Anotha’ One
Chrissy and Eddie as Julie and Randy from 1983’s Valley girl. It just fit the two so much that it had to be this movie.
Also wtf if this costuming for Randy… like not the vibe.

Last week I watched “Valley Girl” (1983) Romance/Comedy
Very very very loosely based on Romeo and Juliet. Supposedly. If that wasn’t mentioned at the very start of the movie I never would have made the connection. It’s listed as a comedy but I barely laughed.
This was fairly meh for me. Didn’t dislike it, but didn’t really like it either. I wasn’t really invested in the low stakes dumb teen romance. The characters mumbled a lot. The main entertainment was watching my mom point at the screen and be like “oh I remember when that was a thing”
I liked some of the songs.

dialogue by Lori Walls
"Val speak by Lori Walls". I am guessing they just shouted across the office. "Lori! You're young! You're a woman! We need some 'Valley Girl' slang to fill out this page and be hip with the kids."
And this is to match fashion contributions for a fellow townsperson in Mamorneck, and a few New York metropolitan area residents (Including someone named DuMont) -- along with some other areas to be sure.
For the record- the entire work by Lori Walls on the Archie characters consists of sketching a string bikini to be drawn by Decarlo for Veronica to wear, and writing five slang expressions for Betty and Veronica to say. An odd fit besides, and beyond 23 installments of Marvelous Maureen, this gets in randomly in the last issue of Madhouse.
Untangling the story of Maureen. Things get dark.
