Didn't get home until 10:30 so I had to do an abbreviated declutter tonight but it's something

I'm going to do today and I'm going to be okay. T was so thoughtful and on top of her game these last two sessions. It feels heartbreaking to "leave" her for two weeks now (and for my long trip this Summer).

There's a bit of a storm coming for me with work - a big peak. So I really need to focus the next weeks and make sure I can get it done. Today is the scary meeting. We'll see.

I really need a bit more rest in my mind and body. Yesterday I finally did some tidying up (Marie Kondo) and that helped.

But right now it's also the young parts, confused and scared. I wish I knew how to calm them down. It's just going to be one day at a time for a while.

This whole thing of moms shitting on Marie Kondo just pisses me the fuck off. I can never tell who moms hate more, childfree women or other mothers.

If any of these women actually understood her philosophy and what she was doing, they wouldn't be laughing and high fiving because "oh see, you didn't know anything, you were wrong about everything, being a mom does mean it's impossible to clean!"

She never said it was easy. Like. That's the entire point of her system: cleaning is HARD. Her method was about trying to make cleaning easier for people so that they could spend more time doing other things. It was literally about trying to help people have to tidy up as little as possible because that's not what life is about.

As she explains in her books, she finds tidying up calming and she does it for fun. Her mission is to find new ways to improve the process to make everything easier and more effective. When she said she has stopped tidying up since having kids, that isn't her saying that she's let her house get trashed because mothers can't have a clean house, it's impossible. She's saying she stopped constantly doing it as a hobby because now she has something more important to occupy her time: her kids. I guarantee you, her house is still tidy.

This woman has spent her life joyfully trying to help all of us with something we find soul sucking and tiresome. Show some fucking respect.

Halp. I gotta declutter and I have ZERO motivation.

Okay I know this is an old hack but I finally have some metal top hangers and tried using the tabs from drink cans to layer them and turns out it works as well as everyone said it would!

I ordered a set of matching hangers to replace my current plastic shirt hangers (which the tabs don't fit on) and will update when those arrive and I can continue this organization with the shirts! Til then this is the bottoms setup. Pants on one, skirts on the other.

for the shirts I will probably group similar ones together. For example since my job dress code is all black, I have 5 black sleeveless tops and 3 black short sleeve tops, will probably pair the sleeveless together and the short sleeves together, so that my work clothes don't take up so much of my hanging bar, since they're basically identical blouses and don't rlly have to all be visible at once.

Also the new matching hangers will limit my closet to those only, a set of 40 (plus the pants clip hangers i already own shown in these pics) so I think this will help me stay reasonable with my amount of clothing.

I finally submitted my application for hoarding cleanup! I really really struggled to take this step and I hope that I can afford their quote when I get it.

Days before having our baby, I was still trying to figure out what to do with myself 😅
