  Kazi percebe que algo está errado, principalmente após verem uma mensagem estranha, no entanto Jase, como um amador em guerras, deixa seu lado passional falar mais alto e saí em disparada rumo a construção para tentar saber como estão sua família, os Ballengers. É quando ele é atacado por várias flechas, mas Kazi consegue fazer o cavalo de Jase e o seu fugirem, no entanto ela acaba se tornando uma prisioneira. A partir desse momento nós teremos uma narrativa intercalada (como já é de práxis nos livros de Mary E. Pearson) por capítulos narrados por Kazi e capítulos narrados por Jase, já que ambos estão separados. Vow of Thieves é um livro eletrizante do começo ao fim! Você leu certo: mesmo com algumas partes maçantes e lentas, no geral, o livro é muito bom, cheio de aventuras, adrenalina e Mary E. Pearson sabe muito bem como escrever essas cenas e nos fazer ficar empolgados com as partes de ação. #resenha Vow of Thieves - @maryepearson (@henryholtbooks) ⠀ ⚔️Jase e Kazi estão mais unidos do que nunca nesse livro, mesmo que eles passem 80% dele separados. Porém, mesmo não sabendo da situação um do outro, eles tiram forças do sentimento entre eles para seguir em frente. Desde a outra trilogia, Mary consegue entrelaçar bem o romance entre o casal com a história e aqui não foi diferente. ⠀ ⚔️Kazi e Jase entraram na lista de casais maravilhosos de fantasia. Ambos são corajosos, determinados e, quando necessário, crueis. Adorei que todas as atitudes que eles tomaram foi condizente com as personalidades de cada um. ⠀ ⚔️O ritmo aqui é um pouco mais lento que em Dance of Thieves, mas nem por isso deixa de ser uma leitura envolvente. A cada capítulo, você se vê temendo pela vida de Jase e (principalmente, já que a bichinha comeu o pão que o diabo amassou) Kazi, ao mesmo tempo que deseja logo o reencontro dos dois. ⠀ ⚔️O verdadeiro “vilão” desse livro me surpreendeu bastante, até porque no primeiro livro não temos um vilão propriamente dito. Aqui temos um inimigo páreo para os conhecimentos de Kazi e Jase. Foi um ótimo desenvolvimento de um personagem dito capacho e idiota. ⠀ ⚔️Outro ponto positivo na história são os coadjuvantes. Desde o livro anterior, vemos como a família Ballenger é unida, protege e vingam os seus. Kazi não é muito bem vista por eles por conta da sua traição, mas eles reconhecem todo seu sacrifício e estão dispostos a deixar isso tudo no passado. Como minha amiga @nocasoumabookaholic comentou, se tudo tivesse resolvido rápido e todos estivessem felizes e contentes, não seria o clã Ballenger que sobreviveu anos e anos defendendo Tor’s Watch e seus arredores. ⠀ ⚔️Vow of Thieves tem um final bem fechado para a história de Jase e Kazi, mas o universo de Pearson é bem embasado e gigante. Palavrinhas trocadas com ela no twitter, ela ainda pretende no futuro escrever mais histórias nesse universo. Three years ago I got to meet Mary E. Pearson and three years later I'm still in love with her books. I finally finished Vow of Thieves and I absolutely loved it despite it being a emotional roller coaster! We have come so far the thief and the Patre that were kidnapped together oh so long ago. I loved seeing these characters grow and create a place for themselves in the world. I just love this universe and I'm sad that this story has come to an end but am eternally grateful Jase and Kazi got the happy ending they deserved. QOTD: Okay theory time! I know there was the magic dust of the Ancients, but does anyone else think that maybe the Ancients are actually the modern era? I remember in The Beauty of Darkness Lia said that the Komizar's weapons reminded her of the story of the stars falling and in the retellings of the Remnants history, they describe the stars in a way that reminds me of nuclear bomb. Were the Ancients magic or were they from the modern era and Mary E.
