I was thinking about their reaction when crush offering their lap for them to rest ( idk, for whatever reason they are very tired XD). Bonus point if crush's feelings about the boys are mysterious.

Hi girlypop! Thank you so much for the request I got really excited writing these! I assumed you wanted a Drabble so that’s how I wrote them lol. Anyway I didn’t write all of them in the stone world so I specified next to the name. Let me know if it’s ok. Thank you and I hope you enjoy!

Ryusui, Tsukasa, Ukyo, laying on their crushes lap

Ryusui: pre-petrification or 4d science

You’ve worked for the Nanami Conglomerate for a while, helping with basic tasks like cooking, cleaning, things like that. You first met Ryusui when Francois had to take a sick day, hearing you would get double the pay you took up the offer to be Ryusui’s personal maid/butler for a day or two. It’s safe to say Ryusui absolutely adores you! Even when Francois returned, Ryusui HAD to have you by his side, even if you weren’t “assisting” him. One day you were on your brake, sitting in a room for the servants to relax in (which Ryusui made such was super nice for you) when you hear a door slam from the other side. You close the book you were reading to see-you guessed it- Ryusui, looking more tired than he usually is. “Welcome home master Ryusui.” You smile at him. His face lights up, not looking nearly as tired as he was before. “(Y/n)! Thank God your beautiful face is here!” He says while walking over to you, his head placed on your shoulder. You blush only a little, getting used to Ryusui’s clingyness. “A long day sir?” You chuckle. “Yes! There were a bunch of boring meetings and I could barely work on my ships, no matter how much I desired to!” He says, huffing cutely. His arms start to tighten around your waist as he buries his head deeper into your shoulder. “Why don’t you get some rest?” You suggest to him. “I wanna stay with you…” Giggling ever so slightly, you propose an idea that makes his heart go crazy. “Then why don’t you rest your head on my lap for a while hm?” He looks you in the eye, so excited by your sudden suggestion. “I’d love that (y/n)! Now that’s something I desire!” Giggling once more you barley get to sit down before Ryusui practically tackles your lap. Your hand cups his cheek with a couple of fingers tangled in his hair. His smile fills up the room as his eyes flutter shut. Right before he falls asleep, you hear him whisper, “I love you (y/n)…” As the blush on your face darkens slightly, you can’t help but respond with what you’re heart tells you, “I love you too master Ryusui…”

Tsukasa: pre-petrification

Tsukasa just got done winning one of his fights. You walk into his locker room, about to congratulate him on his win when you notice him passed out on one of the benches. Sighing, you walk over to him, carefully picking up his head and placing it on your lap. “Moron. You have a press conference in an hour.” You pick up strands of his hair and begin braiding them together. It could have been your imagination, but you could swear he had some sort of smirk on his face. For about 40 minutes you sit there, watching his chest rise and fall, hearing his quiet snores and smelling the salt of his sweat. Not even thinking, you lean your face over his, only inches apart. As you slowly lean in, an alarm goes off, causing you to raise you head quickly. Tsukasa groans, slowly opening his eyes to his favorite sight. “(Y/n)..?” “Morning sleepyhead.” Tsukasa’s face reddens as he sits up from your lap. You didn’t know why he was so nervous, after all you’d let him lay on your lap when you were kids.“I-uh…I have to get ready for the conference….” He rushes up and walks towards the showering area. “Tsukasa!” You call out causing him to turn his head. “You did a great job today! I’ll be right here if you need anymore rest!” He turns his head away from you, his long hair covering his blushing face. “Thank you (y/n), that means the world to me….”

Ukyo: Kingdom of Science or Tsukasa Empire

After a long day of hunting Ukyo arrives back around 10 at night, making your worried self finally feel at ease. Some of the men help carry the fresh meat as Ukyo groggily walks to his quarters. To his surprise, you were there fixing his bed and cleaning up a bit. You look up at him and smile. “Welcome back Ukyo! The hunt go well?” You speak quietly, not trying to hurt his delicate ears. “Yeah, it went better than usual.” He yawns, rubbing his eyes. You smile at him as you sit in his bed. You pat you lap, “why don’t you get rest?” He’s embarrassed at the clear suggestion that he lay on your lap, but who is he kidding? He wants nothing more than to relax, and being able to sleep on YOUR lap is just a bonus. He walks over to you and gently lays his head down. “I’m not heavy am I?” He asks, making sure he’s not making you uncomfortable. “I’m fine, don’t worry about me. Just get some sleep ok?” I slightly nods, closing his eyes. You take off his hat and rub his head making him fall asleep faster. Letting out a soft sigh he sleeps soundly mumbling out one last goodnight. “Thank you (y/n), im glad you’re here with me…”

Yall might notice I play up Chrome’s beef with Ryusui. It’s funny to me. I know the don’t hate each other 😭

Context for All:

S/O and character met and started dating after the petrification.

S/O’s (barely) younger twin only gets woken up after some months or so.

Ryusui Nanami:

You and Ryusui both go to wake up your twin from the stone together.

Once your twin breaks free of the stone, they are looking, confused, at you and Ryusui joined hands.

They spit out some kind of “who are you?” At him. And he gives them a cheery, enthusiastic answer, calling himself your dedicated boyfriend.

Your twin doesn’t like him. (Chrome is cheering somewhere in the background)

They tell him to watch himself. And that’s when he’s confused.

What did he do?

Then they pull you away often, finding excuses. Eventually, out right telling him to stay away from you, but not in front of your face.

This is like putting him in a straight jacket for a week. He’s attached to you most the time like a magnet, but now your twin is repelling him out.

He tries to win them over too. Gifts. Words. Whatever.

He’d explain himself by loudly exclaiming how much he loves you.

This is worsening it.

I think your twin would come around when they’re around him for a while and notice just how much he does for you. It’s not just things he HAS done for you, he does things too.

Like when they watch you get hurt, only slightly, not bad enough to warrant being carried, but he carried you an hour walk back to the village anyways.

They won’t tell him, but they approve now.

Gen Asagiri:

Another one I can totally see a sibling disliking at first.

When you wake up your twin and bring them back to the village, Gen is waiting for you. He greets them too.

And your twin tells you his smile looks creepy, quietly, but he heard it, and being who he is, he smiles more sinister and says some comment.

Mistake. Your twin doesn’t like him.

Now he spends all his time trying to use his mentalist tricks to get your twin to like him, but they’re really good at dodging all that shit and glaring at him.

Knowing he’s a huge liar, your twin asks you how you can trust him. How do you know he’s not sleeping around.

They heard him joke about harem, and when you all went to treasure island, you weren’t with them, but he joked about wanting a hug from Amaryllis.

Your twin reports this back to you, and you inform them that you can’t take his words at any sort of face value.

He wants people’s reactions.

It would take a lot, watching genuine interactions, for your twin to warm up to you being with the world’s “greatest liar.”

Overall, they’d just have to learn to understand he’s hard to understand.

So for a while, they don’t get that. They are annoyed by his antics. So they secretly throw out some vague threat one night, and then your bf is suddenly not coming around.

This makes you upset, but eventually you notice he looks ever so slightly scared of your twin. And you put two and two together.

I think like how people come to trust Gen eventually once they see through him (as much as you can see through Gen, he’s a tough one) your twin would eventually just notice he means well.

Then they’re just watching closely from a distance.

He’s terrified.

Senku Ishigami:

Your twin is so justified. Lets just start there. This one isn’t even a full on misunderstanding. This would be Senku acted like a bitch, because he’s just too forward to give a fuck, and now they think he’s a bitch.

Not to mention, he’s not exactly intimidated. Just annoyed when your twin wakes up from the stone and immediately goes to telling him to stay away.

You didn’t warn him about this.

Everybody seems to like Senku though, they begin to realize.

They spend a while figuring out why.

And for a while, even with that information. They keep him far away from you because they don’t think he treats you right.

He has an ex wife? He divorced her? He talks to her like that didn’t happen?

Yeah, he better keep his ass 10 kilometers away at all times.

Then eventually they notice how he does his best for you. He’s a busy man. He’s got a lot on his plate. Once they recognize this, they begin to warm up to him.

He makes things to make your life easier, and when nobody is looking, except your twin, secretly, he’s affectionate (as much as Senku can be)

They let him off the hook.

Ukyo Saionji:

It wouldn’t happen.

But let’s say for SOME reason, they dislike him. Just because they don’t want you to get hurt. They have trust issues with that kind of thing. Maybe you’ve been with some men, or anybody really, they’ve watched you cry over before.

They think nobody deserves you.

Not even Ukyo. Bless his heart.

They threaten the poor man.

He’s not scared to go around you, but they refuse to include him in anything. Actively trying to shun him.

Honestly, in this scenario, you’d have to stand up for him a bit because he did nothing to warrant this.

Eventually, with some discussion with you, and maybe some heartfelt conversation Ukyo had with them about you, they’d come around.

He’s got a good record, and he just doesn’t want to see anybody get hurt?

Yeah, they’ll come around.

Chrome:

You were so excited to introduce your twin to your new boyfriend. Because how could anybody dislike Chrome?

Your twin does. Your twin dislikes him.

Let’s just say he’s annoyed, and hurt. And he literally thinks about you 24/7 so how is he supposed to just stay away from you???

How can they do this to him?

This is psychological torture.

Suika tries to help him. 100%.

Your twin thinks Suika is adorable, but he sent a kid instead of talking to them???

They’re on your twin’s “shit list.” He’s the only one on the list right now.

He tries to show off now hoping that your twin will think he’s cool and let him back near you.

If this was the modern era, he would have stood outside your window with a boombox. Or talked to you Romeo and Juliet style, with the boombox ready. But he doesn’t have a boombox. Or any skill to play a musical instrument. He doesn’t even know what that is.

He starts shouting things loud enough so that you can hear them, but without getting anywhere near you.

Your twin notices his persistence, and the way he looks at you, and eventually lets up.

Hyoga Akatsuki:

Your twin immediately heard about what he did.

He’s banned from your eyesight, the ground you walk on, the air you breathe.

They threaten him, and he smiles. They’re pissed, because how can he care so little?

Your twin has GUTS for doing anything about this man.

He keeps his distance at first, honestly just not thinking it’s worth it.

But admittedly, he’s more attached to you than he says he is.

They start to notice him sneaking around at night, when he thinks they’re not looking, just to see you.

Though they think about going off on him, they don’t. They just watch from a distance, ready to attack him if they need to. They’re not afraid of him. (They probably should be but they fear NOTHING)

They notice he doesn’t do anything. Often times he’ll just sit there, and the two of you exchange a few words. Clearly just happy to be together.

And they realize he’s got a soft spot for you.

He’s a cold man, usually his exchanges have malicious intent, but your twin is smart enough to notice that he doesn’t have any malicious intent here.

He gains nothing from these actions. Well he does, but not an upper hand. Just a warm feeling.

Likely they’ll just walk by the two of you and wave, continuing walking, and that’s how they’ll let him know he’s off the hook.

They keep an eye out though, for him in general. Because even if it’s clear he’s smitten with you, he’s still a concerning man.

I almost can't find fanfic of this angel, he deserves more love in dr stone Anyway if you can, if not ignore ok <3

You and Ukyo are like an old married couple.

Not the ones who bicker childishly that others made fun of, but those sweet, domestic couples with a seemingly very rare, special connection. Many people could only aspire to have a relationship half as loving and kind as yours, but if you were asked (which you definitely were), there really was no big secret. You simply loved one other and put in the work to make it show, and shown it was through small acts of love and service.

Those small acts made up your relationship. Hairline kisses. Finishing each other's food. Staying up together watching a show. Learning something new together. Reading together. Hello and goodbye kisses. Nightly walks with your arms intertwined. Resting your heads atop each other.

He’d help you get ready for bed when you accidentally let your work take you into the early hours of the morning. You’d treat him to a relaxing night when he’d come back from an exhausting job. You took turns running different errands. It was these small things stacked atop one another, this balance and mutual effort that led to such a harmonious relationship everyone envied.

The small things still lingered even after reuniting in the stone world. Stealing his hat, learning archery with him, sleepy conversations as the two of you drifted off to sleep. Learning to navigate your way through your new life as the two of you once navigated your way through your old one.

Both of you had your respective lines of work, and Ukyo refused to do his unless you were by his side doing yours. Everything he did, he did for you, and Ukyo never wanted you to live plagued by fear. In your large, intimidating and unpredictable worlds, at least there was the stability of your relationship that took form in those small acts.

He’d open up to you about his doubts, his fears, his insecurities, as did you. Especially when he acted as part of the Tsukasa Empire out of fear, you simply held his hand and told him how incredible it was that even in this harsh world he’s maintained his kind heart. You let yourselves be vulnerable, trusting that the other would reach out a comforting hand to hold. It wasn’t all that easy, and it certainly took time to build up that unwavering trust, but all the setbacks only reinforced that bond you have today, because you still stayed together through the ugly bits those envious people never saw.

He’d finish your leftovers when you accidentally ordered too much food. You’d comb through his hair to help him relax at night. The two of you listened to one another free of judgment, and gave nothing but truthful advice when asked for it. All of these things were simply reminders that the balance was there. The love, the trust, the effort was all always there.

And so when you were to depart with Ukyo after Ryusui declared that he was needed overseas, the two of you didn't worry. Instead, you smiled and bid him farewell- making sure that he knew he was a dead man if anything happened to him- and waved him off, confident despite your joke that he would return to you with the rest of his crew a hero, as he had always been in your eyes.

Ukyo Saionji x reader

When Ukyo first met you, he shrugged off how he thought you were cute. You gave him a bright smile, giving the same smile to the other new members of the Science Kingdom.

After that, ever since he was injured at the fight between Tsukasa and Senku, he would always end up staring at you, mesmerized. The way you laid him down gently, the way you were patient with him everytime he groaned at the pain, whispering assurances that everything would be fine. You treated him with care, and bandaged him gently, and he was in a trance. He only snapped out of it when you asked, “They are in trouble. Could you help them, just a bit?”

After his newfound admiration for you, he slowly got up, and went back to the fight. But before he could take one step away, you grabbed his hand, which gave him happy tingles all over. “Take care of yourself, Ukyo.”

Since then, he would always get warm whenever you were around. He wasn’t dumb, he knew what it was, but he didn’t want to admit it yet. He reasoned with himself, ‘I’m just observing her ways of medicine and simple first aid, you would never know who needs it in the future.’ Yet even when you were doing things completely different from treating injured or performing first aid, he would pick up your small traits. He would see your bouncing knee as you sat down, anxious that you might have not treated them properly.

Even if he couldn’t keep his eyes on you, he would listen for you. He quickly realized it was a hobby of yours to sing. He would hear you humming the old songs from the modern age that you still remembered. It was a way for you to stay awake during all of those years of petrification, he realized. In one way or another, by hearing you hum those songs, he remembered music from the modern age too. You would sing a variety of songs when no one was around you.

When he asked you, you replied, “I love music. I couldn’t live without it. Besides medicine, I could play a number of instruments. Though since this stone world doesn’t have music, I have to sing them to myself just to not forget.”

He approached Senku after that, consulting him about music.

“Hey Senku, is there a way for us to record some music or songs? Like what your father did?”

Senku grinned. “We could. It would take a lot of manpower to make a recorder. We skipped a lot of years through science.”

Ukyo nodded solemnly. Senku suddenly nudged him with his elbow and snickered. “Oh, what’s this about? Is it for someone?”

Ukyo turned away, before Senku could see his slightly red face. He walked away, without any response to the said question. The things he would do for you….

He smiled to himself.

He liked you.

He kept his crush on you a secret, and did his chores and patrolling as usual. But he could hear your singing lessen throughout the week, and he became genuinely concerned for you, as he could the chopping, scraping, and whatever sounds you could make with wood around you.

When everyone would get called for breakfast, he could see deep eyebags, obviously from you staying up all night, doing whatever you were doing. That only increased his worry even more.

But then you began talking to Senku and Nikki more. He tried thinking of similarities between the two, but he couldn’t think of anything. You looked so excited and happy, he didn’t want to interfere with your happiness.

Oh boy, he was in for a surprise.

After two grueling weeks of worrying about you, Senku called everyone over at night, after everyone ate a delicious dinner of ramen. He rarely ever hears Senku call for everyone, so this must be serious.

That was false. As soon as he saw Nikki standing beside you, with both of your faces lighting up, he sensed your happiness would go through the roof tonight. He let it be, and listened to Senku beginning to speak.

“Uhhh, hello everyone, you dunderheads might be wondering why I called you all over tonight. We-” He was cut off by your squeals of joy, and everyone’s heads turned to you.

Senku snickered, “Fine, you explain.”

You grinned, and turned to the group. “We made instruments!”

The brutes, the scientists, the engineers, the combat fighters, all cheered.

Nikki spoke up. “You all love Taylor Swift, right? Because I do. So much. And Y/N here is going to play some songs for us.”

The villagers had a comical question mark above their heads, except for Ruri, who cheered too. “I heard about her in the tales from our ancestors! She was a great pop singer in their time!” That caused the villagers to cheer too.

“I remember most of them, but I’m not sure about the others. Make sure to correct me, alright? We don't exactly have electric guitars or proper drums, but this was the best I could do!”

You then sat down, with Nikki beside you, holding drums, and you brought out a real guitar with real strings.

“I’m going to sing All too well first, alright? This is the 10 minute version.”

The group cheered so loud, Ukyo thought his eardrums were going to burst. But nevermind them, he too, missed Taylor Swift’s songs.

You strung the first few chords of the intro, and everyone quieted.

I walked through the door with you, the air was cold

Ukyo heard Yuzuriha whisper to the others, “This part is so magical.” They got even more absorbed in you. He smiled. He was looking forward to hearing how you would sing it.

As your strums began t slow and outro slowly died down, everyone didn’t make a sound. Everyone’s jaws hung open, including Ukyo’s. I guess that’s the effect of not hearing this song in 3,000 years. He fell more deeply in love with you. After a minute, you just sat there, scared they didn’t like your voice, or your playing of the guitar.

But then everyone started clapping, shouting.

“That was awesome!”

“Your voice was so calming, Y/N!”

“Do it again!”

“I miss the old times!”

You chuckled, happy that you made everyone happier.

But you made one person the happiest.

Ukyo.

He loved you now.

Yeah, he did.

a/n — first post! dedicated to a close friend who got me into this series and helped me figure these out. enjoy my take on these characters!

☁️ chrome ;;

give | receive ~ gift giving / acts of service

• Chrome is someone who always wants to make himself useful. If he can do things to make your life easier or to make you smile — he will. This translates into how he shows affection to a partner.

• Considering the effort he puts into science just to try and heal Ruri, actions speak louder than words for him. By no means is he someone who can properly express himself through words to you, anyway. He’d be far too flustered.

• Instead, he takes to using a combination of acts of service and gift giving to show that he loves and cares about you. If you’ve complained of a problem — no matter how small — he’ll put forth as much effort as possible to solve it with science.

Having trouble hauling things up and downhill? He’ll find a process to make it easier for you! If not, he’ll just help you himself, of course! Whatever it is that he can do — he will. If it means making your life easier or taking a little off your workload, he’d do anything in his power.

• For the most part, he’ll try his best to figure it out on his own, but he isn’t afraid to ask Senku for help if it’s for your sake. Once he’s finished, he’ll happily showcase whatever it is he’s made to you — explaining the process behind it as he does so.

• In all honesty, doing things for you, making things for you — it comes naturally to him. Chrome is creative yet practical. In his eyes, of course he’ll make something if you mentioned having a problem with it. Of course, he’ll make you a gift reflective of something from the modern age because you mentioned it. Science is all about making things easier for others and making people smile, so is it so strange that he’ll do that for you — a person he loves so dearly?

• The process coming naturally to him doesn’t mean he puts no thought into it — quite the opposite, actually. Showing his affection through action and gifts comes naturally because he’s always considering you in all he does. He thinks about the smile you’ll have on your face, or the fact that if you could, you’d also do so much for him purely because you love him.

• You support him in a way no one else has before, so he repays you in the way that makes the most sense to him — science and all of the gifts it can offer to you.

• At the end of the day, any all-nighters, struggles, and pain is worth seeing you smile. In Chrome’s eyes, seeing you smile is far more fulfilling than his experimenting creating a fruitful product.

• Chrome thinks that if he can keep making you happy with something he loves doing — something you’ve always effortlessly supported him in, then it just makes his chosen path even more worthwhile.

• Considering the amount of effort he puts in for others, Chrome really values when people recognize it. He loves hearing praise and affirmation for his achievements — true recognition for the amount of painful labor that goes into every scientific project he works on with Senku and Kaseki.

• If you praise him for figuring something out on his own, regardless of whether or not it’s something that people from the modern era have already seen, he’ll try to act casually. Chrome will insist that it’s only natural he managed — he is a scientist, after all!

• However, you don’t miss the way he genuinely smiles, face flushed a light shade of red — elated that someone recognizes the hard work and passion he puts into every single process he does.

• After a while of inventing crazy things, smaller things might go unnoticed despite the effort they take, so Chrome really appreciates that you still praise and happily share awe over these things. He likes knowing that he doesn’t have to create something absolutely crazy to be worthy of your praise — you see the effort, not the end product.

• Beyond just praise for his achievements, Chrome needs someone who’ll be there at his low points. It can get frustrating when he relentlessly experiments to no avail, or when he feels like he’s made a huge oversight that’ll result in him having to start from scratch.

• While he’ll never openly express it to others, he has his moments where he feels worlds behind Senku or even Kaseki’s level of intelligence. Some days, he still feels like the boy that called himself a sorcerer with no clue as to the processes behind what he was doing. Sometimes, he loses track of the progress he’s made.

• That’s why it’s so important that you remind him that he is a scientist — he brings his own expertise to the table that even Senku or Kaseki don’t. You remind Chrome that he’s earned his place as a scientist through backbreaking effort and a desire for knowledge.

• When he struggles with an experiment, you channel excitement back into the conversation, insisting that you can’t wait to see what he’ll try next. When he makes an oversight, you tell Chrome that he’s finally got it figured out, so he’s one step closer to the satisfaction of the end product. In Chrome’s moments of doubt, you remind him of how much he’s accomplished and encourage him to keep going.

• Because at the end of the day, he’s bound to have his ups and downs. Having you there to remind him that someone is supporting him — that someone loves him despite any failures or drawbacks is so important to him. It makes things easier and all the more worthwhile.

• Gen is skilled when it comes to the way he uses his words. It’d be no different when it comes to his partner. He knows exactly what to say no matter the mood you're in — happy to provide words of comfort, reassurance, and support.

• However, don’t mistake his actions as manipulative or deceitful. He will never say anything to you that he doesn’t mean — each carefully selected word is truthful, always reflecting what he believes. Being good with words mixed with being a mentalist does not mean he’ll lie to you.

• Actually, being a mentalist is what helps Gen understand the weight and power that words can have over a person. The last thing he’d ever want to do is use that to hurt you — so he’ll be truthful with all that he says to you.

• Honestly, it’s not difficult for him to be honest when it comes to you. When he praises you, it’s because he’s genuinely proud of the effort you’ve put in. When he helps reassure you, it’s because he knows that, with time, things will improve. After all, he’ll be there by your side to ensure that it gets better. When Gen provides comfort, promising to remain by your side no matter the situation, it’s because he wants to — he hopes to keep that promise regardless of any hardships you may face in the Stone World.

• Gen is far too used to having to use his words to deceive others, so it’s relieving to be able to use them in the way he wants when it comes to you. He doesn’t have to worry about you being skeptical of what he’s saying. You trust him — you know that he’ll never do anything to try and trick you. Every word he says to you is true, and even if he did feel the need to conceal the truth from you, you’d know it’s because he has a good reason to.

• Above all else, Gen wants to protect you and be a constant source of support for you. Whenever you struggle, he wants you to know that you can come to him and he’ll talk you through all of your troubles.

• With Gen by your side, you’ll never stay nervous for too long. As soon as he notices that you’re worrying about something, Gen will be there to soothe you — happy to remind you that he loves you dearly, and no matter what may happen, he’ll be there to support you.

• When it comes to what Gen prefers to receive, acts of service rank the highest for him.

• Gen is used to doing things and having things done for him because of deals he makes. If someone does something for him unprompted, he automatically assumes that it’s because the other person wants something from him.

• Having someone do things for him to make his life easier or to make him happy, purely because they love him, is something that Gen isn’t used to.

• In the modern world, people did things for him because he was famous and they wanted something, be it money or fame. In the New World, people do things for him in order to convince him to use his abilities as a mentalist for some insane plan with a slim chance of working.

• Most things done for him are purely transactional, so when you do things for him, he’s shocked to learn that you expect nothing in return. He tries to scan you for any sign that you may be lying but finds nothing. When he asks why and you respond that it’s because you love him, it’s difficult for him not to fall for you even harder than before.

• Despite being so unfamiliar with this type of affection, Gen adores it. You’re always looking out for him and considering him without him having to say anything. You’ll lend a helping hand without Gen asking, and you’ll make things for him when you recognize that he’s getting worn out.

• Overall, you’re always thinking of him and it shows in the way you act. And every time he asks how he can repay you — if you want anything in return — you’re quick to shut him down. You’ve never needed him to do anything in return — it was never, and will never be, transactional to you.

• To you, he’s enough. Loving him is enough of a repayment, and Gen has never felt happier to have you by his side.

• Kohaku doesn’t see the value in materialistic things, and often finds herself too busy with various tasks to truly offer up as much time as she’d like to you. However, she can show her love through actions.

• Similar to how she hauled hot spring water back and forth for Ruri when she was ill, Kohaku expresses her love in the things she does for you. Her each and every action is imbued with her heartfelt wish to see you happy. There is no limit to the lengths she’ll go to to see you smile.

• If you’re sick, Kohaku will fret over you — stemming from a mix of concern for your well-being and a fear that you’ll become as unwell as her sister did. She hasn’t lost anyone since science was introduced in her life, and she certainly isn’t planning on doing so now.

• Even when you’re not sick, Kohaku is always looking out for you. Nothing escapes her keen eye. When you find yourself even a little tired, Kohaku is there to offer you a shoulder to lay on while you recover and rest. If you’re injured, she’s the first one to help you sit down and try her best to patch you up.

• Despite how direct Kohaku can be, she’s always shown affection better through actions than words. She doesn’t consider herself intelligent like Senku or good with words like Gen. However, she’s nothing if not honest, so her love reflects in the way she acts.

• Kohaku has a good enough memory to recall the things you’ve mentioned wanting or needing. As much as she wishes that she could do something about it herself, she’s happy to pass the task on to the Science Team. If it’ll make you smile, she doesn’t feel the need to be the direct reason for it.

• Though, even if she tries to insist she didn’t lift a finger, the scientists will always credit her for any ideas she brings up on your behalf. As much as she tries to brush it off, she can’t deny the way her heart flutters when she receives your genuine gratitude.

• Kohaku is happy to do anything and everything for you. She wants to protect you because you make her happy — and you’re someone precious to her. If it takes a little effort on her part to keep you healthy and protected, she’s happy to contribute. After all, to her, you’re worth it.

give | receive ~ physical affection

• Kohaku enjoys being shown that she’s loved and cared for. For her, the best way to do that is through physical affection. Kohaku often treats others roughly, having always been someone with a tough love type of mindset.

• However, when it comes to herself, she appreciates it when someone treats her kindly. More often than not, the only touch she experiences is through sparring and fighting — never anything gentle or loving.

• Growing up, she became far too afraid to show affection to Ruri due to her sickly state, not wanting to accidentally injure her sister. Even now, she’s often told that she hugs too tight or squeezes too hard. It makes her afraid to initiate affection.

• It becomes incredibly important to her when you start initiating physical contact on your own. She can be a bit of a brute sometimes — aren’t you afraid?

• She’s equally relieved and elated that you aren’t. You’re happy to shower her in gentle affection and touch — bringing her a lot of comfort. When things get tough, she needs that physical touch as a reminder that you’re still there — that you’re alive.

• The Kingdom of Science has many close brushes with death. Naturally, this’ll include you and Kohaku. When it’s all said and done, she loves being able to relax in your embrace and listen to your heartbeat.

• When she’s having a hard time, she doesn’t always want to talk, so it’s nice to have someone there who won’t force her into speaking about her troubles. Kohaku enjoys that you’ll just be there to hold her tight and soothe her when things start to get heavy.

• As protective as she is of you, she enjoys having someone who wants to protect her, as well. She enjoys knowing that you’ll always be there for her — that you’ll never shy away from giving her affection even if she can be a little brash or rough at times.

• Kohaku may be a warrior, but she’s still human. She craves that physical touch from you, consciously or otherwise. Whether it be holding your hand while walking around, or her just gravitating to your side when she isn’t busy — she always seeks out your warmth.

• Of course, if someone calls her out on it, she’s quick to deny it. However, as long as you don’t mind it, she’s happy to receive your love and touch because it shows her how much you truly do love her.

• Ryusui has a lot of money at his disposal in the modern era and in the new age now, as well. While he can be indulgent, he’s also smart with his money. He uses it intentionally and can remember just about everything he’s spent his money on. He uses his money to uplift and motivate others, so it’s only natural that he does the same with you.

• Even in the New World, he could buy just about anything he wanted. However, when it comes to selecting gifts for you, he’s intentional about it. He sees no point in giving someone a gift if you aren’t going to carefully consider the other person’s preferences. It’d be a waste of money, and it wouldn’t do much to motivate you or make you happy, so he knows he has to be careful.

• Despite his carefulness with money, Ryusui would be more willing to spend more to indulge you. He loves you, and he wants to make sure you know it. Of course, if you tell him not to go overboard with it, he’ll listen to you.

• He’ll find whatever excuse he can to get you a gift. If a mission is successful, he’ll buy you something to commemorate. If he’s been away for a long while, he’ll buy you something to make up for it. Even if you just mention wanting something, he’ll buy it or will pay the science team to make it.

• By no means is he trying to buy your love. He isn’t the type. If he desires you, he knows he can’t just buy you out. Actually, the gifts serve the purpose to make you happy and to remind you of him when he’s busy. As the Kingdom of Science trusts him more, he finds that he’s busier and busier. To make up for it, he wants to make sure you’ll have things that remind you of him or will keep you occupied to ease the loneliness at least a little.

• For similar reasons, he’ll buy you clothing or accessories so, in a way, he can always be with you even when he’s away. Hell, if you wanted it, he’d give you his own things if it’ll help make you happy and ease your heart when he can’t be there with you himself.

• Ryusui knows that he can’t buy your happiness or love, but if the gifts he gets you can make you at least a little happier, then it’s worth it in his eyes. He desires anything and everything, but one of his strongest desires is to see you happy.

• The way you smile when you receive a heartfelt present from him is worth every penny he spends because, in return, he gets to show you how much he loves you and see you at your happiest. That alone is absolutely priceless.

• Since he was young, Ryusui has always seen the value in spending time with those you love. Memories are priceless, so he appreciates when you make time for him. He loves spending quality time with you working on something together, relaxing side-by-side, or even just sitting together and doing absolutely nothing.

• Considering how things went with his brother, Sai, he places an even bigger emphasis on spending time together. While he’ll usually go after what he desires, Ryusui is self-aware, so he knows that he may come off as forward and forceful. The last thing he wants us for you to feel pressured to spend your time with him. That’s why he enjoys it so much when you go out of your way to plan something with him or make time for him.

• Time is invaluable in his eyes. The fact that you’re so willing to give so much of it to him makes him feel loved — it lets him know that you care and you see him as someone worth spending time with. To him, it showcases the fact that you don’t need anything from him to want to spend time with him — you're happy just being by his side.

• Although Ryusui can be a bit flashy and extravagant in his chosen activities and hobbies, he’s happy to do anything with you. If you’d prefer a quiet night in, he’s elated to sit by your side and chat with you away from prying eyes. If you’d prefer something more adventurous — he’ll be there by your side should you ever grow fearful!

• He tries his best to make sure you two capture as many memories as possible in photos. He wants to remember every moment he spends with you.

• In his rare moments of frustration or melancholy, truthfully, he desires nothing more than your company. If he has to spend his day upset or frustrated over an issue or obstacle, he’d much rather do so with you by his side. He finds comfort in your presence, even appreciating if you’re simply in the room with him while he works.

• Being able to simply turn around and have you there means a lot to him. You could be anywhere doing whatever you please, but you’re choosing to instead spend that time in his presence. It makes his heart beat a little faster each and every time.

• Each time he remembers how wonderful it is that he has the person he desires most in the world by his side, he’ll walk over to you, hug you tightly, and thank you for remaining by his side.

• And it always makes Ryusui feel loved when you tell him that there’s nowhere else you’d rather be.

• Ukyo, with his precise hearing, is typically able to catch on when you’re having a tough time or are struggling with something. However, he isn’t exactly great with words, nor does he want to make you feel like you have to talk to him.

• He knows it can be a little uncomfortable because it’s hard to keep a secret from him. However, he never wants you to think he doesn’t care, so he uses physical affection to silently show you that he’s here for you, loves you, and is always willing to hear you out should you want someone to listen to.

• Whether it be a gentle hug, holding your hand, or lending you his shoulder, he’ll do all he can to express how much he adores you without making you feel pressured into telling him every little thing.

• Beyond just times of need, he’s happy to show you affection casually, as well. It comes naturally to him. When he’s sitting and working on something, he’s used to having you next to him and will let you lean against him or hold his hand. It’s not strange for him to have his hand intertwined with yours even when you’re just walking around the Kingdom of Science.

• Ukyo is a fan of soft, little shows of PDA here and there but will never do anything that’ll make you uncomfortable. If anything, he’ll abstain from it completely if it makes you uncomfortable. Either way, in private, he’s affectionate toward you, showering you in hugs, kisses, or whatever your preferred form of physical touch may be.

• Let it be known that he isn’t above teasing you from time to time either. If he hears your heartbeat quicken, he’ll poke fun at you for it, happy to see that he has just as much of an effect on you as you have on him. He finds any and all of your reactions endearing, but will never tease you in public. After all, he’d hate to make you even a little uncomfortable.

• He loves showing you just how loved you are, and when he hears your heart skip a beat, he knows that his message is getting across — you know that you’re adored, supported, and cared for. That’s what truly matters to him above all else.

• If it takes him holding you close and squeezing you a little tighter for you to feel confident in his feelings for you, then it’s easily worth the effort.

• Having hearing like Ukyo’s is both a blessing and a curse. While it can give him a one-up on enemies and proves useful for the Kingdom of Science, it isn’t exactly something he can just turn off. Even when he doesn’t want to be, he’s constantly drowning in sound — overlapping conversations, animals from afar, and the sound of hard labor mix into a cacophony that often makes him overwhelmed.

• Typically, he’s good at concealing how much it bothers him to be able to hear so much. Things that may sound quiet to others might echo loudly in his ears, but he’ll never say a word so as to not inconvenience others.

• Having you there to recognize when he gets overwhelmed, and having you there to spend time with him when he needs a moment away from it all is so important to him. Before meeting you, Ukyo has never realized how nice it is to have someone who understands that he’s prone to getting overwhelmed.

• You always seem to notice when he’s getting fatigued or when his head starts to hurt from listening to countless things all day. It never matters when it happens, you always make time for him to pull him away from the chaos of it. You’ll take Ukyo somewhere private and quieter, gently showering him in quiet affection while he rests in your arms.

• Ukyo appreciates that you don’t mind spending time with him in silence. Of course, he loves having fun with you on normal dates, but it’s these silent moments spent in each other’s embrace that mean the most to him.

• It reminds him that you’ll never make him uncomfortable or push him when he’s at his limit. You’re happy just being with him — you don’t always need fancy dates or to even fill the silence with chatter. It makes him feel loved knowing that you’re content to keep him in your arms.

• You’ll sometimes cover his ears for him if even the distant sounds seem to be bothering him. Then, you’ll spend as much time with him as he needs. Ukyo always feels bad for wasting your time in such a way, but he’s quickly reminded of how much you care when you reassure him.

• Time spent with him is never time wasted in your eyes. You’re happy to do so to make him more comfortable and to make sure he’s taken care of when he gets a little too overwhelmed.

• The last thing you’d want is for him to struggle on his own — you love him, and you want him to be able to spend time with someone who cares to prove to him that he doesn’t have to stay quiet when he’s in pain.

• It works — because Ukyo knows that come hell and high water, you’ll always have time to spend with him should he need it, and he loves you dearly for it.

Dr. Stone x Reader - Boyband AU!

Genre: Fluff, just general headcanons lol. Modern!AU, Band!AU

Featuring: The Five Wise Generals!

A/N: Hey y’all! It’s been a really long time! I’ve had this AU idea in my head for a while now and I thought it was time to share it with y’all! Enjoy!

Senku Ishigami

Senku was kind of blackmailed into the band lol

When the band was still new, he worked behind the scenes.

Unfortunately, Chrome decided to post a video of Senku singing to himself while working on his latest science project

The video went viral, and every record company that wanted the band wanted Senku as a main member.

He joined with the idea that he MIGHT be able to hitch a ride into space one day.

In the early stages of your relationship, Senku is not very affectionate.

He tends to show his affection towards you in small ways

When you attend the band’s concerts, he immediately finds you in the crowd.

Once he finds you, he’ll sing to you.

He engages with the rest of the crowd, so that it’s not obvious that he’s focusing only on you. But his gaze always finds its way back to you.

When he’s recording songs, or rehearsing for concerts, he demands you come along.

He usually will say it’s because it’s the only way he can stand the process, really he just wants to impress you~

On social media, he probably won’t post pictures of you two outright.

However, he will post sneaky hand holding pictures where you can’t see either of your faces.

In interviews, he’ll say that he’s taken, but won’t mention who you are directly unless you want him too.

Senku can get pretty rowdy on stage (especially since Ryusui often instigates it), strictly for the purpose of riling up his fans (and you)

He’ll ask you afterwards if he was successful, and if he was, he’ll tease you about it.

Senku also values your private time together, so he’ll definitely take the time to be more vulnerable and affectionate with you after concerts.

He’ll sing softly to you while you drift off to sleep, but if you ask him about it he will completely deny it.

Also, he will bring you on tour with him~

Ryusui Nanami

Ryusui joined the band as soon as Chrome proposed the idea.

“I want it all!” Was his primary reasoning

The fame, the spotlight, and the fans, he wanted all of it.

He provides most “fan-service” in the group, usually including Senku or Chrome in his antics.

He’s the band member that knows that everyone thinks he’s got, and will flaunt it.

However, he make sure to reassure that he only has eyes for you.

You are his treasure, the one thing he desires more than what the band or fame can give him.

Ryusui writes most of the band’s songs alongside Chrome and Gen. Most of them are about you in some way

He’ll serenade you when he finishes a song, and insists that you’re with him while he’s writing

Like Senku, Ryusui brings you everywhere with him.

He’ll bring you to photo shoots, interviews, rehearsals, and on tour.

If you let him, he will 100% show you off.

He’ll bring you up on stage and flirt with you while he performs.

He’ll ask to include you in his photoshoots, and will bring you up at every opportunity in interview.

He’ll post cute date photos of you on his social media too!

He knows that his lifestyle can get overwhelming and tiring, so he makes sure that he’s always there for you.

He’ll often sing you to sleep after a long day, pulling you closer to him as he wonders how he got so lucky to have you in his life.

Chrome

Chrome is the front man of the group, the leader.

The band was his idea, and he put his blood, sweat and tears into it.

He started all of the social media pages, wrote all of their early songs, coordinated all of their outfits, etc.

This band is his baby!

You were the first person he told when the band finally got a contract with a record label.

You also helped him convince (bribe) Senku to join.

Almost all of his songs are dedicated to you

If you can play an instrument, he will 100% ask you to play it in his songs.

He’ll write you cheesy love songs that he will perform on stage if you let him.

He absolutely has to kiss you in some way before performing!

Whether it’s on your hand, cheek, lips, forehead, etc. he must kiss some part of you. It’s his good luck charm

Will sing to you if he spots you in the crowd.

When he does it feels like he’s only performing to you, and the rest of the crowd is just background noise.

He’ll schedule cute lunch dates with you while you’re on tour to local restaurants.

He will absolutely go sightseeing with you in different cities during his downtime!

He will mention you in interview and on social media, but only if you’re comfortable with it.

Chrome typically plays a guitar on stage, which has your lipstick print cheekily placed on it

He will take every opportunity after concerts to snuggle you and decompress, asking if you enjoyed the show (please praise this boy) and humming his songs quietly as you both drift off to sleep.

Gen Asagiri

Gen is the sly and suave member of the group

He only really joined because it was a new way to use his skills as a mentalist

He’s similar to Ryusui in that he knows he’s attractive and uses that to rile up his fans

He likes to have this mysterious air to him, so no one really knows what he’s thinking.

However, this facade crumbles when he’s around you

If he brings you along to band rehearsals or events, he gets very clingy.

He wants to make sure everyone knows that you’re his.

He will tease you with his antics, especially on stage.

He’ll find you in the crowd and smirk as he tries to make you blush.

He will tease you about it afterwards too, just because he knows he can.

He has you preview all of the songs he writes, and he tries to sneak in small details that only you could recognize in them.

If you travel with him on your, he will take you everywhere with him.

If you end up staying home, he’ll send you postcards and love letters describing just how much he misses you.

I like to think that he does a small “magic” segment at shows, and he will make any excuse he can to use you as his assistant.

After shows, he’ll take the time to relax with you.

This can be cuddling, but most of the time he’ll draw a bath in the hotel room for the both of you to enjoy.

He’ll lazily wash your scalp and talk about the highs and lows of the day.

Once your both washed up, he’ll lead you towards the bed, holding you close as you fall asleep.

He will sing you to sleep if you ask him to!

Ukyo Saionji

Ukyo is the “mother hen” of the group.

He is quite a bit older than the rest of the boys, and feels a sense of responsibility for the group

He helps the rest of the band keep their heads on straight during stressful times, and is often the voice of reason.

That being said, he needs someone that will help him relax.

That’s where you come in!

Ukyo will often entrust certain tasks to you, like helping him make sure the band is on schedule, ensuring they’re all in the right costume, etc.

Your presence on tour is basically a requirement, rather than a suggestion.

Ukyo needs you there in order to tolerate the other members antics lol

Since you’re often backstage during shows instead of the crowd, Ukyo will make quick glances towards the backstage area

He’ll do it just to let you know that he’s singing to you.

Ukyo is much more private about your relationship in regards to how much the public knows.

He’s mentioned once or twice that he’s in a relationship in interviews, but that’s pretty much it.

He values your privacy, and wants to keep you to himself.

Ukyo doesn’t write much, but he does mix and produce songs for the band.

He asks you to listen to them, and asks if there should be any changes.

Oftentimes you hear all of the band’s songs before anyone else does.

Ukyo cherishes that process though, it’s one of the few ways he can really share his craft with you.

After concerts, Ukyo is absolutely exhausted, and he looks to you for comfort.

He’ll lay on top of you as you run your fingers through his hair, grumbling about how his ears are still ringing from performing.

This time with you allows his nerves to settle, and allows his mind to prepare to do it all over again in the morning

a/n: this is a repost from my main blog (@/hikari-writes) so yes this writing is old + bad, i just moved them here w/o editing bc im lazy and wants to keep reminding myself how bad my writing used to be <3 this was set before Tsukasa empire was defeated !!

Ukyo stands in front of Hyoga, his face showing his nervousness and small beads of sweats could be seen trickling down his face.

“Why did you call me out here?”

Ukyo asks, trying to keep his voice as calm as possible. He didn’t want to let Hyoga knew he’s anxious that they are meeting alone and a bit farther than their headquarters. If, in the worst case scenario, he was attacked, it’d be hard to escape. Although he don’t find any reason why Hyoga would attack him now.

“…Nothing much.”

Hyoga replies curtly and as soon as he did, Ukyo’s ears caught a series of footsteps heading towards them.

The footsteps he knows all too well.

Even though his ears could catch on sounds from a pretty far distance, he knows that her way of walking has always been so insanely fast. So although he knew beforehand that she’s coming, he still couldn’t take any action before she reached their place.

“Hey, Hyoga-san….why did you call me out here?”

Y/N finally reaches their place, her face showing pure confusion as she saw Ukyo and Hyoga facing each other.

“Y/N….”

Ukyo mumbles her name, his face turns pale all of the sudden. He doesn’t seem to be getting any good vibes from this situation. Out of all people, Hyoga called out Y/N, Ukyo’s no. 1 weakness, his girlfriend, here at this quiet place. It seems like Hyoga planned it so that she came right when Ukyo and Hyoga’s facing each other.

“Ukyo.”

Hyoga ignores Y/N’s presence and continue facing Ukyo.

“I’d like for you to join force with me to end Tsukasa’s life.”

Ukyo and Y/N went dead silent at that one sentence. For the first time ever, Ukyo couldn’t believe his own ears. Y/N’s legs started trembling at Hyoga’s sudden proposal. Did those words just came out of him? Even though Tsukasa trusted him, he wishes to kill him?

Ukyo was quick to regain his composure. He then looks straight at Hyoga’s face.

“And if I don’t want to?”

Hyoga stays silent at Ukyo’s reply. He then takes off his mask and in a blink of an eye, grabs Y/N’s arm and pull her face closer to him.

Y/N could barely understand the situation that flashes right before her eyes and her reflexes are too slow compared to Hyoga for her to even turn her face or push Hyoga away. But she does understand one thing. The sight of Hyoga’s face nearing hers makes her eyes widen in horror. Just the thought of other people aside Ukyo having their lips on hers is just… unbearable.

Just as their lips about to touch, Y/N was snatched away from Hyoga’s grip and a knife was pointed at his throat.

“Well, well…so even the peace-loving Ukyo can point a knife at someone’s throat when his Y/N is about to fall on other’s hands, huh?”

Ukyo hold Y/N tightly with one hand and his other hand kept the knife close to Hyoga’s throat. His face isn’t showing his usual calm exterior. Instead, he was like a completely different person. His face turns gloomy and his eyes are looking at Hyoga dangerously.

“I thought you knew that you can’t object an offer from me. Oh well, now the deal has been made. There’s no going back.”

Hyoga calmly said as he pulls up his mask back and walks away, leaving the two of them alone.

Y/N is still clinging to Ukyo tightly, her whole body trembling. Ukyo who finally regains back his composure, try to reassure Y/N by embracing her small body. It’s almost as if he’s doing it to reassure himself. As if she could disappear at any moment and he’s clinging to her so desperately.

“Ukyo….I’m okay now.”

Y/N softly whispers at him. Ukyo reluctantly lets her go, and as soon as he did, her lips met his and they both melt into a sweet, loving kiss.

“I could barely understand what happened just now…Are you going to be okay, Ukyo?”

While they walk back to the headquarters, holding hands, Y/N asks a question that’s been on her mind since just now.

“….I’ll be fine. Completely fine. So don’t worry. What you should be worrying about is yourself. His target is you if he found anything suspicious at me. And that’s the only thing I don’t want to happen.”

Ukyo strokes Y/N’s head reassuringly and give a peck on her forehead.

“I really was afraid just now, you know? I wouldn’t have known what to do if he had kissed me.”

As soon as she mentions that, Ukyo’s face turns gloomier and his glares turns so scary it could kill a newborn fawn.

“If that’s the case, I’ll just kiss you two, no, three times than he did.”

Y/N’s ears turn red at his exclamation and she just smiles lovingly at him.

“I would love that.”

“For tonight, Y/N, sleep with me. I don’t want Hyoga to attack you while you’re alone. Stay by my side.”

Ukyo turns to her and said this seriously. Y/N quietly nod at him and give him a kiss on the cheek.

“Even if you don’t ask for it, I’ll always stay by your side forever and ever.”

Ukyo’s heart warms up at her loving confession and squeezes her hand.

“It’s okay…” He thought to himself. “Tomorrow’s gonna be the day this empire meets its downfall. Senku’s plan gonna work. Until then, I will protect Y/N even if I have to dirty my own hand. I may be a coward, but for her, I will…”

“Ukyo? What’s wrong?”

Y/N peers at Ukyo who was silent for a moment, worried of his sudden silence. He also seems to be glaring…which she just shrugs it off as her imagination.

Ukyo snaps out of his train of thoughts and stare a while at Y/N’s face before softening his expression and genuinely smile at her.

“It’s nothing. I was just thinking of how much I love you .”

He says that so smoothly, making Y/N blush a bit.

“That’s right… I love you so much, I’m willing to change myself.”

Ukyo thought that as his smile turns into a cold one.

Time in Our Lives

Saijoni Ukyo x Reader

Quote: “Fall in love with the sound of someone’s voice.”

Saionji Ukyo had fallen in love exactly 2 times in his life.

Sato Mika had been his highschool sweetheart. A clever girl with a smile that could light up a room. She had been his first everything. His first love, his first kiss, his first and his first heartbreak.

It hadn’t been a breakup stirred by jealousy or agony, just one where two individuals had entered into a relationship and had emerged as two different people. A relationship that had become stagnant when both individuals were looking to grow. It wasn’t something unexpected but it still left Ukyo devastated.

It was hard to forget about someone who had been a major part of his life.

Then there was Jane Anderson. She was about four years older than him at the time and had helped introduce him to the new world he suddenly found himself in. Ukyo had stumbled into her acquaintance while overseas and the two of them had fallen into a fleeting relationship. Truthfully it was more of a fling than a full blown out relationship, especially knowing that the two of them had entered into that relationship knowing that it would never last long.

Though in that fleeting time she had managed to steal a part of his heart forever.

There was a strange sort of comfort that came with being someone’s anchor in a strange and unfamiliar world. It was a similar comfort that Ukyo felt around you.

In this strange and unfamiliar world, there was you.

Your voice is the first thing Ukyo remembers when awakening in the New World. You had been explaining the properties behind the chemical compound that released people from their stoney prisons. Ukyo, though, didn’t care all too much about that. He might have fallen asleep in a familiar Japan but he had awakened in a very, very different one.

But even the unfamiliarity of his situation wasn’t what had captured his immediate attention. It was purely the sound of your voice. You were confident in explaining something that was far beyond Ukyo’s groggy understanding. Your voice wasn’t high pitched enough to be considered annoying but it was neither low enough to be mistaken for a boy’s. To him, it was near perfect.

In the spur of events, Ukyo hadn’t even been able to learn your name.

You had disappeared as soon as Ukyo had regained his bearings in the New World.

Ukyo hears you before he sees you during his second meeting with you.

You’re singing a familiar song. Something contemporary and in english. It seems upbeat enough and gets Ukyo thinking about all the things that have disappeared from this world. From the wonderful melodies written in the early 1900s to the new tunes from the 2000s. So much is left purely to the memories of forgotten individuals.

Not that everything about this new world is horrible though. There are plenty of new things that Ukyo likes. He enjoys the silence. Not the lonely kind of silence that seeps into one’s mind at their worst moments, but the simple silence that one looks for when they need to think.

Ukyo also enjoys the singing of the birds. Their melodies are so much more playful without the pollution of man made noises. Ukyo really feels as though he has time to be himself and to just be with himself and nature in this unfamiliar world.

Perhaps, though, the best thing about this New World is the people he has gotten to meet.

Not all of the people that have been awarded the privilege of being revived are the most sociable and intelligent, but they are all nice enough. It helps that they respect Ukyo’s abilities. But there are a few special individuals like you. Certain people that he wouldn’t have gotten to meet if the world had continued moving onwards as it had before.

There are people like you, whose voices get drowned out by louder (and not always smarter) ones.

Then though, as Ukyo walked along the babbling river, Ukyo could make out the sound of your gentle singing voice. You aren’t exactly the best singer Ukyo has ever listened to, but your singing voice is strangely something that Ukyo doesn't want to stop listening to.

You alter melodies from how Ukyo remembers them and sometimes attempt to harmonize despite no one singing the main melody. It’s endearing.

“I’m nothing special~” you sing “in fact I’m a bit of a bore~” It echoes into the night as you wander alongside the babbling river. Your arms are held out to either side as you balance on unstable rocks upon the shore.

Ukyo watches with curiosity and humor as you continue onwards. You don’t seem to have the best balance but challenge gravity regardless. Ukyo finds you brave if not a little reckless.

You eventually do fall into the river.

A small scream escapes your lips as your skin comes in contact with the cold water but you are quick to silence yourself. Before Ukyo can come rushing to save you he hears your laughter.

Your laughter is soft and light. Something that floats in the air and seems to hover around Ukyo. He finds it fluffy and warm. Something that he could surround himself with for days.

When you spot Ukyo your face heats up a bright red colour. You flash him a sheepish smile that he has to look away from in fear of you seeing his own bright red face. He holds his hand out to you, as any gentleman would never leave a lovely lady to get up on her own, and smiles when your cold and wet hand comes in contact with his own.

“Hey, you’re Ukyo right?” You asked.

Ukyo could only nod. He likes the way you say his name. He likes that you remembered him. He likes how you sound when trying to act nonchalant around him. He likes the way you say his name.

You smiled, “I’m (Y/n).”

Ukyo can barely manage a “I know,” in response.

The two of you walk in silence as you make your way back to the camp. Ukyo finds it cute how you try to hide your shivering so he pretends not to notice. You’re obviously acting tough for a reason.

Ukyo, on the other hand, attempts to find various things for you and him to talk about on the way back. You’re giving back one word answers but Ukyo isn’t too distraught. He figures that you’re likely embarrassed that he caught you in the aftermath of a mess from something you shouldn’t have been doing.

The next time you and Ukyo meet you are much happier.

You’re dry, thankfully, and clear minded. You are the first to approach him as you apologise about the fiasco from your last meeting. Ukyo finds it cute how you seem to speak slightly faster than the average person. It’s cute.

As the two of you continue talking Ukyo finds himself at a loss for words.

You move your hands slightly as you get into explaining topics that you find fascinating. You’re easily excited and go into depth about things you care about. And what else can Ukyo do but listen and follow you? Your voice is just mesmerising.

“What are you thinking about, Ukyo?” You ask, swinging upside down from a tree branch.

Ukyo had been propped up against the trunk of a tree while fiddling with the creation of his arrows. He’s momentarily surprised that he hadn’t heard you climb the tree and make it to the branch, but he supposes you have gotten better at sneaking and he had been rather deep in thought. Ukyo supposes that he will need to keep a better eye on things from now on. While you may not have had any bad intentions he couldn’t be certain about everyone else.

“About how loud your breathing is.” teases Ukyo.

You pout, “come on, you’ve got to admit that I did a pretty good job surprising you.”

“And how can you prove that?”

“Because of the slight raise in your eyebrows when I appeared.”

“What?”

You twirl around the branch and land safely in front of Ukyo before leaning in towards him suddenly, “when you’re surprised you raise your left eyebrow ever so slightly. Just like right now.”

“And why would I be surprised right now?”

“Because you struggle when in close proximity with people of the opposite gender.” you grin knowingly, “but specifically, you tend to freeze up around me.”

Ukyo cleared his throat and looked away, hoping to hide the reddening of his cheeks, “what makes you say that?”

“I think you already know the answer to that~”

And he does.

“So!” You take a seat beside him, just close enough for your arm to graze his own when either of you move, “are you ever going to teach me how to shoot a bow?”

“Maybe after you learn to stabilize yourself properly.” replies Ukyo.

“I guess you have a valid point. But it’s not as if I have the worst balance ever.”

“Not the worst doesn't exactly mean good enough.”

“Yeah, I guess not.” you ponder for a brief moment before looking up towards the branches, “what else are you doing today? Aside from sitting down and contemplating life, of course?”

“First of all,” Ukyo feels a small smile form at the corner of his lips as he watches your gaze narrow in on his own, “there is never enough time to contemplate life, and secondly yes. I have to do a border patrol later today. Tsukasa is ever restless about making sure that everyone is ready in case something happens.”

“Want company?”

Yes. “No, that’s alright. Don’t you have to help Yuzuriha with something later today anyways?”

You shrug, “I suppose, but I can also do it while helping you.”

“Why?” Ukyo raises a brow teasingly, “are you looking to spend more time with me?”

“Of course!” You smile. Ukyo hates how easy it is for you to say things like that all the time. You can just openly smile after admitting something embarrassing yet tiptoeing around exactly what everyone else wants to hear. You always seem to evade questions at just the right moment.

The boy once again has to turn away from you.

His pride will be utterly shattered if you happen to catch another one of his embarrassing bashful looks.

You don’t push him farther than he wants to go. You never do and that’s what he likes about you. You always know exactly how far before retreating back; never pushing someone out of their comfort zone.

When Ukyo finally manages to peek at you he sees that your head is leaned back against the tree. There’s a nest of birds up there and your attention seems to be fully captured.

Despite noticing a slight raise in Ukyo’s brow when he’s surprised you suddenly fail to notice his longing gaze. Instead you begin to hum. It’s quiet and likely something done absent mindedly as your gaze stays fixed on the bird’s nest. Ukyo notes that it’s the same song that you had been singing when he had watched you fall into the river.

There are actually three distinct songs that Ukyo has identified.

First, there was that slow song with a strange beat. Something memorable but nothing that Ukyo could pin. It was always a melody that would pop up when you had hung around the Mentalist of this New World. There was almost a strange sort of meleconoly that followed the song along with the need for an answer to a question that Ukyo didn’t even know.

Then, there was ‘Taunt’. Ukyo had overheard you singing the strange lyrics while throwing things into a bag. You had explained the origins of the song, which happened to be a small English band, and the strange origin behind it. It was the song that always seemed to recurred after you finished a patrol with Tsukasa’s other unspoken commander.

And finally, there was this one. The slowest of the three melodies and the one reserved strictly for him. It was the one you hummed and mumbled after and during small meetings like this one. It was the one that echoed in Ukyo’s mind after conversations with you. It was the one that got Ukyo’s blood pumping and it was the one that made him forget about the craziness of this strange world he was in.

There were plenty of other melodies you hummed and tunes you made up, but these three were constant and recurring in the time that Ukyo has spent with and around you. These were the songs that other people (Ukyo included) hummed in and out of camp. Songs that not many people knew but had embedded into their memories.

It seemed that Ukyo wasn’t the only person unable to forget your melodies.

They weren’t the kind that immediately caught the attention of people around you but they were ones that were hummed at just the right frequency. A frequency that tuned into the subconscious minds of various individuals.

Quite the ear-bug you were.

Ukyo heard his own voice ask “what song is that?” before actually realising what he was asking.

“Thank you for the music~” you replied, before immediately going back to humming.

Ukyo swallowed, “it’s a very… nice song!”

“Would you like to learn it with me?”

“No, that’s alright. I actually prefer to just listen to you.” Ukyo smiled, “is it another english song?”

You nodded, “it’s from an english musical.”

“So what happens in the musical?”

“Well, it begins with a mother and daughter who have lived their lives with just the two of them. They both struggle to navigate the life that they have ended up in and are suddenly facing a crossroad. Well, a fork in the path with three very different endings.” you flash Ukyo a sheepish look, “sorry. Am I talking your ear off?”

Ukyo shakes his head, “it actually sounds rather interesting.”

“How about you tell me something?” you ask, “I feel as though it’s always me talking. Why don’t you tell me something about yourself for once?”

“Oh. Well, what would you want to know? I feel like there isn’t much that’s interesting about me. Especially where there are such amazing people here.”

You leaned forward with a soft look in your eyes, “I didn’t know navy guys with really good hearing and are brilliant at archery were common. Would you mind pointing me to the most interesting one?”

“Now I just sound foolish when you say it that way.”

“Sorry. I don’t mean to invalidate you, I just wanted you to see that you’re not boring.”

“I do feel pretty normal most of the time though.” Ukyo sighed, “I just feel so… average. Especially these days.”

“And what’s wrong with being normal?”

“Nothing I guess.”

“Then why do you sound so bummed out?”

“Because, what if you… don’t like normal guys?”

“Then I guess that would make me a pretty shallow person. After all, I think I’m fairly normal as well.”

Ukyo raised a brow.

“I have a ‘just below average’ balance. I don’t have many fighting skills. My singing is, at best, average. I’m average build for most girls and I’m not particularly intelligent at any particular subject. There are no skills I excel at, unlike you.”

“Wow. I guess you are pretty normal, huh?”

You gave a light flick to the side of Ukyo’s head, “the point I’m making is, that there’s no shame in being boring. There are millions, well not anymore, but there are tons of other people. You can’t always expect to be the best at something. So why so much emphasis on being special?”

And that was when Ukyo knew.

Saionji Ukyo had fallen in love exactly 3 times in his life.

Sato Mika had been his highschool sweetheart. His first love, his first kiss, his first and his first heartbreak.

Then there was Jane Anderson. A woman about four years older than him who had helped introduce him to the new world he suddenly found himself in. A fleeting love that would ever linger in a part of his heart.

And now, there was you. (L/n) (Y/n).

Ukyo had never been one for words. In fact, he considered himself a man of action. He showed affection through action and was moved through actions that others have done. But you, with your alluring voice, trapped him in an unfamiliar world.

You and your bright laughter and vibrant humming, your soft spoken phrases and social intelligence, had lured him in. But it was your strange words of wisdom that had gotten him to realise that he had fallen in love.

Fall in love because of someone’s voice.

Ryusui: New America City Arc

“You’re staying here.” Ryusui demands you. You scowl. “Why?? I can help you sail the ship! I can keep Watch! There’s so many things I can do just let me come with y-“ This is the first time you’ve ever seen Ryusui so serious. Sure he was always focused and determined on something, but he never had such a solemn face. “(Y/n)…” he says as he drags you by the arm, leading you to the Perseus. “Please Ryusui…let me come with you.” “No…” This is when you lost it. “Why Ryusui?! This isn’t fair. We’ve been through everything together and now-“ “I want you to be safe ok?!!” Ryusui would never raise his voice at you. Ryusui’s voice has never trembled before. Ryusui’s eyes have never been filled with tears about to spill over. Ryusui has never desired something more in his whole life. “S-Stanley is going to come after us. He’s not gonna just slap our wrists and move on. No… he’s gonna come at us guns drawn and take every single one of us until he’s satisfied…” His eyes lock onto yours, desperation in them. “I can’t let you be put in that kind of danger. You have to be safe, I have to KNOW you have to be safe…” The water starts to fall out of his eyes. “We don’t have time for this, I have to get you to the Perseus before-“ He was shocked at the sudden soft lips onto his and the small hands that touched his face. He wraps his muscular arms around your waist and pull you closer to his body. As your lips slowly part, you softly smile at him. “Oh Ryusui, I’m never going to be safe unless I’m with you…” He’s stunned, confused on what you mean. “Remember, before the whole petrification, when you were at my place during a thunderstorm. The one that was on the news for weeks?” He nods. “I was doing the laundry, and you were building one of your model ships. I was almost done with the towels when the lights went out. Of course I started panicking, I’ve never not been scared of blackouts.” You chuckle, thinking of the memory. “I just sat on the couch, trembling, when I feel my favorite blanket wrapped around me.” Your mind travels back to that very day. You both remember every little detail from the cologne Ryusui was wearing to the conversations the both of you had to distract you. “As soon as you wrapped me in your arms, I felt a weight being lifted off my chest. I wasn’t afraid anymore, and it’s all because of you.” He reaches his hand out, tangling it in a few strands of your hair. “Please my love, if you want me to be safe then let me come with you…” He pauses, contemplating on what to do. “Fine, but let’s hurry.”

Kohaku: After Perseus is finished

The Perseus was finally done. Everyone celebrated for only a short while since Ryusui began calling names. One after the other, Ryusui calls name after name. “To help with ship maintenance, (y/n)!” You’re shocked at first that the Kingdom of Science wants you on their journey, but you except the offer with a small nod and walk onto the ship. Everyone greets you and welcomes you on board, well tried to. Kohaku snatched you up immediately, basically throwing you in the air because of how excited you are that you’re coming. “Thank goodness you’re here (y/n)! I thought I would have to separate from you!” You can’t help but blush and giggle at her reaction. After everyone boards and Ginro does his swimming to the boat thing you all head out to Treasure Island.

Soon night falls and you and Kohaku are the first on night watch. You both stand hand and hand as you lean on the sides of Perseus. The smell of the ocean sets the romantic mood as the stars provide some light for the both of you. Kohaku rests her head on your shoulder, letting out a small sigh. “I’m really happy you’re here (y/n), really. To be completely honest I thought you would stay behind. You’ve never really be the one to venture out.” You let out a laugh. “Well, you could say I wanted to stay close to a certain someone.” This made Kohaku giggle. “Besides, I was curious. You laugh to yourself. “Plus, I don’t have to worry about being mauled by a bear or something, I have Ishigami Village’s strongest warrior with me, I never have to worry with you around Kohaku!” Kohaku laughs at this, and if you’d look hard enough then you could notice the small blush forming on her face. “Thanks (y/n), I’m glad I can always count on you…” She takes a small step towards you before sharing a delicate kiss.

Ukyo: Stone Wars

You were sitting outside of Tsukasa’s cave, waiting for the meeting between Tsukasa, Hyoga, and Ukyo to end. As you were about done picking the random flowers that found their way through the rock, you see Hyoga angrily stomp pass you. You look in the cave as Tsukasa and Ukyo walk out. “(Y/n).” Tsukasa says as he nods at you, walking to a quiet place to think. Ukyo sighs as he walks over to you, grabbing both your hands and kissing them. “Tough meeting?” You whisper. He nods. “Let’s get you some food then you can tell me all about it yeah?” “I’d love that.” He smiles as you both walk hand and hand to your shared hut.

Night eventually falls as you and Ukyo cuddled close together for warmth. “What’s on your mind Ukyo? You’ve been acting strange ever since your meeting with Tsukasa and Hyoga.” Ukyo barries his face in your neck, breathing softly. “Hyoga was telling Tsukasa that we should only revive the strongest while Tsukasa believes only the young should survive.” He buries his head deeper, taking in your scent. You rub his ear, making his face heat up. “And how do you feel about that? Do you agree with letting a few live and the rest die?” You already knew the answer, but you had to hear it from his mouth. Ukyo holds you tighter when you feel your neck become wet with his tears. “N-no one should die, w-why do we have to d-decide who lives or dies? It’s not right!” You cup his face and wipe his tears. “That’s not all you want to tell me, is it?” He stares up at you, hesitant. He touches your hand and kisses it. “I found a phone.” A phone? In the stone world? How? “On the other side was the Kingdom of science…” Yes, Tsukasa’s current enemy. “Their leader, Senku, said if I could help them, they’ll prevent anymore bloodshed and stop the destruction of the statues…” Hes scared to tell you more, but he holds you tighter. “What else Ukyo?” “I cant, the more you know, the more likely Tsukasa could harm you. I have to keep you safe..!” You grab his face making him look at you. “Listen to me, I’m here with you. No matter what we face we’ll do it together. And as for my safety, I know that I’m safe when I’m with you!” This causes Ukyo’s tears to fall out again. He looks down and takes a breath. “I agreed. I dont want anyone else to die…” You squeeze his hand and kiss his hand. “Then no one else will. We’ll make sure if it. Together…”
