When the United States Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, Justice Samuel Alito’s majority opinion smugly declared that “nothing in this opinion should be understood to cast doubt on precedents that do not concern abortion.” Alito mocked the dissent’s concern that getting rid of abortion would ultimately imperil things like access to contraception, saying the dissent was “designed to stoke unfounded fear that our decision will imperil those other rights.”

But as anti-choice politicians and activists are now deploying Dobbs to try to roll back decades of law about bodily autonomy, it’s clear the dissent’s fears were quite well-founded.

Conservatives are not going to stop at unwinding the constitutional right to privacy, which underpins things like the right to obtain birth control and the right of same-sex couples to marry. After they destroy the agency of half the population by imposing so-called “fetal personhood” laws, they’re coming for the modern welfare state.

The blueprint

Over at the hard-right Washington Examiner, Conn Carroll, a former comms person for both the Heritage Foundation and Utah Sen. Mike Lee, has a lengthy list of laws he’d like to get rid of — everything from Medicaid, to Head Start, to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Those laws, he argues, “penalize marriage and encourage alternative family formation.” Carroll’s goals therefore dovetail not only with forced-birth conservatives but also with forced-marriage conservatives.

I'd like to think that he already cares quite a lot for V at "Life During Wartime" so he recognizes that Hellman wasn't as useful as they had hoped for and he secretly observes their breakdown through the Sunset Motel window.

He is more anxious about them than he might like 🤍

Actually probably the most healing and productive narrative consequence to Leo’s resurrection could have been him having to work for Asclepius.

Whatever powers that be see it as a punishment for both sides but these are two isolated people who care a lot. It’s a peaceful welcome for Leo, which is something he needs, and he doesn’t even realize how much so.

And yeah, Asclepius had to be tricked into helping them with the cure but he treated them without prompting or desire for anything in return, which is very ungodlike.

And Leo has just faced the culmination of his destructive abilities and been destroyed by them, saved the world with them and there is something so soft and freeing about not being expected to break anything anymore. Instead he gets to help with and eventually learn how to fix things- to heal people. He once regretted how he couldn’t fix Jason’s injuries because people weren’t as simple as machines, but he could learn, and learn from the best.

And more likely than not, having a connection to the outside world that lasts longer than a few minute might change the doctor’s mind about staying in his little prison. It’d be only fair for all he’s done for Leo.

Basically, Asclepius being the parental figure Leo deserves and Leo getting to find something on his own that makes him happy.

bigb is usually so resistant to putting his trust in one person, one group. this session he was still paranoid that skizz and tango might turn on him, that this task might make the entire server every person for themselves. but when it came down to it, he was defending his boys and he was there for him. when he was paranoid and alone, he went to go find skizz. in the end, he stated multiple times that skizz was the only person he could trust. he didn't team up with anyone else after skizz died, he just hid. even if he never wanted to admit it or fully believe it, the heart foundation was his family too

WHAT: The Miz, James Roday, Michael Fabiano, Jerry Cantrell and Tom Everett Scott are each taking a team in separate NFFC Primetime leagues and donating any and all of their prize money to the V Foundation for Cancer Research. Each league champion will earn $7,000 and the grand prize is $250,000. James will also donate $1,000 per team to the V Foundation for any team that finishes ahead of him in the final league standings...if anyone does, that is.

FIVE LEAGUES AVAILABLE: We will have exact draft dates for each celebrity soon and anyone can join each respective league. However, we ask every participant to make a donation to the V Foundation before joining and any denomination is good. This league will pay the Top 3 finishers, including $7,000 to the league champ and $250,000 to the overall champion. You can certainly donate any amount of money to the V Foundation without playing in this league -- and we encourage that -- but we hope that every participant helps us Sack Cancer with a monetary donation.

WHEN: Some of these leagues will be broadcast live on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio, so pay attention to the schedule and be ready to watch these drafts live.

WHY: Because cancer is still the leading cause of death, by disease, among children and adolescents. In fact, about 9,910 children under the age of 15 in the US will be diagnosed with cancer in 2023 alone.

Did you know that only 4% of all federal funding for cancer research goes to studies on pediatric cancer? This makes private funding through partnerships, like Connor’s Cure, a partnership between the V Foundation for Cancer Research and WWE, a vital component of pediatric cancer research support. Connor’s Cure raises awareness and funds needed to support pediatric cancer research and is the sole charity benefiting from this contest. What’s even better than playing Fantasy Football? Knowing that 100% of the donation goes toward pediatric cancer research and that you are helping make a difference.

Some quick things! 1. This is a redesigned version of 035’s Date Night Outfit i posted a while back, 2. The Shaco doodles are quite old…drawn sometime in mid 2022 or late 2021, I can’t fully remember. Vill-V was quite recent tho! I’m talking like, May or March of 2023.
