I am BEGGING my tma/tmagp lovers to give a listen to the mistholme museum of mystery morbidity and mortality - eldrich horror? yes. cursed/ultranatural items? yes. a (canonically(?)) autistic main character who's increasing self awareness is both amusing and entirely relatable? yes.
ITS SO GOOD TRUST ME - and deserves a bigger following because it is genuinely SO well done -

Just a Mother and an Audio Tour Guide.
Found a new podcast I love, called “THE MISTHOLME MUSEUM OF MYSTERY, MORBIDITY, AND MORTALITY”. I am only on season 3 but I highly recommend it to anyone who likes podcasts. The scene above is pulled from season 3 episode 5.

[ID: Mistholme Museum fanart of the Guide's handheld audio device lying on a surface with the earbuds curled beside it. The small screen says "Oh god oh f*ck," and an electronic speech bubble colored with the nonbinary flag says "Shit, dude." End ID]

another one
the idea for this one was very much inspired by the Narratorverse, specifically Pollux (@kirchefuchs and also @anon-thelocal for good measure) and @janirah 's narrator whose name I believe is Birds (hope I'm not annoying any of you by tagging you, if so then I apologize)
like before, redraws are fine as long as I'm credited, I wanna see ppl's drawings
👍

AU where instead of the man with a voice like honey and chocolate and coffee all at once, it was Jonmartin that showed up at the start of season 2, Somewhere Else being the Mistholme Museum

Thoughts about The Mistholme Museum of Mystery, Morbidity, and Mortality now that I’m caught up (spoilers!):
1. Goddamn this fandom is tiny. Possibly the smallest I’ve ever been a part of. It’s an honor to fight alongside you, gents.
2. I firmly believe that being called Mistholme makes Guide uncomfortable. It obviously has a negative connotation (what with the name being used against it), but also it continues to introduce itself to people as “Guide” even after discovering its true name. It also never corrects the directors on name, though it has been shown to be capable of standing up for itself in similar situations.
3. There is SUCH good potential for emotional whump with this one. I'm brewing as we speak.
4. The fact that every item in the museum has the potential to be another Chekov's gun is so exciting, and I find myself trying to figure out how each story might aid in the overall narrative. I've never done this before while listening to other podcasts that follow the "individual, episodic accounts of horror or surrealism overlaid an overarching story usually involving an institution or investigation falling to pieces due to the horrors/surrealism" framework. If i had a nickel…
5. Do you know how refreshing it is to have characters who use nonbinary pronouns be as common as those who use binary pronouns? Very, it's very refreshing. In all 200 episodes of TMA, there were, what, 4? None of whom were voice acted or played any major role. Here in Mistholme we have The Guide, The Beast, The Man with the Voice, and the Curator (though we have yet to meet them). Plus many other people mentioned related to the exhibits.
6. I really like the sound design in this one. It's simple, only really being used when necessary, but that makes it effective. Mistholme is very well balanced, too. I've struggled to listen to some other podcasts in the past coughEskewcough because of poor volume balancing.
That's it for now, but I'll add on to this if I have anything more to say

July Break Bingo: Feelings Realization
Fandom: The Mistholme Museum of Mystery, Morbidity and Mortality
Characters: Audio Tour Guide/Mistholme and The Beast
Prompt by @julybreakbingo
"Wait, if the stars here are beetles, what's the sun?"
"Different kind of beetle."
"Great. That's just...that's great."
Last but not least, a tiny boy! I will make it into a bookmark :)

Logically I know that the audio tour guide is in mother’s brain, HOWEVER, my brain doesn’t actually know how the tour guide got into her brain. Like, was he uploaded? Plugged in? How did it happen? So I end up just picturing her carrying around a mini radio like device. But my brain has made up many non-canon ways mother and the guide get around. Bellow is a few of those ideas, as well of some weird ways the guide could have gotten into mother’s brain.

Y'all the guide sounded so resigned when it realized the gnome wasn't supposed to be there
Real "yeah this might as well happen whatever" vibes that I absolutely relate to these days
