#the 5yncri5e songs have been going OFF they are unreal how good theyve all been so far #i was originally a little annoyed at the 5 member subunit situation i kinda wanted like.#i dunno three groups of three and one of 2? or maybe two of 3 one of 4 and one duet?#and i was particularly annoyed because they put who i consider like some of the strongest singers in such a big group #(chisato and especially shiki's seiyuu. chisato's a bit of dark horse in that people dont notice how beautiful her vocal expressions are)#(at first until they listen closer. but shiki's seiyuu came out swinging man her voice is fantastic)#(rich and powerful but also so expressive. one of my absolute fav voices in liella)#i was worried they would shaft them and not give them enough lines or something but MAN i did not have to worry at ALL #their voices are SHINING along with tomari and kinako. natsumi's been a little shafted tho #i hope later songs will have more natsumi.... but man jellyfish. tomari's like. thin but melodic voice has been FANTASTIC #in their previous song a little love her and kinako kind of own that song. both high and thin voices but kinako is a little flatter but mak #makes up for it in expression and again tomari's is beautifully melodic so their parts around the synth breaks #where they say 'a little love...' SO GOOD so good. and of course everyone sounds great in jellyfish #this one is fully a tomari joint and she OWNS the upward lilts. the lilts. do you hear me? do you hear the lilts #so so good. i like some catchu songs (kage asobi is great) and im really liking the newest kaleidoscore single #but 5ynchi5e has been OWNING the subunit game rn for me. maybe i just like glossy dance pop HJFKDSLHJDKs #i do NOT like their subunit name tho STOP putting numbers in the names #i liked it with qu4rtz but i did NOT like it with r3birth and i really dont like it with 5yncri5e. 🍓's been thinking about Taz Skylar. Truly head empty , no thoughts but Taz Skylar moment. She likes his Sanji , really really like it a lot. But she also likes how down to earth he is. How dedicated he is to playing a role. How modest he is.

Everyone knows this by now , of course , but he learnt professional cooking and kickboxing to get into his role as Sanji , DOES kickboxing now as a hobby , is great with his younger co-star (see: Iñaki) , reliable , funny , charming.

🍓 is very enamoured with what he has shown us thus far. She is looking forward to watching more of him. Not just in OPLA but also in other films and series!

🍓 has been trying to find a place to watch his other shows (Villain , The Kill Team and The Reserves) to no luck yet but they are also really excited up his upcoming movie 'Gassed Up' !

🍓 would like to add a disclaimer that this is not a celebrity crush situation of 'oh I want to marry them!' kind of thing and instead a 'someday I'd want to be able to be like him' (in terms of traits she would like). She genuinely likes his acting and dedication and would love to see his (as well as the other cast members') other works and series¹!

¹ - 🍓 has watched 3 Japanese films Mackenyu is in without knowing he's in it/that's him… because of one of them , she has taken to calling him a 'Shiny Twink' (affectionate).

Delicious in Dungeon / Dungeon Meshi Episode 1

WOW the pacing on this is great. That was my first major impression of this entire episode.

Overall Score so far: 8/10

Dungeon Meshi hits several sweet spots for things I like in a manga/anime - cooking and well drawn food, and fantasy and dungeons. But I never took the time to try out the manga. Maybe the art didn't stick out for me? I tried reading it before the anime came out, just to get a feel for it, but it couldn't keep my attention.

The anime however.

Episode 1 handled all of what I could get through in the manga, and ITS. SO. CUTE.

The food is gorgeously drawn, the characters are adorable, the D&D vibes are immaculate, and the monsters and the food they become are fascinating!

I've only given it an 8/10 because it remains to be seen just how many hooks this might snag in my heart if what I've overheard about the manga being 'soul healing' is true.

The first think I can tell is that this is from a slightly older manga, with Marcille being a very classic/traditional tsundere (and/or possibly tsukomi character?). She is the tsundere type that future tsunderes were based off, and so TO ME she's both somewhat annoying and also more bearable than today's tsunderes.

Sorry Marcille.

I actually didn't like her all that much in the parts I read of the manga, and while her reactions are realistic and serve a purpose to counter balance Laios' nonchalant ability to eat the monsters that try to kill them, her reactions also annoyed me. The 1st anime episode made them much more bearable, and I grew to like her! I hope future episodes do her justice and that she's not delegated solely to being the one to dig in her heels when they eat something new.

Laios is adorable and just really really really wants to share his special interest with his friends, and I love him. He is a cinnamon roll that most be protected but can probably protect himself. I love that he has a cookbook and has just been WAITING to try out some of these recipes.

Chilchuk is Liam O'Brien from Critical Role and you can't tell me otherwise. Specifically his halfling character, Orym of the Air Ashari, with a bit of Vax'ildan thrown in for good measure. I'm excited to explore his story.

Senshi is goals. I wanna but a tough old dwarf roaming a dungeon for food.

I know it will likely get compared with what Capybara and I jokingly call "The Amazon Anime" -- Campfire Cooking in Another World -- and that will always hold a special place in my heart because I stumbled across the light novel when the manga only had about 2 or 3 chapters scanlated online, and never in a million years thought it would get an anime. Where as this is a big name manga that's been running since 2014 and finished last year in September 2023.

They're both cooking animes that deal with fantasy food, but Campfire Cooking is an isekai and all the animation budget went into making the food look D E L I C I O U S, and Dungeon Meshi is going to be far more well rounded story even while being a gag anime.

It's also got some fun Voice Actors!!

Laios, our hungry knight is voiced by Kumagai, Kentarou, who mostly plays supporting roles in a few popular anime and lots of smaller animes, but has spent most of his career voicing BL Drama CDs >o>

Marcille, our elven mage and tsundere, is voiced by Senbongi, Sayaka - Shuna from TenSura, Mumei from Kabaneri, and Haru from Beastars!

Chilcuk, our cute little halfling rogue, is voiced by Tomari, Asuna who, I IMMEDIATELY HEARD GOBUTA FROM TENSURA. She also play Kyou Souma from Fruits Basket. She has a very cute voice.

Senshi, our fearless dwarf, is voiced by Naka, Hiroshi who is best know as Garp from One Piece, Luffy's Grandpa, as well as Gamabunta, Naruto's giant frog.

Anyways, I'm excited for the next episode! Episode 1 was a good introductory episode, with cooking, hunting, and laying out their goals for the coming journey.

Angel's voice chapter 4 | The angel's serenity

They had 3 weeks to prepare for the competition.

In those 3 weeks, venti has been helping (Y/n) get over her stage fright as well as helping her get more confident.

They exchanged numbers and every after their rehearsal, venti would text (Y/n) a small "Great job today! o((^▽^))o " or "You're voice is as beautiful as ever! Keep it up!!! (/≧▽≦)/~" (Y/n) would feel her heart flutter at his adorable messages and would always find herself smiling every time she receives one.

Venti would make (Y/n) sing in front of his friends so that she'd get used to people watching her. Venti was very patient with her and made sure not to trigger anything.

There were times when Y/n would start feeling insecure but Venti was always there to comfort her by playing music. Venti helped her grow and soon, her confidence bloomed, like a flower in spring as he guided her, with a gentle touch, and a listening ear. He helped her find her voice. Their bond grows stronger with each passing day.

And after 3 weeks of hard practice, they were ready.

(Y/n) and Venti were both backstage, waiting for their turn to perform. Y/n took a peek from the curtains and saw the crowd of people and immediately started to get nervous. She closed the curtains back and took a deep sigh trying to calm herself.

Venti took notice of her behavior and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, You'll do great! Kazuha's sitting on the front row so don't worry!" his small words of encouragement made her heart flutter as she smiled thankfully at him.

The two were called to the stage as they both walked in front and once again, (Y/n) felt her breath hitch, she could feel it, her anxiety slowly crawling back to her as her hands shook. Kazuha was looking at her with eyes full of worry.

"(Y/n)" She heard Venti softly call her name, she looked at him who was giving her a determined smile. No words were needed to be exchanged, his smile was enough to calm her nerves.

And so the music played as she finally sang in front of a crowd, facing her fears

Their work paid off and they stood together in the spotlight. Venti could see it, her glowing smile as her eyes shone with happiness and her laughter echoed like a sweet refrain as if the angel finally broke from her chains and spread her wings. And in her freedom, he found his delight. And he was proud, to see her in her place.

They won 1st place.

Once the two got down, they were greeted by Venti's friends and they congratulated them. Kazuha sprinted towards (Y/n) and gave her a tight hug.

They all went out to celebrate Kazuha was happy to see his cousin like this, she was smiling and laughing with the group as he watched them play games at the arcade they went to with Venti by his side who was also watching (Y/n) interact so happily.

"Thank you venti, and I accept," Kazuha said as he focused on (Y/n) who was laughing as she watched Wanderer and Heizou fight over a cat plush. "huh?" venti tilted his head in confusion. "You like her don't you?" Kazuha asks teasingly. Venti blushed in embarrassment since Kazuha figured him out already. Kazuha chuckled at his reaction and patted his back "Ask her out, she'll agree I promise" and with that, he also joined the group leaving Venti with his thoughts.

The sun was setting now. Kazuha managed to convince the others to buy some food with him leaving (Y/n) and Venti alone in the quiet park.

"Thank you venti" (Y/n) suddenly said facing Venti who stood beside her and smiled at him. Venti became a bit shy at her words. "I-it's no problem! But uh.. would you maybe wanna go on a date with me as a thank you..?" He muttered with his cheeks tinted pink, he only gets this shy around her.

(Y/n) chuckled at him with her cheeks also turning pink. "Yes, I'd love to"

"Hey venti, remember that love song I sang?'

"Yeah, what about it?"

"It was your music sheet from 4 years ago and I added lyrics to it, It was meant to be for you"

"e-eehhhhh?!?!" (o/////o " )

Seriously though, I'd consider this a lapse of judgement on both Neon and Keiwa's part as well as whoever dared them to do it (which, let's face it, is likely to be Ace). It's just not smart to do something like that anymore... the internet has gotten crazy in the last few years, there are people who think they're entitled to some person they idolize and would rampage when they think that the idol is "taken" from them (regardless of whether it's true or not). They'll put people in real danger just for their delusions, it's insane

Just finished watching Liella 4th Live Day 2 Tokyo.

It's pretty wild that they are already doing a full, numbered live with the new members before season 3 of the anime. And on top of that, they announced 5th Live for early next year yet the only date they gave for season 3 is 2024!?

But it was nice to see Margarete being included as a full Liella member. I still feel like I don't know much about Tomari or her relationship to Natsumi, but the little intermissions had a plot about her and Margarete learning to be/see themselves as school idols. So that was nice.

Liella still sounds amazing. I looked for the telltale signs I usually notice when Aqours is lip-syncing and I don't think I saw any?

I'm not gonna tag this post because it's definitely shady but my first reaction to the announcement that Natsumi's little sister Tomari will be joining Liella in season 3 of Love Live Superstar was "Oh, she has a sister? Gosh, if only she had had any character development whatsoever that introduced her to us and planted the seeds for her to join the group eventually. But nah only Kanon's sister gets any such screentime and she's not even joining!"

Superstar is just such a mess to me narratively lol they clearly wanted to have their "big group" cake a la Nijigasaki and eat it too, but they forgot to like... give us a reason to care about any of the newer girls other than Shiki and Mei, and then threw in the Wien curveball. Idk it's just not hitting for me. I genuinely might just give S3 a miss. S2 just wasn't doing it for me like S1 was anyway, and that will give me more time to watch previous seasons of Pretty Cure lol
