The Royal Observatory . . . We all have studied latitude and longitude in secondary school as a requirement; it was a pesky (but important) little chapter in 8th grade geography for me. In fact, it was a saving grace in the examination, because there’s only so much you can assess with regards to latitude and longitude, right? . . . When I had been learning about the prime meridian for an exam, I never would have thought that I would ever get a chance to visit the historic observatory where it was set. That fantasy became reality during a walk around Greenwich Park. . . . The Royal Onservatory is an impressive building sitting atop a hillock in Greenwich Park; it boasts of a stunning view of Central London. The building now houses a museum, which is home to the Prime Meridian line which is world-famous. Although I did not head inside, I got a chance to cross into the Eastern Hemisphere and step back into the Western Hemisphere in the blink of an eye. Imagine that. . . . Although the trek up the steep slopes leading to the Observatory was a bit taxing, it was worth it. Thank you @arushiikalia for helping me tick off another item on the tourist’s to-do list! . . .
