you fundraised over $2,000 for muscular dystrophy research! you don’t know how much that means to me as someone with muscular dystrophy! I wanted to ask, how did you do it? I’d love to fundraise in my own community. Any tips on how to start?
Thank you so much!
I am a member of a fundraising team for my local chapter of the FSHD Society for facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy, the type of MD that I have. As far as I know, the FSHD Society only operates in the USA and Canada, but they have a list of some global FSHD groups here.
The FSHD Society does an annual fundraising event called the Walk and Roll to cure FSHD: this is the only major fundraiser specifically for FSHD in North America. This is the primary way that I've raised money in the past.
Anyone can participate, but the best way is to join or create a fundraising team (fundraising teams raise more than 80% of total donations). FSHD is genetic, so the team I'm on consists mostly of my family members and a few friends that also have FSHD, which classes us as a Friends & Family team (as opposed to a corporate team). You need 4 or more people to make a team.
Teams create a website or Facebook group to document their goals and progress. I'm not sure whether or not this is required, but definitely creates a much easier way for people to send in donations online rather than with cash/check.
Then, get the word out! The easiest way to do this is with social media posts that link to your team's webpage, but some teams also put out flyers. And depending on where you work, you could ask your business to be a corporate sponsor, or do a corporate match program, where every dollar donated by an employee is matched by the corporation. Depending on how much you raise you can receive branded items in return: I've gotten an umbrella, backpack, and duffel bag.
If there is no Walk and Roll event near you, you can participate virtually or donate to the FSHD Society at any time through their website.
My team's $2,000 worth of funds raised is actually on the lower end compared to most other teams, who average over $3,000! But remember that every cent counts towards finding a cure for FSHD and helping people living with it :)

This was my last article as a Staff Writer at the University Observer, and was also my first piece of data journalism. Unfortunately, the webpage where I found the lists of previous Student Union sabbatical officers has since been wiped due to a lack of sourcing (as has the University Observer wiki, which contained lists of all previous editors and the standout pieces from their tenure), but it was all accurate at time of reporting (April 2017). Since then, I'm happy to say that the year to year gender breakdown has gotten a bit less male dominated, and with more openly trans officers to boot.
This article, on a more personal note, is also one of my earliest memories of the UO office. Myself and Nathan Young (another Staff Writer at the time, who has gone on to be one of my longest collaborators and dearest friends) sat opposite each other at a tiny desk working on last minute articles for the opinion section, which was due for print in under five hours time. For better or for worse, this became a habit of ours until he left the UO in 2022.
The article can be read at the link above, or in the read below.
With just one female candidate elected to UCDSU this year, Heather Reynolds examines the struggle in getting women into politics.
Student Union election season has ended, with only one of six female candidates elected to a sabbatical position. This, being no surprise to anyone, was not commented on besides a few unpopular tweets, expressing mild resignation.
UCD students, used to the all-male sabbatical team from the 17/18 session, see the lone elected female candidate as either a step in the right direction or a non-issue, which, on one level, it is. Going from a male dominated sabbatical team to a team which contains a singular woman is, on paper, an improvement. However, when compared to the year previous which had a team consisting of two women and three men, and the year before that, which had three women, it shows that overall, the election of women to sabbatical positions is on a downturn.
This downturn is not for lack of engagement, as there are women running. All but one seat in the sabbatical elections were contested by a female candidate, all of whom has relevant experience, interesting ideas, or both. In fact, almost half of the candidates who ran were women, all of whom were qualified and charismatic in their campaigns. So why did none of them win? The preferable answer is that the other candidates ran on better policies, or had more active campaign teams, however the campaign is only half the battle with elections. Personal experience with candidates, or internal bias, can change how a well fought campaign is perceived, and so misogyny is not something that can be easily discounted when discussing this issue.
It is worth examining why the first three eliminated candidates for the presidential race were all of the women who ran
If public engagement was the decider between candidates, how did Murphy beat McFadden in Richview, where only she and Aljohmani had canvassers for the entire voting period? If it was policy used to decide, how did O’Brien get more first round votes than McFadden or Aljohmani, when both were more confident in their manifesto points at hustings? While it may seem reductive to assume lack of votes for female candidates is down to sexism, it is worth examining why the first three eliminated candidates for the presidential race were all of the women who ran. The same can be said in the race for Education Officer, where the candidates ran on virtually identical campaigns, had uncannily similar experience, and yet Crosby won by almost 10% of the vote.
Since 1975, only forty-three women have held a sabbatical position within the union. That is one woman for every year the union has been in session. Considering that the union has never had less than four sabbatical officers, and that the percentage of female students at third level is typically slightly higher than male students, less than a quarter of those who have held a position being women speaks to a larger issue that has echoed across student unions in Ireland. This year, Trinity students' union had thirteen candidates for election, two of which were women, one of which was running for a position that was not actually part of the union, that of the University Times editor. Both female candidates won, however both were running virtually uncontested for the positions, as O’Mahony, now editor of the University Times, was running against a joke candidate who was also running for president. She won 58.5% of the vote. Aimee Connolly, TCSU’s incoming Education Officer, ran entirely unopposed.
Since 1975, only forty-three women have held a sabbatical position within the union. That is one woman for every year the union has been in session
The view on this may be that student politics is a nonsense aspect of student life that holds no bearing, and who cares who gets in because they never change anything anyway, they only sap funds from clubs and societies. This may or may not be true, however student politics provides a valuable role to those who wish to pursue politics in their later careers. Paschal Donohoe, current Minister for Finance & Public Expenditure and Reform, started out in the Trinity College branch of Young Fine Gael and was actively involved in student politics throughout his time in university. Without this background, he may never have gotten anywhere in national politics as it provided him with experience and contacts uninvolved students would never encounter.
It is notable that the number of women holding seats in the Dáil currently stands at 22%, less than a quarter of the seats available, in line with both Trinity and UCD’s most recent elections, where one out of five officers are women.
Student politics are a lot of people's first foray into politics as a whole. In UCD it provides a lot of students with their first experience voting down the ballot, engaging with election material, and making an informed decision regarding who they want in a democratically-elected position of authority. We are pushing women to get more involved with politics on a national level, yet male prevalence in student unions is going unexamined. Real world politics informs student politics, and student politics provides an introduction to real world politics, and so these pushes should be unified, as one cannot exist to the best of its potential without the other.

Fascination About 10 Ways To Fight Depression
Vital points Clinical depression can easily be located on one's situations, so it's smart to look into feasible outside triggers when experiencing depressed. Yet another strategy of depression is temper. Depression may be separated into 4 principal categories: Self-destructive feelings Intended, nerve-racking emotions Intended anxiety (anxiety of your state of mind or your capability to take care of it) recommends to feelings like temper that are not really good and are going to come to be self-destructive. Workout and a routine food routine have mood-enhancing results. Related Source Here recommend a task for frequent foods in the long-term efficacy of anorexia nervosa (AN) treatment in preventing the advancement of eating problems complying with a prosperous duration of frequent weight loss (12–14). This is specifically interesting provided that the existing research study only consisted of the subjects along with AN disorder who were not undergoing therapy for AN and would certainly never have received AN. Supplements for state of mind such as St. John's Wort, as well as the reduction of caffeine, can easily aid with depression. An additional strategy employed for lowering caffeine content has been acupuncture, through which individuals take caffeine to assist their heart trump. It's a identical strategy, but additionally has actually added uses, like for ache (e.g., "cut off the perspiration coming from your spinal column that you are melting up" and "alleviate sore joints in front of you").
Tumblr media
As an M.D., I've seen as well several of my colleagues yank out antidepressant examples every time a client starts to burst into tears. It's like tossing loan at the problem as you go along. It's truly unfortunate.". To get around mental health and wellness issues you can pay for guidance outside the health center or take the tablet at the drug store for a tiny cost. Your medical professional can recommend you to a psychosocial help team, who are the physicians who've offered you some suggestions. Therefore on account of medical doctors almost everywhere, permit me say sorry for our trigger-happy prescription-writing behavior. Please find the link on our FAQ webpage for more information regarding what sets off prescription-writing is and can easily be made use of on your own. The factor we utilize prescription-writing is that we have been performing pain administration for virtually 30 years. It is our hope that our ache administration technique will certainly produce it less complicated for people around the world to obtain timely treatment for their pain in order to enhance their health. I don't imply to lessen the ache someone who is depressed could experience. But I assume there's a even more significant chat that is being produced through my clients. What are your targets and goals for handling anxiety? What do you really feel you're carrying out better, than that of anyone in the room? It has been an fantastic experience. I've constantly yearned for to be capable to go back and attempt my hand at therapy. I'd additionally possess to receive a diagnosis of depression. And it's important to bear in mind that the discomfort muscle and the joy muscular tissue are the same. The pleasure muscle mass has it's own muscles. But the discomfort muscular tissue has actually a great deal additional muscle mass. It has actually muscular tissues that are "agh!". They acquire sore when they rest down. But it's essential to recognize that the ache is the very same muscular tissue after being in a pub squatting posture. For everyone who crouches for a long opportunity (since it's just about inconceivable to acquire it) they acquire aching. If you can easilyn't experience one, you won't feel the other. This has actually to perform along with how simple it is to have a new physical body type. I choose to refer to that 'normal' type because that's very popular for most people, but there might be others. Some folks may have located their body component more distinct, but the trait isn't just popular. When you're young, you don't have the body that has actually the ideal measurements. That claimed, scientific anxiety pulls, and if you're someone who goes through coming from it, my heart goes out to you. I've never ever once thought I'd be depressed, and I really hope I certainly never once believe I'd be depressed today because this is what it is to me. But it's not the instance. It's what the health condition has made those who are experiencing along with it challenging to look out for and to be tenderhearted. and when that's the situation, it's a tragedy. I'm in no means wanting to diss antidepressants or recommend you neglect your medical professional's insight. I will certainly take these simple facts truly and do what I possess to to comply with my personal requirements.". Image inscription A research discharged through Medline points out that when the new rule is placed into effect, additional treatments will be available The British College of Emergency Medicine has prompted folks to obtain suggestions through content message or via its website.

Tumblr media
My brand is Chick-Fil-A. Chick-Fil-A is a fast food restaurant commonly found (at least in New York) in the city. Doing more research into their brand and who they advertise to, I found many facts that contradict many advertisements and facts about the company itself. For example, on their webpage, they claim their target consumers are moms and families but in reality, their main consumers are teenagers/young adults and their advertisements are not ads that I feel would grab the attention of moms or families. A good example of a brand that promotes well to moms and families is Mcdonalds. Mcdonalds gives out toys for kids (kids see the toys on TV and immediately want to go to Mcdonalds) and also promotes quick and easy lunch/dinner for moms. Meanwhile, Chick-Fil-A advertises chicken sandwiches (most kids tend to be quite picky so a chicken sandwich is not the way to bring in a kid) and cartoons of families playing in the snow with no nod to the fact that it’s a Chick-Fil-A commercial.
In Chick-Fil-A’s holiday commercial, it opens with a house on a snowy day. Inside, there’s a little girl that tells her family that it’s snowing outside. We see a man (presumably the father) on a business call while putting up lights on a Christmas tree, a woman (presumably the mother) on her laptop, and a little boy (presumably the little girl’s brother) playing video games with headphones on. The little girl excitedly runs up to each family member to ask if they’d make a snowman with her but each family member is busy doing another task. The little girl stomps away, upset, towards stairs that lead upstairs when the grandfather clock towards the back of the house creaks open effectively catching the little girls’ attention. Behind the cogs and gears are two cats that begin to walk away into the back of the clock with the little girl following behind them. The cats lead her to a gate with a shop that says “The Time Shop”. In this alternate land, it is also snowing. The little girl enters the shop and is greeted with snowglobes filled with different memories of different families. An old man greets her and makes it known that he’s been watching her. There are many time puns that the old man makes and then gives the little girl an envelope. He states that “some people just need a little reminder” in response to the little girl’s statement that she wishes her family would understand that “together time” is important. Her mother can be heard calling for her so the little girl runs back to the opening of the clock with the envelope. The family is seen sitting in the exact same spots as the girl runs into the room to tell her family about the crazy escapade she just went on. The family is seen giving their attention to her (father gets off the phone, mother closes her laptop, and brother takes off his headphones). The little girl gives the envelope to her family (which suddenly takes on the names of her family members) and the family is seen all the sudden very happy. The end shows the family making a snowman while the card that the little girl gave to them is shown saying, “this card is good for 1 hour to make the best snowman ever” signed the time shop. The Chick-Fil-A logo is then shown saying “give the gift of time” and a link to their website.
In doing some research, I found that Chick-Fil-A’s target audience is moms and families. While this commercial features families and mothers, in my opinion, there is nothing that would effectively draw mothers or families to Chick-Fil-A. While this could be an opportunity to promote the brand’s reputation, they did so at the wrong time. When this commercial was put on TV, they were still getting backlash from several families about their ongoing homophobic and transphobic agenda. They had announced that they would stop supporting charities that were transphobic and/or homophobic but not even a full month later were they donating to those same charities. Of course, Chick-Fil-A supporters were very angry when word got out and once again, their reputation went back to the really good chicken place that closes on Sundays for religion and hates transphobic people (which the owner of Chick-Fil-A said in an interview years ago). That being said, I believe Chick-Fil-A was attempting to build their reputation back up by sending out this commercial during a season where families were meant to spend time together. They wanted to help people believe that they cared about families and time spent together as much as the average family would. They wanted families and mothers to believe that Chick-Fil-A cared about them and their family time. The older man inside the clock was meant to be the image of Chick-Fil-A. This older man gives the card to the little girl to spend time with her family. The letter is meant to be Chick-Fil-A’s restaurant. Chick-Fil-A is where families can spend time with each other uninterrupted. Special moments can happen in Chick-Fil-A. Also, since one of the demographic targets is moms, they had the mom react first to the little girl in the commercial. It’s the mom’s voice calling to her daughter while she’s in the clock and the mom is the first to snap her laptop shut when the little girl comes running into the room.
Madrid, Balta, and Rodrigues all mention many strategies regarding how to be less racist and more inclusive of all races. One of the strategies I recall reading about was to include more biracial/multiracial people to help reduce the chances of producing something that could be deemed racist or stereotypical. While this could somewhat apply to my commercial directly (all of the main characters looked relatively white), I feel it could apply in a different way. Since Chick-Fil-A’s biggest backlash is that which regards homophobia and transphobia and they want to be known as a brand that cares, they should include more transgender and homosexual people on their team as well as in their commercials. In this particular commercial, I don’t believe there was any stereotypical behavior from any particular group. While there are stereotypes for Caucasians, I did not see any of them within this commercial.
For my commercial, there are many ways that could be more effective in drawing int their target audience. While cartoons do tend to draw in kids, (which tend to be a big part of “families”) the type of cartoon used is not one I feel would draw in kids. It lacked action, mystery, comedy, or anything really that kids tend to like to watch. And moms don’t have time really to be watching cartoons unless the kids are watching said cartoons or unless the cartoon has something that would make the parent pay attention. Instead of using a cartoon to hide their transphobic reputation, it would make more sense to showcase real families. A real mom with her real kids going to a real Chick-Fil-A and eating a variety of their real foods. It would make it even better if it featured a mixed family or even a gay/transgender family. I can see a mixed family happening in the near future with Chick-Fil-A but unfortunately, gay/transgender families are probably a far fetch for this company. In any case, if Chick-Fil-A features “real” connections to Chick-Fil-A, I believe more people will be inclined to go there. Also, at least in New York, there aren’t many Chick-Fil-A’s, to begin with. Most are in the city with the occasional one upstate. If there were more around, easily accessible, I’m sure many families would feel more inclined to eat there than other fast-food restaurants.

My Personal Experience With John Crestani’s Super Affiliate System
How It All Started
It all started on one weekend when I was scrolling on my Twitter timeline. My attention was drawn to this one retweet from one of my friends on Twitter. He had retweeted a tweet by John Crestani. I don’t remember much about what exactly the tweet was all about but it was something in the line of “financial freedom” and “making passive income.” I guess I was a little too excited to pay attention to the details.
So, I clicked on the link provided and found myself on what looked like a well-crafted landing page. On this page, John shared lots of information regarding a system that he had discovered and one that he believed could empower beginner and intermediate affiliate marketers.
I wasn’t new to affiliate marketing at that time. The first time I heard of it was back in 2014 when I was doing some online research on how to make money online. After sifting through dozens of scams, I finally managed to sign up for the Amazon Associate program.
Once my account was approved, I simply went to my back-end, picked a few banner codes and pasted them on my blog. At that time, I didn’t know much about targeting the right audience and the need for being niche specific.
So, as fate would have it, my affiliate marketing dream hit a snag. My account was closed within 90 days and that’s because despite delivering some clicks, no one was buying through my affiliate links. To cut the long story short, I completely gave up on the idea of making money online by getting random strangers to make purchases through some goddamn links.
I chose to stick to my day job which to be honest I didn’t like that much. But as any other person looking to pay the bills would do, I had to keep going to the office, deal with numerous client calls and sit in a dimly lit cubicle all day.
So, when I came across John Crestani’s tweet and eventually the landing page, my dream of being independent once again came back to life.
Who Is John Crestani
Tumblr media
The reason John grabbed my attention is that he had a story that was almost similar to mine. He was once stuck in a boring day job but unfortunately, for him, he got fired without a clear exit strategy. I can only imagine if I was the one in such a situation. How would I pay my rent? How would I convince my daughter that there was no food in the house or money to keep the AC working?
But John somehow managed to go through it all, effectively building a $500k business from scratch. Having seen it all, John seeks to help you and me learn the tricks and techniques it took him years to master.
I really liked how genuine he sounded but, to be honest, I was still a bit skeptical. That’s because John kept talking about his current affluent life. I even peeped into his Instagram and Facebook pages and realized that he frequently posts photos of himself standing next to Lamborghini’s. Why do you need a Lambo to sell a $47 course?
I am not a fun of marketing tactics that involve showing off what one owns or drives. If anything, it’s always possible to rent a Lambo and fool people on social media that it’s all yours.
In my opinion, if John could spare us all the stuff about his personal life, he can be a bit more convincing and authoritative. Otherwise, one might mistake him for a scammer despite the fact that he’s selling a really good course.
How It Works
So, I started out by signing up for the Internet Jetset program. It’s a subscription-based service which goes for $47. This program comprises some awesome lessons for beginners. In particular, it walks you through some awesome ways to generate valuable traffic without spending a dime.
These are strategies that other marketers hardly talk about. And even if they talk about them, they hardly bother to get into the details as John does.
The lessons are presented in video format. John narrates everything using screen recordings. This makes his courses pretty easy to follow. In fact, you can do everything he says as he narrates to you and that’s because it’s possible to pause the videos and resume when necessary.
What I didn’t like, however, is that it’s not possible to “fast-forward” the videos. So, if you’re already familiar with whatever John is talking about at any given moment, you’d have no alternative than to still listen to it. This can be quite annoying and time wasting.
Also, I don’t know if it’s just me or that John talks really slowly. Some of the lessons could have been 30 minutes but he talks rather slowly and a good number of them go up to 45 minutes in length. The upside is that you get some highly detailed and in-depth training no matter your level of skills.
Also, the Internet Jetset courses are divided into tiny, little portions. Ideally, you should take 1 module per week meaning you’d need several weeks to finish the entire program. Fortunately, you don’t have to finish it for you to start making real cash. You can start using your skills to get the systems up and running. For instance, you can use the skills learned within the Google Free Traffic Module to tap into the power of SEO.
The Upsells
The Jetset is pretty affordable at $47 per month, so what’s the catch? Well, the catch is that you’ll constantly receive emails from John enticing you to buy one of the premium packages on offer. For instance, if you’re already enrolled in the Internet JetSet program, you’ll constantly be enticed to go for the Super Affiliate program which goes for close to $1,000.
There’s also the JetsetLIVE webinars package that goes for $97. You’ll also find the JetSet Xtreme Members course which goes for $187.
I accidentally subscribed to the JetSet Xtreme Members course when I clicked on the link out of curiosity. And instead of being taken to a check out page, I got a message reading “Thank you for purchasing the Jetset Xtreme Members” course.
My Thoughts on the JetSet Xtreme Members Course
This is a platform full of pre-recorded videos of other affiliate marketers who have used this system to successfully make money. The course also provides you with links to third-party tools that you can use to make purchases. At first, I thought these were free tools but upon clicking on them I realized they belonged to other companies and you had to pay up to use them.
So, in my opinion, while the JetSet Xtreme is full of value especially if you’re looking to learn from the experiences of other affiliate marketers, it doesn’t really provide you with free tools. Just a bunch of affiliate links to other services.
I did not find this part of the program to be worth the $187 they charge for it. And for that reason, I claimed my money back. Fortunately, John kept his word and I got back all the money I had accidentally spent on this upsell.
I really liked the fact that the company is made up of honest people. It’s rare to come across companies that are willing to refund money nowadays – so two thumbs up to the Super Affiliate System team.
My Thoughts on the $997 Super Affiliate System (SAS)
While the Internet Jetset program focuses on the free sources of traffic, the SAS shows you exactly what you need to do to leverage on paid traffic methods. In my opinion, the $997 you pay for this course is worth it but only if you’re willing to sit down and learn the tricks. It won’t work like magic.
You see, everyone can place an advert on Facebook, Instagram or even Google Adwords. But if you ask around, you’ll realize that most of those ads don’t convert. It doesn’t matter how much you invest in the course unless you really understand the psychology of the buyer, you’d end up making shots in the dark.
The good thing with paid traffic is that it works almost instantly. That’s unlike the free traffic methods which take months or even years to materialize. So, if you don’t have the time to build dozens of backlinks and implement other SEO tasks for your site to rank (which normally takes years), this strategy enables you to start making money immediately.
And the best part is that besides exposing you to the language of paid affiliate marketing, the SAS course also provides you with 3 core skills. These include:
Copywriting
Data analysis
Research
In general, the SAS is an 8-week course which comprises 50 hours’ worth of content. It also contains lots of additional resources that can help complement your unique strategy.
Week One – The System Setup
This section of the training mainly comprises stuff to do with creating a website, setting up a presell page and rolling out Facebook ads.
Week Two – Understanding the System
Introduces you to the core skills of online business. It also aims to help you unlock a super affiliate mindset so you can profit from different situations.
Week Three – Marketing Skills
How do you get people to click on your ads and convert? As we all know, it takes an expert to hack this. Luckily, those skills are provided within this section of the training.
Week Four – Facebook & Google Ads
Facebook and Google have more than 2 billion active users per month. So, if you were to get a piece of this pie, chances are that you’d make some pretty huge bucks as well. And that’s what John Crestani does in week 4 of his training.
Week Five – Native & YouTube Ads
Ever thought of leveraging the power of native ads? Basically, native ads are ones that are included within a media format. For instance, you can include such ads on your webpage content and so forth. Besides that, you’ll also get to learn how to do YouTube Ads and so forth.
Week Six – Scaling and Outsourcing
Once you have the skills needed to make the first dollars, you’ll need to find ways to grow and expand your trade. Using the tidbits shared in the 6-th week of this training, you’ll be able to outsource and automate quite a number of tasks so you can focus on growing your business.
Week Seven – More Ad Campaigns
Most people usually limit themselves to Google and Facebook. But did you know that there’s a lot of unused potential on platforms like LinkedIn and Bing? In this module, you’ll be able to learn about all that plus a lot more.
Week Eight – Implementing the System
If you’re wondering which ad network to join and which niche to embrace, this is the module you’ll need to take. It’s a highly advanced section of the training that helps you decide the direction you want your online business to follow.
My Results
Tumblr media
After going through this program, I’d like to admit that I learned quite a lot. Most importantly, I was able to re-apply for the Amazon Associates program and got accepted. I have been making quite some bucks over the last few years. One of my sites rakes in $1500 while the other one brings about $2000 per month.
My goal is to scale these two sites up – I know there’s potential to make $10,000 per site (per month) with more content and a stronger SEO presence. But that might take time. For now, I appreciate the fact that the investment I made in the Super Affiliate System is now paying back.
The Pros & Cons

I personally would recommend it to any person looking to make genuine cash in the vast online markets.

Yugioh S3 Ep 18: Noah’s Dad Decides he Doesn’t Love His Son Anymore When Noah Gets Way Too Into Petz Hexing
I was hanging out with Bro and he made me look at a lot of bad Yugi wigs that were 600 dollars each, and because only like...4 good Yugi wigs exist in the world, I decided to help him get out that Yugi itch in a healthier way, by copy editing these posts and fixing the way I spell Gozaburo wrong about 400 more times before this arc ends.
So last we left off, Noah decided to reference that one part of the Bible he knows.
Tumblr media
He’s gonna change the playing field to kind of run through the history of the Earth, showing us that in every period of history his outfit was never acceptable.
Also he got the history a...little bit wrong. You had to have people before Noah’s ark but...whatever. I took astrology, there’s a lot about planet formation we’re still kind of guessing on, so do whatever you feel like, Yugioh. It’s not like any kids watching this got real pissy about how Noah was totally botching the Archean period.
He also decides to dump on us how he got so smart. See, Kaiba got smart by studying a lot, surrounding himself with people way dumber than him, and then just bossing everyone around him until they agreed with him that he was very smart. In Noah’s case, it’s because he’s literally a computer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m really glad I get to find another anime that’s all ham about this tree. In this case just slapping it on there for a few seconds, long enough for me to say “WHAT THE HELL, KIDS SHOW?” before it vanishes again.
Good on you, Noah. You just...casually slipped that in there.
Tumblr media
Ah, but unfortunately, the AI who is like...not even human and is *pretty sure* He’s Noah Kaiba is still kind of attached to his Dad. Maybe it was a part of his core code that he couldn’t reject his Father? I dunno, just seems weird that he achieved enlightenment and was like “So uh...I guess I’ll play cards and take over a mindless corporation. Good use of my time.”

Kaiba’s reaction to hearing that his brother stores all of human knowledge was “well, it can’t possibly be that difficult. I’ve done way more than that. I have a homeschool degree and half a high school diploma so go to Hell, bro.”
Yo how many people would sit down, turn to their computer, and just start shouting at their core processor about how they’re waaaay smarter than it? Remember that during this entire conversation, Kaiba is shouting at a literal computer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So anyway, we finally get to see why they bothered showing us spider room a few episodes back. Youknow, that room with the baby in it? Turns out...there was never a baby in this room, since Noah was a kid when he first woke up here.
Before it was covered in spiders, it was covered in blue and off white. This is a very boring Martha Stewart room in different shades of robin eggshell. You can tell this kid is a Kaiba because oh boy that is a...really boring 50 yo housewife look, ain’t it?
I’m sure it’s symbolic for the fact he is hella dead and innocent at this point but like...every time we see Kaiba interior design it’s just the last type of design you expect from this high octane family.
Anyway, Noah’s kind of surprised to be awake because, last he remembers, he was very much hit by a car.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ya, I mean, if you have to tell your son you Frankenstiened him into a horrible crime against humanity, might as well tell him as quickly and bluntly as possible, I guess.
Anyway, because Noah existing breaks the most basic moral human laws in every country on Earth, they kinda can’t let him go anywhere, which means that to prevent the loneliness, Kaiba gives him...a pet?
Tumblr media
So Noah and the dogcat decide to travel through Domino and realized very quickly that there were only like...five NPC’s. There’s like an ice cream girl, and like a couple walking people, and that’s about it.
Tumblr media
Noah’s words were something like “man this place is full of glitches!” because his dogcat wouldn’t stop barking and he threw a rock at it and it didn’t care. Glitches.
I guess it’s one way to look at it?
It feels like Noah got somewhat cursed like Pharaoh did, just a little bit. Like not completely it’s just that I can’t help but notice both are trapped in some sort of basic geometry shape--Pharaoh’s is a pyramid and Noah’s is an orb, and both have untold superpowers matched with some heavy depression that goes with having said superpowers. Not to mention, both have a host body all set up for possession, it’s just Kaiba is a little bit youknow...unwilling to participate. They’re very different obviously it’s just...way to trap your characters in shapes.
Anyway, last episode I felt like maybe Noah liked being an orb, this episode he’s made it a little more clear that it is kind of not great being an orb...but only because he can’t throw any rocks at dogs or have real conversations with anyone but his own Dad.
Anyway, Noah got a little bored. So his Dad sent him to virtual Mars.
Tumblr media
And now Noah only finds joy in hacking his digital pet. Relatable.
Tumblr media
Now I know a good chunk of you are my age--that good Jenna Marbles age--and will know exactly what I am referring to, as for the rest of you, turning your digital pet into a hell creation was just a thing we all did in year 2000ish. All of us did this.
And I was like “I bet you, that someone out there has made a robot Hex, I guarantee” because I spent...I want to say 2 years of my life downloading modded breedz of Catz 4? I even tried to do it myself but I wasn’t any good at it because I was super young and bad at computers, I never actually got Robbie William’s Millennium as a Catz meow (though trust me, I did try. It was my life’s dream when I was small.)
But the closest I found to a Robot Petz was this?
Tumblr media
Dang. Look at that thing. This one is actually pretty good because it does resemble an animal. I admire it a lot. Trust me, I spent like days moving my bunniez feet around trying to make a dragon and just ended up downloading someone else's dragon.
And then, from the same page I saw this gem right above it.
Tumblr media
HELL YES........
....I freakin love this period of the internet so freakin much. I was only ever really a part of a couple of fandoms as a child and the Petz fandom will forever hold a little part of my heart. I mean, look at this. What’s not to love?
Like, Catz is probably number 3 on my list of best games ever made. Not so much because the game was any good, but because none of the files were protected in any way so even kids like me could hack in there and make the weirdest abominations and post them all to their Angelfire pages.
Well, other kids could, I was so baby that I was still using my Mom’s email address and did not know how to put a damn thing on my webpage. Which I did have. But it had like...only frames. It had like 3 words and just me splitting the page into 50 frames because I did not know what I was doing.
I apologize to all the kids in the room who have never seen a web page covered in ugly ass frames. You lucky bastards.
....but Petz...Noah was into PETZ. I can respect him for that.
I still think he’s a little creep-o, but knowing that he hacked his pet has given me a lot of appreciation for his work.
Anyway, it was after Noah changed the boring ass simpleton dog into a much better dog that Gozoboro decided “I have made a monster, I am abandoning my boy.” Which uh...this was the thing?
This?
I mean as far as body horror goes, Litterbox up there is way worse. As far as body horror goes, we also have, Jinzo over here, but the digital dog with a cute robot head was the thing that made Gozoboro say “What have I done!?” The dog is digital, it’s not even alive.
Especially since I feel like the follow up question Noah made was like way more frightening than the dog thing?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kaiba glazes right over this entire conversation. Like full stop, he didn’t even seem to blink. No part of this story even slightly surprised him, although I will admit, at least Seto has decided that Noah...exists and might in fact be a robot his Father made once. This in itself is a big deal for Kaiba, who has a goldfish memory and denial wider than the sea he’s trapped under.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First of all, congrats to the storyboarder/animator for drawing a hand in that angle, mad respect.
Second of all, this is pretty close to the actual line from the show, Kaiba legit thinks that his Dad wanted Kaiba to be the president, after he knows full well that his Dad was like “Don’t Take Over My Company, You Little Twerp” and then like tried to even send Seto back to the orphanage whence he came. Kaiba’s pretty sure that his Dad wanted that whole thing to happen exactly the way it happened. No regrets. Just family being family.
And Moki’s still chilling on the Moki couch, just kinda taking this all in before he’s summoned unto the field like a playing card.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ah, yet another person who is like “KILL MEEE” on this show. It’s been kind of a while. Like, who’s left that hasn’t stood in front of a loaded card-gun like this? Duke? Is Duke the only one who hasn’t sacrificed his body for the greater card-good at this point? Is this why Duke is our amoral Chaotic Neutral? Is this why Duke is still the only one who hasn’t died yet (and I’m crossing my fingers still that he’s gonna be our death 169, it can happen, I can believe)?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel like this is the season of weird hugs. Like everyone on this show that has hugged has gotten a little weird. The only not-weird hug was when Yugi attempted to hug Joey once and then Joey dodged the hug and wrestled him into an arm-distanced noogie instead--which is technically still not a hug, but the closest we’ve gotten to something a human would do. It is so lucky for our art team that all the huggers are supposed to be hella weird anyway.
Anyway, next episode we get to find out if Noah also had an AIM username or got really into Jelly pens. I can see him getting suuuper into Jelly pens, with hair like that.
Anyway, here’s a link to Season 1 Ep 1 to read in Chrono order, in case you just got here and you’re looking for that.

How To Monetize Your Website and Make A Profit from Flipping Domains
Tumblr media
Many people nowadays are making money online by building websites and selling them on platforms like Empire Flippers and Flippa. This article will explain how you can monetize a website in order to gain a steady source of income or even sell that website to make a sizeable profit in a short time.
What does it mean when people talk about monetizing a site?
When bloggers, YouTube content creators or other individuals online speak about monetizing a site, they are referring to ways in which they can use their website to make money. Almost any type of content on the Web can be monetized, if you own it. Some investors also buy domain names and sell them. This process is known as domain flipping and it can be quite profitable.
If you have a blog on WordPress, Blogger, Wix or another popular platform, you can make changes to it that allow you to earn money from every page view. Similarly, if you own a website, you can earn when visitors to that site take specific actions, such as signing up for a course, purchasing a product or requesting information on a free program.
How can you monetize your website for free?
Whether you have a website that’s focused on cars, perfume or raising chickens, you can monetize it today. If you already have traffic coming in to your site, there are several ways to leverage that traffic in order to earn money. Some website owners aim to earn just enough to cover the expenses of domain hosting and content creation but others want to pay their mortgage, fund family vacations and add to their IRA through the work that they do on their website.
It’s entirely possible to earn $1,000 or more from your website each month. Some of the most popular ways of monetizing a site are:
Affiliate marketing
Selling your own products
Teaching a course
Display ads
Direct sponsorship
How To Collect Payments On Your Blog
Monetization options are usually free and most allow you to get paid by the provider of the program, so you don’t have to handle credit cards yourself. For example, if you’re a ClickBank affiliate, your revenue will be transferred to your account from ClickBank. However, if you sell homemade jam on your home cooking website, you’ll need to ensure that your site is set up to facilitate direct payments from your customers.
One of the easiest ways to collect payment for woodcrafts, handmade toys and other items that you might sell, is via Shopify or Woocommerce. You can also use PayPal Checkout to collect payments. Just log in to your PayPal account and under your Dashboard, click Quick Links and then Accept Payments.
Follow the steps and you’ll be able to accept credit cards and other payment options. This can be done with Blogger, TypePad and most other blogging platforms. When you monetize your blog by selling your own physical or digital products, you’ll keep 100% of the profits.
  Support Your Cause With Donations
Some bloggers use their blog to raise awareness about a cause that’s important to them and others. For example, their blog may focus on HIV awareness or supporting people who have overcome serious injuries. You can add a Donate Now button to your blog, via PayPal, to complement other monetization strategies that you use to raise funds.
How do beginner bloggers make money?
Most beginner bloggers make money from display ads. For example, they may sign up for a program such as Google AdSense. AdSense creates ad blocks of different sizes. These ad blocks display content that matches the topic of your webpage.
For example, if your website is focused on tango techniques, the ads that are displayed will be related to tango lessons, tango costumes and so on. The correct ads will only be displayed if the keyword density and other relevant factors are correctly addressed
For example, if you’re targeting ads on “tango dance techniques”, your content can’t keep mentioning “fly to Los Angeles”. If the keyword density of the latter keyword is too high, you may see ads for airlines appearing on your tango website.
Bloggers can also sell ad space directly to businesses in their community or seek sponsorship from organizations that are connected to the theme of their blog. For example, if your blog is about a local sports team, a sporting goods retailer nearby may want to purchase ad space on your site.
How To Monetize Website for Beginners – Use Ad Networks
AdSense is a Google product and it’s an ad network that’s available to bloggers who use Google’s Blogger platform. Videographers who post content on YouTube can also monetize their videos by using AdSense.
With AdSense, you can place different types of display ads on your site, such as banner ads. You’re free to experiment with the type of ads that you show on your site and if you find that banners aren’t effective for you, you can adjust the size, color and other aspects of the ads via your dashboard.
Like other ad programs, AdSense is free. You don’t have to pay any monthly fees and your account is credited every time a person views your webpage or clicks on your ad. The payment for page views is minimal but it adds up if you’re getting thousands of views a week. You’ll usually earn more for ad clicks than page views, especially if the ad is in a competitive niche, such as “lawyer in New York” or “mesothelioma lawyer”.
Word Ads is another popular option, that’s offered to bloggers who use the WordPress platform. As with AdSense, it’s ideal for beginners because it’s easy to set up. Like AdSense ads, the type of ads that are displayed depends on the type of content you have on the page. If you want to earn more money as a beginner, ensure that you create content that generates ads in competitive niches.
How To Monetize Website for Beginners – Focus On The Right Keywords
It’s important to build your blog around profitable keywords. Tools are available to help you determine how much is being bid for an ad for a particular keyword. You can use Wordsstream or Keyword Spy to find out how much you could earn if a visitor clicks on an ad for a particular keyword. Ensure that you develop content on your webpage with these keywords in mind.
  How do you monetize yourself?
In order to monetize yourself, you’ll need to create a personal brand. For example, consider Rihanna or Kim Kardashian. Whether you choose to like or dislike these women, they’ve both worked hard to create personal brands and leverage those brands to make money.
If you’re a teacher, think of how you can make your brand stand out. You can be known as the Geography teacher who makes other parts of the globe real to people of all ages. You would earn from your brand via speaking engagements that are hosted by tour companies, books that you write on travel or through semars you host which focus on applications of geography.
If you cook very well, you could build your personal brand around food. You may even choose to focus on a particular technique, taking advantage of trends in the market. For example, if you notice that consumers are moving towards healthier food preparation techniques, you could market yourself as the Steaming Chef, Raw Organic Chef or something similar.
You could teach courses on steaming different types of food and earn when peple pay to do those courses. The best thing about course creation is that once you’ve created an online course, you can keep earning by giving viewers the freedom to use the materials, for a fee.
You might also create a library of courses. You could provide access to members who pay a one-time fee upfront or who pay a smaller fee each month. Subscription models bring in a steady stream of income for people in a wide range of sectors but you’ll need to build your personal brand and leverage that.
How can I make my website profitable?
To make your website really profitable, you’ll need to:
Select a profitable niche
Use profitable monetization strategies
Produce quality content that engages your attention
Drive traffic by using SEO, email lists and social media marketing
Use A/B testing to increase conversions
If you’ve built a website but it’s not making a lot of money for you, there are several things that you can adjust to improve your profits. Sometimes new bloggers target a keyword that could pay a lot per click. However, they don’t get any traffic or clicks because the keyword is too competitive.
It’s important to check the level of competition that you have for a keyword before you start building your blog. Good keyword research is essential, whether you plan to sell products or create a membership site.
Sometimes bloggers decide to sign up for an affiliate marketing program. This means that whenever a visitor to their site takes a particular action, such as making a purchase on the partner site, the blogger will get a commission.
Unfortunately, some affiliate programs don’t pay well. You may need to switch to a program with better rewards, to increase your earnings. A lot of Amazon affiliates saw their earnings plummet when Amazon drastically lowered the percentage that they paid as a commission.
Amazon did this overnight. Oftentimes, the best way to secure your site’s revenue is to create and sell your own product. This includes ebooks, online courses and even apps.
  Flip A Domain
Domain flipping is one of the easiest ways to make money but you’ll need to have money to invest. When you flip a domain, you’ll purchase a domain name that you think will be in demand. You can sell that name at a higher price and make a profit.
This system works for several reasons. Google’s ranking system considers the keywords that are in the domain name, so for SEO purposes, certain domain names are in high demand. When you aim to flip a domain to make a profit, you’ll identify a good domain name and register it on a site like GoDaddy.
Different sites can’t have the same name, so if a particular name gets a lot of traffic, a lot of people will want it. The competition for that name drives the price up. It’s like buying an empty store in the busiest spot in a city. For example, these combinations are likely to be profitable:
DropshippingGuide com
Freegrocerycoupons.com
Cheapautoparts.com
Investors who buy domain names don’t add content to the site. They just buy the domain name and sell it at a profit. They don’t even need to worry about driving traffic to the name. This is what makes the process so easy.
Several investors look for expired domains. When you flip a domain that’s expired, you can often get a good price for it. You can use sites such as DomainHunter.net and tools like Domain Hunter Gatherer to find expired domains.
  Flip A Website
Instead of just buying a domain name, some investors buy an entire website. This is more expensive than purchasing names but you can make a bigger profit. Empire Flippers often has websites for sale. These are in different niches, so you can often find one in an area that matches your expertise, passion or knowledge.
You can purchase a site that you like and even make adjustments that might make it even more profitable. You can sell it back and earn thousands of dollars. You’ll also collect all the revenue that the site generates while you’re waiting for it to be sold.
Of course, you can also sell a website that you’ve built from scratch. If you don’t want to only flip a domain and like the creative process, this will give you big returns. Some people like to build websites but the process of maintaining a website can feel restrictive. In that case, building, monetizing and then selling websites can help you to achieve your financial dreams.
