Here's why I think Caleb and Philip Wittebane can act out at least much of the story of Samekichi and Sal:

Samekichi and Sal were close to each other during childhood, but ever since witnessing their depressed mother's suicide, Sal grew wistful and distant. Sal disappeared without a trace one day, leaving his brother and aunt in tears with Samekichi vowing to bring him back.

After becoming Wadanohara's familiar, Samekichi had a shocking reunion with Sal who acted as if he were a stranger. Wadanohara and Samekichi became lovers but Sal's schemes drove a wedge between them as her other familiars think Samekichi has betrayed the Sea Kingdom. After the Sea Kingdom reconciles with the Totsusa Kingdom, Sal reveals himself as the real traitor and the Ambassador of the Sea of Death, a hellish realm of jealousy and anger ruled by Princess Mikotsu.

Samekichi, blaming himself for having let Sal spiral downwards, pleads with Sal to go home together, using his real name. Sal pauses with his pupils shrinking, but he reverts to his villainous self upon realizing that he hates himself and it makes him hate his brother as well.

Wadanohara arrives, asking Sal why he does terrible things. Sal remembers his mother's death but refuses to tell her, angrily proclaiming a hatred of the sea. Sal suddenly goes wistful and says he could've wished for her happiness if things were different, making the young witch pause. Sal stabs her with the sacred sword, saying he loves her pure heart and he won't ask for her forgiveness for taking advantage of it.

As Wadanohara bleeds, Samekichi remembers spending time together, the happiness of which was enough to make him forget his painful past with the brother he was supposed to bring back. Samekichi departs to destroy the Sea of Death once and for all, where Sal begs for death as he's dreamed of the night his mother killed herself too many times. This scene from the second bonus video reveals Samekichi and Sal's real names: Aonami ("blue wave") and Shiranami ("white wave").

The final bonus video sees Aonami visiting his aunt Namiho with the encouragement of Wadanohara, who now has a son named Minami. Aonami admits to being unable to keep his promise but his aunt isn't angry at him; she's happy to see him again. Standing in front of her sister's grave, Namiho calls Shiranami out for rejecting his brother's love but wishes him to rest in peace with his mother Namikaze.

6. which ship fans are the most annoying?

Saint Seiya: Shion/Albafica. Fuck that ship, fuck its fans, I hate it and I want it burned into the ground forever. I did not survive being the only vocal MiAlba fan for like, years, just to say I don't mind ShiAlba fans, because I do in fact mind and they're incredibly fucking whiny even though they're the most popular Albafica ship.

Wadanohara: Samewada. This may come as a surprise but while I actually do prefer Samewada to Fukawada or Salwada, I'm throwing my lot in with the latter two every time just because they're at least slightly less annoying. Honestly, Fukawada fans are the least annoying: Samewada fans are all antis, but Salwada fans tend to be only in it for the shock value, which is fine but not my thing. Fukawada isn't a ship I care for at all, but the fans are generally happier to discuss nuance, so I'm happy with them.

10. worst part of fanon

Saint Seiya: That's a good question, ngl. I feel like I can't say "Athena good" because that's not exactly fanon, and people siding with her uncritically really isn't fanon either, much as I wish we did more meta on that. Man, I dunno! Trying to think of popular fanon that annoys me is not coming to mind right now! :p

Wadanohara: That Sal is 100% irredeemable. Honestly, it's halfway true, but he's also reasonably tragic, the remaster proved that. He's not the worst, and while I enjoy slam dunking him in the trash, there's more nuance to him than that? Or maybe it's because I haven't been active in the fandom for ages.

20. part of canon you found tedious or boring

Saint Seiya: Sanctuary arc. It's been done, then overdone, to the point I'd literally rather sleep through it than go over it again. What if we got Hades arc. Or a different arc entirely. What then.

Wadanohara: Ngl, the first half of the game. xD; It's good for a first playthrough! It really is! But once you know the story, it takes so damn long to get through for so little content. I take notes, of course, for when I go to make Permafrost. It was awesome when I first played it, and now it's just goddamn tedious. I don't care about Helica and her friends, or the four whose names I can never remember. I don't caaaaare. I start focusing again when we go up against Totsusa.
