This is why boredom can feel so surprisingly, aggressively unpleasant: we tend to think of it merely as a matter of not being particularly interested in whatever it is we’re doing, but in fact it’s an intense reaction to the deeply uncomfortable experience of confronting your limited control. [...]
No wonder we seek out distractions online, where it feels as though no limits apply — where you can update yourself instantaneously on events taking place a continent away, present yourself however you like, and keep scrolling forever through infinite newsfeeds, drifting through “a realm in which space doesn’t matter and time spreads out into an endless present,” to quote the critic James Duesterberg. It’s true that killing time on the internet often doesn’t feel especially fun, these days. But it doesn’t need to feel fun. In order to dull the pain of finitude, it just needs to make you feel unconstrained.

love me a public transit but also love having a car. looove being able to go from one place to a series of arbitrary places while carrying a large quantity of bulky objects, at high speed, while singing, especially in remote locations. and then to park and curl up in a sleeping bag and watch shooting stars through the rear windshield sheltered from the driving wind.

I was going to ask if you take commissions, but if you take OC requests, then I'd love to see one of these two in your style 😁
It's been a long time since I felt a genuine urge to say "the hell is such an amazing artist doing on my page"...
Your ocs and fanarts with them are great, both digital and traditional. I can't stop thinking about that comic with Akani and Mar, the execution is simply brilliant, I was savouring every page and panel.
Please keep drawing!

EXACTLY EXACTLY EXACTLY!! Part of what makes the "enlightenment" period so memorable is the art itself! We were at a point where book presses could make books, and therefore reading and maths, science and knowledge more and more accessible. Health sciences were getting better (to a degree anyways) so people were facing less illnesses).
And from all that we created and made art, made inventions and found knowledge. It was all for sharing and evolving and working together!! We should be spending our time making art, for what number of great artists are celebrated today?
Shouldn't it be the vast steps towards previously unheard of arts and mediums of expression and creation that should be deemed a victory? What reputation will our time period be known for?
I'm a strong believer that art (visual, audio, movies and anything made with passion) is a great way of tracking general human quality of life (in terms of, was it possibly better than before?). How is it treated? How is it wanted?
There's so many thoughts to have about this topic aergjkl.
I love the way your mind works anon!! You're right, the way Art is treated and produced is the easiest way to understand a historical period, even more so than its wars and tragedies and great events - I think you have a brilliant way to look at things ^^

By the way the second most baffling thing I’ve heard from hollow knight fans is void heart proves the knight is hollow or is the point where it becomes fully hollow. U know. Void heart. The charm that has the words “unifies the void under the bearer’s will”. When the entire speech PK does about being hollow that takes place like 30 seconds before you get the charm includes the words “no will to break.” Did We Play The Same Game.

Advent Prompt: 03/12/2022: Domesticity
Hex felt a bit unmoored in the TARDIS, still reeling from the cybermen in his home, in his hospital. Ace and the Doctor had clattered in, abandoning coats and brollies, while he hovered by the door. They disappeared through an inner door, too wrapped up in each other to notice him, and suddenly a bit panicked at being left alone in this impossible machine, he hurried along after, stumbling on his own sneakers as he came out into a corridor, his perplexing companions out of sight.
He followed their voices, coming through one of the doors that looked just like every other one in the corridor (and he felt a bit queasy, because how many were there?) It opened into a cosy looking... kitchen? The Doctor was at a sink, filling the kettle and good-naturedly arguing with Ace about something he didn’t understand, while she was dragging things out of a cupboard, and creating a haphazard pile on the bench below. A wide table sat in the middle of the room, surrounded by an awful lot of mismatched chairs considering she had said it was just the two of them. How would someone plan a dinner party for a time machine?
He stood in the doorway, watching their strange dance – the Doctor waggling his fingers at Ace as she tried to sneak something into the sandwiches (?) he didn’t approve of, her intentionally getting in his way in retaliation as he tried to reach for the teapot above them, half glimpsed amongst a collection of strange coloured boxes. They jostled shoulders, laughed and teased each other, and all the while, Hex stood in the doorway, hands sweating and feeling like he’d walked in on some weird platonic marriage.
Ace thunked a couple of plates on the table, not looking at him, and his heart sunk. He had already been forgotten about. But as the Doctor sat down opposite her, his hands juggling cups, the teapot, spoons and a sugar bowl in the way that made his brain ache, he slid the plate along a place, neatly aligning a teacup beside it. One went in front of Ace, and the final in front of his own seat.
“Hurry up then,” and he suppressed a surprised flinch that Ace was clearly talking to him. “The pot’ll go cold.”
So Hex sat down, and let the wash of the never-ending comfortable arguing wash over him as he tried to find his place in this madhouse.

Cognitive Frames for Defining What Government Is - Richard Morrison
While reading Richer Morrison’s essay called Self-Defeating Environmental Activism this particular paragraph caught my eye ( I recommend reading the entire essay).
“I call this unconstrained in part as a reference to the distinction the economist Thomas Sowell advanced, of a constrained vs. unconstrained view of society and government. The constrained view—broadly consistent with the ideas of our…
