Alright, episode 11 I’m gonna need a full on KazuRei cry fest, complete with comforting each other and talking about their feelings. Maybe even just vegging out together, eating junk and drinking, chillin in their underwear, no cleaning - literally just wallowing in self pity. But because they’re just chillin together trying not to think about how everything has turned to shit, they start to “ask and tell”. Just genuinely opening up to each other. Then hopefully they’ll feel a little relieved to have gotten a bunch of stuff off their chest and be ready to pick themselves back up with a renewed feeling of hope. Then by the end of the episode, Rei will be tying his hair back and Kazuki will walk into the room wearing his best hitman threads and say, “You ready?” And they ride off into the sunset on a mission to take down the organization.

Lets talk about Linphea!

Okay I would love to live on Linphea I won’t lie
It’s literally full of lush forests, gardens and all things green!
It’s also quite warm due to their being a variety of plants everywhere!
Linphea is mainly spread across a bunch of towns and cities with some small villages on the outskirts
They live high up, meaning there are lots of bridges connecting towns and cities together!
You have it’s capital city Gaia which is home to the largest hill Linphea has!
It’s called Oakland hill (it’s where linphean’s tend to have their wedding ceremonies)
Linphea, much like domino is also a very creature populated planet
But most of these creatures are more related to it’s dense green-lands instead of the warmth of dragons
You have the grass serpents, ivy wolves, the treants and much more!

Linphean’s tend to connect with plants much easier then others, take flora she has her venus mcflytrap as a guardian
They bond with certain plants and flower depending on their hearts!
This means when it comes to harvest time they can get it done much quicker then the average fairy or paladin
Harvest time comes with lots of food and fresh produce, Linphea is one of the biggest producers of fruit and veg hence why their trade roots connect almost everywhere in the magic dimension
Most Liphean’s either study to become botanists or biologists if they aren’t hoping to become fairies or paladins
Linphea breeds the smart cookies much like Zenith

Some of their festivals are
Harvest festival
After the harvests before the winter Linphean’s will usually celebrate according to how successful it was
This means that the bigger the harvest, the bigger the celebration (it’s usually a huge party I won’t lie)
Blooming festival
Usually celebrated during spring when everything starts to grown again
Think parades and bonnets, it’s a pastel affair and also mainly when love starts to bloom too!
Weekly event, there’s balls, big dinners with everyone you live near
It’s a huge affair for Linphean’s
Turning Fest
Mostly celebrated at the start of autumn when everything starts to die
Linphean’s believe that when everything dies it’s a chance for a fresh start and they celebrate this

Vanilla Pods is a mini-fest for podfics featuring food. We will accept anything that can be reasonably called 'podfic' and that features food and that has never been posted before.
The theme of 'food' might range from ice-cream parlour AUs to a meta on spice racks in fan works, or a kinky fic involving vanilla beans (yes: a vanilla kink). Your definition of 'podfic' can include a wide range of traditional and non-traditional audio formats. Collaborative works are encouraged. Think outside the (veg) box!
Deadline: until it is no longer Monday 1 May 2023 anywhere in the world. Reveals on Wed 3 May 2023.

Dec 28 - soooo much scanning today. With occasional breaks, and doing some minor gaming while scanning, but still... scanning. Just under 400 photos worth, which finished the storage box I was on. While the scanner was making a pass, I worked my way through keg running at LotRO Winter-fest, grinding 75k worth of games in Flight Rising Fairground activities (the daily cap), and playing through laying out a couple of maps in Dorfromantik. All stuff that I could toggle away from every time the scanner finished another scan, and set up the next assortment of photos before toggling back to the game.
One more storage box to go, and then whatever scannable items are in a couple of cardboard boxes.
Think I may give myself a day off from scanning tomorrow though. Today was annoyingly long, but I hit a point that there was only about 1/5th of the box left, and I decided I wanted to get it finished today.
The nephew made toad-in-the-hole (using hot Italian sausages instead of the usual breakfast ones) and steamed mixed veg for supper.

Hello! i went to veg fest this year and there was a bunch of things that said ahimsa and i’m writing a paper on veganism and it just came up again, but i’d never heard of it before. like i don’t feel like people on tumblr say they ascribe to it or anything and it feels culturally appropriative to me. i guess i’m just wondering your thoughts on it?
Ahisma is a spiritual concept, and is a fundamental principle in Jainism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism. I don't think that belief in an ethical or metaphysical concepts can ever be racially or culturally specific, so I don't think it's appropriative for anyone to take on that belief. I also feel the same way about people who just believe in ahisma but not the rest of the religious dogma attached to it.
It becomes less acceptable when it's just being used as a buzzword, or as some sort of taken out of context hippy catchphrase. But as a serious, core philosophy to base your veganism around I think it makes absolute sense as a foundational belief that you incorporate into your veganism. The history of vegetarianism and veganism are pretty well connected with the concept of ahisma and non-violence too, so it isn't just two unrelated concepts mashed together.

Writing plans below the jump to babble it out a bit.
Cause I would love to be writing. But I feel like crap tonight. So I am gonna veg out to The Mole and boot up more Sunless Skies for a bit and then maybe start work for the week at some point*.
(*I am sort of tempted to take the week off because I have two doctors appointments upcoming and ugh. But I might have to go in for a 5-hour iron treatment in 2-3 weeks and I would like to have room to take that week off if I’m really jittery leading up to it. So I should really get work done this week after all.)
But, writing stuff upcoming:
- I signed up for No True Pair with three different lists of characters: 8 Blades characters, 8 Hargreeves, 8 OCs. Made a list with what the prompts got me. Out of the 84 possibilities that landed me, there are 32 that landed that I really want to write. (12 Blades, 14 TUA, 6 OCs). Gonna start rewatching TUA S3 this week while I work. Would like to start some of the 7 whose prompts land before the 13th before September starts, I think.
- Rainbowfic: I am 16/25 drabbles into a saturation for the event ending September 5th.. Determined to finish it in time. Would also like to do some Lilith Faire ficlets. First day expires the 25th, last day expires the 31st.
- October-fest prompt lists are gonna be going up soon. May investigate doing some of those this year, I think.
- On the non-fest-y writing side: I’d like to write the fake-dating AU of the Z/B episode. I have the urge to write the Blades daemon fic, despite not having an actual plot to that or anything, just ideas for daemons and Volisport daemon lore. I want to go back to some of the fics I have underway as well, but brain is melty for them lately for some reason.

#1172: the man who carried the heaviest weight for 10m, Patrik Baboumian, got to the end and shouted "vegan power!", at "Veg Fest Toronto". afterwards, in an interview, he said it hurt and he regretted doing it. in his vegan advocacy, he said "the strongest animals are herbivores*: gorillas, buffalos, elephants, and me." *literally plant-feeder. so it sounds slightly more degrading in German than English.
