oh god.... second favourite... this is such a cruel question poke . other than my ult fave i dont rly rank characters SOOO i will just choose my girly yachi <3 so dear to my heart
favorite thing about them: her catastrophising LMFAAOOOOO. shes a mess. all the time. i love that about her its so fucking funny. give her a xanax NOW.
least favorite thing about them: as much as i love her friendship with the first years and kiyoko, i wish she talked more to the other third years :( obviously this is just because i want her to have more screen/story time but also i think her and suga could be besties . they had the potential.

Hank/Jan, I know they're fucked up but I love them 😩
Which one is more fond of scary movies: Hmmmm I think as an actual thing to watch and enjoy probably Hank, but Jan often suggests them as an excuse for some snuggles :) she actively avoids them in every other context tho
Which one gets the most excited about Halloween: Janet absolutely loves to go all out for Halloween and make super elaborate couples costumes that really make everyone else look like the bargain bin beside, Hank's just happy to be there. To be honest I don't know if Hank had a strong Halloween experience as a child beyond The Corn.
Which one would be more likely to survive the apocalypse: Hmm.... if writers didn't have a hate boner for Hank constantly and liked to kill him probably Hank, but as Hank is fun to kill in apocalypse AUs Janet. I think generally Janet wants to help more than Hank does and I could easily see her dying in like a Zombie Apocalypse really easy trying to help civilians, while Hank would think more about the bigger picture and shrink him and his lab down somewhere hidden where he can try and work on a cute or a way out or something.
Which one would literally kill for the other: Both of them to be honest but Hank's more likely to succeed (war flashbacks of Ults Hank eating Blob's head that one time)
Which one likes to scare or startle the other: Janet, I think she absolutely gets a kick about very suddenly growing in front of Hank to scare the shit out of him and it always works.
Which one is more likely to need comforting when they get spooked: Janet definitely I think, both exaggerating and genuinely needing comfort when she's scared. She's a very... physical person like that and feels better touching her loved ones, while I don't think Hank needs a whole lot when scared but needs more support in times of grief or loss.
Which one always puts on a brave face: Both of them, comes with the job, Hank does it more but Janet is better at it generally.
Which one would be more dangerous if they suddenly became violent: Both of them tbh but I'll go with Janet, Hank is ultimately A Normal Human Man while Janet is underrated in her strength with her bio blasts n stuff.
Which one would be more likely to commit a crime: Hank is more likely to commit mild crime like stealing or property damage or smoking weed in places where it's not legalised but Janet would like Get In Serious Trouble for embezzling or some shit.
Which one believes in ghosts: Hank but he doesn't admit it ever but he knows not to Fuck Around And Find Out in certain scenarios.
Which one likes to watch spooky show on television: hmmm I'm not sure, again Hank by himself but Janet will if they're both watching together.
Which one would propose the idea of holding a seance: Janet, she thinks it's fun while Hank again is like Do Not Fuck Around And Find Out but Janet is all about Finding Out.
Which one has nightmares more often: Both of them to be honest but Janet is slightly better at working through her issues or at least more willing to try and work out the problem while Hank.... Hank I dont think even admits he's traumatised from watching Maria die, let alone any of the other shit so he absolutely gets pretty bad nightmares

what made u ship benyun, i followed u for chaeya but they grew on me too :'D is there some lore im missing or r they just sumn you liked, both of which are good btw !! id like to know more abt them

short answer: i simply noticed that chongyun and benny have some similarities, thought 'wow what if they hang out sometimes ^^' and was instantly hit in the head with a huge can of brainworms. have not recovered since.

i will prefix it with - no they Do Not have anything canon going on, i keep my otps as non-canon as possible to be in as much pain as possible :)
my undying love for benyun started and is fueled by the way they just seem to fit perfectly together? (similarly to what i feel about chaeya)
like it was this instant realization of just how much potential their interactions could have and how they could experience the world together and that their personalities seem to clash in the most positive way humanly possible <3
so as i said, it's started just with a silly observation that both bennett and chongyun have the same bonus for expeditions, both put out some sort of "field" with their e/ult and both don't like spicy food. that made me think they would be great friends, likely they would enjoy adventuring together :')
and then there was the idea of bennett being just Unlucky and chongyun being ... too Lucky(yang energy)? which could be balanced out when they're together!
so like bennett no longer as unlucky, while chongyun's positive energy isn't strong enough to keep all the spirits away
and it could work out in rather silly situations where a random rock doesn't hit bennett's head because chongyun caught it, or he just chooses the right path through the forest, quickly finds a random key for the door, monster doesn't get him, etc
and chongyun's energy will be suddenly not as effective, allowing him to see spirits and maybe handle the heat (perhaps of more emotional kind heh) better!
furthermore i think they would be very delighted around each other suddenly feeling so much luckier :')
kind of like they let each other live fully and their general world view/love for adventuring aligns well.
i think they would thrive around each other <3
and not to repeat myself but them being together means bennett is less unlucky or perhaps his "mistakes" have positive outcome (because of yang energy)
and chongyun can be a proper exorcist and have all of these strong emotions towards someone because his yang energy just doesn't work as intensely anymore (because of bennett's unlucky-ness)
overall, i fell for this ship very quickly because they give me intense Good Vibes <3

I know this sounds weird, but I would have preferred it if Pesterquest leaned more into the Post-Canon elements- as in, throughout each character's route, it was clear that certain mysterious forces (read: Ult!Dirk and Aysha) were forcing the Epilogues' characterizations onto the canon characters. For example, MSPA Reader might try to bring Karkat to John's house or Jade's island only to be forced to bring him to Dave's apartment; and Dave and Karkat instantly start pissing each other off- like in canon- before suddenly becoming all lovey-dovey.
As a bonus, Reader's last action before locking the timeline would be to flip Aysha the double bird while yelling "Davejade OTP!"
That would have definitely made the visual novel somewhat more interesting. The Reader/audience, breaking free from their bullshit and trying to protect their friends from becoming or turning into the Meat and Candy timeline.

the funniest thing about the canon davekat thing is how much they shoot themselves in the foot by trying to dance around it. such as with the picnic in the credits, or candy trying to pull the "every ship is canon" thing. its like flaunting your trophy while downplaying the win and trying to pull a consolation prize thing. that dont exactly work.
Hs2 davekat really is just a consolation prize and meat davekat feels more like a monkey’s paw than a “omg otp win” like everyone treated it
Because like did nobody remember that Ult Dirk was forcing Dave to kiss Karkat and mirrored the way Dave was abused by his Bro?? Or did everyone just romanticize it?? Rita has a better explanation of this but meat davekat’s get together was so fucked up and it just makes me uncomfortable whenever people praise hs2 for it
