I managed to set of the smoke detector while making dinner, so I had to throw open all the windows and flee out to the balcony to escape the smell while I ate. Then I almost got heatstroke because I literally haven’t seen the sun for two years I don’t know how to act in her presence anymore. (Jeans and long sleeves are not right. More testing needed.) Then I remembered I had a package delivery on the way and started worrying that the delivery guy would smell the burning and see my bright red face (from heat, sun, and shame) and think something negative about me. Which almost spiked my anxiety high enough to be a problem. When I anxiously worry, I pace, so I paced into the kitchen where I found the banana bread I had been trying to prepare alongside dinner (which is how the smoke alarm went off in the first place). I finished prepping it and put it into the oven right as my phone trills to tell me that the package is now outside my door because I’d forgotten that it’s a contactless delivery so there was no reason to be anxious about the delivery guy. (Like there otherwise would have been.) Then my cat comes charging through the house like a maniac, which startles me enough to pull a muscle in my back. (Oh all the windows are closed again now don’t worry, no kitty skydiving.) I can’t stand around moaning about the pain though because I’m hearing a loud buzzing sound. There’s a HUGE bee 🐝 in my living room, which is why my cat is going crazy. She’s a really good hunter so I know she will catch it and eat it, but I REALLY don’t want to squeeze in a trip to the vet tonight, so I callously lock my huntress in the bedroom while I herd the bee outside. Now my head hurts because all of this took place during less than AN HOUR and it’s all just too much. I go to lay down but on the way to the couch I sneeze 🤧 which wrenches at my back and it hurts. (Welcome to adulthood. It’s all about the ibuprofen. Seriously.) I go to the kitchen to wash down a painkiller and oh look, the oven is on because I’m making banana bread. Right. I remembered that. But did I remember to set the timer? No. Is it burning? No! 🥳 The stick comes out clean! And it smells good!

So, now I’m laying on my couch with my bored but not-bee-stung cat, waiting for the painkiller to kick in and the banana bread to cool enough to try a piece. I didn’t really follow the recipe so it might taste awful, even if it looks and smells nice.

Anyway, having ADHD is wild and also exhausting and I need a nap.

Feeling frustrated at my body and hunger cues today. I continue to feel “bigger” and my weight reflects that. I know I need to eat more to 1. get back into a healthier routine 2. regulate my metabolism and likely result in weight loss but climbing over this counterintuitive mountain in my mind is impossible.
