I normally don't do this, but please do not download this CC pack. It not only has some of my default hairs which I explicitly asked people not to reupload, but entire 4t2 packs, clothes, mods and what look like bodyshop installations.

I've seen this before but not at this magnitude. I don't know which version of the hair defaults they nabbed, what mods they loaded...

Trying not to be a hater, but with no credit and potentially harmful concoctions of cc, I'd recommend to find the original sources which was predominantly items on LordCrumps.com, @deedee-sims, @mdpthatsme, @tvickiesims, @applewatersugar, @rascalcurious, etc

Found the culprit. You can all stop looking now.

It was... @fwaysims Object Freedom mod, which is a bit of a blow as that's been making my decorating and landscaping more tolerable. However, manually entering "boolprop snapobjectstogrid false" won't cause me to explode, especially since I have a shortened command (nosnap) in my userstartup.cheat file.

So... I played and took loads of screenshots... then had to restore a backup from before I played and took the screenshots, because all the pets I'd made after taking the backup had come out with split character files. All of them. Not the sims, just the pets.

This means two things: one, back to the backup so it will take longer for me to get the first Kulo Sena update out.

Also, I need to ask: has anyone ever experienced this, and if so, how (if at all) did you resolve it?

Kulo Sena Intros: Caleb's Household

Time to meet the first family! Led by Caleb zan-Ace, this all-male (not counting their three cantankerous dogs) household is a close-knit one at the moment, but with the aftermath of Caleb's sister's death still hanging over them, will they manage to pull through?

Caleb zan-Ace (top left pic) is the eldest of the family at 56 starbands or thereabouts. He is kind-hearted and empathetic to young sims going through a rough time, as he himself has overcome family drama and an elixir addiction. He currently acts as a father figure to his three nephews, with plenty of help from his own brother.

Dill zan-Ace (top right) is Caleb's younger brother, in his late thirties and one-third of a former trio of teen shamans. The last one of that group still living, Dill has matured a lot since then, and is looking to settle down soon - as much to give the boys a maternal figure in their lives as to find love for himself.

Akali zan-Ace (bottom left) is 19, the eldest son of Lark zan-Ace, and the only one who actually remembers his mother. Sometimes he wishes he didn't; she was a ruthless matriarch who didn't particularly value sons. He is betrothed to the headwoman's cousin, Kira mi-Avira, but would rather not go through with it - so far, though, he hasn't managed to get up the courage to tell Uncle Caleb he doesn't like her much. He's been going a bit wild lately, though his uncles are still oblivious to his shenanigans.

Ribuvam zan-Ace (bottom centre) is six bands old. So far, he's been quiet but playful, and very close to his older and younger half-brothers. He is aware that the mother he barely remembers was horrible, but he neither longs for maternal love nor fears it - he just isn't sure what it's like yet.

Lutimave zan-Ace (bottom right) is two bands old, and blissfully unaware of how his birth led to his mother's downfall. He is a very shy toddler who is mostly content to play, learn and start every sentence with "why?"

Kulo Sena Lorepost: Starband of Fate

Hi Simblr! Kulo Sena is playable again! I've been working on some new lore for the "Level 32 Edition" rebuild, and also fighting a nasty, lingering cold. On the bright side, I tend to get my most creative ideas when I'm either ill or asleep, so have a lorepost! There'll probably be a few of those while I get more lots built.

So, let's talk about time rages. Over the years, I've rebuilt about a zillion times due to various game glitches and computer issues. I like to work these things into my game where possible, so I decided that, in the Senaverse, they are time rages - storms of magical energy that can alter the world of Juvash and even its timeline, albeit in a very small region. For reasons still unknown to my sims, time rages have seemingly been following the Nuidya tribe around and wrecking their encampments since their founding mother (Sena Yuleng, a fragment of the Earth Dragon) died. In other words, for eight or so generations.

Last September, one of my external hard drives - the one containing all my extracted sims, backups of my CC and past saves - got corrupted. Thankfully, my mum was able to recover the data, and it's fine now (knock on wood) - but I knew it had to be part of the story, especially since it's taken me since then to figure out what I want to do with the new rebuild. This, of course, manifested in Juvash as a Time Rage of Epic Proportions - one that affected the entire Senaverse and lasted a full starband (year/month equivalent, roughly 120 days.) There you have it - the Starband of Fate, an excuse for me to alter or retcon whatever I darn well please.

The Nuidya sheltered through the time rage and emerged mostly unaffected, though their territory around Lake Lulla was altered, becoming almost tropical (because I want to use the more colourful and varied Castaway separates instead of the identical fur tunics.) Once the first signs that all was well appeared, they made a start on rebuilding. That's where I am now. I have a lot of things I'm excited to play out in the new iteration, and I'll be sharing more loreposts while I build, but for now I'm off to zzzzz.

Quin Levels Up

Today I reach level 32, and I'm planning for a new iteration of Kulo Sena! Which will not get underway today, unless I decide to drop the "no building on my birthday" rule I have, but it is coming.

(P.S. My parents couldn't resist getting me a card that has an owl in a party hat saying "Woo-Hoo!" - I am trying to overcome my aroace squeamishness and found it very amusing.)

So... I don't know if I'll come back to blogging about Kulo Sena. I'm back to playing TS2, but it's the solo-RPG spinoff hood that I won't be sharing pics or gameplay from, where I'm testing out some of my new ideas. And since that's just for me, it's making me rethink whether I want to share my KS gameplay on simblr.

My reasons for stepping away include: less pressure on my worldbuilding, stoytelling and landscaping skills; reconnecting with what I actually want to do with the Senaverse rather than what I think will get me likes; not having to pause and take screenshots every five seconds, then spend ages sorting and editing them; not feeling obliged to protect particular sims from bad ROS because I downloaded them from a simblr friend.

Maybe one day I will come back to blogging. Maybe not. But for now, I'm hanging up my screenshot program and just playing for me. I'll still be around to like and comment, but don't expect any gameplay updates. There may, however, be a few zany worldbuilding posts now and again - I keep thirteen scrapbooks and counting, some dating back to 2011, full of inspirational screenshots and gameplay ideas I've collected, and who knows, maybe my ideas on how to use game mechanics in a different way will be useful for someone.

The Keep and Privacy Concerns

In light of the recent debate about AI scraping of websites for images, we at Plumb Bob Keep would like to publicly state that we, as a site, will never sell anyone's data for advertisement or AI purposes, ever. We also do not use any tracking technology at all. We are committed to our members' privacy.

Having said that, we cannot influence what our current webhost may or may not do. To our knowledge, they are not selling any of our data, but we cannot dictate to them. We are working towards moving the Keep to a new webhost, with more control over our content, but it will take time.

If you are concerned about your pictures being used by AI bots without your permission, there are two programs that are being recommended: Glaze, a defensive program that puts an imperceptible layer over your art, and Nightshade, an offensive program that make the AI unable to identify the images in the work. You can use them together, as well. Both require large computer resources (Glaze more than Nightshade) - one person compared it to running Minecraft - they do not do well with transparency, and they do take time to process the images, but they are what the community has available right now.

I need motivation

I can't take any more setup.

You see, my CC-heavy game and very specific requirements for how I want things to look and feel... they don't make picking the contents of my Downloads folder easy. I hate setup so much - it depresses me, and as someone who has actually lived through ten years of depression, I don't use that term lightly. Setup to me genuinely equals major existential despair and losing the will to live.

That's why I've been putting it off by playing in my solo RPG adventure, which doesn't need me to build lots or resolve mod conflicts or wrangle purple soup. It's also taught me a lot about how I like to play, what I enjoy and what I don't, and what I can actually handle playing out (which is more than I originally thought I could!) But I want Kulo Sena back as a TS2 hood, and that means setup.

And I can't face it, honestly I can't. Help...

My headcanon: there's a custom in some fey-touched parts of the simworld where children are given unflattering names at birth (or adoption) - when the child comes of age, they are given a new, true name.

The custom probably started as a way of discouraging fey spirits from stealing human children, but some fairies have adopted the practice as well, granting adult names when their children prove their worth to the family.

Hi friends! I'm taking a little break from blogging while I work through the aftermath of the care agency drama, which has led to me having some severe emotional meltdowns over the last two weeks. I have a couple of rambly announcements under the cut.

I've been focusing most of my energy on my solo roleplaying, so I'm creating my party of adventurers and several of their friends, relatives and recurring NPCs as TS2 sims, as a light-hearted side hood that's purely for me. Also, to test the ideas I have for Kulo Sena, which I can't face rebuilding until I've played something. (As an aside, I'm so invested in this bunch of characters that I've developed massive pseudocrushes on the leading couple of the party (both of them, or as I like to call them, #Jagdon), one NPC from the published adventure I'm running myself through who was introduced as a minor antagonist but surprised everyone by giving her life to save the adventurers several scenes later (not to mention performing #Jagdon's wedding ceremony at one point in between), and one celestial object from the party's home world.) I also happen to have a major soft spot for Lharryn, my group's gnoll ranger, who was raised to be a mercenary warrior but would much rather settle down with the man of his dreams and craft beautiful stained glass lamps.

I'd also like to say that I'm still going to be hanging around to like and comment on my favourite simblrs, just don't expect any Kulo Sena posts for a few weeks. I still feel quite fragile and my inner demons are cranking up the gender and species dysphoria, which is not helping. I have discovered what I am on the inside though! In my heart, I feel that I'm a little floating wisp of starlight that just happens to have a bearded AFAB humanoid body and a weight problem. I've also worked out that I'm not agender - at least, not all the time. I would say panflux is a more accurate term for how I feel - sometimes agender, sometimes every gender I could possibly have, sometimes none of the above but definitely something, just not a something that a neurotypical human can comprehend, and sometimes more than one of those somethings. When KS does make a comeback, its language will have a term for how I feel in myself: the Nuidya word will be namavinta (literally "carrying a nation within") and the first sim to identify this way will be Luyisula zan-Avira, apprentice shaman, who has been on a similar journey over their life.

And on that note, I'll sign off and go catch some Z's. :)
