“Here they are. We have a few different lines of toys here, different sizes, and the squeakers themselves vary from brand to brand. Some of these are very loud.”
—from Treats and Collars on ao3
Thank you so much @makicarn for commissioning me to illustrate this scene from @trashpandato’s ADORABLE fic! It has been an absolute pleasure working with/for you both!

Niche politics tip: If you start dissociating from politics so much it starts feeling like each side is akin to a football team or a game, you might need to take a step back in order to recuperate.
When you're so caught up in politics that you need to dissociate from the humanity of it in order to engage with politics, that's not a good sign. It's especially not a good sign when we are talking about human rights

I would like to make another post re: relationships and mental health real real quick
I've curated my online presence, so I think I will be very biased when I say this, but I have definitely seen a huge change in terms of positivity posts vs negative posts. A good while ago (around 2015-2017 or so) there used to be A LOT of negative posts on the site. There were a lot of negative x-suggestion blogs, and a lot of vent blogs and posts and such, and I did partake in a lot of self deprecating posts and humor.
But since then either things have gotten better, or I have distanced myself very much from that kind of content, or both! The thing is that I really dont see a whole lot of that anymore. I actively avoid negative posts and self deprecating humor in general, etc.
And it has also made a huge difference in my mental state too. So if you are finding yourself firmly rooted in ventposting and aggressive or sad posts, please be mindful of yourself! I would not want you to lose catharsis if it truly helps you to do that, but definitely try to ease off of it progressively and I think you will end up in a much better place mentally over time :]
(I will also say, this includes music too! Music can be really cathartic, but sometimes we get too wrapped up in the feelings that a song can evoke and it can change ur mental state for the worse. Speaking from experience! please be mindful of yourself and take care!)

actually. the specific phrasing that boy Kevin wants to kill older Kevin with "I must disassemble him, piece by piece, so that everything inside of the Old Kevin comes out. Only then can the New Kevin truly begin." is so incredibly the idea that to heal from trauma and "improve" you have to destroy every "wrong" part of yourself, that everything "tainted" by it has to somehow be replaced by something untouched (which isn't possible)

Reasons remington adrian pendergast instantly became a favorite character
look let's just be honest here. Trevor belmont vibes. he's a sad emotionally scarred foul mouthed kindhearted vampire hunter i was kind of sunk from go
despite being raised by someone campaigning HARD for Worst Dad Ever as a living tool for vengeance he is completely and fundamentally incapable of not doing the right thing. even and almost especially if that's gonna make his life harder
You've heard of dual wielder but have you heard of quadruple wielder? Man can't even pick a single weapon truly a bicon tbfh
He also helps every person in need regardless of how they treat him. You cannot convince me this man hasn't nursed an injured bird back to health at some point in his life
Made a vampire soup
"What's the word for fucker in this language?" *accidentally calls opponent an alpaca mid-battle*
Gets adorably flustered when people show genuine interest in him dude can merc a pack of vamps in like eight seconds but tell him you like him and his brain shuts down and needs three to five business days to recover
The Trauma
Attracted his love interests nearly exclusively through negative charisma (loses to one in a fight and is horny about it/teaches the other swear words after sobbing in a garden)

Commissions for cats vet bills!
Hello! I really need help paying for my cats vet costs, his name is Dewi, he is my sweet boy and he is having severe bladder issues due to stress. We just lost one of our cats two weeks ago, I literally cannot take losing this boy as well.
I unfortunately just had to empty my bank account to pay for his treatment yesterday which saved his life. But he's having to go back in today bc he can't pass any liquids still. So I am opening my commission at a discount! My prices are below, but if they are too expensive or you'd like something cheaper, please contact me! I also have a ko-fi.
If you know anyone who would like a character portrait or commission please share it around! All boosts and shares help a ton!
Some examples of my work below!
+ this is Dewi <3

the way franklin has silna's father's body disposed of in ep 3 is a really fascinating indication of how the english see the inuit to me.
because yeah, obviously it's incredibly disrespectful in ignoring the man's own burial traditions and even from an entirely english pov as a way to "bury" someone. but on top of that i find it very telling that they felt it was their place to bury him at all--if they truly didn't think he was worth the trouble, why not just give his body to silna?
they must have felt on some level they had a claim to his body and, perhaps in their seeing themselves as a last outpost of civilization, a duty to make sure it was taken care of. even though they clearly didn't care one bit about the man they were actually burying.
this moment is one of a few in the show where the english seem to assume, entirely without question, that they have authority over the arctic and the people in it. that just by virtue of being english they are naturally and immediately the highest (worldly) power present. which obviously betrays a deeply imperialistic worldview.
and in showing that insidious assumption of authority in interaction with more baldly racist disrespect and disregard towards a netsilik person, i feel this moments highlights the twofold superiority the english feel over the inuit: both as having a exclusive claim to power and as having a exclusive claim to personhood

tonal whiplash—a scene out of context.
Trying to draw 616 Scarlet Spider Kaine is so hard for me 😂 I think my problem was the cheekbones, which I tried to fix, so I think he turned out alright here. I'm just so used to drawing him smashed up. Obviously. Also. It's really hard to draw windowverse Kaine's nose in profile. I need to find some reference photos or something.
It's smeared off to the side lol (different WIP/sketch, making a scar reference lol—it actually came in handy for this pic a little bit)
Anyway, here are the lines without any colors—
beef
I did not necessarily originally intend to blanket everything in solid black, so there are lines that aren't visible lmao — but in the dream sequence thing this is part of there is a lot of pure darkness and voids of negative space so i was like, you know, i should probably invoke that here. I GUESS I could have colored 616 Kaine's pants dark gray or something but I decided to leave it all invisible so I could keep the palette simple and focus more on the... copious quantities of blood lol
tfw your hair is just soaked with blood. I was just about to say "in the nature of dreams, this isn't realistic, and his hair isn't actually soaked in blood irl" but then I thought about it for a sec and... no, it definitely is soaked all the way up to the back of his head because of the fact that he ends up lying in a pool of his own blood for like... at least fifteen minutes. if not longer. maybe thirty minutes?
it gets chopped to chin-length after this (when he gets ✨hospitalized✨ because he's ✨dying✨) on account of the blood being a radioactive biohazard and also a hazard in general (tripping hazard, tangling hazard, etc.)—the buzzcut in some other sketches I've posted is not until a week or two later and is something he does because of some complex emotions.
they go to a renfair like three weeks after this 😂
Anywho~
he is m— he is my poor little meow meow,,,

One thing I think some of y'all need to hear more of is that it is ok to treat yourself.
The world can be a horrible place-let's be honest, it kind of is a horrible place, perpetually. People are in pain, people are starving, people are being robbed of basic life priveleges on the daily.
But you know all this. You, average tumblr user, are aware of all of the horrific things going on and have at the very least internally acknowleged them. Maybe you've voiced support, or reblogged a link to support a cause you care about. Hell, maybe you've even given your own money to a cause or attended a protest or contacted a representative.
And that is more than the average person, and you should be proud of yourself for that.
But unless your name starts with "E" and ends with "lon Musk" or something of the sort, you have no moral recompense to give beyond your attention and compassion. You did not cause this, and you cannot fix it.
Which brings me to my main point: it is ok to spend time, money, and energy on completely frivolous things with no benefit other than your own enjoyment. It is good, even! "Dumb" or "pointless" things that make you happy, if even for a moment, are worthy of a few bucks.
It's easy to fall into a trap of despair, of feeling like you must deny yourself everything for the guilt of someone starving halfway across the world, and while I would be inclined to commend you for your empathy, your guilt will not save them.
Yes, donate if you can. But it helps nobody if your mental health plummets you into inaction.
For every $5 you spend on an ice cream cone or a stim toy or a cool pen, there are millions of dollars collecting dust in the bank accounts of billionaires who could change the world but refuse to.
So take a warm bath. Eat a healthy meal. Buy yourself that thing you've been eyeing at the store. And maybe once you have prioritized yourself, you can return to your advocacy with a renewed spirit.
