I will always lament that Natasha Romanoff didn't have a better ending, or a riding off into the sunset, and retiring (something I hope that Bucky gets in the end with MCU, and not dying, because his past now is gone and not having purpose). But yeah, Scarlett wanted to leave the role, and I respect her decision, and I don't want her to just hang around doing movies, when she is unhappy just to entertain me. It's her life. And she did not have a good experience, and probably fought alot about her character direction.

Give me a like though, if you're a bit excited to see Yelena Belova to take over the Black Widow mantle, and franchise, with her own story, and maybe fight some of her comic villains.

Perhaps Val becoming MCU's version of Madame Hydra.

Maybe a returning Bridgette Regan, as Dottie Underwood from Agent Carter, finally linking Agent Carter, and the MCU proper together.

Wanting to do a little survey.

I hate thunderbolts, i hate movies about antiheroes and villains doing "good things", i hate that bucky's in it, i hate that yelena's in it, i hate the red guardian and i absolutely, with burning passion hate john walker. i don't want that movie, i'd rather not have my beloved character (bucky) in any movie than have him work with all new and rebranded hydra under val, who's name in the comic is literally madame hydra and be all chummy-chummy with fucking walker. i hate that they will destroy so many character arcs with it. i hate it

am i the only one a little confused about bucky being part of the thunderbolts? they’re meant to be a team of villains, right (since they’re working for val/madam hydra)? why would bucky be part of that when they’ve spent so much on his character development to make him not a villain anymore? especially after his redemption of sorts in tfatws and friendship with sam. the only thing i can think of is that he may be part of the project, but not necessarily confirmed to be part of that team yet within the show...🤔

from what i heard, thunderbolts is actually a team that is something between hero and villain. like,,, they're not avengers but they're not hydra either. something in between.

madam hydra is a villain, true, but we don't know how they're going to work with bucky. maybe he's going to realize what is actually happening and gonna put a stop to that etc.

i honestly didn't like the way they worked with bucky's arc in tfatws, so i'm not very optimistic about thunderbolts, but i'm gonna watch it for the sake of seeing and having more content of bucky lol

i have no thoughts on this movie. i am excited for more Kang lore and for Cassie to be a bug (?) but that's about it. i hope Luis returns

okay so i get the Skrulls and Kree mixed up but after googling it i now remember the difference

i am honestly really excited for more Fury and Maria. i miss Fury and Maria had so much potential so i'm just. i'm vibing with this one

i'm only slightly more excited for this one than for Quantumania

For the WIP Game, MCU - A Quantum Universe

Oooh, I'm excited about this one and hope that I really do actually find the time to write it once I finish Lent From Tomorrow (and probably Please Stand By?). I actually got the idea from an anon who messaged me last time I did a fic meme -- if anyone reading this is that anon, please tell me so I can credit you properly! -- but: ok.

So.

This is an Endgame AU where Thanos' snap Dusts either all men or just all of the male superheroes (haven't decided yet) but either way: all of the male superheroes are Dusted. So it's up to the woman superheroes to save the universe and bring back the other half of the universe and whatnot. Up in space, Captain Marvel finds Nebula and Mantis and they go to Earth to find out what happened. Natasha is leading what's left of the Avengers (so, uh, her, Wanda, and Maria Hill) and teaming up with Okoye, Shuri, and the Dora to do all of the humanitarian stuff that EG totally ignores but that we get hints that Nat's been coordinating during the Blip.

MEANWHILE IN SAN FRANCISCO, Janet Van Dyne and Hope contact eminent astrophysicists Jane Foster and Darcy Lewis because they think (idk some technobabble I will figure out). They decide to contact the lady Avengers and offer their help. Probably Katy is their lyft driver across the country.

Time keeps going while they build a new quantum tunnel, but they need more than to be able to enter and exit the quantum realm. They need to be able to traverse the multiverse.

Nat's like, "I know a brilliant scientist," and she contacts Melina and Yelena. Possibly there's a subplot about Madame Hydra Val and Powerbroker Sharon but idk. Something something Ten Rings Xialing.

Like twoooo-ish years into the Blip, there's someone standing outside of the Compound gates a la Scott Lang, but it's not Scott. He got Dusted. It's Kate Bishop and her martial arts sparring partner, MJ Jones-Watson. Kate claims to be the best archer left on Earth, if they need a new Hawkeye. MJ basically says, "I'm pretty sure I went to school with Spider-Man? I'm not sticky, but I'm good at aerial silks and martial arts, and also engineering, and I want to help?" Possibly Riri shows up with them, too, idk.

At some point Carol shows back up with Monica, Maria who DID NOT DIE, and Kamala.

The greatest minds of the MCU are all working on how to travel the multiverse to get the stones safely but it's not working. Science! is not enough on its own.

Enter Wanda's chaos magic. And maybe Agatha? Undecided. And maybe America? Also undecided.

So the women team up into groups to go to different universes adjacent to the MCU's main universe to get the stones, and no one goddamn leaves anyone for Peggy.

And possibly Nat and Yelena are who go to Vormir. Undecided.

Yadadada, they get the stones, build their own gauntlet, nobody betrays anyone because they didn't meet up with Old Nebula, Captain Marvel snaps because duh, and the menfolk heroes are back. Everyone rides off into the sunset, alive and with who they're supposed to be with.

Fin.

P.S. Except Vision is still dead, sorry Wanda.

There were way too many cliffhangers in TFATWS for there to not be a second season. The ending just reminded me so much of the way Agent Carter s1 ended.

THERE ARE TOO MANY LOOSE ENDS!

(Also, could be just me but I think Madam Hydra and The Power Broker are working together and US Agent is an unknowing ally. And somehow Zemo will be included in this. But that’s just my opinion)

I love how the end credit scene just made everyone in the theater start crying, and then gasp. It was so great to experience that shock collectively. But I'm so confused!! Why is Yelena working for Val? Why has Yelena become an assassin again? I thought she was going to go around the world to save all the other widows, not go back to being an assassin?? Also, I will be completely supporting Yelena in her journey if/when she shows up in Hawkeye, I will protect her at all costs.

//Listen it's great not needing to follow MCU stuff like a hawk anymore and get worried over everything, but this stuff? This Val nonsense? Madame Hydra in my MCU? It's more likely than you'd think and I Do Not like that.

So TFATWS spoilers and possibly “Black Widow” spoilers.

I kept seeing people saying Madame Hydra is in “Black Widow” and I was like “who says?” And finally I got to listen to the podcast that covers it.

Basically Vanity Fair says they knew about JLD’s casting for awhile. At least since 2019, when they mention an interview with her at the end of Veep.

Originally she was going to pop up in a post credits in “Black Widow” with Yelena Belova. The VF writer says it’s unclear if that is still in the cut that will come out later this year. (Aka your screencap of Wikipedia saying she is in “Black Widow” will not convince me it’s true yet since they can easily change a short post credits sting.)

They are setting her up as a “Dark Nick Fury”.

Which is cool. I can’t wait to see JLD and SLJ go head-to-head. Also kind of excited to see more spy stuff because maybe Sharon and/or Yelena could be in it too. I love my spy ladies.

I am also pretty disappointed with Tumblr. Seeing some people mad that JLD is playing “Madame Hydra” when there was already a Madame Hydra on Agents of SHIELD.

I had to look it up because, guys, that show was not good. I’m sorry. And that version seems to be based on Ophelia (Viper) not Val!

You’re going to turn your nose up on an ELEVEN-TIME EMMY WINNER portraying “Dark Nick Fury” Val because you’re attached to a different Madame Hydra?

Redeeming John so the government just lets him do whatever he wants during a hostage crisis despite him being a murderer and having Sam and Bucky cool with him while ALSO having him work for Madame Fucking Hydra is such a fucking cowardly move.

Like... why redeem him then? So it’ll “hurt” more for Bucky and Sam when he’s full Hydra? Why would Bucky and Sam be okay with him? Why sacrifice THEIR characterization just for the “plot” twist that Val is Hydra two movies from now or one tv season from now?

Is the comic book reference worth it? Is having Bucky and Sam cool with him worth this?

This is so fucking emblematic of what is wrong with Marvel. Characterization and plot flow is sacrificed for comic book easter eggs and to set up new phases and projects. It’s lazy and it’s ugly
