Hello! My friend @rosebian and I are thinking about adopting and raising a clown together. We are new to the hobby and were wondering if you could recommend a good clown breed for beginners. We would prefer a small breed, if possible. Thanks!

How fun! Raising a clown with a friend or a partner is always a good idea, socializing clowns takes a lot of work and having a team makes it all the easier! The best clown for beginners in my opinion is probably the toy clown! These little guys come in a variety of breeds too, and don’t take too much space or training. They’re a pretty quiet breed, preferring to do a few tricks at a time and going back to sleep for the rest of the day. They can range anywhere from 4 inches tall all the way to three feet!

My favorite breed of toy clown is probably the Cloth or Antique Porcelain clown. These are both sturdy, unique breeds and are super easy to get along with and take care of.

New poster to this side of Tumblr, but I could use some help!

I finally managed to get a picture of this sweet clown someone abandoned in my neighborhood, I've let her in a few of the warmer nights to stay in our enclosed porch. Judging by the button eyes and the size (a little over a foot I think?) I think she's a toy/plush and party mix? The only clown experience I have is growing up with a scary/pierrot mix and I'm not sure how much of that carries over...

Also looking for help with a name, I've been referring to her as Bubbles but I'm on the fence with that.

Uh-Oh the Accident Prone

Size: 50 cm

Extra: The 14th clown of 42, Uh-Oh is a clumsy downer. He’s the depressed clown that didn’t want to get adopted in GiGi’s backstory, lol. He’s a bit bigger than GiGi but still a tiny, round man. His reluctance to leave the shop proved to be founded as he’s one of the first clowns to die. Now he mopes in Hell with the rest of his brethren.

Neener the Jesting

Size: 56 cm

Extra: Neener is the seventh clown made of the 42 overall. He is an erratic jester with boredom issues. He was given to the most prominent judge of the nation with a note that he should be able to 'help her liven up.' She has kept him around and largely ignores him as she goes about her work. His ongoing goal is to get his owner to laugh... but it's hard when he's not given the time or day. Still, he continues to be a nuisance that she surprisingly doesn't want to get rid of.

His smile is seemingly permanent. He has stated multiple times that it hurts him when he tries to frown.
