... hhhhhuh. Yeah okay, that's definitely An Update. Does he actually look any different in-game? Did he get new animation?
Either way, that sure is... a way to approach him. A rather boring way, I feel.
Like, Vladimir is a dandy. Ignoring his terrible, terrible presentation in League of Legends, to me he always felt like he was supposed to be this over-the-top Dorian Grey hyper-hedonistic maximalist pleasure seeker, fully reveling in wearing outrageous fashion and being The Most Extra at all times
Wild Rift Vladimir certainly looks less silly, and a lot prettier (which is, in its way, an improvement, Vladimir SHOULD be an impossibly beautiful pretty boy I think), but this just feels aesthetically way too basic for him.
It's reduced his colors down to just the Noxus Base Palette, and completely removed the decorativism and ornamentation from his outfit. It seems like a design that's going for Sleek™ and I feel like he should look more like covered himself in glue and rolled through Howl Pendragon's bedroom
Like, he should look like he has a taste for the exotic and expensive, someone who hoards trinkets and jewelry and fashion items like a magpie, someone who wants to show you such delights, my dear, oh truly, someone who dazzles and overwhelms with sheer magnitude of decoration.
Someone who disarms his victims by seeming like a harmless, foppish pretty boy, right up until the blade of his claw rises up your neck and he asks you if you won't please stay for a drink.
Which, by the way, if you wanted to tie him more deeply into Noxus as a region, having him be someone ostentatiously displaying the looted aesthetics of regions and cultures that the empire is actively conquering would be a great way to do that. He's basically a vampire, you won't find a more pitch-perfect metaphorical avatar of imperialism than that.
All my criticisms aside, mind you, anything is better than how horrid he looks in League of Legends right now, so call it a step down aesthetically and a big step up in production value.

Oh this spoiled brat of a Count... tsk tsk
Despite being rich beyond his wildest dreams, with loads to spare and an elegant mansion, as well as a cult that basically WORSHIPS him, there was still something missing...
That is, until he met you.
An Ionian noble, lost, tired, and an absolute mess, who wandered up to his door step. You had been traveling through Noxus to get to Demacia, and then Targon, as you had important meetings and relations to organize in both countries, and despite the hostilities, you felt much safer traveling by land than by sea for extended periods of time. How unexpected that you would get mixed up and lost trying to avoid battalions and raiders in a military country, how COMPLETELY surprising.
While he should have immediately imprisoned you, so that you could essentially be used as a hostage during negotiations, Vladimir had other ideas, as he loved to bend the rules as far as he could and see that look of disdain on Swain's face when he got away with it.
So instead, he invited you in, feigning worry and apologizing for the disaster of a voyage, allowing you to bathe, relax, and have a decent nights sleep.
After some conversations, you realized you were already late for both of your meetings, and would never make it in time. You sent letters explaining what happened, and arranged to come to Demacia and Targon at a later date. While this was all handled, you and Vladimir started to get to know each other, and he quickly realized you were considerably above his rank, in Noxian terms. He was lucky that you were unfamiliar with how Noxians showed their respect to those above them, this was as if Darius had showed up at his door bloody and bruised and he had handed him a towel instead of treating him with respect and ordering for the finest healers to tend to him at once.
Despite his mistake, he was pleasantly surprised that you didn't mind, and still counted his actions as kind. When you asked to keep in contact with him, however, is when you truly surprised him. Having good relations with a high Ionian noble? Oh the trouble that could get him into... and the possible rewards he could reap from it.
He gladly accepted, and after nearly a week, you were back on your way, this time making it safely to Demacia, then Targon, before going back home.
The two of you exchanged letters for months, getting to know each other better and better. You eventually realized how dangerous meeting up could be, but were hoping at this point that perhaps the two of you could be what bridges a truce between Noxus and Ionia.
You began meeting up every few months in secret, almost like some kind of Romeo and Juliet type of story, the two of you had a meeting place in Piltover where you would spend time together.
It was during these meetings that the two of you began to have a relationship other than political. Vladimir slowly began to realize just how much he wanted you. And it was your disguises in Piltover that turned into his becoming your sugar baby. You would dress nicely, though not over the top, and he would as well, but the two of you pretended to be just that: A rich noble and their little plaything. But it soon was no longer an act.
You would take him out on the town, going to fancy dinners, expensive shops, all sorts of theaters. What had started as a cover quickly became the two of yours little secret.
He adored it. Being doted on, being treated like he was special to someone, almost like he was your pet, he relished in it. He even convinced you to go to the brothels of Zaun with him and enjoy the... "masquerades" they liked to hold with him.

With over a decade of time and the work of some of the most accomplished artists in the games industry, League of Legends has a genuine embarrassment of riches when it comes to beautiful splash art. I discussed my absolute favourites in a previous video, but there were so many that didn't make it into that list, I decided to have another go at it.
Beauty, of course, is deeply in the eye of the beholder, and for me it's not merely a matter of the splash art being "pretty" or competently rendered. Usually, for me, it comes down to composition and storytelling, although I'm not above being charmed by simple technical execution sometimes.
In this video we'll take a look at a few different kinds of splash art - the way Marquis Vladimir's splash uses objectification to reveal something about his character, the brilliant efforts of Star Nemesis Fiddlesticks to try and bring outsiders into its story, the quiet gothic western horror brilliance of High Noon Thresh, and seven other interesting artworks.

When he nearly dies in Ionia, he finally realizes that the whispers belong to an ancient and powerful demon prowling the shadows of the empire. Defeated and cast out, he sees no other option than to seek out this demon and try to wield its power for the good of Noxus.
