Favorite character you’ve written outside of the Stormy series?

oooh, this is a good question. either ace mcnacho in robotrio, or mark surge and/or von nebula in my hero factory fan series. you’re well aware why i love ace, so i guess i’ll ramble a bit about some hero factory characters for a sec.

when characterizing the hf cast, i sorta played fast and loose with a lot of their personalities for what to keep, and what to make more original— for example, stormer always had a darker side to him, a “too old for this shit” kinda thing, so that’s his character— he’s old, and gruff, and this life has taken a toll on him. he’s lost a lot of people he’s cared about over the years, and watched a lot of people he trusted betray him, so he’s… going through it (i also love stormer quite a bit as well, but that’s another story for another time).

for surge, he always worried about turning evil and betraying the hero factory, and he struggled with his anxiety over this inner darkness he believed existed within him. while my surge doesn’t turn evil, per se, he’s… really not a good person. he’s not actively malicious or cruel or anything, he’s just a really shitty guy. he lies, he cheats, he’s selfish. he hates himself, but this is the only way he knows how to act. he’s very, VERY flawed, and i think it’s why i love him so much— he’s a pretty bad person all things considered, and he’s supposed to be one of the good guys. can someone as flawed as him truly be a hero? it’s a theme explored a lot in my hf series, but it very much defines surge as a character.

as for von nebula, he was… pretty lacking in the personality department, so i just kinda went wild with him. i turned him into one of my favorite villain archetypes, the master planner. the schemer pulling the strings from behind the scenes, always two steps ahead of the heroes. he’s in a very lex luthor-esque position, where he’s the head of some big company or other (von ness incorporated, or simply vn inc.), so he’s completely out of the hero factory’s reach.

but why? why hate the hero factory so much in the first place? how does von ness become von nebula? and that’s where i REALLY went wild. during his time as a hero, von ness was always the smart one. he outsmarted the villains, he made the plans, the counterattacks, everything of the sort. he was a perfectionist, and after so many years, all he started seeing in the hero factory were flaws, among other plot-relevant things i won’t spoil. it didn’t help that one his best friends— alexandra valerian— was tragically killed on a mission, an accident that was partially the hero factory’s fault.

so that drone attack on new stellac city? that wasn’t just some attack, that was orchestrated by von ness. it was the birth of von nebula. in his grief, and rage, he decides the only way to correct these flaws he sees is to destroy the hero factory entirely, because in his eyes, it’s the only way that works. but that creates a problem, because stormer, his best friend, his brother is very decidedly pro-hero factory. he wants to keep that friendship more than anything, but he also wants to burn the hero factory to the ground.

and that’s why he’s so compelling to me— he’s the bad guy, but he still loves and cherishes this friendship he had, and he wants it back more than anything. he doesn’t want to hurt the heroes, either. they’re just bystanders to him, people standing in the way of his goal. it’s the hero factory he hates, not the heroes themselves. he’s a bad guy, but he’s not necessarily a villain. like surge, he’s very, very flawed. he has a point, the hero factory does have flaws, but he goes about fixing them the completely wrong way. he’s very flawed, and very complex, and honestly one of my favorite villains i’ve ever written, and i hope this explanation did him justice lol.

anywho, that is all. this got a bit away from me, but i hope that answers your question. surge and nebula both mean a lot to me, and it’s hard to choose one over the other.

i would rant about ace too, but then i would spoil all of season 2, and i don’t really want to do that right now. that, and this is already long enough.

Mini Fanfic #1058: Trouble in Love Paradise (SSBU X Sonic)

10:23 a.m. at the Smash Mansion's Outside Patio.......

Almost every kid in the Smash Family stares in awe at a girl dressed in black hovering down towards the them inside a red electric forcefield. As she gently lands her feet to the ground, the girl in question begins to turn off the forcefield around her and brush the dust off her dress before shyly turning her attention to everyone.

Sage: (Happily Nodded) It's true. Despite his numerous....upon numerous of atrocities he has caused in the past, among with his evergrowing passion of taking over the world, he still takes the time out of each of his days to raise me as his own and I will forever be truly grateful for his efforts.

Everyone turns to see the culprit of the throat clearing, Penny Crygor, as they give her sudden attention.

Penny: Hey, uh....I know this is a really sweet moment we're sharing here and I am so so sorry for ruining it right now, but....(Eyes Widened in Complete Shock) You're an A.I.!? (Eyes Starts Sparkling as Well) ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE!?

Sage: That's right. My father created me to be one of the most highly advanced A.I. that ever was. (Smiles Sheepishly) Unfortunately, most of my abilities have been limited altered immensely since my reawakening....(Smiles Brightly) But I still have access to a few things!~ Like flying in mid air, creating surge of electricity in the palm of my hands. Ooh! And I can also create multiple small, advanced cubes at will. Like so~ (Creates a Small Cube With Red Glowing Lines Around It)

Penny: (Smiles Widely as She Leans Closer to Sage and Whispers) Hello, new best friend~

Ashley: What?

Penny: NOTHING! I-I didn't say anything other than....(Turns to Ashley With a Bright, Awkwardly Smile) I love you~

Ashley: (Stares at Penny For a Few Seconds Before Sighing and Rolling her Eyes) Love you too, Penny, you weirdo.

Ness: (Smiles Brightly at the New Girl) Anyways, it's nice to meet you, Sage. (Proudly Points at Himself) My name is Ness: a PSI User in training. (Wraps an Arm Around Lucas Beside Him) And this is my best bud, Lucas.

Lucas: (Smiles Sheepishly) Another PSI User in training.

Toon: (Smirks With his Hands on his Hips) The name's Toon Link. The 4th or 5th Hero of Time and the most superior of all the Links.

Link: (Pops His Head Out From the Patio Door) Hyah?

Toon: (Eyes Widened Once He Immediately Recognizes that Voice) Uhh d-did I say Links? What I meant t that I was the superior of all the ink collections! (Chuckles Awkwardly) Which are all hidden away in my home and....stuff.....

Link points two fingers towards his eyes and then to Toon Link before glaring at him and slowly going back inside the mansion.

Hat Kid: Hat Kid!~

Ashley: My name's Ashley, I'm a witch in training. (Hugs Lucas Lovingly) As well as Lucas' girlfriend.

Ashley: And a purest definition of a nerd.

Kirby: (Happily Runs By to Hugs Sage) Poyo poyo!~

Sage: (Gasps Loudly Before Turning to the Gang With Sparkling Eyes) Who is this pink specimen of cuteness?~

Ness: That, our new friend, is Kirby, the Hero of all Dreamland.

Toon: And possibly the most adorable pink puffball in the universe.

Jiggypuff gasps before angryily crossing her arms and walking away in the distance.

Sage: (Gently Picks Kirby up With a Soft Smile on her Face) Hello, Kirby. My name is Sage Robotnik and I hope we could get along with one another from here on out.

Kirby happily rubs his cheeks against Sage's, causing her to get ticklish.

Ness: (Chuckles Lightly) Well, whaddya know? Few seconds in and the little guy adores you already.

Sage: (Gasps Again Before Turning Back to Kirby) Is that really true, Kirby?

Kirby: (Happily Nodded) Po-yo.

Sage: (Heart Begins to Melt Before Floating Up in the Midair and Twirling Her and Kirby as She Blurts Out...) I ADORE YOU TOOOOOO!~

Kids: (Giggles Softly at the Adorable Exchange)

'Door Opens'

Bowser Jr: Alright, what are you dorks doing out here-

Junior's eyes suddenly begins to widen at awe at the floating girl twirling Kirby around. Her black dress, looks, and smile were plenty enough for youngest koopa to fall over head over heels for her.

Junior: ('Suddenlyyyyyyy~ Life has a new meaning to meeeeee!~ There's beauty up aboveeee~ And things we've never take notice of~ You wake up and suddenly.....you're in loveeeeeee-)

Junior immediately snaps back to reality once he sees Sage and Kirby happily staring at him face to face.

Sage: (Very Confused on What Just Happened) Nice....to meet you? Whoever you are?

Ness: ('Sigh') That there was Junior: the youngest son of King Bowser. He.....normally doesn't act like this, in case you're wondering.

Sage: I see. (Frowns Worryingly) I hope i didn't frighten him top badly.....

Penny: (Gives Sage a Reassuring Smile) Nah, I wouldn't worry too much about him. I'm sure he'll get over what's wrong with him In an instant.

Meanwhile in the Dining Hall....

Eggman: (Shivers a Bit)

Mario: Is something the matter, Doctor?

Eggman: Oh, it's nothing too serious of the sort. Just having a sudden urge to interrogate and beat up some snot nose punk for some reason.....(Looks Up at Mario and Peach in Front of Him) Are you two certain that our kids will get along with one another?

Peach: (Smiles Reassuringly) We're positive. They may not look it, but our babies can be really sweet to one another. Our niece will find right in. (Tears Starts Coming up in her Eyes Along With Mario) ('Sniff') Our sweet little niece.....

Eggman: (Smiles a Bit) Hm. Well, I'm glad they're taking a liking to her. Your folks are good people, Shadow.

Eggman and Shadow watches Junior runs off with a confused looks on both of their faces before turning back to one another.

I love inventing terrible in universe fandom drama.

Gavintwt fell into a couple months of terrible discourse about Klavier’s sexuality. people argue about whether he's gay or just queerbaiting and then people argue about how this is invasive actually and real people can't queerbait and Klavier is just openly queer the whole time with a song literally titled "my boyfriend is the prosecution's witness". blissfully unaware.

There's a trend of Gavinner stans committing crimes or messing with crime scenes just to be prosecuted/called as a witness by Klavier. he has to put out a formal statement imploring his fans to pursue other methods of getting his attention:

A few years after the disbarment someone digs up an old viral post that's like

and gavinblr suddenly realizes that that was the dude Klavier got DISBARRED a couple years ago. viral sensation parrot cross-examiner Phoenix Wright. the fandom goes crazy for a few days but then Klavier does a new photoshoot and they all move on.

A post joking about shipping Klavier’s brother with the guy Klavier got disbarred becomes a huge meme in gavinblr and a subsection begins writing ironic Krisnix RPF that progressively becomes genuine and then turnabout trump happens and the fandom explodes again. Half the Krisnix shippers jump ship to Klapollo because they felt weird about shipping a murderer (and did you SEE the Kitaki case? Klavier was sooo flirting with the defense <3). The other half doubled down and reveled in the angst potential. Part of the Klapollo shippers started truthing. They study court transcripts to prove that Klavier and Apollo are in love if not already dating. Unfortunately they’re right.

So, I haven’t worked on Bittersweet X Daydream in a hot minute if I'm gonna be honest. A lot of other obligations have been taking time away from my main fanseries sadly. BUT I do have one new thing to show you guys regarding it.

A redesign.

I KNoW I know I said no more redesigns, but after having these characters for so long, it's only natural that I'd want to change how they look. Specifically, there is only one character that I've redesigned so far anyway…

Often referred to as “The school beauty”, Lei is admired by almost all of her peers. That's not all, however, because I also have a new series that I've been working on. A crossover series if you will. Based on one of my favorite Disney movies of all time:

Sugar Rush! Precure

A group of girls go to the arcade after school every day to hangout. They excel at most of the consoles there, notably the racing games. One day, Vanelope finds a weird token like she had never seen before, as it was engraved with intricate patterns and a shiny gold. When she attempts to use it in a racing game, it flashes in the machine and floats out as another trinket (henshin item). At that moment, a mysterious person is creating havoc outside the arcade, clearly looking for something. He spots the trinket in Vanelope’s hand, and we all know what happens from here.

Yep! Cures based on the sugar rush racers from Wreck-It Ralph! So far, I only have 2 of their designs, but I'm still completely in love with where this is going. Speaking of which, lets show those two off!

Vanelope Von Schmitt / Cure Sweets

A very confident girl, Vanelope is definetly the ray of sunshine that brightens anyone’s day. She’s very friendly, but is also not afraid to tell it like she sees it. She also has a habit of being overly sarcastic or jokey, which can come off as annoying to others. Not really good at school and overly clumsy, so sometimes covers her negative emotions with jokes or sarcasm. Adores arcades and always states it’s her home away from home.

Very rich and spoiled and it definetly shows. She can be cocky and overbearing at times, but she’s got a good heart. Due to her father being principal, people have rumored that all her grades were boosted due to nepotism, but that’s not true. She works hard to get where she is, and while vain and sometimes a little rude, she isn’t afraid to help others in need. Goes to the arcade to get away at times.
