1. I can’t send an ask/DM to this blog and I have a question/wcif. This ‘sideblog’ is meant to be a gallery only. You will only find ‘posts’ in the dashboard view, not on the actual blog.

2. How do I navigate the gallery? You can use the arrow buttons to help you. There will be indicators in a white bubble that show whether the lot is Early Access or a Commission. The download links will be updated when it becomes released to the public.

3. In the gallery, it has no download link to houses marked as ‘Commission,’ how do I get those houses? I do not and will not ever post my commissioned houses for public download. They are in the gallery as a portfolio. You may feel free to commission a similar house of your own from me, though!

4. What are the different tiers of your Patreon? Everything is listed here

5. How long is your Early Access period? I release my lots 3 weeks early for Patrons.

6. What is your TOU on publicly released builds? - Please do not claim my builds as your own or reupload. - Feel free to edit my builds to your liking but keep them for personal use only. - Do not use my lots as a base for your own shared builds. - If you'd like me to see you using my lots, tag @cloverbuilds or @catharsim on Tumblr!

1. What is the process like? My process for commissions is as follows:

You send me a direct message on Tumblr and we discuss what you want. This is when you would show me reference images. if you have a blueprint of the house, that’d be outstanding. It makes it a lot easier on me!

I get to work and may ask questions along the way about general opinions on the house, if any problems arise, etc.

I show you a finished product in pictures of the interior and exterior for approval.

Payment transaction via purchase of a Commisioner subscription on my Patreon. You will be charged the day you pledge and then charged the same day each month. You can end your subscription or change to a lower tier before you are charged again. If you’d like to keep your Commissioner access, you are entitled to one build per month!

I send the house to you via SimFileShare

2. What is included in the price for a standard commission? The standard pricing of the Commissioner tier is $12. This is for residential homes up to four bedrooms. If you would like to commission a larger build or a community lot, DM me and we can discuss other payment methods like Paypal.

Do you take commissions for Sims 4? No I don’t sorry. I dont play TS4 enough to be good at building, so I stick with what I know - which is TS3.

Will CC come with the house? I try to use very minimal CC in builds I’ll be sharing with someone else. But the cc I do use will be included in the file because I know how annoying it is to copy and paste links or track it down yourself.

I know there is controversy about this but I don’t have the time to track down every creator’s TOU. Honest to God I’m not trying to make money off other’s creations, I’m just trying to make it easier for people to have access to pretty houses. If someone specifically does not want their stuff included in a folder, feel free to message me and I’ll oblige.

Will your furnish the home for me if I pay extra? All my CC is in .package format and therefore will not transfer with the lot when exported. Tracking down each piece of cc for a fully furnished house is a nightmare even for the most organized person. So sorry, but no.

Are there any rules once I get the build? Yes and no. It’s yours, you paid for it. Feel free to edit it, never use it, burn it down, go nuts. The one thing I ask is please do not reupload it or claim it as your own. I put a lot of time into my builds and I would like credit given where it’s due. Thank you! <3

Spent a big chunk of time yesterday getting Newcrest populated with buildings. Mostly they're the houses I built a few years back based on a book of mid-century modern blueprints (the full set can be found on the TS4 gallery under the hashtag "nationalplanservice"). I also used a couple of Sears kit houses, and a few non-residential lots from the default library. I then modified one of the default houses into a cafe, and divided one of the National Plan houses into a couple of rental units. Basically I was looking to make Newcrest seem like an older suburb, with mostly mid-century buildings, and a few older ones.

And have a dashboard cut for way-too-many-image reasons :)

I then tested the cafe I'd made by sending Teresa and Paolo there for their first date. It went so well that at the end of it, they were deeply in love and he spontaneously suggested they move in together. She, of course, said yes.

He turned out to have the bodybuilder aspiration and the athletic career, so initially I let him stay in that.

With the few thousand dollars he brought into the household, plus both their wages, I was able to more fully furnish the house. I've decided they like colour. A lot. Though I'm trying to mostly keep it to blue-teal-green and white or cream, with some yellow. Naturally a lot of other colours sneak in, but only in small amounts.

It wasn't long before Paolo was popping the question - suitably enough, during a date in a dance club.

I've slowly been expanding the house as well, as money allowed (note that I did rotate it, as I considered in the previous post). Also note the publicly accessible cowplant; I'm not going to feed a sim to it on purpose, but they're welcome to Darwin themselves when it's in a "FEED ME, SEYMOUR!!!" mood.

Paolo hit a point in the athletic career where I didn't really feel like continuing it any further (I've done both the bodybuilder and professional athlete tracks before, and don't particularly care to repeat either right now). I decided to switch him over the the civic planning career instead; still a lot of work to get through, but it uses the charisma he was already working on as an athlete, so that'll be marginally easier. Also he'll earn a very nice daily wage by the top of the career track.

Teresa and Paolo do the majority of their socialization by talking with or partying with the rest of the Partihaus club members, though they each also have a friend or three outside of the group. I figured out how to set club costumes, so they look pretty co-ordinated when they first show up on lots now.

Here they all arrived in cold-weather outfits, as it was winter, though Paolo and Teresa then switched to formal wear. And eloped. Married each other in front of the DJ and everyone. Since this was the venue where they met, it seemed an appropriate place for their vows.

And then the next morning... Teresa was nauseous, so she did a pregnancy test. Looks like the 1% chance of risky woohoo I have set managed to succeed on their wedding night; she's officially pregnant.

Gah. I can only hope they manage to make enough money over the next little while to build a nursery. There's only so much time before the baby is born, and then mere days afterwards before it's ready to become a toddler, and needs its own room instead of just a bassinet tucked in a bit of open space in their bedroom. At least they just finished having time off over the weekend, so they'll be bringing home wages pretty steadily for the next few days. And both their careers have the "work from home" option, so looking after the baby should be pretty easily handled.

My dearest Amos,

Did you remember your family's old country house? Perhaps it belonged to an ancestor of yours, some humble farmer, long before the Belsterlings found wealth and moved to the city. Perhaps you came here during long summer weeks, traversing the meadows, dipping your toes into the cool water of the pond.

I'm glad the house remains furnished, though sparsely. There is a grandfather clock in the parlor that ticks incessantly, and a few too many chairs at the dining table.

The kitchen is dark and small, yet functional. I have already gathered some herbs from the surrounding fields but soon I may have to learn to till the land myself, if our child and I are to make it through the winters.

Upstairs there is one bedroom with an iron bed frame where I have set up my luggage. My heart aches to think this room was supposed to be ours.

There are two other empty rooms besides—one of them a future bedroom for our child, perhaps. There's also a small library, full of books yellowed with age; I can just imagine you in that armchair, reading aloud late into the night with my head propped on your knee.

The final room upstairs is a small bathroom, with a tub large enough to sink my whole body into and a window that looks out onto the wide plains below.

Outside there is a run-down chicken coop and an empty barn smelling of dust and dirt. Perhaps one day there will be hens and cows and rows of herbs and vegetables.

There is a glimmer of life here, of hope. My most fervent wish is that this house may one day become a true home, even though you are not here to see it.

Meet the Creator - Simblrs

I saw Sweetdevil do this at MTS, and really liked the questions they asked. So I figured, why not.

1. When did you start playing The Sims Series and what attracted you to it?

Some time around spring or summer 2000 -- my best friend got The Sims 1, and she showed it to me while I was chilling at her house. She knew I loved architecture and interior decorating (back then I was using Microsoft’s busted clipart to make birds-eye blueprints and designs of mansions & stuff), so she walked me through how to play the game. The rest is history.

2. What is your favourite installment of the Sims series?

TS3 is my favorite, hands down. It revolutionized simming, and spoiled me for all other incarnations that don’t allow for the same level of in-game customization. TS1 was my first, but TS2 holds the most nostalgia for me.

3. If you could only have one expansion/stuff pack from any of the series and it would work with your preferred instalment (1,2,3 etc), what would it be?

TS1′s Makin Magic, for TS3. Magic Town was lit! XD (I love Supernatural, and Showtime shares elements with MM, but there’s just no comparison, really.)

4. When did you start creating for the game and what made you decide to become a creator?

I started sharing my garbage in 2010. (It’s been a very slow learning process for me. XD VERY slow.)

I decided to become a creator because I quickly ran out of patience with the over-abundance of contemporary Western CC in TS3, and the community in general. To this day, I'm baffled by the lack of historical/cultural & fanciful CC. I miss TS2 -- people created all kinds of craziness for that game.

5. What is your favourite thing about being a creator?

Having the kind of content I want, more or less.

6. What was your first creation? Photos welcome!

An effton of fanciful (of course) wall murals from mythology & LOTR & stuff. (To this day I can only make the SIMPLEST of meshes in Milkshape, LOL).

7. What creation are you most proud of?

At TSR, the Clutter Bug and LOTR Scribe sets. Here at my simblr, the Witcher 3 conversions are my faves.

8. What is your most/least favourite thing to create?

CAS stuff. Effing hate it. Accessories are fine, but clothes? With all those joints, and all that texturing? HARD PASS. This January I closed my CAS Requests, cuz it’s just not something I understand, enjoy or am very good at.

I like converting decor the most, and simple objects that don’t make me want to throw my PC out the window. If I could mesh, that'd be fantastic, but I realized early on that converting’s quicker, and I just don’t have the patience for learning how to mesh. I want to PLAY, not create, dangit. 9. Are you influenced by any other creators (for The Sims or elsewhere)?

All the time! I’m particularly inspired by the work I reblog at my CC Finds Blogs, as Fanciful & Cultural/Historical, Sci-Fi/Steampunk, and Occult/Spoopy themes always excites me. 10. Who is your favourite Sims creator(s)?

I’ve said this before: my dang self. There’s plenty of creators I love (hence the Finds Blogs), but it’s impossible to find any one creator who caters to all the things I’m interested in. Lots of my recent ones defected to TS4, and all of my old faves went inactive long ago -- Luna, Hecate/DyM and Parsimonious, who made all kinds of unique stuff across the genre spectrums.

11. What piece of CC would you recommend to anyone reading this (yours or otherwise)?

The mods at Nraas, like Master Controller and Debug Enabler. They are so POWERFUL, and every day I discover something new I can manipulate in order to make my "sandbox” act the way I want it to (thanks for nothing, EA).

12. What tips do you have for up and coming creators?

Don’t be a douche with your Terms of Use / TOU Policies. If you’re sharing CC, don't have people going through hoops and circles, otherwise, why even bother? Even if you go inactive, or delete your site / posts, people will still be coming across your content years later (cuz Reblogs are permanent). Hiding cc behind passwords & phone numbers (?!?!), and other gate-keeping goose-chasing shenanigans -- ew, gross. Simming is a GAME, people, come on.
