shiv and kendall and their belief that connor and roman are the weak dogs that got the brunt of logan's worst behavior, because abuse is reserved for the kids who can't behave - the ones who aren't smart and mature enough to make it in the world. abuse evokes pity, because abuse is what happens when you expect too much from people who obviously aren't capable of more.

and then they go forward in life, believing that they're just naturally more intelligent and more capable than connor and roman, as if being raised seeing what happens to you if you aren't a perfect child wasn't the entire point of the "punish the weak dog" mentality that logan instilled in them. the looming threat implied behind any praise they do receive that tacitly tells them "you're not like roman and connor" because everyone knows what happens to roman and connor.

the absolute height of the rich capitalist mindset. "we're succeeding because of our own merit, and other people fail because they don't have what it takes" when in reality they're succeeding because of arbitrary rules made up by someone who knows that infighting makes meaner dogs.

As I've said before, the universe wants to make them "fit" into the world, (which includes the enemies that get in there too) so you can imagine how awful it feels to be seen by the UNIVERSE as a mistake that needs "correcting". It's the worst feeling. Not only that, what if the universe wants you as something else? Ehat if you want something else? What if unlike the others, you actually like the changes given and want to stay even if it hurts, but everyone is screaming for you to change back? You just want to be comfortable just like they are.

You want to belong.

You want to be the you inside.

Or the universe is just a sadistic lovecraftian creature that just wants to cause pain to a couple color-coded turtles.

That post about cannibalism becoming too mainstream and destigmatized by certain sections of the internet and therefore losing its weight and horror and visceral nature just has me thinking about how HABIT ate a baby and everyone was like oh lmao he’s just an edgy cool guy!!!! He’s just like me fr!! Haha!!! Which. I think not enough people are freaked out by the fact that he forced Evan to eat his own child raw and possibly alive. He mentions “the bones” and implies that it took awhile. Like that wasn’t Hannibal-style Brioche With Baby Pâté and Shredded Zucchini in a Plum Vinaigrette, he just opened Evan’s mouth and bit down until the job was done, and I think that says a lot more about Habit than people want to examine. Idk it just. has me thinking. The number of times hurting children comes up in entries and supplementary materials about HABIT is kind of overwhelming, really. I’ve seen people talk about how they think he’d draw the line at hurting children, but the source material goes out of its way to state otherwise- just about every time he’s in contact with children they die. Or worse. He’s the summation of the worst of humanity, the combined aggregate of all of our flaws and crimes, and one of those crimes is cannibalism, so honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if he made a habit (ha) of it.

Okay, I don’t know if any one is going to see this or if anyone is going to care

I’m feel like I might take a TGM posting break, i don’t know for sure, I’ll still lurk and like, be a cheerleader. I’m extremely emotionally attached to this fandom and the friends that I have made through it. But with everything going on, it is actually making me feel physically ill and feel even worse mentally.

No one has asked for my opinion, and honestly even if they did, I don’t know what I would tell them. So I won’t give it.

edit to add: i will say that i am fucking heartbroken. what happened is absolutely heartbreaking, and im sending my love out to may.

And I will say that I support anyone that chooses to move platforms for their stories, no matter how I feel. You have to do what you need to to protect your mental health, that is the most important thing.

And those who know me know that I will be the biggest cheerleader if and when you need me behind the scenes.

But my blog is for more than just the TGM fandom. My blog is quite literally a melting pot of fandoms. So my focus just might shift for a while (no definitive timeline because I don’t want to make promises)

So I know that I have a moodboard poll running right now, and that I have a weekly one to post today, but with how I feel right now… it might have to wait. But we’ll see…

I love every single one of you. And I am not leaving, I’m not saying goodbye forever. I have 101 ideas and stories for this fandom and I can’t just leave them to rot on a shelf, that’s not fair to me or to those that might love them.

And who knows in the state I’m in I might just delete this post later.

this probably occurred in a past iteration, because he atleast had the name Patrick in the 80s, so I'd maybe go for the fairmount iteration. Yk, since in that one Evans mom gave Evan the nickname, "HABIT."

I really do think it's safe to assume that Michael helped pick out a name for him, because I definitely don't think Patrick is his true name, if he ever really had one???? i feel like he might have a lable, yk "the observer" or shit like that maybe, but it was never really a NAME.

I think that Michael himself helped name Patrick, I think they we're talking and he asked Patrick for his name, he wanted to know who he was. And I think here, Michael is only just a kid, he's young and Patrick was still a feral bitter being, a beast in the head of a boy and Michael wasn't scared of him at all. If anything Michael was always so aware of that kind of sadness Patrick has always carried with him, so when he asks for his name and Patrick will say he doesn't really have a name, he doesn't need a name.

Michael would tell him that's JUST NOT TRUE!!! and he would ask if he could give Patrick a name, and who is Patrick to deny Michael such a request like that??? having a name, a new identity. something that wasn't given to him by slenderman, it doesn't sound too bad.

Michael would definitely throw out a few awful ideas, and Patrick would veto instantly but once Michael says the name, "Patrick" it was like a buzzer went off in their head. Like something important and special just happened. and they both knew that was the right name. It would be the kick start of how they begin to bond more, and adapt to each other, taking account in how each other feels, each others needs.

"My best buddy Patrick." is what I think Michael calls Patrick when he's not around. those two are best friends ur honour 😭🙏
