In a game that is largely comprised of very disheartening moments, one of the worst for me in de is when Lena- who has up to this point seemed to be a delightful, kind person- casually drops the fact that she considers Kim to be an entirely different species from Harry and her because he is Seolite. It is such a kick in the nuts and its made so much worse because she clearly meant no offense and tries to awkwardly assure Kim that that doesn't mean she thinks that Seolites are *inferior* and then throws in some bs inconsequential "positive trait" that she thinks seolites have over occidental ppl. It's sort of funny cus its so obviously deranged bullshit. And It's just so shitty, it's this reminder that it's not just belligerent assholes like the racist lorry driver- sweet old ladies like Lena also think Kim is just *a little bit less of a person* too. He is constantly being barraged with this sort of treatment, but i feel like this little moment hits especially hard because its the first instance you witness of someone aiming this shit at kim without conscious malice. Made doubly shitty cus you goaded him into this little diversion in the first place- its a pretty neat illustration of why someone like kim would be so closed off in the first place.

I remember at school having to read that stuff where that chap, Othello, tells the girl what a hell of a time he'd been having among the cannibals and what not. Well, imagine his feelings if, after he had described some particularly sticky passage with a cannibal chief and was waiting for the awestruck "Oh-h! Not really?", she had said that the whole thing had no doubt been greatly exaggerated and that the man had probably really been a prominent local vegetarian.

since there are still new people liking and reblogging my tally hall art/posts, old and new(ish), i figured i should make my stance clear. joe hawley has proven time and time again that he cannot be trusted to foster safe and appropriate interactions with his fans, especially those who are underage. and this is to say nothing of the extremely harmful and bigoted views he has repeatedly expressed surrounding race and gender.

any past art i have made of him or any appreciation i have for tally hall and their work does not include any support for him and his actions. in fact, it's more reason to condemn his behavior, for using the importance this band has to his underage audience to take advantage of them. i would advise any fans, minors or not, to take caution and avoid him, and to not put him up on a pedestal for the sake of others as well.

honestly funniest concept for Ahsoka and Korkie is her mentioning she knows obi-wan and Korkie immediately gushing bc that’s OBI-WAN. This is the Jedi he grew up on bedtime stories about and he’s so excited and then Ahsoka’s like “idk I once saw him dump the remnants of a hip flask of Correlian whiskey into his thermos of tea and then down the whole thing in less than five seconds” and korkie’s just like “that’s ✨AMAZING✨ anyway I bet you’ve seen holos of him from when he was younger do you think we look alike?”

there are a thousand and one clickbait websites out there that thrive solely on writing the most inflammatory things possible so that people (either in agreement or anger) will share and spread them and make them more ad revenue. they are not legitimate publications, they're not even tabloid level publications, they're all knockoffs of buzzfeed or akin to popcrave on the app formerly known as twitter. many of them have fluffy little names and post useless, soulless pieces with no more real authority than you or i have on our tumblr blogs. what i'm saying is don't fall for this. frivolous culture articles can be fun, but you've got to be armed with discernment and common sense/media literacy. they have no authority, do scant research, and spreading things - even if you disagree with them - provides them the exact amplification they're seeking. we should minimize their reach. don't give them your energy or time of day or feed their ad machines. it's not going to give you any knowledge or benefit, and it's futile to stress yourself out over. just move on and let yourself enjoy things <3
