SPN fandom aid for Ukraine

SPN fandom is well known for coming together to support important causes & this time in no different. With Misha Collins becoming United24 ambassador & launching a fundraiser to help clear landmines from Ukrainian territories, a lot of creatives in the fandom are trying to do their bit to help encourage more donations to this life saving cause.

I never thought this would reach so many people or do so much good. To see where this little idea started to where it ended up I'm just in shock. I'm sitting in my hotel room crying for Jennifer May Nickel, For Oksana , For Ukraine, For the amount of kindness people have shown and spread...to see Misha Collins (Happy Birthday!) on stage with the flag I gave him this morning (he and Jennifer are also matching donations on all the flags I hid) is so surreal. “Russians have left mines in homes, their mines have been found in refrigerators, they've been found in children's toy pianos in people's homes, mines have been left in automobiles that were parked in people's driveways,” Collins explains. 

Collins, in fact, can trace his parental lineage back to Ukrainian Jews from Kyiv and also studied Ukrainian and Soviet politics at university - but he insists he would take on the same role regardless of any ties, as the cause is so close to his heart. 

Joining him by his side on the tour is Giles Duley, a British war photographer who lost his legs and an arm after stepping on a mine in Afghanistan.

In order to strengthen and protect Ukrainian lives, the legend, Mark Hamill, is raising funds towards 10 RQ-35 Heidrun reconnaissance drones.

Mark Hamill, the actor who portrayed Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars movie saga and ambassador of UNITED24, calls on you to support Ukraine.

Join the fundraiser for 10 RQ-35 Heidrun scout drones! 25 of these Danish-made UAVs were sent to the front line in the spring.

The RQ-35 Heidrun has proven itself as an effective and user-friendly UAV for reconnaissance missions. Its highly reliable radio system is capable of withstanding electronic warfare.

The RQ-35 Heidrun's flight range is 25 kilometers. This drone can transmit video in real time, which allows it to gather intelligence, without exposing the operator.

The fundraiser is launched at the request of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

HOW DOES THE ARMY OF DRONES WORK?

The Army of Drones is a joint project of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the State Special Communications Service and the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

This comprehensive program includes the regular drones procurement at the request of the military, as well as a pilot training course.

American actor Misha Collins became the ambassador of UNITED24.

Collins will support the "Humanitarian demining" direction.

Even the rocket attacks on the capital did not stop him from coming to Kyiv and demonstrating support and solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

Collins will also visit Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, where he will see the work of Ukrainian sappers.
