We can't celebrate our culture this Black History Month without celebrating our illustrious HBCU's! This set is an override of several Discover University objects to help fully immerse your sims into HBCU life.

This set was fully inspired by AlexisArielGaming's University Text Replacement mod. Essentially, this was meant as an add-on to this mod. While this set will work without it- you NEED that mod!

- Brands ver: In this version the green, blue and yellow bottles will be replaced by Heineken beer, Bartenura Moscato wine and Budweiser beer. For Simmers who prefer a more realistic game :)

- EA inspired ver: I remade the tree EA bottles, but in an alpha version. The texts are writen in Simlish :)

* Bar Items replaced: The tree drink bottles, the water bottle, the cocktail shaker, the swizzle stick, the lighter, the limes, the ice cubes, the cleaning sponge.

* As you may know, Sims use these same bottles while cooking. But this download will only replace the items at the bar. I'll be posting more specific items for the kitchen soon :)

* I also decided to create a separate replacement version for the bar cleaning sponge. This way, if you are using the kitchen sponge override, they will be separate versions (one will not affect the other).

"PlumTime" Video Chat Photoshop Template (Patreon FREE)

Since Sims can make video calls now, I thought it'd be useful to have a "PlumTime" Photoshop template for storytelling purposes. I desperately needed something like this for some of my video call scenes in my Sims story. I wanted to show the other Sim's face.

I hope you'll find it useful for your stories, too!

HOW TO USE

Open in Photoshop

Replace text with your Sim's name

Replace empty Sim picture/video layers with pics of your Sims. I recommend using a clipping mask for a clean look.

Save and paste onto any of your other screenshots or use alone!

OTHER INFO

Layers labeled DON'T TOUCH can still be edited if you like. They just don't need to be edited.

Layers are organized in folders to hopefully make it easier to find what you need.

Hello! Would you consider reposting the TS3 Medieval Replacement Careers mod? I understand that you're focusing on TS4, but the old link is broken and that mod would add so much immersion in my medieval TS3 if you were to share it again. Thank you for reading this!

Sighs. I had a PC suddenly die on me in 2016, and almost all my old S2/S3 stuff was lost. Now I have everything in the cloud, but back then.. I will look again and see if I can find it somewhere.

Also, there was a problem with the replacement of STBL introduced with some EP if I remember (very foggy memory) and it stopped working for me, sadly. But I will check.

I found 2 files, from 2009... as I said, no idea if they still work. They are simple text replacement mods, and if someone wants to adopt these poor orphans and update them to work for Sims 3 again, I give my loving consent.

TS4 Fnaf legacy challenge

I’m a big fan of the sims as well as FNAF and I do love legacy challenges so I decided to make one of my own, even though it is a bit strange to have a legacy when pretty much everyone is possessed by a dead child ( but let’s ignore that fact, let’s just pretend their living live inspired by the animatronics so it isn’t THAT weird)

Also it’s roughly based on the cannon, very roughly 

It is Base game compatible though I mention somethings that can be changed by a pack, if my grammar isn't proper in this text I apologize English isn't my first language

I picked the characters I like, it’s not all of the fnaf characters( that would be impossible)

Basic rules:

1. All gens must die on the lot you first choose to live in( meaning they can move out, but need to move back before they die)

2. No cheats that would make it easier ( the only cheat I allow is if a gen calls for twins, cause that’s a bit difficult to achieve)

3. Aging can be at whatever length you like

4. After the first gen you don’t have to do the generations in order 

5. Must complete all goals 

Gen#1- The Puppet

We’re starting with the one that was the first to be killed ( at least in my head it makes sense for her to be the first)

The Puppet is a rather caring animatronic, always there for others, you never turn a friend down and make sure everyone around you is safe and sound

Traits: Music lover, family orientated, loyal ( or proper if you have Snowy Escape)

Aspiration: Friend of the world

Career: Freelance writer then quit and become a stay at home mom 

You have to have 5 good friends that you call and text everyday

You have to marry the first single sim you find

You have to apologize and be friendly to sims even if their mean to you

You have at least 4 kids( if you want to hate yourself have 6)

Master 1 music skill and have the other two above five( and master singing if you have City living)

If you have seasons go all in on Halloween, if you don’t have seasons decorate house in a spooky way as much as you can

Gen#2- Freddy Fazbear

You grew up surrounded by people and love the attention, you love being by other people and they love you too, sometimes a bit too much. You’re funny and friendly personality makes everyone smile

Traits: Goofball, glutton, perfectionist(or self absorbed if you have GF)

Aspiration: Jokestar

Career: Entertainer( comedy branch)

Have at least 7 friends go to a club with them every weekend

Pizza, order it at least every other week

Have l.10 in comedy and charisma

Engage to a sim with at least one positive trait(outgoing etc…)

Have 2 affairs after you have your first child ( if you have a male sim then affair is meant to be at the same time) while with your partner (your partner can’t find out about it)

Have children with said affairs if your sim is a male they can’t interact with the kids, if your sim is a female they have to raise the kids but not have a good relationship (You love your firstborn only)

If you have get together make a club ‘band’

Gen#3- Chica the chicken

Your parent raised you to love food, you put food over anything else though you’ll eat anything you have your limits, you love animals and would never harm them

Traits: Loves outdoors, Vegetarian and slob( you can replace loves the outdoors with animal enthusiast if you have Cottage living)

Aspiration: Master Chef

Career: Culinary ( or open a restaurant if you have the pack)

Master cooking and gourmet cooking,(or baking if you have get to work)

Don’t clean unless a sim does it automatically

Have one child only, not by love by a random ‘hook-up’, don’t talk to the baby daddy ever 

If you have any pack that has animals in it you must have at least one of each, if you don’t have a pack with animals then catch fish and put one in every room, including in front of the house

Decorate the house with animal themed items

Gen#4- Foxy the pirate 

The previous gen was obsessed with food, you on the other hand love staying fit, healthy food and exercise, also brawling with the neighbors never hurt anyone

Traits: Hot headed, active , self assured( or high achiever if you have snowy escape)

Aspiration: Bodybuilder

Career: Athlete , either branch 

Work out everyday

Max out athleticism

Have more enemies then friends

Have two kids ,prefer the one that isn’t the next gen

Do at least a half of a collection of your choice

Gen#5- Bonnie the Bunny

You were always shadowed by your sibling, they were the favorite and you weren’t you were sick of being left out so you decided to move away and live out your dream

Traits: romantic, musical lover, ambitious

Aspiration: musical genius 

Career: Entertainer, musical branch

Marry and remarry your highschool sweetheart

Have a long-term engagement before you get back to your sweetheart

‘Run away’ as a teen either to the city (if you have city living) or to an empty lot which you will give two lot challenges

Have a negative relationship with your sibling, fix it when you’re both adults

Have two children with your lover before the divorce, one during your engagement , and adopt one after you remarry

Master guitar and violin skill

Grow a flower in your bedroom

Gen#6- Golden Freddy

You grew up surrounded by so many people, such caring people, but all you want is to be left alone. Often your left confused with live being filled with so many possibilities

Traits: Loner, erratic, gloomy(or paranoid if you have strangeville)

Aspiration: Do at least half of all the creative aspiration(writing, painting….)

Career: Have 5 random careers before settling on painter

Must be the ‘middle child’ ( the third born)

Master 2 skill and have l.8 in 4 skills

Have good relationship with family, but don’t answer their calls

Don’t talk to strangers , don’t make friends, until young adulthood

don’t go outside your lot when you are a teen

Have penpals

Preferably find a partner with the outgoing or good trait

Have a single child with your partner, but close yourself off 

Die in an accident before being a senior( drowning, burning)

Gen#7- Baby

Your parent was always so closed off, never going outside, staying in… Well all you want is to be outside, clubbing, drinking, talking, making mistakes

Traits: childish, lazy, noncommittal

Aspiration: Serial romantic

Career: None

You’re a leech, only live off your friends and family

Master charisma( singing, if you have city living and dancing if you have get together)and mischief

Don’t ever get a job, don’t attend school when you’re a teen just skip it, and slack off when you are a kid

Date multiple people at once

Have a child with 3 of them, try to be in contact, but no child will live with you

(you can switch to the next generation once you are finished with this one, or they can move in once they are a teen)

Gen#8- Ballora

Truth is your mom barely spend time with you, but you strive to be better, you want to be successful and have a happy family

Traits: Loyal, family oriented, outgoing ( or high maintenance if you have Spa day)

Aspiration: Big happy family( or super parent)

Career: Business( or politics if you have city living)

Marry your bff

Have 3 kids, with a your husband

Your husband must cheat on you, but you stay in said relationship (it’s death do us apart afterall)

Make sure the house is spotless and the fridge is never empty

Master charisma(and parenting, or dancing if you have those packs)

Have excellent relationships with your kids, you bring them everywhere

 have only one friend you talk to, but don’t go to clubs, party places with them (kids aren’t allowed to go to such places so neither will you)

Die peacefully

Hi, your gallery poses addon is a great idea, however would it be possible to replace the existing ones with very neutral ones instead of adding more? Is that something you would consider doing or maybe making a tutorial how you edited the poses?

I didn't edit the poses themselves. I just added some more to the "list" from which the gallery choses from when the picture is randomized.

I don't do pose overrides. If you want pose replacements of the existing ones, I recommend this page to find some really nice ones:

What is with sims 4 creators and making lofts. Like there’s so many lofts. Everyone is building a loft. Why? It’s like the sims 3 sims with those face apps making them uncannily smiling… it’s just everywhere …

Hiii! I miss your asks :3 Sorry for late reply, I had to take a long time to figure out my answer. About sims 4 lots: I don't know about it, I only check ts4 for new stuff that I want to convert 😅 And for ts3 AI edited sims: I think it was a part of a more huge trend, because I've seen pics of real people, that edit their photos with these AI. I don't really feel "uncanny valley" effect actually, I think it looks just tasteless for me. But if people likes AI art, its good for them.

...Longread with my opinion about AI and some personal stuff under the cut, hope this will be interesting to read:

I don't really feel good about generative AI, not only because their devs are unethical in selecting material for training (like using artworks without consent), but also because when I try to use them they become artificial stupidity instead of artificial intelligence. So I'm not afraid of "ai is gonna rule the world" or anything like that. There was some cases when media corporations tried to use AI to replace humans art- and/or text- work, but it came out shitty. So I don't think that in the near future like 95% of "big" media will became AI generated. I hope there was more accessible that type of AI, that can automatize some monotonous and annoying stages of human work (e.g I recently retouched a photos for a friend of mine, and although his skin was in pretty good condition, it took quite a bit of time to clean up various blemishes, with AI it may be way more faster), but there is not that much, and that type of software prices is really insane (also that really annoying that there is little-to-no stuff that you can buy for ever, everything is for subscription now). What worries me most of all is that it will become another bubble that which when it burst will leave a lot of people without work and without money. It bothered me because of my other friend who is studying computer science and she's interested in AI and I wouldn't want that bubble to burst so she doesn't get rich. And this scenario looks more realistic than anything :(

Attraction Concept Refluff

Yes, the acronym is deliberate.

No story posts yet. I’m still playing the first (non-blogging) rotation, and trying to implement a new idea that I���ve been kicking around with my mum lately. Which means I must ramble about that idea!

So, as you may know, I’m aroace and the concepts of attraction, romance and woohoo go right over my head (when they’re not making me squirm or sneeze). That makes matching sims up, and writing posts involving that stuff, very difficult for me. I can’t take it out of my game completely - that practically eliminates two aspirations from gameplay, not to mention making things feel a lot duller on one level even as it makes the game easier on another! My mum suggested I “refluff” what these aspects of the game represent, a concept I can definitely handle as a tabletop gamer. So here I am, looking at what the “romantic” aspects of TS2 are in the most general terms, and working out what else they could be.

First off, my biggest problem: woohoo. If I take it to mean what EA intended it to mean, it grosses me out. However, on-screen, all it is is two sims disappearing under something blurry for a while and boosting their relationship with each other. That tells me that it can represent a private ritual to honour the spirits, or something along those lines. I’ve replaced the text strings in ACR to say “Rite of Seclusion” instead of “Casual Woohoo” and so far I’m preferring that change in terminology. Also, I decided that pregnancy does NOT result from this ritual, but from dreaming spirits drifting away from their bodies.

Moving on to the concept of marriage/commitment, I’m replacing that language too. It’s now pathbonding in the Seeriverse, and committed partners of any sort are pathmates. Here, I’ve actually taken a cue from the TS4 Werewolves pack’s concept of fated mates: pathmates can sometimes be determined by the spirits, and that’s where “attraction” comes in. I’ve also chosen to make nearly all my sims bi according to ACR, since I’d prefer these relationships to grow as much from a strong friendship as from those darn lightning bolts, and I don’t want to force pathbondings outside a sim’s gender preference.

Speaking of which: I’ve also replaced the icons and text for the aroace traits I use. Aro trait is now “Chosen of Sola” - Sola is the Seeriverse’s god of the suns, battle strategy and not being interested in all that pathbonding business. Ace trait has become Self-Mated, representing someone who prefers not to engage in Rites of Seclusion.

Ramble over for now - I’m feeling a whole lot more at ease with my gameplay now though. :)

Running The Sims 4 Folder from an External Drive.

If you are a Mac player like me, you are most likely running out of space or are currently completely out of space.

This is how I moved The Sims 4 (TS4) from my computer to an external hard drive.

Some users are able to drag and drop the Electronic Arts folder to the drive, I however was not.

⛔️ WARNING

Entering incorrect commands into Terminal can have severe consequences both for the stability of your operating system and your data. You should only follow these instructions if you are comfortable using Terminal and have a solid backup of your system.

If anything goes completely wrong you can always wipe and reinstall your macOS through Internet Recovery or bootable installer (advanced option) but you WILL lose all your data.

I am using WD - My Passport Ultra for Mac 2TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive from BestBuy

I highly suggest reading the entire post before making any changes.

NOTE: These instructions move the ENTIRE Electronic Arts (EA) folder to the external drive. Any game you have installed and stores data in the EA folder will need to have the external drive plugged in to be accessed. This includes Sims 3, Sims Medieval, Sims 4, Sims 4 Legacy Edition and any other game folders in your EA folder.

As a good measure, backup your EA folder to a separate external drive or cloud storage.

Plug in your external storage device and check it is properly mounted in Finder or on your Desktop. Tech & Design on YouTube has an easy to follow step by step walkthrough on how to set up your external drive for Mac. ➡️ Here.

Step 1 – Moving the Electronic Arts folder to the external drive:

First - You have to tell your Mac to move the EA folder from the Documents folder to the external drive. To do so, open any text document and copy and paste the following command into the document.

(mv means move and the tilde “~”indicates your home directory) This is purely for editing purposes:

mv ~/Documents/Electronic\ Arts /Volumes/USB/

Replace USB with the name of your external drive. For example, if your external is called EXTERNAL the command would be:

mv ~/Documents/Electronic\ Arts /Volumes/EXTERNAL/

However, if your external is called EXTERNAL DRIVE you have to introduce backslashes before the spaces in the name (like Electronic Arts in the Documents folder):

mv ~/Documents/Electronic\ Arts /Volumes/EXTERNAL\ DRIVE/

To show where the spaces are, a black X in the command below (for visual purposes only):

mvX~/Documents/Electronic\XArtsX/Volumes/EXTERNAL\XDRIVE/

IMPORTANT: Note that the directory file paths are separated with forward slashes / and file and folder names with multiple words are separated with backslashes \ .

If your EA folder is within another folder on the external you must state this clearly in the command. For example, if your EXTERNAL DRIVE has a folder called Game User Data and you would like the Electronic Arts folder to be within this folder the command would look like this:

mv ~/Documents/Electronic\ Arts /Volumes/EXTERNAL\ DRIVE/Game\ User\ Data/

and with the black X denoting the spaces:

mvX~/Documents/Electronic\XArtsX/Volumes/EXTERNAL\XDRIVE/Game\XUser\XData/

Once you are happy with the command, open Terminal and copy and paste it from the text document into the Terminal window so it looks like this but with your own information. If it is highlighted black just press the right arrow on your keyboard to move the cursor to the end of the line:

Hit enter/return to execute the command. Your EA folder should have moved from your Documents folder to your external drive. Open the Documents folder to check and open a second Finder window showing the external drive.

Step 2 – Creating the symlink for the Electronic Arts folder:

Copy the following command into your text document:

ln -s /Volumes/USB/Electronic\ Arts ~/Documents/

replacing USB with your external drive name and paying attention to the forward and back slashes and spaces. If we use the same example as before with the EXTERNAL DRIVE > Game User Data file paths and names this would be the result:

ln -s /Volumes/EXTERNAL\ DRIVE/Game\ User\ Data/Electronic\ Arts ~/Documents/

and with the black X denoting the spaces:

lnX-sX/Volumes/EXTERNAL\XDRIVE/Game\XUser\XData/Electronic\XArtsX~/Documents/

Once you are done with the command, open Terminal and copy and paste it from the text document into the Terminal window so it looks like this but with your own information. If it is highlighted black just press the right arrow on your keyboard to move the cursor to the end of the line:

Hit enter to execute the command. An Electronic Arts folder will appear in your local Documents folder as an alias with a little arrow in the bottom left corner:

The actual Electronic Arts folder is still safe on the external drive (The game is also installed on the external, ignore the app in the image below):

Step 3 – Launch your game:

Launch the game as you would normally. There should be no notice difference, you should be able to pick up where you last saved the game. There may be extended loading, but as a Mac player, we are use to it.

You will also have to change the installation path on Origin, this allows any updates and new packs/ kits you purchase to be downloaded on your external drive.

Sims are more likely give permission to Drink. I am the Master I am the Master grants supernatural control. Command Powers used on Vampire Offspring always succeed. Unlock Vet Supply Quality Unlocks the ability to set the quality of vet supplies. This way you can make the vet supplies more expensive or cheaper. Vet Rush Temporarily increases the number of patients who come to your Clinic. Patient Patients Makes pet owners easier to impress with quick service and less likely to get upset at slow service. Reduce Pet Stress Decreases how quickly pets become stressed during vet procedures. Force the amount of babies your pregnant Sim will have. Changes the weather to Cloudy and Warm and it will show you a beautiful sunlight through the trees.

September 15, 2021 Edit: Version 3 is now out! Please replace any previous versions with MadameRiaTypewriterOTGv3. You cannot have both in your game at the same time!

What’s new in version 3:

Freelance writing career should now be fully functional! My testing abilities were not so great when I first made this mod, and I completely missed how the game checks for objective completion. This should be resolved now.

Basically a re-do of the custom tuning, making it much simpler thanks to @ravasheencc​‘s help

I can't be the only person with an aspiring author Sim that wants to isolate themselves off-the-grid in a cabin and write novels nonstop, write right? (Actually, I believe this is a Secret Simblr Wish over at @maxismatchccworld​, though I’d started working on this before I saw the request)

Colored in @serindipitysims​‘s The Historian Palette because it may have been the obvious choice, but it was also the right choice. (Plus two swatches that I was using while I was testing everything, because I'm partial to multiples of 5).

I'm really, really proud of how this typewriter came out! I edited the mesh from the base game Writer's Lore object, and then I went and re-textured about 90% of the darned thing. I even made a custom specular map for it! Let me know if you feel like it's still too shiny!
