#to imagine how things will be if rika wins

Note
Sunflowers are one of my favourite flowers and lately ive been thinking of a yooran fic where ray compared yoosung to a sunflower (in the sense that he associates yoosung with sunflowers) and he also says that the way sunflowers follow the sun is similar to the way yoosung follows rika and this keeps on rotating in my head. Do u think yoosung is like a sunflower
First ship fic, whaaat? Anyways, I don't really ship Yooran, but I do think there is a whole lot to explore with their potential dynamic. I know this was probably requested as in Yoosung being in place of MC as a tester, but I decided to take it into a more darker and grounded in canon territory. That is, Mint Eye effectively winning, and taking the rest of the RFA into its ranks. It is also kind of one-sided, but it was definitely a fun little challenge for me to write!
There are now flowers for each of them in this garden.
The reason was a rather straightforward one. The garden simply couldn't be completed without all of Rika's most beloved friends, who she longed to see by her side so badly. With each new member slowly coming to accept true happiness into their hearts, the garden bloomed fuller and brighter. And how could it not? Rika believed that the garden resembled any living creature on this Earth. It needed care, nourishment, and company to grow big and strong in order to survive against the harsh mountain winds and colds. It would grow sad when it was neglected and abandoned, and it would grow happy when it was being cared for and loved.
And now, finally, the garden has been fully completed. Blooming beautifully in the soft moonlight. A living proof of Rika's success in building a prosperous and thriving paradise for all who felt abandoned by the cruel world outside of these secluded walls.
Bluebells for Zen.
Violets for Jaehee.
White chrysanthemums for Jumin.
And sunflowers for Yoosung.
All of them were together now. Blooming and growing happily among the daffodils that were always present in this garden. They are a constant reminder of its selfless creator.
On the other hand, Mr. Ray was a mystery to Yoosung. He was the one who led them all to the truth hidden behind those traitors' many lies, along with MC as his helpful assistant. He was the one who welcomed them to paradise first and guided them into Rika's loving emrace that would open them up to true happiness. And he was the one protecting them all.
Yet, they rarely, if ever, saw him after that. Of course, he was preoccupied with his duties. His contribution to Magenta's prosperity was almost as great as Rika's. But, out of everyone, Yoosung found himself growing ever more curious of the man that his cousin has trusted so much.
He was still unaware of so many things. It was fortunate that Rika was so understanding and considerate of all of them. She didn't scold him once for being too noisy: simply smiling and informing him that she is more than happy to arrange a shared activity for them to bond over.
As long as he doesn't interfere with their work schedule, that's fine by her.
That's how they ended up taking care of the many flowers in this rather huge garden. Yoosung would be completely lost if it weren't for Ray, who gracefully whirled through the many narrow paths sprinkled throughout the flower-filled grounds, like it was his second nature. His steps were one of confidence and precision, and it was hard not to admire him for his excellence.
It was almost a bit of a challenge to try and keep up with him, without losing sight of his magenta blazer in all the other bright colors surrounding them from all sides.
"-Savior has stated that we should check on the pink roses. She's worried some pests might have damaged them from the last time she visited them." Ray's voice was firm and measured as he instructed over his shoulder. Yoosung always found it odd how he spoke to Rika and the rest of the believers in a completely different way. Not to mention MC. It's like he was a completely different person altogether, depending on who he was speaking to. Still, he would be lying if he said he didn't like this confident and measured way of speaking. It made it easy to just let go and follow his lead without thinking much, if at all.
"Pests? I thought we had a few gardeners to take care of the garden?"
Ray scoffs, walking through the flowery bushes at a quick pace, making Yoosung hurry after him. "It would be a shame if their incompetence made Savior upset."
The conversation was not very pleasant, to say the least.
Yoosung sighs as silence resumes between them once more. It's evident that Ray is only doing this because Rika instructed him to. He can't help but wonder why is Ray so disinterested in anything that has to do with them. The only times he has ever seen him get emotionally invested in something, is when he saw him talking to MC next to his workroom, as well as his meetings with Rika. Yet, to the rest of the believers, Ray appeared almost indifferent and cold in his approach.
He decides to take a chance by initiating a conversation on his own accord. Looking at Ray, who had been examining a leaf of the particular rose, it seemed that his attempt had been successful. As, the man paused, his gaze darting off to the side for a moment, before he straightened up again.
"Yes, that is correct. Savior had that in mind since the moment the first flower has been planted. Magenta's garden couldn't be completed without you all here by her side."
Yoosung's heart froze. He was aware that Rika had never left them, of course. Not really. But, to hear the confirmation of her always wanting to reunite them one day... it made him smile.
He will always be thankful to her for exposing him to the truth.
He couldn't resist his curiosity. Taking a small step towards the white-haired hacker, he brought up the question that had been on his mind for some time now. "Is there a flower that represents... me?"
Ray returns his gaze, as if he were observing him silently. Despite this, his expression remained neutral. He nods, folding his arms behind his back as he stands to face him. He almost looked like a prince, standing with his back straight like that. "There is. There is a flower for each of you."
"Can I see it?" Instantly, Yoosung perks up and takes another step closer, almost instinctively.
Ray quirks a brow, a slight change in his expression that didn't escape Yoosung's attention. Was he taken aback? Curious? Or maybe just annoyed with him getting nosy instead focusing on the job? It was difficult to read. Ray was like a book that was closed tightly, with its cover blank or fully scratched out, preventing you from even reading its title, much less its contents. Yet, for some reason, Yoosung found himself wanting to read that book more and more with each passing day.
Nodding, the hacker instructs the other man to follow him with a quick shake of his head. "I suppose the Savior wouldn't mind you learning of that."
As they walked, Yoosung was deeply in thought. What is it that made him so interested in Ray? It's not like they worked together. Or even knew one another. Their ranks were all they had.
Oh, but he was aware of the reason.
Ray was by Rika's side during those years when they were apart. He was the one who knew so many things that Yoosung didn't.
There was a part of him that felt guilty and ashamed. Rika has given them everything they need to know. She has provided them with the whole truth about that liar V and that traitor Luciel. She has given them what nobody else could. Eternal happiness.
Yet, despite everything, another small part of him, the tiniest, quietest part of him, was still in desperate need of answers.
And they were all in Ray's possession.
"-There they are."
He was so lost in his thoughts that he almost bumped into the other man's back, making him scurry off with an embarrassed flush to his cheeks. Ray either didn't notice his clumsy stunt or didn't care about it. Yoosung followed his gaze to the flowers his attention was directed at.
He squints and raises his brows in confusion. "Sunflowers?"
Ray nods. "Sunflowers represent many things. But, they mostly hold the meaning of lasting happiness and loyalty."
He seemed quite knowledgeable about the topic. Yoosung came up to the large flowers, his fingers tracing over the stem of one of them thoughtfully. Lasting happiness and loyalty... is that how Rika thought of him? Such a sentiment made him smile.
What made him believe V's shameless lies in the first place? Of course she never died. He knew it in his heart.
"There is... more to it, though."
Ray adds, his voice sounding quieter this time around.
"More?"
The other man is now standing close to him, their shoulders touching ever so slightly. Ray doesn't seem to notice or think anything of it, but Yoosung finds himself becoming rather flustered at the sudden proximity, staring up at the hacker with a light blush dusting his cheeks.
"Sunflowers always follow the sun, wherever they turn. With no exceptions, no setbacks. My Savior told me that their unwavering loyalty to the sun reminded her of you. And, once you joined our paradise, she knew for sure that you will never stray from her." Ray turns to look at him in the eyes, his gaze strangely methodical. It causes him to gulp nervously. "-Sunflowers are lost without their sun. They cannot survive without its guidance. A sunflower without its sun there to tell it where to look, is lost and wilted. It will continue to wilt in misery until its sun comes back to show it where to turn."
Yoosung's breath grows shaky. He may have been bad at catching allegories, but this one was pretty on the nose. It left behind a bitter taste in his mouth.
"...I suppose a sunflower really is... my flower."
For some reason, that admission felt heavy in his gut. Like a bag of rocks settling deep within his body, pulling him down with their weight.
"You should be grateful that our Savior will always be there to guide you from now on. You will never feel the absence of her gentle hand again. Isn't that what you always wanted? To be told what to do."
"...Savior is too kind."

Indirect Kiss Headcanons (Gender neutral reader)
Characters: Rika, Larry, Hassel, and a certain endgame spoiler character I’ll put under cut
If there’s one thing I love more than casual intimacy, it’s the most agonizing mutual pining you can imagine. I also enjoy hyperbole. This was supposed to be a simple headcanons post until I get a better grasp on the characters, but I got kind of carried away, oops-
Side note: Don’t put too much thought into the AI Turo one, because I sure didn’t put in a lot of thought into whatever AU that happened with his scenario. I just think robot man is cool and I’d like to hold his hand.
Rika
- Rika isn’t one to get flustered by an indirect kiss, though she would absolutely take the opportunity to tease you. It’s her love language.
- The two of you enjoy spending your breaks together. Even if you aren’t talking, wandering side by side through the streets of Mesagoza as you enjoy a comfortable silence, is a wonderful way to relax and stretch your legs. With the sprawling city in front of you, with its beautiful architecture and blue skies, it’s easier to keep yourself focused on your surroundings, and not your unfairly attractive coworker. If only by a small margin.
- After finishing your lunch, Rika insisted on buying dessert. Twirling two lollipops between her fingers, she smiled as she let you take your pick. One was strawberry-flavored, while the other was green apple. You plucked your favorite before Rika had a chance to snatch it herself.
- “Seriously? That one’s my favorite.” Her tone was light and her smile was lopsided. You tried not to think about how much it made your heart race.
- She popped hers in her mouth in tandem with you, humming contentedly as you enjoyed the rest of your break. Checking your watch, your heart sinks just a little. Five more minutes and your time with Rika is over. Sure, you'd only be a few feet from each other, and there was always tomorrow, but that’s beside the point. Sometimes, you wished you could tease her as much as she teased you.
- “Can I try yours?” You asked, mouth moving faster than your brain. Rika’s eyebrows shot up for only a second – you can’t help but feel a swell of pride, your confidence boosting more than you’d like to admit – before her lips twitched into her usual grin.
- “Sure, as long as I can try yours.”
- You traded, and you purposefully brushed your hand against hers as her finger slid across the back of your hand. Trying to keep your breath steady, you stared into her eyes as you sucked on the candy. It was embarrassing how much your hands shook as she met your gaze.
- “Taste good?”
- “I think this one’s better than mine.”
- Rika blushed at that. You win.
Larry
- Like Rika, Larry isn’t someone who’d get flustered over an indirect kiss. Unlike Rika, he just wouldn’t notice in the first place.
- Starting a new job had always been a bit nerve-wracking. It was new people, a new building, a new region, everything was brand new and scary. Except for the work. The work was always the same, and that was the one and only thing you appreciated about it.
- You still hadn’t gotten to know your coworkers, through no fault of theirs. Everyone had been incredibly welcoming to you. It was your own awkwardness that had been your downfall. Each time someone approached, you could feel your palms sweat and your breath catch in your throat. Sentences tangled together in your mouth until all you could respond with was one or two words.
- It definitely was not the best recipe for a successful social life.
- One fateful day, you’d forgotten your lunch at home and had resigned yourself to spending the rest of the day hungry. That was, until, your coworker overheard a particularly loud (and embarrassing) growl from your stomach and offered to buy you lunch.
- You recalled seeing him around, though, for the life of you, you couldn’t remember his name. He wasn’t remarkable, and he certainly didn’t stand out among his coworkers, with his simple suit and plain expression. Even his voice was flat. But you weren’t one to judge, and you were rather hungry, so you agreed.
- It was a quiet lunch. He didn’t talk much, which you were thankful for because that meant you didn’t have to stumble your way through a conversation for an hour. The food was good. Very good even. You managed to get an almost unnoticeable smile after you told him. When you got back to work, you parted ways with a simple nod.
- That night was spent sleepless, of course, as all nights following a social interaction were spent. Were you weird? Did he notice when you accidentally dribbled food onto the front of your shirt? These were totally normal things to worry about. It wasn’t until the next day when he offered to buy you lunch again did you stop agonizing over any made-up faux pas you could have committed.
- That was where you found yourself now. One month later, sitting next to him at the Treasure Eatery in Medali, desperately trying to figure out what his name was. He’d invited you to lunch every day, and paid for it every time without fail. Even when you offered. You couldn’t ask for his name at this point. It'd been too long.
- Even after a month of eating together, the conversation between the two of you never got more lively. Sometimes he would recommend a particular dish and light up a bit (or as much as he could) when you took his suggestion. Otherwise, it was silent. And comfortable. Probably the most comfortable you’ve ever found yourself with someone. When you did manage to talk, he listened, and when you wanted to be silent, he never pushed. It was nice.
- “What, uh, what kind of drink is that?” You fidgeted with the napkin in your lap. “It looks good.”
- “It’s raspberry tea.” He slid the glass over to you. “Do you want to try?”
- You nodded and tried not to sweat as he watched you, waiting for your reaction. The fruity tang of raspberry mixed well with the bitterness of the tea, and you found yourself grinning.
- “Woah, it’s good!”
- “You should get it next time.”
- The lady behind the counter laughed loudly as she grinned at you. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen Larry share his food with anyone. You must be a very special friend, huh?”
- You clapped your hands together in a silent cheer. “Oh! Larry! That’s your name!”
- Too caught up in your humiliation, you didn’t catch any more of the Treasure Eatery’s chef’s teasing remarks, nor Larry’s blush. Despite this, you found yourself more embarrassed upon realizing that you shared an indirect kiss with Larry rather than how far you managed to shove your foot in your mouth. That embarrassment was stored away for tomorrow night.
Hassel
- Hassel not only wears his heart on his sleeve but strikes me as a hopeless romantic. Of course, he’d get flustered over an indirect kiss.
- Working at Uva Academy was a gift you never wanted to give up. It wasn’t a job as respectable as a teacher or nurse, janitorial work was as gross as it was unforgiving. While at a few of your previous workplaces, you found your coworkers had a tendency to look down on you, things were very different at Uva Academy. Both teachers and students talked to you on level ground – even the director, Clavell, spoke to you personally a few times – and not just to ask you to clean up whatever horror show happened in the bathroom. It was a nice change
- Out of everyone, you found yourself drawn to Hassel the most. At first, you found him intimidating. Not only was he tall, with a deep voice that seemed to fill the room, but his eyes were a deep, piercing yellow. You hadn’t expected him to be an art teacher, nor did you expect how passionate he was, not just about art, but teaching in general.
- The way he choked back tears when a student showed him some of their artwork. How each piece, no matter the skill, was displayed equally and with lavish praise. You found yourself sitting in a few of his classes in between spills, to which he welcomed you readily, and you found yourself enraptured. Art had never been your forte, but maybe it would have been if you had a teacher like Hassel.
- Over time, you started to feel ridiculous for finding him intimidating in the first place. The man wore a mini-cape and his teaching assistant was the esteemed “Professor Gible.” How you could ever have been nervous around him in the first place was entirely lost on you.
- As time went on, you spoke to him more and more. You visited him between classes to see anything new the students had made, and he sought you out while you cleaned after hours to wax philosophical. Not that you minded. You enjoyed the company. Hassel was someone you admired. Not just for his passion, but his mind. He was someone who could talk for hours, and you’d find yourself listening intently every second.
- With the winter, came dry skin. You knew it was bad and didn't help at all, but you found yourself licking your lips every few seconds. Only for them to get more chapped. Great. The bell rang, and your smile widened as students poured into the hall. You knew exactly who would have chapstick and wouldn’t mind sharing.
- “Hey, Hassel!” You poked your head into his classroom with a wave. Hassel glanced up from his desk to hit you with a grin so bright, you almost had to squint.
- “Ah, [Name]! I was just about to find you.”
- Leaving your mop and bucket at the door, you jogged into his classroom. Hassel opened his mouth, likely to begin one of his rather endearing monologues, and you cut him off. You didn’t like to, but you’d be here for hours once he got started. “Before you tell me, do you have any chapstick I can borrow? I forgot mine at home.”
- Hassel froze, which you found odd. “Are you sure? You wouldn’t find it uncomfortable?”
- “Of course not. I mean, we’re friends, right,” You trailed off, and leaned against a nearby table to keep your feet from shuffling. “Does it bother you? I don’t want to overstep.”
- “No, no anything to help a friend.” You relaxed at his confirmation of your friendship. It was out of character to get insecure over something so small, what was wrong with you? Gratefully, you took the chapstick from him and relished in cool relief. Damn, winter and its tendency to dry you out like jerky.
- Hassel’s gaze jumped from your lips then to the ceiling, and then to the wall. He cleared his throat, adams's apple bobbing. “You should see this wonderful portrait one of the students did of Professor Gible while he was Terastillized today….”
- It took three months to discover the students had betting pool on how long it would take the two of you to date. Only two more days to discover the contributions of the other faculty members. Only Clavell wins.
AI Turo
- As much as the professor’s memories are a part of AI Turo, I feel like the more sentimental and emotional aspects were an afterthought. Would AI Turo know what an indirect kiss is? Probably. Would he be able to connect that that’s the cause of feeling flustered? Probably not.
- Professor Turo came out of the Great Crater, half Terastillized and oddly enough, glitching. Or at least that was what you knew. You suspected the real secret to his return would only be known to the quartet of kids that followed him out, Director Clavell, and himself. Even your knowledge was a bit greater than everyone else’s, no one else seemed to know about the Terastillized or glitchy part on the news. Being a night owl seemed to have perks in the most unexpected of places.
- You eventually found out one of the kids was his son, Arven, who seemed to make it his sole purpose to avoid Turo no matter the cost. Not that it was hard. Professor Turo kept mostly to himself despite the fascination and curiosity that surrounded him. When he wasn’t in the dorm he was provided, he was in Clavell’s office, and when he wasn’t there, you could find him looking miserably down at an aged violet book in his lap.
- Eventually, because one can’t mope forever, the Professor began doing guest lectures at the Academy. Though you suspected it was at Clavell’s request, as the days went on, he seemed to enjoy it. His steps were lighter, his expression easier, and he didn’t stare at that book as miserably as he used to. Although, there was a good bit of misery still there.
- You really thought you were being discreet while you watched him. He only caught you a few times, and being the assistant Battle Studies teacher with Dendra, you thought yourself pretty fast around corners. It wasn’t weird, you were only curious! Anyone would be. It wasn’t until Professor Turo showed up as a guest to one of the advanced classes that you were confronted by just how conspicuous you were.
- “You are the person who has been watching me.” He was blunt, and you wished your body’s instinctual reaction to being caught wasn’t to blush so red, it was almost like you glowed.
- “That wasn’t me,” You denied too fast, with your voice far too high to be believed.
- Before Turo could respond, Dendra started class with an exuberant ‘Osu!’ and his attention was pulled elsewhere. There was something strange about him, which you would usually chalk up to him being a professor or his time in the Great Crater. The science types always had a tendency to lean toward eccentricity. Turo, however, went a step beyond that. There was an almost robotic quality to the way he moved and talked. As soon as class began, he hyper-focused on the task at hand. He performed calculations of a move's power within seconds, which again, could simply be a ‘professor thing’ but all things considering you doubted it.
- After class, while Dendra was preoccupied answering some last-minute questions, Turo made his way over to you. Oh. That was why you found him so strange. He didn’t blink.
- “Now we can return to our previous conversation. I recognize you.”
- “I have no idea what you’re t-” You were cut off by a young student running in a full sprint from the schoolyard into the halls. Without thinking you grabbed the whistle around Turo’s neck, unintentionally yanking him closer to you, and blew out a loud warning trill. “No running in the hall! I saw that!”
- When you pulled away, he seemed a bit dazed. His eyes unfocused, blue light shining behind them. “That felt strange. What was that?”
- You steamrolled past his question into your own. “No clue. Are you a robot? You’re totally a robot.”

Amnesia: Later Part 1 - Girl's Party and Waka's World Routes
Tumblr media
Girl's Party
Super exciting to play Later!! I bought the Japanese version hoping to play it one day fully expecting it to never be localised but here we are hahaha, I'm not even mad that I "wasted" my money because I'm so happy haha! Ooh so Later follows if the heroine didn't pick any guy and doesn't have a boyfriend and is just living a normal life? Toma and Shin arguing about which yukata to pick for the heroine is so cute lol. I love seeing everyone in yukata! Personally, Mine, Rika, Shin and Ikki look the best to me, but especially the former two because they're so cute and pretty! But the black on Shin and blue on Ikki is just so perfect too! I've always wanted the heroine to interact more with the girls so I'm very happy we have Girls Party routes! Sawa is always such a good and silly friend, it's hilarious how bad her grades were😂 I'm also very surprised that Rika is from a family of farmers! Very different from her image haha! Kent is 190cm??? Omg lol, he's like 35cm taller than me, a whole ruler😂 Toma saying his favourite animal is humans definitely matches with that cage in his apartment😂
Tumblr media
I can see why people wouldn't like Mine especially when I think about those routes when she was an ass to the heroine initially because of her jealousy, but at the same time, I can't really hate her because she's quite nice and very cute lol. It was sweet to see how she was happy that the heroine considers her a friend and it was honestly adorable how she said she misses the girls when she doesn't see them haha, I didn't expect her to be that honest! Lmao at Orion calling her a tsundere. Shin buying a book and then going to Toma's house to read it is so cute lmao, I know he's a soft guy on the inside but it's so funny when I try to imagine it haha.
I love Rika's fated meeting with the random substitute teacher, Orion is right, it's just like a shoujo manga haha! I think the funniest part is that I can't imagine Rika running to school with bread in her mouth🤣 Anyway, I really enjoyed the Girls Party route if we can really call it a route lol. I really wish it was longer though! I think having the heroine just getting to chat with Mine, Sawa and Rika is so much fun, I really want more haha.
Tumblr media
Waka's World
The Ruthless Sergeant's World
Okay, I never knew I needed a Waka route until he said maybe he even has a chance with the heroine. Like, yes please!! And the best thing about this? We get all the different Wakas from the different worlds! Since it seems to be set before the heroine's amnesia, it's actually really cool to see the heroine's personality and actually have her talking to and responding to people lol. The heroine praising and admiring Mine for never being late to work was so cute, I can see why Mine can't win against her. As for Waka ruthless sergeant version, I can totally see why all the newly hired employees run away haha!
I was really touched by Waka when he said that he's the manager, so everything that happens is his responsibility, and that it's his job to protect his staff. I mean, Waka can be over the top but when he says stuff like that, how can I not want to cry? How many managers truly care about your well-being as much as him?😭 HAHAHA, I was wondering what Waka was going to do, but self-defence classes at night?🤣🤣 I agree with the heroine, Waka's hobby being making miniature gardens is adorable hahaha! It's so funny how soft he gets whenever he talks about them😂😂 Honestly though, despite how funny it is, I love how much effort he puts into them that they each have a story behind them. Awww, I would have loved to see Waka show the heroine his garden and everything, it would have been so cute! Why are these endings so short?!😭
Tumblr media
The Quiet Man's World
Waka is always saving the heroine in every world haha! Anyway, I was just surprised he let her go find by herself at night, but I guess we knows he's not going to allow that anymore. It was nice to know that he called Shin and Toma to pick Mine and Sawa up just in case. This Waka is very dedicated to his magic trick to have all 52 cards spread around the cafe and to have remembered their locations so that whatever card the person chooses, he can always do his trick. He's so dedicated lmao.
The Flamboyant's World
I can't get used to this Waka LOL, especially the 'hehe' lollll, kill me😂 He's so whatever about everything and says what he wants, it's so not him hahahaha. Loved their little coffee break though. He does whatever he wants too hahaha! I have to admit though, he's very refreshing to see considering how strict his other personalities are when it comes to work at the cafe. I love their little date that comprised of shopping and dining at a cafe, and dangg the confession! I totally didn't expect that ahaha, the Waka that made the most progress!
Tumblr media
The Assassin's World
It's interesting to see Waka analyse everyone's personalities and split them between those who gravitate towards darkness and those who remain pure no matter the adversity. I guess Ikki, Toma and Mine being the former reflect their personalities in their routes and Mine's when she's being an ass when it comes to love and jealousy lol. A gentle Waka is pretty nice too. I liked their walk home, and lol at Shin and Toma protecting her by watching over her as she walks home at night hahaha.
Overall, Waka's routes/endings were fun! I wish there were actual CGs though, so disappointing in that aspect and I'm also kinda sad that all the routes were basically teasing the possible relationship but nothing happens! I want moreeee, they can't stop right when it gets good! Now I'm just sad even though they were short and fun😭

So, y'know Lilas mom?
What if she went to South Korea for a vacation or something, y'know, ignoring how she hasn't told anyone about Lila missing (or in her imagination, probably, throwing a fit.)
And then she stumbles upon a little seminar about Mint Eye, held by C&R International.
And who does she see, leading it? Why, Wisteria, of course.
:)c
See, the implication of your statement means that Unknown won in the end thanks to Wisteria's dedication to his revenge. I don't think I have time to unpack how much worse that would be than an ending where Ray wins in the end. But, inevitably, the RFA would be swept into Mint Eye, sans the traitor and the liar, because we both know it won't be okay for them when Unknown gets his way.
No, because, I'm about to stew on what that would like for the both of them. Unknown getting what he wants won't make him happy and he will keep searching for something to fill the void, and Wisteria, even if she tries her best to give him what she has, I don't think it would just enough to make him accept a life after revenge. There would be a lot of tension between them, good and bad, struggling to make sense of everything.
Wisteria fell for him. Literally. She was manipulated to be his perfect assistant who never quits him. Her loyalty is to him first due to what happened during her cleansing ceremony. What is she supposed to do when Mint Eye isn't enough? She would start working even harder to make Mint Eye "better", and Rika would love to have that leverage over her... it puts her in a vulnerable position to use against Unknown if he lashes out.
(We both know Rika won't let Unknown get rid of Saeyoung and V if she can help it. So, Unknown will be angry and wrathful. How long... until he cracks and tries to take over Mint Eye?)
See, Wisteria would be under a lot of stress and pressure to be the best she can be... and if she sees her mother... the person who was the root source of every pain and insecurity she's ever had... the one who made her feel like she had to leave America entirely to be able to breathe? GOD. How is she supposed to react? She hates her mother with every fiber of her being by this point in her life. Her mother made all of this happen.
The good... the bad... and the ugly.
I think she'd have a meltdown, a very ugly and bitter meltdown, if she saw her mother again. By this point in the timeline, it could be up to a year or so since Lila left home. That's a long time to go thinking that your family doesn't give a shit about you. Her sister hasn't tried to see her, her mother hasn't tried to see her, and her other relatives haven't tried, either. It's radio silence. Of course, she thinks they decided she was better off away from them!
"She's just a spoiled child who doesn't know how to stop throwing a silly tantrum!"
That would be what shakes her so bad she can't please anyone for the sake of Mint Eye anymore. She'd wake up and realize, "Oh my God. Mint Eye will never give me or Unknown what we want. We're just like my childhood home. We can't live like this."
When she has that epiphany...
Let's just either the cult is going to belong to Unknown or they're going to burn the place to the ground and leave it.
Oh, but, the worst she can do to her mother in that place is just... hit her. She can slap her mother and leave, but that's the only thing she could ever do. I imagine she wouldn't, though. She'd shut down and someone would have to escort her out of the room. Her mother puts her into a state of fight, flight, or fawn. She normally freezes and isn't able to move. Wisteria lashes out to protect herself but... if her mom is there... her mask will shatter.
And she's just... a vulnerable person again... the same one who fell into Unknown's lap and decided to burn with him.

Curse! Yuuta AU
Ft. Inuokko ofc
Where Yuuta is hit by the truck instead of Rika!
• He didn’t die immediately, and that’s probably what screwed everything up. Because if he died immediately, he wouldn’t have had the time to be so scared. Instead of a hard blow and a bright light, he could feel everything. He could feel Rika holding him, begging him to hold on - and so he did.
• Yuuta was a little different in how he wasn’t mindless, he was extremely aware of everything that was happening and the power he had. The problem was that he’s always felt everything in a different way - maybe a little too intently. So when he was angry, scared, upset, or even happy, someone ended up getting hurt.
• He couldn’t help the way he reacted when Rika’s grandmother had gotten so close to Rika. All he could hear was danger, and the rest was red. With all things considered, Rika took being an orphan again pretty well. But in some ways they did end up bringing out the best of the worst in each other.
• See the thing is Rika didn’t have cursed energy, but Yuuta had a way of making the rules bend. From the day she held his corpse, it was pretty easy to see his spirit as well. With that, seeing other spirits was effortless thanks to Yuuta.
• They were discovered when Yuuta had accidentally lashed out at the care workers in their orphanage. He never meant to hurt people that badly, but sometimes the people, especially the care workers, truly deserved it. It wasn’t like anyone would miss them anyway. When you fuck around, you find out.
• The issue with Yuuta was that he was a little too human and inhuman at the same time. No one is really sure why Gojo insisted on keeping him alive when many theorized him to be quickly getting stronger than even the strongest sorcerer, but questions weren’t really of importance to said sorcerer.
• What’s more is that Rika had absolutely no cursed ability, everything about her and her ability was due to how much ability Yuuta absolutely radiated. She wasn’t cursed, anyone could see that, she just had a very attached spirit, a smart one too. He could go and come as he pleased, but where else was he supposed to go? Who else would understand him? Especially when he didn’t exactly look approachable. So she wasn’t needed on missions, as long as Yuuta went.
• The missions went as expected, he didn’t want to hurt anyone until something made him or someone he cared about threatened. For a cursed spirit, he had an unusually high level of empathy for others, or more that he got easily attached.
• Maki was a bit difficult to win over, but above all else she respected strength and usefulness. If nothing else, Yuuta was useful and even a bit easy to manipulate. So the fact that he acted so unnervingly human sometimes probably helped her forget he was the very thing she was dedicating her life to killing.
• Panda on the other hand was probably the easiest to bond with. In a way they were very similar, connected by shared goals and a similar origin that tended to disconnect with other people. Not quite human, not quite curse, but filled with a purpose that most people lacked.
• Toge was as unpredictable as one might expect. It was a bit funny for everyone else to watch a sometimes 8 feet tall curse cower from his resting bitch face. He didn’t really have to do anything, Yuuta’s imagination did all the work. But he was also the kindest, and in a way the most understanding. Not many understood how it felt to hurt others no matter what you did or how hard you tried. It’s hard to reconcile with the fact that your creation was with every intention of the universe to be a weapon for whoever you were unfortunate enough to left with. Sometimes Toge let him hold the watering can in the garden, and helped his claws gently tip it to bring life for once. There was a shared understanding of knowing what it was like to bleed for others, but also in knowing that their blood was on your hands first.
• When Geto invaded the school, it was a shared understanding that they would be dying for a curse. Maki was the first to go down and Rika was unfortunate enough to get caught in the crossfire, Toge and Panda were quick to follow despite their efforts. So when Yuuta came and saw everyone he had ever cared about ‘dead’ or dying, he lost it.
• The battle was brutal as Yuuta had put every bit of his soul into absolutely eradicating the man intent on consuming him for his power. Naturally, when you fuck around, you find out to never piss off a bisexual curse with a found family dynamic going for him.
• In Disney-esq. fashion, everyone survived to live another day and Yuuta ascended. Not to Heaven or hell or wherever the LGBT+’s go (I’m the LGBT+ don’t cancel me fjdjdjsh) but just kinda went back to his human form. His crazy ass monster characteristics remained on call for when he’s especially crazy af but for the most part, he looked like a totally normal teenage boy.
• With that said, Rika was technically released since he no longer needed a tether or an anchor to his humanity because of his new lil found family. But, she decided to stay considered she spent the last 5 years being surround and a little traumatized by curses. She’s currently being trained by Ijichi to become a manager because hey this 15 year old girl is kind of terrifying!
• It was a little threatened on to the council to allow Yuuta to not only live but stay after that. They forced him to take a binding vow not to join the curse spirit side and called it a day because hey this 15 year old curse is kind of terrifying too!
• He does still go to train with Miguel and his existence is kind of an open secret that everyone knows. Spirits try to kill the traitor and get blasted right into the afterlife, sorcerers try to eliminate the threat and immediately find the found family trying to murder them, humans don’t really know why but they feel very uneasy about him.
• It’s a common feeling, among nearly everyone that his eyes are unsettling. Usually, they end up giving his status away, if you look too long, the void stares back.
• Technically he doesn’t need food, since y’know, he’s dead. But he’s gone so long without having human contact that he always attends the ‘family dinners.’ Which, again technically is just because Toge is the only one who is capable of cooking and everyone would die without him around, but everyone secretly likes it. Yuuta always ends up eating too because Toge looks at him expectantly.
• Mr. Man has also not slept since he’s died, he doesn’t need to but he can. The thing about him though, when he sleeps he doesn’t dream. Instead, he goes to a void of space that makes him think he’s finally died for good this time. He always wakes up, but even more than that he’s afraid for the day he doesn’t.
• He spends his time mastering weapons, copying techniques, becoming fluent in sign language, and creating atrocities unfit for any human being in the kitchen. They’ve tried to ban him but he’s so genuine he is an actual danger to their health. Poor Rika, who also is incapable in the kitchen, spent years subject to the poison before having actual food. Everyone thinks Toge invented food.
• No one tells the first years that Yuuta is a curse, it’s kind of a game to see who can figure it out. Megumi grew up with it so he’s not in the running, to Yuuta’s absolute devastation all of his animals hate him lol.
• Yuuji and Nobara haven’t figured it out yet, they just thinks he creepy xoxo we love the lack of critical thinking skills.
Might write for this in the future! Keep an eye out on AO3 and feel free to reach out if you want to talk about it as well! (๑ÒωÓ๑)

how do you think it would be dating okkotsu? im just so in love with this boy i wanna cry
Tumblr media
DATING OKKOTSU YUTA
This boy is a cutie. At the beginning of the relationship his so shy that all the initiatives have to come from you. Even something as brushing your shoulders makes him nervous.
But with time he gets better. He won't stop feeling shy or getting his cheeks all pink and that is what makes him even more precious. But when he finally breaks the barrier of touch, he's going to be a touch starve.
He's always touching you. If he can't, he'll at least hold your pink. He just loves to feel you and more then that, he wants to give you all the love in the world.
And that is how he is. Yuta is the type of boyfriend that shows how much he loves you with every single thing that he does. He just wants you to know how special you are to him.
So he'll make everything in his power to win your smile even if he's not around. He loves your laughs, it makes his body flows with light.
He travels a lot and he knows how lonely that can be so he'll text you, call you, video call you even take shy selfies. He'll also send you presents of the things that made him remind you.
When he comes back, he's going to spend lots of quality time with you and organize all types of dates so you can enjoy each other the most.
He loves your smell and he really loves your hair. It doesn't matter if it's up or down, he just loves it. And you make his heart flutter whenever you show up with a new hairstyle.
Want to see this boy die, let him take care of your hair. He's going to be so gentle that you always fall sleep making him giggle.
He's really protective. Actually he overreacts. He lost his first love in front of his eyes and just by imagining losing you, makes his heart aches and desperate.
That is something that sometimes starts a fight between you two. But be patient with him because he's an understandable boy and if you talk him trough he'll come to comprehend his trauma.
And you see, Rika also loves you very much. She can see how much happiness you bring to Yuta and that is enough to make her love you. Yuta cried the first time he realized your feelings towards Rika and hers towards you.
That's how it is to be with Yuta. He is a lovable, cutie, present, warm and gentle boyfriend. He makes you feel like a queen and the only problem is how much you miss him whenever he's away.
OOOOWWN I LOVED IT SO MUCH. Just like you, I'm so in love with this boy that it makes me cry. I just wish I could put him under my wings and hold him tight. Thank you so much for this!!!

Oh, its kinda late but merry holiday, or christmas if you celebrate it! May your holidays be blessed and filled with only happiness and love 😽😽. Here, take all your loves you deserve!
Tumblr media
AAAAA this is so kind of you, thank so much and a happy holidays to you too!! <3 You’re always so lovely to me! I’m sorry that I’m posting this on Boxing Day, but I hope it’s still okay for you!
RFA and Reader Snowball Fight Headcanons
Yoosung Kim Snowball Fight Headcanons
You would have been visiting Yoosung at his university over Christmas, it has already started to heavily snow whilst you were on your way so by the time you actually got there, the snow had fallen to several inches.
Yoosung was so excited about the snow, it reminds him of when he was young and would make snowmen in the garden with his Rika and his sister. He’d look a little crestfallen thinking about it, and you offered to build a snowman outside on campus with him.
The two of you built the snowman together, dressing it in a scarf and sending silly pictures of the three of you to the RFA chat. It was then, as Yoosung was trying to take his own selfie with it, that you launched a snowball right into the back of his head and he caught it on camera.
He feels so betrayed, pouting as he looked at you with big puppy eyes.
He won’t retaliate until you laugh and begin scrambling to craft another snowball, at which point Yoosung with try to hide behind the snowman as a shield. He has to fight back, his time on LOLOL has trained him for this.
He throws a few snowballs out from behind the snowman, and then gets hit with one in the face when he peeks around to see if any made contact with you.
He’s laughing and having fun as you throw the snow, and it continues for a few minutes until you’ve tired yourselves out and return to his dorm for a hot shower and warm hot chocolate.
Zen/Hyun Ryu Snowball Fight Headcanons
The two of you would be on a winter date in the park. Zen was marvelling at how the pure white snow compliments his air, and makes the red of his eyes stand out against the crisp background and how th- Bam. You hit him on the side of the head with a snowball, instantly silencing his handsome spiel.
‘Jagiya! How could you do that to m-’ Bam, another one hitting him in the shoulder. He watched as you giggled, scrambling to gather enough snow for another attack and his heart just melted, he can’t stay mad at you. But, he also can’t lose: his ego would not allow it.
He grabs a fistful of snow and starts chasing you through the thick snow, his trousers are getting a little wet but he doesn’t mind, you’re having fun. You turn back mid-run to throw another snowball at him, but miss. Zen takes this opportunity to throw his own snowball at you, hitting you on the ass and earning a smirk from him.
You try to throw more, but Zen runs for fun, there’s no way that you could overtake him. You manage to get a few more snowballs thrown in his general direction but the majority of them miss and you somehow strumble and fall backwards into the snow as he got close.
Zen tried to stop himself falling, he really did, but the snow was heavy on his feet and he ended up falling on top of you, caging your body with his own.
After the initial moment of distress, he couldn’t help but think how beautiful you looked with the snowflakes falling into your hair and on your eyelashes. He leaned in and planted a kiss onto the corner of your mouth, his lips slightly cold from the weather.
The two of you smiled, and then you scooped up a handful of loose snow and threw the dusting into his face.
Jaehee Kang Snowball Fight Headcanons
You were hard-pushed to get Jaehee to go out in the cold weather, she was too busy and didn’t particularly fancy getting her clothes wet. After enough pleading, she finally relented and agreed to make a snowman with you as long as it didn’t take too long.
The two of you made a small snowman together, and gave it a small ponytail. You sent a picture of it to the RFA chat with the simple caption ‘Snowzen’.
She would be getting ready to go back inside to make coffee when you hit her in the back of her shoulder with a snowball.
After a brief moment of disbelief followed by a sigh, Jaehee would wait until you weren’t looking to quickly grab some snow and throw it at you. Obviously, she missed.
But that still instigated a war. You grinned.
You both started gathering snow and throwing it at one another: yours in attack, Jaehee’s in defense. It wasn’t often that she got to loosen up, so you were happy to see her laughing on this rare occasion.
Snowzen got beheaded in the fight.
Saeyoung Choi in a snowball fight Headcanons
Firstly, it’s not a snowball fight, it’s war.
Seven would have been working into the early hours of the morning when he realised it was snowing and had an absolutely awful idea for a prank.
He went out into his garden, calmly grabbed a fistful of snow, took his time on his way back inside to smooth it into a perfectly spherical ball, prayed, and then launched it into your sleeping face from across the room and fucking bolted.
He knew he was a deadman. You sent in a text demanding that he meet you outside in twenty minutes to settle the score like men.
Once the smug bastard comes out, you immediately throw a snowball into his face but he ducked, so your snowball missed the target. You forgot he had physical training from the agency and realised this was going to be a lot more difficult than you originally thought.
You weren’t even sure how he manages to make so many snowballs in such a small amount of time  but in the time it takes it you to craft three, he’s got twice as many done and he’s beginning to propel them at you.
There were about twenty minutes of all-out warfare, with Seven doing dramatic leaps behind bushes and rolls to escape your attacks, all whilst managing to hit you with practically every snowball he threw.
You were so happy to see him having such fun, knowing that he never got to do this as a child.
It was safe to say he won the snowball fight, and had to give you pouty kisses afterwards to make up for his prank.
Jumin Han Snowball Fight Headcanons
Jumin had never been in a snowball fight before and isn’t entirely sure what he’s supposed to be doing, so he sends you a wary look when you threw a snowball at him, hitting him in the chest. He had come outside onto the rooftop terrace to admire the scenic snow on the city with you, and you assault him? He is offended.
‘____, what are you doing? You’re going to get my suit wet an-’ You threw another one into his leg followed up with the sweetest, most innocent look you could muster. He sighed. He resigned himself to humouring you, since it would clearly make you happy and he was always one to indulge you.
You explained to him what he was supposed to do and he asked for a practice shot, which you were unwilling to give him.
Jumin’s aim was absolutely terrible and he mentions making a note to practice such things as this imperfection should be ironed out and- you threw another one at him. He smirked and gave you a look, before attempting to throw more of the snowballs he had delicately crafted at you and even managed to hit a few on your thighs and stomach.
Despite not particularly caring for such activities himself, he enjoyed seeing this playful side of you, even if it was a bit cheeky.
Jihyun Kim/V Snowball Fight Headcanons
The two of you would be out early in the morning so V could take pictures of the sunrise hitting the untouched snow, reflecting the beautiful colours of the scenery.
V also decided that he wanted some pictures of you in the same setting, with your long flowing dressing gown settled softly atop the snow. Of course, you indulged him.
After a few minutes of him taking your picture, you noticed he had smiled and was satisfied with his images for today. He turned to put his camera down on the table and take a sip of his coffee when something cold and wet exploded on the back of his head. It was a snowball.
It’s a little difficult for him to imagine himself in a snowball fight since he can’t see brilliantly and he feels like his aim will be off, but he’s more than willing to try since you wanted to play.
You run over to help him down the steps and into the large garden before you retreated back to your original position. You kept it fair though and stayed in his field of vision.
V wasn’t usually one to let off steam in such a way, so he seemed a little tense at first and didn’t throw the snowballs too hard in fear of accidentally hurting you. He missed more than he landed, so you were definitely winning the snowball fight.
He didn’t mind though, he was far more invested in the sight he saw before him: the adorning smile on your face, the red flush of your cheeks from the cold, snowflakes clinging to your hair and your dressing gown flowing against the breeze behind you as you ran. He could never capture such beauty if he tried.
Saeran Choi Snowball Fight Headcanons
Saeran doesn’t really enjoy the cold weather, it chills him straight to the bones so he either needs to wrap up in a bundle of layers otherwise he can’t stay out in it for very long.
However, the boy must go and buy his ice-cream from the convenience store since his ‘idiot brother’ ate the last of it without ordering more. You offered to go for him, since you were worried about him slipping and hurting himself, but he didn’t know which flavour he wanted, so you decided to accompany him instead.
The both of you were almost back at Seven’s when you got the idea to start a snowball fight, so you suddenly grabbed some snow and threw it at Saeran, hitting him in the shoulder.
He turned around and was both confused and annoyed, demanding to know why you hit him. You were also confused at his annoyance, but it quickly dawned on you that he didn’t know what a snowball fight was. He’d never had the chance to do it. He was never allowed out when he was a child and even if he had, he would have been too sickly to go out playing in the snow anyway.
You explained it to him and his expression softened when he realised it was a playful activity, and that he should try making up for the lost time. Saeran awkwardly knelt down, collected some snow and stiffly threw it back at you in the hip. He seemed nervous to make sure he was doing it correctly and looked at you for affirmation. You smiled and laughed, encouraging him to do it again as you collected more snow.
It was a very small, soft start for him.
Bonus: When the two of you got back to Seven’s house, his brother came to the door to plead Saeran’s forgiveness and asked if you got him any snacks from the shop, and was immediately met with a snowball to the face from Saeran.

"least to most bottom of the RFA" you say 👀
CONSIDER THIS A REQUEST MY FRIEND
Hehehehehe THANK YOU
I actually came up with this bc I had a stress dream that I was writing request and I was writing smth like this and since then I have not thought of anything else ANSNSNSND
Least to most bottom MM characters:
12. Rika
This bitch will not. Back. Down.
She is a full on top, fuck you
Nah but really you will not make this woman bend down to your will, it has to be the other way. She has to feel the power! The control!
(and of course if we want to get into more of the psychological stuff it's also bc of that bitch ass pastor that did that to her as a child, and to him I wish him a very fuck you and fuck off, BUT ANYWAY)
This woman will not back down. If you try and make her a bottom she will act like she's backing down until she turns the tables and you're the one that's pinned against the bed or wall. It's a fight you cannot win 🙂
11. Unknown
No.
No matter how much you want to pin that little fucker down, he will not. Let. You.
He doesn't want to feel vulnerable.
Still, that doesn't mean he won't do it every once in a full moon or smth where hee will maaaaybe let you be the dominant one. Of course he will still be ordering you around, so who's really the one in control?
10. Jumin
Jumin is also a power top, although every once in a while he'd change the pace of things for a bit.
He wouldn't go super far as too havig to full on freaking beg, but he'd come pretty close to that point if you hold him down and start straddling him. He wouldn't mind getting tied up too y'know? Just not all the way. Maybe once in a while you can tie his arms behind him and straddle him, and he will literally go crazy because he just can't touch you, and you just feel. So. Good.
9. Vanderwood
He's a bottom brat whenever he switches andbdbfnfn
Listen, once in a while you'll both change pace, and he'll be all like "pft, your think you can make me kneel down? No way in hell." To be a few minutes later begging for you to let him come and to please, please just fuck him!
8. Suit
But Amanda, what about Unknown and how he wasn't a bottom? Isn't Suit basically Unknown but in his early stage?
And to that I say yes but I love brat bottom boys so you will have to deal with it ajdhdhdb
Listen to me.
TOPPING THIS MAN? YES PLEASE???
Also since he does still have a bit of Ray in him, y'know he likes being pinned down.
He will be an absolute bastard though. He will curse and yell the whole time, but then once you finally get him?
Oh he will beg for you non stop like Lin Manuel Miranda said in his Hamilton musical songs "Non-Stop"
He L O V E S being tied down. Not Lin btw I mean Suit lol.
Not with blindfolds tho, that would be far too much. But to be served his own medicine for once? Honestly he's kinda into it. He loves the dominant glint in your eye, how commanding you are, basically how you're not taking ANY of his BS.
It is my personal hc since I'm a horny bitch, that suit would actually be into being a bottom, but he's just a bit shy about it, and yes, he can be a top too which is why he's not all the way down, but you know being a bottom is a guilty pleasure for this boy.
He likes that shit.
7. Zen
He's also mostly a switch, except he isn't much of a brat. He's more of a chill bottom. You tell him you want to be on top today? Sure thing baby let me just get the blindfold.
He's totally up for it, and he loves seeing you taking control and being confident. That's what he likes the most. Of course, he'd much rather be the one gripping your wrists on top of you and banging ya like there's no tomorrow.
6. Jaehee
YES
This woman hasn't really dated anyone or anything except her work, so she's definetly a bit inexperienced. That's why she'll look to you to take the lead!
Jaehee should be spoiled alright, so please take care of this woman with your life and make her have the time of her life
5. GE! Saeran
This boy is also a sort of power bottlom. Sometimes he will take the lead and oh god, is he great at that, but other times? When he's a bottom, he's a BOTTOM
He will gasp and moan at every little touch, he absolutely adores getting praised, and he loves it when you watch him with that glint of lust in your eyes.
Boy when he's a bottom he's just: chefs kiss 💋👌👌
4. Saeyoung
He's also an amazing top, but when he switches and becomes a bottom he's also AMAZING. He's at the top of the bottoms (hahahaha funny)
He also likes being pinned down and given orders, to have to b e g.
He also likes praise a lot like his brother pft.
And he's also a lot into being tied up, blindfolds, all that. No matter if it's you or him. The only thing he's a bit iffy about is basically hitting him and for very obvious reasons, but appart from that he's up for anything wink wink.
3. Ray
Do I have to even explain? Like??? Do I really???
His middle name is BOTTOM.
When you look him up in the dictionary it says in bold letters and in the whole page BOTTOM.
His name means BOTTOM.
He's too shy to start anything up by himself, he needs you to take the lead so he knows he's not doing anything wrong. This boy will bend to your will so fucking easily, he's a fucking spaghetti, you can grab him and twist him around your finger akfkfnfn
Just praise him and he'll be so happy. Just imagine when -milking him dry- EHEM he'd just beg and his eyes would be all teary and OH LORD YES BOTTOM RAY ALL THE WAY WHOOP.
2. Yoosung
It is literally cannon he's a masochist. Literally. This boy loves it. He's like s puppy. He will look at you with adoration the whole time, and will follow all of your orders. He'd happily go down on all fours for you, he'd literally do ANYTHING
Also I have said this so many times and I will say it again,
P e g h i m
This man is PERFECT FOR IT, DON'T WASTE THE OPPORTUNITY AND TEASE THE FUCK OUT OF THIS MAN, MAKE 👏 HIM 👏 BEG👏
1. V
Dude. This man is a bottom and nothing else, NOTHING ELSE
PEG HIM TOO! (Pfttttttt basically the last two of the list are just me going PEG HIM over and over again lmao.)
You cannot tell me this man is a top. You simply can't.
He is a bottom boy. Just don't blindfold him bc ✨trauma✨
Appart from that tie him up, edge him do whatever else you want. This man will look at you with tears in the corner of his eyes, barely able to speak. "M-MC... please....I-I just c-can't anymore...." He'd whisper.
God I know he isn't my favorite but I would dffinetly date him just for this holy fuck.
God am I horny and touch starved I need jesus
Anyway now go and read the bible and bathe in holy water, and I'll save you all a spot next to me in hell :D

i love love LOVE ur page pls do rfa and maybe v, saeran, and rika if they were exchange students at rad? 😏
ilysm THANK U :( <3 i love making mmxom! stuff ngl. also, love ur avi :')
for the sake of this let's throw the idea of religion out the window KCJSKDJSKSK bc most of the mm characters are canonically religious and that would make this post a tad more boring...or chaotic. idk
btw i dont usually write for rika but this is an exception ! ;)
zen
when zen wakes up and sees the demon brothers plus diavolo and barbatos, it takes him a minute to process what's in front of him
he would try to go back to the human world so many times...poor bb
since zen is going to be there over the course of a year he would eventually begin to butt heads with asmo. they would not get along...
he'd hate lucifer from the start bc lucifer reminds him of jumin. got along with satan until cats were brought up
irritated by mammon and levi, though he is secretly fond of levi bc levi reminds him of yoosung in a way
is fine with beel, doesnt have many issues with him but is constantly concerned for his skin. totally jealous of beel's body.
diavolo also reminds zen of jumin in a way, but like, if jumin was more likeable.
likes luke and simeon a lot! thinks solomon was brought to freak him out because solomon lowkey resembles zen. like...super lowkey...
hates that it's night all the time
if any of the brothers flirt with him, he'll immediately shoot them down. he's not interested. would never date someone who could outlive and overpower him
visits belphie in the attic once then never returns. he knows a thing or two because he's seen a thing or two
yoosung
yoosung is screaming and crying so much diavolo actually considers sending him back to the human world.
literally, the entire first day is yoosung BAWLING and swatting the brothers away like flies
eventually he warms up to levi, and levi only. he befriends luke and simeon too, but is suspicious of solomon. doesnt like barbatos bc he thinks he's like jihyun...
doesnt visit belphie in the attic, period. he shits bricks when he sees lucifer so if lucifer says not to go up to the attic, yoosung obeys
even if the brothers start flirting, yoosung would never notice. he's way too oblivious! he becomes more like family, because he kinda resonates with them and the whole lilith thing.
but he actually has a fairly good time. may or may not turn into a cult leader like his dear cousin afterward, though...
jaehee
simply accepts her fate and agrees to spend the year in devildom
tells lucifer all about jumin...then comes to learn that lucifer is actually more like her and v?
she and satan get along well, but she befriends barbatos and spends most of her time with him and luke instead. baking and bonding over being pushed around by their bosses :')
helps diavolo with some of his work and gives him a lot of pointers for organization!
she would not like mammon. he reminds her of elizabeth the third.
one of the few who actually helps belphie out of the attic ! except when belphie tries to kill her, she'd fight him. and win. ur not allowed to disagree teehee
she most likely wouldnt pursue any romantic relationships with anyone bc she simply isnt interested in any of them HAHAHA
after the program ends she'd be one of the few who actually keep in touch with everyone, and would follow the canon storyline (minus all romantic interactions).
jumin
caught off guard bc wtf? is that....his twin?
the whole room is distracted bc of how much jumin and lucifer resemble one another, at least physically
hates every second of it and makes it very clear
although he likes talking with satan, and diavolo and barbatos
gives belphie some kind of inspirational asshole speech...doesnt help him out of the attic at all
jumin would actually come up with an escape plan and it'd be flawless. he would actually successfully escape back to the human world at least once
but the others have like, powers and shit so they can easily bring him back
would ghost everyone after the end, especially solomon
saeyoung
he thinks hes in a coma. doesnt believe it's real at all
when he does realize it's real, it's too late, he's being killed by belphie JCJZMXJSM
after hes brought back he warms up to everyone a bit more and is much more respectful of the environment.
he likes levi the most because when hes with him it's like hes with yoosung again! introduces levi to LOLOL, and they actually get to play with yoosung online every now and then
unfortunately for the obey me men, none of them are saeyoung's type. he does like that everyone is swooning over him tho
he warns all of them to keep things lowkey because of his hacker job, and says that it's too dangerous for them to visit him in the human world
before he leaves he gifts everyone some kind of gadget as a way to remember him. gives the whole im-dangerous-man speech, then disappears, never to be seen by them again.
saeran
so we're talking saeran as in good ending saeran, right? because this mf is getting sent straight back to the human world if it was suit saeran 💀✋🏻
and if it was only ray, he'd be crying the whole time. poor kid.
anyway he totally lets belphie out of the attic. naturally, belphie reminds him of himself, so he tries to help.
i think after everything settles down saeran would warm up to beel and belphie the most because their dynamic reminds him of his and saeyoung's. he easily relates to belphie and all of belphie's issues, and wants to help him through it!
like his brother, saeran is uninterested in everyone romantically because none of them are his type. he may or may not have had a fling with satan, but satan was giving off too much rika vibes /:
keeps in touch with them and will help them when they visit the human world
v
v is similar to jaehee where he simply accepts the situation at hand
v and solomon would be really good friends omg CAN YOU IMAGINE????
two old men just cracking jokes and cooking poisonous food!
he is the only person who is immune to solomon's cooking.
helps belphie out of the attic. somehow doesnt allow himself to nearly get killed tho
mammon accidentally becomes his therapist...! and everybody except for belphie thinks he should break up w rika
v might have a fat crush on asmo...or maybe even diavolo. but wont touch asmo bc his bff is solomon. pursues diavolo on the down low
rika
oh gosh...she'd get sent straight back to the human world.
if you want someone who will help create peace among the three realms, you are not going to achieve anything with rika.
if she did manage to stay back, though, she'd probably be able to weave her way into levi's heart
she gets along well with satan
when it comes to the whole belphie thing? oh no. OH. NO.
this mf would probably help belphie kill off the entire human population 😭 the whole obey me storyline would flip upside down and they'd start another war
interesting concept ngl

Dust (707 x Reader)
ANGST..Kinda
Word count: 760
Warnings: Spoilers for sevens route, Tsundere seven i think
His eyes, you’ve always loved his eyes – that strong Amber gaze that was able to win your heart from the moment he stepped foot in the apartment where you had been forced to coordinate a party for the charity organisation he was apart off, you knew from the few conversations you had taken part in over the last week that 707 wasn’t your normal guy. Yes he laughed and jokes, his jokes were in fact normally always terrible, he played pranks on the other members and at times tried to pull you in but there was another side too him one you could tell was there but he just wasn’t letting show.
When he stepped into the apartment you could just tell your speculations were correct, he wasn’t the same guy from the chatrooms pulling pranks and making jokes he was quiet, he isolated himself to a corner of Rikas old apartment and very rarely said anything to you, let alone meet your eyes and crack a joke. Although you expected this it still hurt – you knew you were in love with him as crazy as that sounds seeing as you had only known the guy for 7 days and yet your heart was beating so rapidly for the crazed hacker.
You wanted him to look at you to tell you that your existence meant something to him, that he was just as happy as you were to be in the same room. You wanted to feel him, to smell the scent you had been imagining for days in your head – how would he smell? Would he have a musky fragrance almost as if he was coated in aftershave or would he smell salty, like the chips and soda he would consume on a daily bases. You wanted to know, you wanted to know everything about him – was his hair natural or died, why did his twin brother break in? All these questions could be answered if he would just look at you.
His cold gaze, that’s all you can re-call; well you can also hear his words – the sharpness in his voice as you had interrupted him one too many times. Why couldn’t you understand? He just wanted to keep you safe, he was pushing you away to try and give you some sort of normal life – his heart was screaming your name and yet he ignored it in hopes that once this was over, after the party you would return to normal life and forget all about him, forget the danger he had put you in with his brother. He needed you too leave him alone, to pretend that he didn’t exist to make this easier on the both of you.
You had been too kind to him, you had brought him food and water – when he fell asleep you draped a blanket over his shoulders to protect him from the cold (and little did you know it also protected him from his nightmares, the scent of you radiating from the blanket gave him a safe feeling, you smelt like home). You had done everything humanly possible to keep him happy so you couldn’t understand why he was so mad, why his eyes showed nothing but fear as he glared down at you, his fists clenched.
“Please, Seven, I love you!!”
This made him chuckle, not the chuckle you had heard over the phone many times before, no a darker one – one full of disbelief and anger. How? How dare you say you love him, you had only known him for 8 days and here you were trying to convince him to stay, to love you back – he couldn’t help but laugh, if you knew that he did love you too you both would be in danger, your life would be taken by the agency in a heartbeat so he did the only thing he could think of right then, he pushed you away.
“I love you? That’s just 3 words, they mean nothing to me – they’ve been used too much. I hope your love turns to dust”
Those words, you remember them so well – and he too remembers something from that day. He remembers the sounds of your sobs and he left the apartment. Your crying, the sound replays in his mind every night as he tried to fight off the guilt, I mean he did it for you right? To keep you safe? The sound of your sobs, more often than not mixed with the sounds of his sobs and his heart broke more and more.

707 | Mischief
27. “C’mon, I don’t bite. Not unless you want me to, that is.”
Summary: Simply put, Saeyoung is a tease.
Genres/Tags: Fluff, Attempt at Humour, Jihyun is Still Alive, Not Super Important but Still, Reader is Low-Key a Tsundere, Which Did Not Happen on Purpose I Swear
Warnings: None, unless a probably-OOC Saeyoung counts. (Sorry; I tried.) Oh, and very mild swearing.
Word Count: 3.7k
Notes: Be gentle plz lol. This isn’t my first time writing, not by a long shot, but it’s the first Mystic Messenger fanfic I’ve been able to complete, and I only started writing them within the last month. Also, not so sure about how this ended, kinda like it, kinda don’t... Anyways, constructive criticism is welcomed!
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
You were hesitant, to say the least. Everything about this spelled trouble.
More often than not, you and Saeyoung were partners in crime, tricking and teasing and pulling pranks on your friends – and each other, of course, though that was less common. It was harder to catch one another completely off guard, what with your dispositions and skill sets. Not that it hindered either of you in teasing the other; it was only a hindrance in regards to tricks.
One thing that always gave Saeyoung away was a certain glint in his honey yellow eyes. It was always there, visible to you, no matter who he was messing with or how he was messing with them. The only time it changed – although you could have just imagined it was different – was when you were the victim of his teasing. As if he enjoyed it a little more than he did with anyone else; as if your reactions were more of a reward than anyone else’s.
You honestly would not be surprised.
Presently, impish light danced among his golden hues. Suppressed excitement revealed itself to you within those pools of molten yellow. The eyes were, supposedly, the windows to the soul. For you, they were glass doors. If you stared hard enough, long enough, you could almost read his very thoughts.
And, at this moment, as he held his hand out and smiled invitingly, his eyes told you all you needed to know.
You folded your arms and squinted skeptically at him.
Saeyoung feigned a small pout. “What’s with the look? I just wanna show you something I found~.”
“You’re up to something,” you said. “I can tell.”
He lowered his arm, stuffed both hands in his pants pockets. He moved closer until a mere foot remained between the two of you. This time, he did not bother hiding his smirk. “What’s the matter, babe? You don’t trust me?”
His gaze bore into yours. You forced yourself to hold steady, to refrain from looking away. Your heart was fluttering already, and you felt a hint of warmth dusting your ears, but you reminded yourself to stand your ground. You got this. Don’t let him win.
“Not right now, I don’t.” You cocked your head to the side just a bit, confidence seeping into your countenance. “You know I can see everything in your eyes.”
Okay, you couldn’t see everything, but it came rather close at times. Back at Rika’s apartment, however, it had been quite the opposite. That first time meeting him, so many months ago, he had been shockingly impossible to read. Any signs you did grasp were vague and abstract, but you clutched them desperately, for they swiftly became your lifeline, your base evidence that the cold exterior of “Luciel” was not his true self, no matter how fervently he tried to claim otherwise.
He was more of a challenge than anyone you had ever met. A challenge – that’s what you took it as. People like Zen and Yoosung and Jaehee and even Jihyun were easy to read. Rika, too, had been easy to read. You hated it, though. One look in those emerald green orbs left you cold and uneasy. Even now, despite the help she was receiving, you still avoided eye contact. You were not a fan of feeling empty and sorrowful.
Saeran, similarly, was rather easy when you first encountered him, with the main difficulty being the conflict and turmoil and intensity and malice swirling in a whirlwind of altered pigment. Now, as he slowly recovered, you found it easier by the day to look into those striking mint blue eyes and smile rather than flinch.
Jumin only posed a slight challenge because there often wasn’t much to read. You were left to blindly feel around the empty space between his surface layers and the troubles he ignored so expertly, the conflict he buried so deeply. That was all you could make out, an inexplicit idea that there was something more, something Jumin himself deemed so constant and unimportant that you wondered if he even truly realized what it was. But on that, you could only speculate. You doubted you would have another moment with him that allowed such emotion to shine through. You didn’t want another moment, not if it meant another life-altering injury inflicted upon someone close to him.
As for Saeyoung, his agency training, his many walls, his desperation to push you away from the dangerous life he led – each factor added to the challenge, fortified the barrier around his mind, turned his eyes into either such an icy and impenetrable surface that you could only flinch away, or such a discordant battlefield of emotion that it was far too overwhelming to pick apart.
The hours had felt like days. So much happened in so little time. But your determination, your stubbornness, rivalled his and, in the end, won out. Day by day, hour by hour, you scrutinized, explored, and deciphered those sad, tired, beautiful eyes of his. You pieced together the swirling emotion, made sense of all his contradictions.
By now, you could read him better than anyone. The promise of transparency as life partners had nothing to do with it; knowing someone for close to a year, and knowing them so deeply and profoundly – and reaching such depth within the first month of meeting them – would allow anyone such a high level of understanding.
Saeyoung could still employ his learned skill and actively block you out to whatever degree he wished, and whenever he wished. Even so, it never concealed him one hundred percent, and it wasn’t often at all that he did it seriously. Most of them time, he used it like he had just attempted – to hide mischievous intent.
Evidently, whatever he wanted to show you, or whatever he expected your ultimate reaction to be, excited him immensely, for it shone right through the shaky, half-hearted barrier. That, or you were getting better at seeing through him. Perhaps it was both. Either way, it was cause for caution on your part. You did not budge, did not let discomfiture rule, even as he gazed down at you with that sly, relaxed smirk.
“Everything?” he echoed. “You can see everything? Then, can you see what I had in mind?” He leaned a little closer.
Praying he wouldn’t notice your nervous (and hopefully subtle) gulp, you read his mien again, a few times over. Besides the loosened suppression, nothing had changed. “Not specifically,” you answered at last. “But you wanted to pull something on me. This isn’t anything innocent like you tried to play it as. I know you, Saeyoung Choi. You’ll probably show me some, I dunno, weird rock formation by the shoreline, only to sneak up and freak me out with that disgusting seaweed stuff.” You shuddered and made a face.
Saeyoung laughed lightly. “You’re adorable. You know, that’s not a bad idea…”
Your eyes narrowed again. “Don’t you dare.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll save it for next time.”
“Do that, and see what happens. See what happens, Saeyoung.”
“Ooh, sounds exciting~.”
You hated how much you loved that cheeky grin.
You huffed to repress a smile. “Anyways, let’s just go back to the site. You’re not gonna fool me on this one.”
“Nope, I’ve got something to show you.” A step forward put him almost chest-to-chest with you. Your breath hitched quietly. “And I really want to show you.” That damned smirk. “You’re not getting out of this one, honey~,” he sang.
The proximity, his half-lidded gaze, his soft voice. You faltered. It was too much. The all-too familiar heat of embarrassment swept over your skin, pooling around your face and neck. Your thoughts scattered, breaking your concentration and undermining your efforts to not let him get to you. You staggered back a few feet, stammering and mumbling incoherently, unable to form proper words.
Saeyoung chuckled, a sound that always made your heart beat a little faster, a sound that presently did twice that. You fell silent as you glared indignantly at the large, generally uneven rocks beneath and around you. You toyed with the hem of your sleeveless shirt and attempted to calm your flurry of thoughts.
“You’re so cute,” Saeyoung cooed as he approached you again. “I did nothing at all and you’re already so red? We’ve been together for, what, ten months? Hm?” He stopped less than a foot away, posture still casual, expression still brimming with that vaguely sadistic excitement. “Do you have a crush on me or something? How embarrassing~.”
“Idiot,” you mumbled, reaching out to give his arm a weak shove. “Don’t be dumb.” Your mind was too messy to say anything of value.
Of course, it was still enough to egg him on.
“My, my, if you’re this flustered over me standing this close, maybe you wouldn’t be able to handle what I had planned after all.”
Your head shot up; eyes wide, blush renewed. Saeyoung grinned wolfishly. You did have something planned! you wanted to exclaim. I was right! You sneaky little… Saeyoung.
The words never made it past your lips, but it seemed your expression did the work for you.
“Mm-hm~. Guess I can’t hide these things from you, hm?” He stepped impossibly close, placing his foot between yours, forcing you to move in the same direction.
Your back hit something hard. You stole a glimpse over your shoulder. Grey-brown, wind-washed stone.
Oh no.
Saeyoung’s hands remained in his pockets, and once again he stood way too close for you to be able to concentrate. You stared up at him with widened eyes. The light, salty breeze shifted his vermillion locks. Your heart would burst any minute, you were sure of it.
Amusement sparkled in his eyes. He let out a small hum and started away. “Come on.”
…Huh?
You blinked a few times.
A few yards away already, he looked back at you. “What’re you hanging around for? C’mere.”
You swallowed, inhaled deeply, and pushed off the rocky wall. Saeyoung held out his hand again as you neared. You eyed it warily, eliciting from him a small laugh.
“Come on~ I won’t bite.”
With a roll of the eyes and a scoff of slight amusement, both directed at yourself, you grasped his hand and fell into stride beside him. As you walked, he pulled you close and leaned down to murmur in your ear:
“Not unless you want me to, that is.”
The teasing lilt in his soft voice, his breath fanning down your neck— His teeth grazed the top of your ear just then. With a squeak, you jolted away; your face felt like it could fry an egg. Too much! your mind warned. Can’t take it!
Saeyoung laughed, tugging you to him again. “Aw, c’mere, you cutie.”
“You’re such an asshole sometimes,” you whined as he hugged you from behind and nestled his chin on your shoulder.
“Aww, don’t be so rude, babe~.” He nuzzled your flaming cheek. “I can’t resist messing with you. You’re just too adorable, you know.”
The familiarity of his embrace brought about a sense of comfort that quickly superseded the embarrassment and considerably diminished the intensity of your flustered state. All that remained was a dusting of pink, a faint buzz of warmth on your cheeks. You felt your body relax against his.
“Well,” you started softly, “I guess I know how you feel.” You couldn’t withhold a smile at the mental image of Saeyoung’s bright red face. You almost missed the earlier days, if only for how often you got to witness his face blend in with his hair.
“What are you smiling about, cutie?”
“Oh, just picturing how red you always got back when you were being tsundere.” You cracked a grin.
He let out something akin to a low whine. “I wasn’t- ‘being tsundere.’ I was… I was holding back.”
“Uh-huh, but you were tsundere about it. ‘Oh, I just randomly decided to make three different sandwiches even though I’ve been very opposed to eating anything since I got here, and you can have any one of them but I totally did not make them for you, not at all.’” You turned your head to view his flushed face. “Aw, look at that, you’re blushing~.”
He side-eyed you. His lips curled into a smirk, and then they were on yours. Your surprise was only brief; you were swift to reciprocate.
Too soon did he pull away and plant a kiss on your soft cheek; too soon did he release your waist and grab your hand instead. You already missed his direct warmth, but you were happy to at least hold his hand. That grin of his returned, a puckish mien, and he pulled you along, led you across the large wind- and sand-eroded rocks, towards whatever it was he wanted to show you.
You passed through a more populated spot before the number of nearby people dwindled to absolute zero. As you climbed higher, you began to wonder, again, what it is he found. Perhaps another alcove (he knew you loved those), or somewhere that overlooked the beach, a nice view; your thoughts focused on locations rather than objects.
Saeyoung veered off from the rising cliff, down a shallow slope, and around the base of the incline, where a wide path was carved into the cliffside. The front neared; the stone wall dipped inward; the path expanded.
It appeared your brainstorming produced some accurate assumptions. The shaded alcove yielded pleasantly cool stone and the high vantage point offered a great view of the crashing waves, the scattered specks of people, the gently swaying leaves, the cloud-packed sky. (Cloudy days, when it came to beaches, usually meant less people, which you easily counted as a win.)
The perfect spot: secluded, lower temperatures, a sweet view.
You recalled Saeyoung’s eyes then, that playful glint. Your brows knit together. With a place like this, just what was he planning? You looked up at him, and the soft smile he sent you, with those half-lidded eyes, was enough to revive your earlier blush.
“What do you think?” he asked.
You redirected your attention to the beach below. “It— I- um… Yeah. I, I like it.” Your fidgety fingers tapped his hand without rhythm. He squeezed yours in return, and somehow- somehow- that flustered you further. You stilled your movements. “It’s… it’s nice.”
“I thought you might like it.” He led you a safe distance from the edge. “Here, let’s sit down.”
He sat first on the smooth stone. A gentle, directed tug on your hand was a silent request. Ears hot, you pinned your lower lip between your teeth and carefully sat between his legs. Saeyoung immediately wrapped his arms around your waist and held you close. You giggled softly at his enthusiasm and shut your eyes, relishing in the chill of the stone beneath you, the feel of the cool breeze, the rhythmic rumble of ocean waves, the hint of salt in the otherwise clean air, Saeyoung’s presence, his warmth, his familiar scent. The moment of tranquility made you rather sleepy.
“I love you,” you heard yourself mumble.
Saeyoung tightened his grip, burying his nose in the crook of your shoulder. “I love you, too. So, so much.”
You opened your eyes, fighting off the lure of sleep, and nudged his head with yours as some form of vague affection. “This is a really nice spot,” you murmured. “Thanks.”
“I know you don’t like being around too many people.” His voice was equally soft. “But… I probably should’ve grabbed a towel first.”
You hummed out a laugh as he chuckled. “Yeah, this rock isn’t very forgiving. Mh… Next time.”
“Next time,” he agreed, and planted a tired kiss on your bare shoulder.
You exhaled and closed your eyes again, leaning your head back to rest against him. You would easily subject yourself to some physical discomfort if it meant Saeyoung would hold you like this forever. You always felt so safe around him, in every sense of the word. You were protected, cared for, appreciated, loved.
You shivered against the icy wind. Shifting in his grasp, you pressed one bare arm against the warmth of his black tank top.
He rubbed your exposed arm. “You cold?”
“A bit.”
His arms moved up from your waist, pinning your upper arms to your torso as he, the walking space heater he was, shielded you from the cold as best he could. You could feel both the heat of his skin and the outline of his muscles. Blushing a little, you pressed the side of your face to his chest, keeping your expression out of his view. You focused instead on your restless hand, watched it play with the hem of Saeyoung’s shirt for a few silent minutes.
Then—
“If you wanted my shirt off, you could’ve just asked.”
You froze, an ungodly level of mortification shooting through your veins. “N-n- no- no, n-no... no!” You snatched your hand to your chest and dropped your head further. “So-sorry. I was- I was just— I didn’t- realize...”
His resulting giggle made your heart do backflips. “Awww, she’s embarrassed.” He squeezed you before pecking your temple. “I’m just teasing you~.”
“Jerk,” you mumbled. You lifted your head just a bit, eyeing the grey rock stretched out before you. “What’s... what’s this even leading up to, anyways?”
A pause. “What do you mean?”
You looked at him, a bit incredulous. “Your eyes screamed mischief back there. But we get here, and it’s... well, normal. You haven’t done anything yet. Hah, to be honest, it’s making me a little nervous.”
“Ohh. I see.” He snickered. “You call all that nothing?”
You blinked. “All... what?”
“All my teasing.”
You furrowed your brow. Before you could ponder his words, Saeyoung kissed your forehead and pulled back with a soft grin. “You’re too adorable, [Name].”
Cheeks tinted pink, you stuck your tongue out at him. His eyes shined playfully. “Careful~ I might misinterpret that on purpose.”
Your expression fell to a pout. “Pervert.”
He gawked. “Pervert? Aw, aren’t you being a little cruel to your beloved boyfriend?”
A small, shark-like grin spread across your face. “Not at all.”
It was his turn to pout. You took the opportunity to lean up and peck his pursed lips. His face lit up immediately and he tried to initiate another kiss, but you turned away with a coy smile. He tilted his head and tried again, but once more you evaded him, giggling like a schoolgirl. Saeyoung narrowed his eyes. “Playing hard to get, are we?”
“Mmm-hmm~.” A smug smile accompanied the drawn-out affirmation. “Ya gotta work hard for a prize like me.”
He kissed your cheek and lingered as he spoke, lips brushing your skin. “Then I’ll work every day for the rest of my life.” He kissed your cheek again, this time closer to your eye.
You giggled again, reaching up to loosely grasp his forearms. “Doing what, exactly?”
A kiss to your forehead. “Winning your heart, of course.”
That was so stupidly cheesy. I love it.
Saeyoung littered a few more kisses around your face before finally stealing a quick one from your lips. He pulled back with a grin and you scrutinized his mien, squinting teasingly.
“Sneaky bastard. You’re up to something, I swear.”
“Who, me? Of course not. Can’t I have some alone time with the love of my life?”
“I said it before – you totally had something planned earlier. It was written all over your face!”
“Nope,” he chirped. “No plans. I was winging it.”
I... hUH? I’m so lost.
Oh- OH! Wait- no, maybe not...
But... hmm...
You spoke up hesitantly. “The... the ‘plan’— Er, the ‘something’ that you were up to... That was just... teasing me?”
“Bingo~.”
You peered up at him, still a little puzzled. “From the start, though? You said no plans, but you looked like you had something in mind from the moment you ap...proached me... Wait.” You thought back, trying to remember what exactly you had gleaned from his expression. Had it actually been directed at you this whole time? You hadn’t really taken too close of a look... It was possible you had misinterpreted what you saw.
He came over to me... from where everyone had their stuff. And before that, wasn’t he holding something? As he went over there?
“Yoosung,” you blurted. “You did something to Yoosung, didn’t you? To his stuff, at least.”
His grin was your answer.
You clicked your tongue. “Saeyoung Choi, I can’t believe you pranked him without me. I’m disappointed in you.”
“Aw~ don’t be like that~. I was going to tell you, but I was distracted by your beauty.”
“Uh-huh.” You flicked his arm. “Sure, babe.”
“You don’t believe me?”
You thought about it for a moment. “I don’t believe you could be distracted by my ‘beauty,’ but I can believe you meant to tell me and were distracted by something else.”
A somewhat unnerving silence met your response. The playful atmosphere evaporated in seconds. Then, you found his hand on your cheek, nudging your face up so he could meet your gaze.
“You... you don’t mean that,” he whispered, his eyes pleading.
No, you really didn’t. “It was just— It was habit,” you assured him quietly. “It’s still weird to hear that so often... At all, really.”
He rested his forehead against yours. “Well, get used to it. I’m never going to stop complimenting you.” He cracked a small smile, which you mirrored.
“Whatever you say, handsome.”
His cheeks reddened. Success.
“I see how it is,” he jested.
“Mm-hm,” you hummed through your cheeky smile.
He stole a brief kiss – leaving you instantly red – before leaning back with a smirk. Maintaining eye contact with you, Saeyoung removed his glasses and set them aside. Your heart stuttered and the heat crawling under your skin intensified. Saeyoung drew close again and cupped your burning cheek, his confident expression unchanging.
“I think I should make sure –” his thumb skimmed over your lips – “that you really know just how I see you, hm?”
Breath stolen – by his actions, by his words, by how damn gorgeous this man was – you could only respond with a lingering glance at his own lips. His thumb retreated and his mouth brushed yours in its place. You could feel his smirk, just a centimetre away.
“Good girl,” he whispered.
He sealed the gap.

Omg ajdbahdhshdh now I can't stop thinking about the hair dye thingy-
I like to imagine Saeyoung just dyeing his hair red and Saeran just lets him do it for him sbdbahdajdj I might write something like this I JUST HAVE SO MANY CHOI TWIN SCENARIOS AND I WANNA WRITE THEM ALL IT H U R T S
I also like to think the Choi twins bond over small stuff constantly haha, I also can't stop thinking about the RFA bonding with Saeran too like.. imagine!! Saeran warming up slowly would make me so damn happy, he deserves the whole world and so much more 😭✋
I'ma stop here before I ramble for whole ass days about this because I have so many scenarios SJDBAJDBJADBANDBSJDHSHSB
NO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO RAMBLE FOR MONTHS I COULD TALK ABOUT THE TWINS FOR YEARS I LOVE THEM
ALSO I LOVE THE IDEA OF SAEYOUNG DOING IT i think it would show a level of trust,,
I LOVE THAT THEY HAVE THAT TRIP TOGETHER AND SAEYOUNG GOT SAERAN A PENGUIN EVEN THOUGH HE SAID NO (AND GOT ONE FOR HIMSELF SO THEY MATCH)
look how cute, them on a zoo trip <3 its so nice that they now get to do all things they wanted to growing up but couldn't
Tumblr media
i like to think the RFA played board games and stuff, and yoosung often loses and saeyoung often wins (or its jumin vs zen when it comes to monopoly)
saeran has never played. maybe he found a pack of cards in the cathedral and rika got v and him to play. maybe he finds one in the mint eye and plays solitaire, or with you. but otherwise he doesnt play card games or board games really.
saeyoung is all "dont worry little brother ill go easy on you"
anyways 6 games of uno later and yoosung is patting a (fake) sobbing saeyoung because saeran beat him in every round and has now decided he likes this game,,
it kind of makes me sad in the after end where it seems like no one really knows where you and the twins are,, i like to think thst maybe after a bit at least saeyoung comes back and then slowly encourages saeran to,, i get saeran doesnt really know them, but saeyoung does so i do like to think everyone bonds - it might just take a while after the twins begin to fix their own relationship if that makes sense?? i dunno,, i like that in saeyoungs after end everyone was together (but v </3)

Heya! Thank you for your request and your patience! I beg you for pardon, I will only write the RFA but if you want to have the Minor Trio, be free to request it again! For the future too, I will write an extra post about it, I will only write for the RFA OR the Minor Trio. The reason is, that it has been to much lately and probably you also noticed that I‘m not that active anymore. Maybe, one day I will write more again but for now I can’t. And for those, who wonder why I don’t let you decide the members till an amount: imagine 20 people ask you to write a Hc with eight different people in a different order - there would be too much chaos in my Masterlist. I hope you all can understand ❤️ Now, the story 😂
Tumblr media
Jumin
Your husband knew that you, his wife, was an amazing person who could do so much.
You made him feel special feelings and showed him so many common things, but now you even showed him new hobbies.
He loved to read your work as a popular manhwa author and he supported you, like always.  He loved seeing the stars in your eyes.
You got your own room with enough daylight with the best asistans, one of them was also Yoosung, and someone who could check the copyrights on the web, in other words, Seven.
,,My wife is working so hard… Mc, know that I am your number one fan!’’ Jumin once told you and kissed your forehead.
,,Thank you for your support… I just needed this. You gave me a new idea!’’ you laughed and took your pen again.
Although there were days when you didn’t even get out of your room because the deadlines were so stressful, Jumin knew that you gave your best and supported you with little things like a five star master chef from France with the best desserts from south italy and fresh water from the mountains…
Zen
,,NO!’’ you hissed at Zen’s Company Manager, threw the plan across the room, making the papers fly in the air.
,,I am the author of this Manwha and I have the upper hand. Besides, I am Zen’s manager. You gave me this job and I’ve decided that Zen will be the main lead in my story!’’ you argued.
,,I AM THE ONE WHO GAVE YOU THE JOB! I CAN FIRE YOU TOO!’’ he hissed.
,,Okay! Do it! But you will miss my money. I’m not sure if you really want to fire me, but do it!’’ you laughed and crossed your arms.
,,Okay, do whatever you want. Give Zen the job, but just go away...I don’t want to see you anymore,’’ he sighed and turned around.
And once again, you won a bet.
,,Princess, did everything go alright?’’ Zen asked you concerned.
You wrote a story for almost three years now and did your best to make the character of your story fit Zen’s behavior.
And after a lot of people wanted to make a drama out of it, you finally felt as if you had an opening for your boyfriend.
Luckily, you could win against your boss, who almost made it impossible.
,,Of course, I told you that you had the job!’’ you laughed.
,,Okay, then let’s practice!’’ Zen smiled.
And so you guys practiced, just like he wanted the scene where he and the woman from another dimension were getting intimate...
Yoosung
Yoosung felt as if he was on cloud nine.
What could he have wanted more than to go to a convention with his girlfriend?
To take part of it in cosplay and have so much fun?
Okay, maybe that you were by his side, but he could also manage to watch you from afar while you gave tons of fans signatures on their manhwas and fan merch they got from your own shop.
And it was okay, because as long as you were happy, he was happy too.
Yoosung decided to use the time you were working to look around the convention and once again noticed how famous you were. The line just to talk to you for five minutes was extremely long and everywhere pictures of you were hanging from the roof.
,,The best author of the most known manhwas is here’’ the posters said.
And indeed you were the best author.
You already wrote tons of stories in your manhwas with different genres which were loved by everyone and Yoosung Kim was your husband...
Jaehee
When Jaehee asked you to open the coffee shop with her, she still didn’t know that you were a very famous manhwa author.
But she found out after tons of informed fans found out that you would open a coffee shop.
Both of you thought about it for a long time and finally came to the conclusion that you should open a big shop with two concepts.
Your concept and her concept.
,,Hey, nice to meet you guys! Thanks for coming!’’ you thanked your fans and normal guests.
,,Well, neither of us expected there to be so many people so please take turns. I will shortly explain how our shop works!
On the left side is a normal coffee shop and on the right side of my shop is where I will work, read the latest chapters with you, and hold a fan meeting. The coffee, as well as the cakes, are in the middle of both rooms,’’ you explained.
And indeed, the shop was successful for a very long time.
,,I am so happy that the both of us found a way to solve this,’’ Jaehee whispered later in the evening after a lot of hesitating.
,,I am the most creative after all,’’ you teased her and hugged her
Saeyoung
There was no way that you could hide something like that from him.
Saeyoung was already a fan of you and kind of a stalker, so of course he knew you.
,,That’s why I was so concerned and went to you in Rika’s apartment. I didn’t want you to be in danger because I needed to know how the manhwa goes on in Chapter 52!’’ he teased you, making you throw a pillow at his head.
,,And since you made such a tasteless joke, I will kill your character I gave you in the story after you begged me!’’ you hissed, of course teasing him too.
,,WHAT?!’’ he began to sob.
,,It isn’t simple with two crazy asses and workaholics,’’ Saeran sighed and looked away.
On some days, the both of you were extremely hyperactive, going out, searching for new ideas, or just having fun was a part of you guys, but at other times, both of you just stayed separate in your rooms, not eating or sleeping, but just working.
And even though Saeran hated to admit it, he hated those lonely days. But since he was so proud of you guys, he didn’t dare to say anything...

Thoughts on Higurashi Sotsu Ep5
This week on Higurashi Sotsu, we witness the most irredeemable of all crimes:
A little girl pushes over someone’s pot of curry.
Thoughts under the cut.
On the one hand, the actual answers for this arc have ended up being way more straightforward than I expected after how unclear a lot of it felt back in the question arcs, but on the other hand it’s probably a good thing that they’re not doing anything convoluted with this when they’re already doing this a lot faster than they probably should, lol.
I’ve said it a lot of times before, but the fact that they’re spending so much time on stuff that comes across as unnecessary and predictable still feels like proof that they actually meant it when they said that this is meant to be accessible to new fans. I think the execution is kinda clunky and they probably should have committed entirely to it being a sequel, but they’re clearly trying to spend time on stuff that wouldn’t necessarily be obvious to people who haven’t read the VN.
Although even then, this episode kinda highlights how the new series hasn’t really gone into Shion’s entire backstory or character arc at all, which isn’t necessarily gonna stop new fans from understanding what’s going on here, but it does make her feel a lot more unimportant as a character, and the narrative themes and parallels set up in this episode don’t come across to the new fans who don’t know how Watanagashi and Meakashi went the first time around.
Anyway, the gist of this answer arc is basically that Mion was indeed the culprit this time, and killed basically everyone. It’s not very surprising at this point, but it’s really neat to actually see what it looks like for Mion to succumb to the syndrome. It feels very different to how basically everyone else handles it, since she’s way more cold and calculated about things, and has more self-awareness of her actions. The dramatic irony of how she didn’t even want to kill Shion and just got carried away in a moment of anger was cool, and on a related note it’s kinda funny in a morbid way to imagine that she probably killed Oryo with the taser without realizing it as well. I think something similar happened in the VN where Oryo dies before Shion can actually torture her for information.
Which reminds me that this is all making it really clear how foggy my memories of the original Watanagashi and Meakashi arcs are, lol. I was hoping to reread the VN when Gou started so I could compare them properly, but that got derailed by my laziness and real-life stuff coming up, so now I don’t really remember enough to confidently compare how this went to those arcs. From what I do remember, though, this feels like a bit of a reversal of how those arcs went, where this time Mion wins her confrontation with Shion and goes on to kill everyone else.
There’s still one more episode left, but the next episode is probably going to show that Mion killed Kimiyoshi after Oryo, then probably killed Rika after watching her rant at Keiichi, then Satoko will go off to confront Mion at the mansion and they’ll both end up dead. I’m still not entirely confident about why Satoko would bother going there in the first place, but my best guess is that she wanted to confirm what Mion had done, especially if she ends up not being sure about whether or not Rika’s dead if she didn’t witness Mion killing her.
Speaking of Satoko, we also got to see how even after the injection [or however she managed to drug Mion], she had to keep monitoring her and pushing her buttons to try and get her on the track to paranoia, since at least at first she seemed to be completely normal. Mion still ended up going L5 anyway, but it makes me hope that the next arc will go even further with having Satoko’s plans mess up.
Also, from what I’ve seen people say, the curry competition scene was actually very similar to the VN, except Satoko used more indirect methods of messing with everyone’s curry. I think this was actually pretty in line with how ruthless the club members can get, and how tolerant they are of blatant cheating, but it’s kinda funny seeing people get way more mad about it now than they ever would have before, lol. There’s also something funny about Satoko clearly just not giving a shit about subtlety anymore and just knocking stuff over and messing with their curry right in their faces. I think in her own way, Satoko’s getting kinda tired of all the looping [like in the last episode where she seemed bored of the card game], and her restraint is slipping.
In a lot of ways they seem to be setting up this idea of Satoko being careless and risky with her actions, and it makes me wonder if that’ll play into the next arc or two, and how Rika might end up ‘winning’ against her. But we’ll see.
It’ll be a little while before we actually get to the next arc, but it’s probably still the one I’m most excited for. For one thing it’s gonna be five episodes long so even if it also covers Nekodamashi I don’t think it’ll feel quite as fast-paced as these first two arcs have, and I feel like seeing Tataridamashi from Satoko’s perspective would feel much more different to what’s been going on in these arcs. There’s also be less competition between ‘the Satoko stuff’ and ‘the answer arc culprit POV stuff’ in the next arc since Satoko herself is basically the culprit of Tataridamashi.
I at least hope that the next arc is where Satoko’s plans really start messing up, and she starts doubting herself. For one thing it’d be a little boring to have all the answer arcs go in the same sorta way with her doing exactly what she sets out to do, but if they’re setting up for any sort of redemption for her, something along those lines is going to have to happen eventually.
Maybe I’m just giving her too much credit, but I like the idea that maybe her resolve wavered and she ended up wanting to stay in that fragment, but Ooishi went L5 all on his own and fucked things up. Probably because of something like him getting into contact with Teppei and realizing that [in that arc] he hadn’t actually done anything to Satoko, which would fuel his paranoia about the village engaging in witch hunts. I think it’s at least safe to assume that Teppei really did attack Keiichi at the end of the arc, after how the fight between Keiichi and Rena ended up not having any tricks or misdirection to it, so Teppei probably became convinced that the village was just out to get him.
But anyway we’ll get to that when we get to that, lol.

[Read On AO3]
Cowboy Universe in order: [Wildflowers] [Cereus] [Andromeda] [Wren]
Chapter 5
It was a small wedding ceremony.
A private and respectful affair that was expected of their religion. Still, it felt like the best day of her life when she saw her reflection in a pool of water before she found his hand at the altar. He made it a day filled with love. Sure, there was no way to put a label on the top of love that they held for each other as it was.
But, it didn’t matter. She loved him and he loved her and that was all the world needed to know about the two of them.
It wasn't anybody else's business what happened between the two of them. The Eyes Of God knew what they felt for each other, anyway.
But, it was taken care of, then and there. With Jihyun’s best friend as a witness to their love, they were married at the local church with relative ease. It’d only taken a week to square away all the details after Jihyun paid off her parents. She didn't think that he would go that far for them, but he did it anyway. He said that it was the only way to make sure that they wouldn't come around again. He was a man of money, and he didn't mind using that money for the right reason. He didn't want her to think that he had bought her from them.
No, he whispered in her ear right before they kissed in the church that he’d bought her freedom from her parents. It was the most liberating kiss she’d ever experienced in her entire life. With his lips, she'd been freed from everything she was afraid of since the moment she was adopted. How could she not be happy with how much he’d done for her sake?
Even if her heart would always be haunted by demons, she would never be the same person she was before she married him.
In some ways, she knew she was lucky. It was an honor to be able to be free. It was something she never imagined for herself but now it was everything she could have ever dreamed of and more. True to every promise he made, nothing changed between them that she wasn’t okay with. If she wanted to be more than friends, he would gladly take her into his arms. But, he promised her that their marriage was for a world of safety. She could have anything she wanted as long as people knew she was his wife.
She thought that it might disrupt the workflow that they had created, but it hadn't done that in the slightest. Even the male patrons that were fond of her weren’t upset. No, plenty of them said it became a challenge to win her over, now. A lot of them appreciated the thrill of the chase and even if she didn't want to go with any of them, it still helped the bar to let them imagine as they wanted. She wasn't upset with any of it.
Any disgusting comments that would happen would never be able to touch her now. People could say or do whatever they wanted, but at the end of the day, she would be home with a man that wanted to keep her safe. She wouldn't take that for granted. It was just one of those things, you know? She had been taught to believe in giving back whenever she was given something, and she wanted to make sure that she was the best wife she could be.
Even if he said she could never be a bad wife, she was determined to be the best. She could keep house and home! She could assuredly take care of her performances, too. He could continue to take care of everything he needed to and she would run everything on the side. It was a situation where they both could win. All in all, it was turning out to be a better life than she expected.
From the minute he had found her withering in the desert, she never expected her life would become something beautiful. It was better than a dream. She couldn't dream of something like this. That's how she knew that she wasn't living in a dream. Her dreams were nothing but nightmares every step of the way. She’d never have a dream like that. So, she had to be living in the real world if her dreams could never be something like this.
She could truly live a life better than the one she'd been given and she was going to make the best of it no matter what happened. Sure, she knew that things weren't always going to be easy going forward, but it was never going to be what it was before she met him. Every step of the way was going to be a little bit easier. That's why it was so easy to stand on that stage when she knew that his eyes would be watching her. As long as he was her partner, she knew things would be okay.
With a smile on her face, she struck a pose on the stage and waited for the curtains to rise. This show was going to grow from where it was today. There were plans in the back of her mind to make a change that would be better than the one she made the day before. But, to do so, she needed to put on a brave face that knew no fear. Even if she was haunted in the dead of night, she could smile on that stage and be everything she needed to be.
No matter what happened, no matter what people said, and no matter what stood in her way, she was going to make sure anybody like her who walked into this place could find salvation.
It would start with dragging her baby cousin from the den of depression she’d heard he was in. Even if she never wanted to see her adopted parents again, she knew she wanted to know her cousin and that family since they lived in this town and wondered if they’d ever met her in the first place. She had some plans to help him the same way Jihyun helped her… she would give her hand to him at the lowest he’d ever been and give him shelter in the saloon.
Her motivation in life was to make a difference. If somebody like her could be saved from the desert heat just because a man wanted to do something good, she could extend her hand to Yoosung when everything felt pointless. He might’ve lost his sight, but she knew where he could find himself again. The world around her was starting to open up simply because she had chosen to run away to protect her heart, and it was the right choice to make.
She wasn't confined to prison anymore. No longer would she be made to believe that she didn't have family or friends that wanted to know her. Nobody could make her believe a lie any more in the name of God. Some people wanted to know her and get close to her out of genuine curiosity. She was going to take them up on that offer. A year ago, she didn't know that she had a cousin or family to speak of. Her adoptive parents made her believe that there was nobody out there but them. But, thanks to Jihyun, she knew better!
Even if she would never be perfect, she would be able to make a difference in the lives of people around her to show that her life was worth the freedom she'd been given. With the sunshine on her face from the light overhead, she began to sing a melody of freedom from the chains that had been yanked away from her hands and ankles by a man with eyes as blue as the skies.
 “       ♫ I hitched a ride with the wind
And since he was my friend
I just let him decide where we’d go
     When a flower grows wild
     It can always survive
Wildflowers don’t care where they grow. ♫ ”
     —
They say she shined brighter than the sun itself when she was on that stage. It was like the world came to a standstill when her energetic smile filled the little saloon. Rika Kim was more than meets the eye, and she was an oasis in the center of the driest desert. But, to Jihyun Kim, she was more than that. She was someone who desperately wanted a place to belong.
She was someone who stumbled into his open arms and needed help that only he could give.
He knew that from the second her fingers clung to his worn coat that evening when terror flashed in her eyes and she pleaded with him— pleaded that he protect her what she was running from—there was nothing more he could do but try to do something. Call it his fatal flaw, but what he wanted to do more than anything else in this world was protect people in need. Even if that meant he had to get his hands dirty to do so. She was the first person he had encountered that reminded him of his mother and he couldn't leave her alone.
He knew that fear in her eyes because it was the fear he felt that day when he lost his mother and he saw the glint of something more in his father’s eyes just for a second before he let go again as he always had. The fear of knowing that you held no control over your life and someone else could decide your fate no matter how hard you cried. It was something you could either resign yourself to and accept as truth or you could fight against it. Only a fool would choose the latter option. But, nobody ever said he was the smartest man in the world.
That desperation would drive someone to be willing to do anything to avoid that happening again. In the west, that meant that sooner or later, someone would take control of you eventually once again. It was only a matter of making the wrong choice as soon as you escaped the monster that consumed you. They were all victims when it came down to human sins… but some were worse off than others. There was only one way to get out of it and that required having power of your own.
If you didn't have any power, you were trapped in the system.
Even if he prided himself on trying to do the best for others, that didn't mean that he was the best. The world was filled to the brim with people like him who claimed to do best… but in reality… they ended up doing worse. He wanted to believe that he was stronger than the compulsions that haunted others, but the truth was as clear as the lack of rain for decades in that dusty town.
He was no better than the next person.
The one thing that set him apart from anyone else was that he was willing to admit that he wasn't good enough. He was trying to be better and the one hope he could hold in his chest in the fleeting moments when clarity came to him and the reality he faced was truly impossible to run from. He wanted to be better than he was the day before.
He wanted to know that he wasn’t his father and that the mistakes of the past would never be repeated, but the fear of something looming on the horizon always haunted him. Even in peaceful moments like this, when Rika’s sing-song voice echoed through the building like the sound of an angel. The world gave him something to think about. He didn't want to focus on it for very long, just like the weight of the ring against his finger.
He leaned against the counter, his hand on his cheek, watching as Rika’s golden curls swayed around her face as she lay atop the piano. The sunlight poured in from the windows and seemed to be right on time. She smiled and the glimmer of the setting sun made him tremble. Ever since the moment he met her, there had been something about her that set her apart from anyone else. As complicated as their feelings and relationship were, he was inspired by this woman.
No matter how much the world tried to break her and beat her down, she would come into this place with a smile on her face and keep going. Even if he knew the truth of the matter, even if he knew that she cried every night she came home, even if he knew that she was struggling to find peace after all of her demons chased her down… She kept trying to do what she wanted to do. She wanted to be up on that stage.
They were in this together for a reason. This bar was the only thing keeping sure that whispers and secrets went to the right place. It was his duty to make sure it wasn’t corrupted as it had been in the past. He was toeing the line and nothing was going to stop that as long as he was alive. Just as Rika knew that he was in her corner intending to keep her safe from those devils that clung to her heels when the moon rose and the cholla cactus that tried to take over her body.
They were giving the other something they needed. Rika supplied a haven for others and Jihyun earned a bar with loose lips that helped him gather what he needed for a plan itching in the back of his mind as crime grew in the streets. He offered her peace in matrimony from her abusers and Rika earned a house that she’d never be flung from into the streets for saying no to the devil dressed as a man of God. She’d offered him a place to handle his concerns and fears, knowing that she’d be the confidant he needed in a world of sin. Partners.
If there was a word to describe what they were, it was partners who understood that the other was dealing with something nobody else could ever understand. She knew that he was doing something in that bar in the name of the greater good, and he knew that she needed his hand in marriage to stay the free woman she wanted to be. Nobody needed to know what brought them together and why they were determined to stay strong.
Rika rolled onto her side and the oohs and aahs from the folks in the crowd watching were clear. She winked, but it wasn’t meant to be in any particular direction; However, he felt her eyes looking right at him and that was a part of her ability to charm anyone. It felt like she was seeing you in the crowd and nobody else.
That’s why people clamored to this dingy saloon, they knew that there was this rose unlike anything else to behold after a day of praying for a taste of gold for a change. Rika was special. She was special in a way that nobody else could ever understand. The people who saw her knew that it was easy to say that she was a pretty face, but they would never know the complexities of the person underneath that face.
A patron to his left chuckled at the sight of Rika’s display as her hand beckoned the crowd to sneak a glimpse at the skin underneath the feathers that covered her shoulders. “I reckon she is somethin’, ain’t she? Guess em’ boys sure as shit weren’t kiddin’ that we’d find a rose out ‘ere if we wanted to wet our lips ‘fore goin’ home.”
His friend laughed, hand slapping the table with enthusiasm, “Too damn bad the filly is hitched. At least, that’s what I done heard from the rumors. Reckon I ain’t see no ring on them pretty fingers, though.”
“Open season, man, y’all know how ‘em saloon gals act. This ain’t no house of God, brother. This is where ya’ go if ain’t got nothin’ left to do but get your dick wet at night. They’re loose as hell and’ll take whatever ya’ give ‘em.” The crude comment wasn’t out of place for Jihyun. It was about what you could expect from men like that.
It made his stomach twist but he knew the name of the game was to bite his tongue and wait for someone to say something they shouldn’t because of the booze on their lips. It was the only downside to being in this situation. The best way to placate and manipulate people came by letting them think that they could say and do whatever they wanted. He cultivated his self-image in a certain way for a reason.
Both men laughed and laughed at their comments as if they were worthwhile and Jihyun maintained his poker face. He knew those words were disgusting, but Rika had told him that she didn’t mind. She wanted to help him, and she loved the stage. She loved being up there because it felt like a place where she always belonged. Men could say anything they wanted but she knew she would always belong to him. He was her safety and security.
If only Jihyun could ignore the glint of shame hidden underneath her smile that always popped out when she heard a man say such things. She looked to her partner on stage, smiling back at him with her mask on, as he joined in her melody and the crowd watched on. His days might not have always been perfect, and neither was hers, but he wanted a day where his stomach wasn’t in knots, and where Rika could be able to smile without someone kicking her dreams into pieces.
Little did he or Rika know that in only a year… they’d find wildflowers in need of tender love and care that only they could provide.

A Small Bernkastel in Gou Theory
Tumblr media
oh look, the Rikas are multiplying again
It's stuff like this post - and Rika's Minagoroshi memories in Tataridamashi - that really makes me wonder if Gou might be a Stealth Bernkastel All Along situation. It's the only explanation I have for why our protagonist Rika seems to remember things the Matsuribayashi Rika explicitly does not. (And Tataridamashi was even before Hanyuu gave her that memory "upgrade.")
I'm actually not believing Matsuribayashi Rika is dead until we see how she died.  I mean, heck, for all we know, the "Rika" we're following now might be brought back not because she died, but because she's a personification of the gameboard's rules, a la Umineko Episode 6's Beatrice.
Alternatively, perhaps Rika leaving Hinamizawa is what finally allowed her to completely forget the memories that constitute the "Bernkastel" personality.  And as Hanyuu was the one who encouraged Rika to give up said memories in Saikoroshi and then disappeared - Hanyuu effectively left Bern without a win condition. Even if Rika escapes, that's just another dead end for Bern.
(On the note of "But Bern already exists/splits from Rika in Saikoroshi, so this can't be her!" - no matter what, there is something strange timeline-wise about Bern's existence.  Saikoroshi explicitly takes place after Matsuribayashi, and yet "Frederica Bernkastel" has been writing poems since Onikakushi.  And if you take the meta!Rika from Minagoroshi/Matsuribayashi who has been naming the arcs as also Bern, the time weirdness gets even more blatant.)
...Anyway, the main reason I like this theory is because I just think it would be a nice way to not make the original ending of Higurashi feel pointless.  Plus, can you imagine Gou Rika's despair if she found out the "real" version of her was still happily living her best life off in the Matsuribayashi Fragment?
