You would think tumbling into a witch down a set of steps had knocked all the common sense of out him. “Sorry! I didn’t mean to snoop through your notes!” He immediately apologized, shaking his head. “Um, here.”
He offered a hand to help up the woman he had tumbled into, and then held out her notebook with his other hand. “Were you ...taking notes about the staircase?”

Where her body had once felt cold, warmth flooded through her. Her skin tingled, and she was all too aware of the beating of her own heart.
She wants to save her family.
The next thing Luz knows, she was standing before the behemoth itself.
She looks down at her hands--her claws?--and with a swipe, glyphs of all colors began to dance around her. She grins, the biggest grin that she might have ever worn, and with Stringbean returning to her side, Luz grips her staff and spins around to face the people that she loves.
"I'm BACK!!" She exclaims, eyes gold and black, as she looks across the bridge at Eda, and King, and the Collector. Even Amity is amongst them now, and Luz has to fight the urge to run at her immediately.
She had been safe, right? When did she get here?

“Perhaps he has already had a taste!” Sarah suggested gleefully, “Perhaps she is is a snack!”
Winnie elbowed Sarah in the gut, “Don’t be absurd. Do you not see, sisters? The child...is a witch” She stepped nearer, inspecting Sabrina closer, “Tell me, child; why does such a young witch have the mark of the devil himself?”
“It’s all over her, Winnie,” Mary insisted, “Like a delicious gravy”

"Hey! There you are---I've been looking for you like everywhere!" Catching her breath, Meilin smiled as she straightened up. It was so hard to catch her at times, she swore! But now that she finally caught up to her, she could finally give her her Valentine gift. "I made Valentine goodies for my friends, & I also made one for you! There's like sweets & other things in there---I hope you like it." Inside she would find a variety of sweets, but also a colorful bracelet too that seemed to match the one she was currently wearing on her wrist. (hehehe :>)
IT WAS FUNNY, REALLY. How they kept on missing one another, throughout this day OF ALL DAYS.
Perhaps, it was due to the fact that the BOTH OF THEM were seeking out the other. And so, were on the CONSTANT MOVE in doing so. Something that would of course cause them to keep missing each other, seeing as neither would simply stay in one place for too long.
And eventually, as the day went on, even their friends would point this out. For as she would pass by Miriam and the others for perhaps the 5th or 6th time, they too couldn’t help but bring up the absurdity of it all… That Meilin had gone off once again, just before she herself showed up.
And while it might have been easier for Itsuki to simply pass her gift onto one of them. She was determined. Very much intent from the very beginning to personally give each gift to their respective recipients. ESPECIALLY this friend! And if the Mei sis herself was still out there looking for her-- no way no how was she gonna give up now and just have someone else give her gift for her!
And so, Itsuki had nearly YELLED if not LEAPED UP WITH JOY— when they FINALLY did cross paths that late afternoon. Having NEARLY missed each other YET AGAIN, as Itsuki was just about to take a turn at a street corner. Thankfully, however, the sis had been quick enough to call out to her. Already running right over, even before Itsuki had begun to turn around to face her.
“Ah should be the one sayin'’ dat, sis! Uhf been look all o’er fer ya!” Laughing then, Itsuki would reach a single hand out to steady her. Waiting for her friend to catch her breath first, before they began their little gift exchange. “Oh, thank you, sis! An’ ah hope ya like yers, too!” Her own eyes were bright and excited, as she gratefully took the box from the other. Her gift for the sis also consisted of homemade treats, something she hope that the other would be able to enjoy later on.
Itsuki would already cheekily pop one sweet into her mouth, mere seconds after opening her box. Still very much in the midst of admiring the thoughtfully put together box of sweets-- before noticing a COLOURFUL BRACELET amidst them. Dumbly staring at it for a good long while... before lifting her gaze up to the one that Meilin herself was wearing.
Trapped between feeling speechless and just wanted to squeal outloud, the sis had somehow figured out what her favourite colours were and made the bracelet out of them! Realising now that she too had a bracelet that would match with her and the other girls, Itsuki would finally let out a tiny, silly little squeak-- as she moved forward to hug the other.
"Oh thank ya, sis! Ah love it, ah love it so much!!!"

Oh...Amity. Embarrassment and shame coil around Lilith’s heart - it was true what she said, she hadn’t talked to her after the whole fiasco at the covention. While doing so had been on her mind, there just never had seemed a good time to do so - especially with her sister’s capture, her betrayal of the Emperor and fleeing the coven, trying to get back on her feet after losing what she thought was everything but regaining her true everything - her freedom and family again. But that was no excuse. They knew Amity had looked up to them and once upon a time, while they hadn’t been able to show it, that had truly meant a lot to her as coven leader. There was hardly anything as magical as the trust, awe, and respect of a child - and she had ruined it in a selfish bid to one up her sister. How could she have done that?
“Amity, I...” She falters on her words, fumbling with her hands uncertainly, nervously. So very unlike the confident, sure-spoken leader she’d once been...or pretended to be. They’re not sure what to say, what they should say, if anything at all - their first instinct is to try to downplay it, but they know now that isn’t what’s right to do. They won’t even try to pin the blame on how Eda clearly antagonized her because it didn’t matter - they had betrayed and hurt Amity, and she deserved a proper apology.
“I don’t know what words to say to make things right. I don’t know if things could ever be right between us again after what I did, and I understand if...you don’t want to forgive me or have anything to do with me again at all.”
She hopes her sincerity is clear - she’s even dropping her usual formal way of speaking, though it’s done so unconsciously. She hesitates a moment, then kneels down, meeting Amity on her level - no longer would she look down on her as a pawn to be used, even if that had only been a brief, singular moment in their...arguably limited relationship.
“I was...a fool, to put it simply. I was wrong. I let my sister get to me, and my reasoning for...for using you like I did was cruel and childish. I didn’t really stop to think that...you winning by cheating wasn’t something you’d have wanted. I thought you would understand, but I see now I just assumed you would, that you’d agree to whatever I did and said. That was...horrible and...stupid of me, and I can’t ever properly express how much I regret it or how sorry I truly am. You deserve to be treated so much better than that...and if it means anything at all, I swear to you I won’t make that same mistake ever again.”

Placing a hand against her cheek the woman hummed in delight, spoon nestled between her lips as the human clearly enjoyed the delicious pastry that had been presented to her.
Most of the stories she grew up with when it came to witches and cooking usually contained the sinister details of a disturbing ingredients list, but this was simply wonderful.
"Amity, esto esta riquísimo! Absolutely scrumptious Mija, how did you learn to bake like that? I don't even know if I own any cooking books that could have such a recipe."

" Hey, no peeking! We're almost there. " Guiding her through the halls of the school, she made sure she wasn't opening her eyes. The entire gang had worked hard to keep this all a surprise, & it was even more special when she was one of their newest additions in their little friend group. It took weeks of planning, but it was worth it.
Escorting her from behind, she then stopped in front of a classroom door. As she carefully opened the door for her, she would then let go of her & proceed to go around her. " Okay, open your eyes. " As she would open her eyes, poppers would go off around her, confetti falling from the air.
" HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ITSUKI! "
Surrounding her were all the girls & Tyler, & when she looked around the empty classroom, she could see all the decorations they hung up for her. Colors of blue & yellow were chosen to compliment her, & on the chalkboard read 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY!' in bold letters. Gifts would be piled up on one of the desks, in which she would open them very soon. But first, Meilin would offer her a piece of cake served on a plastic plate. " If you think this is the end of your special day, you guessed wrong. We're totally gonna do something after school, but for now, consider this a birthday pregame. "

"Awwww awraht, awraht, siiis~!"
As she would focus mainly on minding her steps then (Because gosh knows that she will STILL find someway to trip over herself, even with the sis carefully guiding her there), there was also a small smile of ever growing CURIOSITY upon the Japanese girl's face. Squeezing her eyes that much tighter, the moment the other had warned her not to sneak the slightest peek. Her lips clamping just as tightly for a moment, as her shoulders hunched ever so slightly to boot.
It seemed like only yesterday, when the two of them were but schoolmates merely sharing a bunch of classes together. Not all that long ago, when Mei and her would often just sit in opposite ends of those classrooms. And yet, Itsuki had also since LOST COUNT-- when it came to how many times they have hung out together this year... How things have taken such a turn, ever since she returned from Japan-- and just approached the sis that day with a little gift.
How much has truly changed, on this very year.
And oh, that most certainly didn't just include her. As she would soon learn that Tyler had also sorta become a part of the group like she had! Pleasantly surprised to learn that he would share the same love and passion for a certain boyband, just like the rest of them did, hehe!
Before she knew it, they were already there. Standing in place for just a moment, before finally doing as she was told and opening her eyes...
Itsuki would be greeted with the sights and sounds of poppers and confetti all around her, the moment she did. Letting out a loud gasp, as she took it all in. Stunned-- almost, overwhelmed, even-- by everything that she was seeing then. At the sight of all her FRIENDS having come together to put together all of this-- just for her! Welcoming her with such BRIGHT GRINS on their faces, and showing just how EXCITED and ALL-TOO-READY they all were to celebrate her special day with her!
H-Ho boy... l-looks like something got in her eye then-- because n-no! She wasn't about to cry! O-Oh consarn it... her eyes were tearing up just a tad then... there was just no stopping it now.
"I-Is this is... rea-leh all fer me...?"
Itsuki would finally find her voice in those first few uttered words. Still taking in the wonderful decorations themselves, and just how incredibly similar the pastel shades of blues and yellows were to the outfits that she herself would wear. And of course, the outstanding job they have done on the chalkboard itself, with those two words being so vibrantly drawn out-- and just as well decorated as the rest of the classroom itself was then!
And soon enough, that awed expression would make way for the largest grin that Itsuki could ever give. Her cheeks glowing a DELIGHTED PINK, as her hands would lift themselves up to briefly cover them.
Unable to stop herself from wanting to conceal them for just a moment (Just needing a minute to gather herself), before eventually reaching out to throw her arms around her DEAR FRIENDS. Giving them all the BIGGEST HUGS she could muster (And oh, they should know by now just how much of a HUGGER she could be, hehe!), and taking all the more joy in the fact that that they were all so quick to return it. Even squealing amongst themselves as they did, whilst hopping up and down together.
"Y-Ya GUUUUUYS! A-Ah can't believe y'all... t-this is all so..."
W-Wonderful beyond words!
This had been the first time she would get to celebrate her birthday like this. To celebrate it with a group of friends like this...
While a part of her knew that her friends have most definitely been up to something-- never had she imagined anything like this! For them to plan such a big, BIG SURPRISE like this for her. Honestly, she would have been happy enough to just be offered well wishes by them on this day, and receive a couple of hugs-- and then maybe get something to eat together after. But no, oh no, they would all actually go the EXTRA MILE!
And as she was handed the first slice of cake, Itsuki could only gape, upon hearing that there was actually more to come. Humorously enough, still managing to lift a forkful of it into her mouth, whilst she peered back at her friend with a stunned, wide-eyed look on her face.
And while this was not yet the end (And in fact, only the beginning), Itsuki would say then with the utmost certainty that:
"This is already the Bestest. Birthday. Evah, sis."
