I had a mental battle on the track tonight. So I pulled up some photos of myself running to visualize that I find joy in it! (Like this one!)🥰 . I mean, I know I do, but how can I struggle so much sometimes? Tonight was 6x800. Not a long run by any means. I wasn’t even halfway and I wanted to quit. Mind you my tummy was not happy with my decision to try a new energizer, but that’s not uncommon. 😒 . I had put 6 small rocks in my hand so I wouldn’t lose count. As I completed each round I would drop one. I toughed it out and completed all 6 rounds. I felt like I was running much faster than what my splits said though. Oh well, I’ll try to focus on the happiness of completing it. 🏃‍♀️ . So this photo, although more cheerful looking, represents a similar mindset to today. First interval session since August, so I tried to ease myself into it again. 5x1000m at the track, 4.46, 4.37, 4.32, 4.31, 4.31 with 2-3 min rests in between. Could have been better but also worst. So I was fairly pleased with this session, followed by some running form drills. (at Vári, Greece)
