i have never, in my life, ever been moved like this by a show. i have never cried like this over a show. but that’s because this really is more than a show. this was reality for the thousands, millions of queer folk who came before us. it reminds us: we should always remember to celebrate those that made it possible for us simply to be able to exist and live and love freely. to be.
i honestly couldn’t think of many better ways to pay homage to those queer lives, especially the ones lost, who fought bravely even in the face of death than telling their stories like this; exactly as they were. intricate, raw and real. giving another voice to all that love. the fight might not be over yet, but their contributions have left a lasting impact on this world. telling these stories isn’t just necessary, it’s crucial.
i can’t thank the writers, actors and absolutely everyone else involved in creating fellow travelers enough for bringing this vital, beautiful, poignant, devastating and endlessly meaningful, impactful, important story to life. thank you thank you thank you

“Right now he wanted not to be slapped, but to be thrown under the wheels of the DeSoto that was passing. [...] Panic seized him; he waited for the next claused to strike like an ice pick – because you'll never be seeing me again.”

'Jonathan Bailey has spilt some new details about that viral Fellow Travelers and All of Us Strangers photo.
Back in November, social media was thrown into disarray when a photo of Bailey, Matt Bomer, Andrew Scott, and Paul Mescal went viral on X, formerly known as Twitter.
In the dreamy snapshot, the four hunky acting talents are featured smiling in front of a balcony wearing stylish ensembles.
Since that fateful day, details regarding the epic meet-up have been kept under wraps… until now.
During his recent Buzzfeed “Puppy interview” with co-star Matt Bomer, Bailey revealed that the photo with Mescal and Scott happened by chance.
“Much like for so many people, because the [SAG-AFTRA] strike was lifted, everyone seemed to be doing interviews everywhere, but all at the same hotel, and downstairs was Andrew and Paul,” he explained.
The Bridgerton star went on to say that he and Bomer were then ushered down a corridor, where the four hunky actors posed for the iconic photo.
“My absolute favourite is the comment that went with the picture, that [said], “This is what it would be like if the Hobbits after the shire got a Zara,” Bailey added...'

Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey star in Fellow Travelers (2023), based on the novel by Thomas Mallon.
Hawkins Fuller (Bomer) and Tim Laughlin (Bailey) fell in love in 1950s Washington D.C., at the height of the McCarthy era and the Lavender Scare. Their decades-long romance takes them through McCarthyism, Vietnam War protests, the disco era, and the AIDS crisis of the 1980s.

Dick Kallman and the Murder of Little Louie Groovy
Here’s a historical cul-de-sac! Hank (1965-66) was the first sit-com created by Garry Marshall and Jerry Belson, before Happy Days, before The Odd Couple, and before even Hey Landlord. It was the high water mark of its star, young Dick Kallman (1933-1980), whose story bears telling. Kallman was second generation show business. His mother had been a stage actress; his father Alvin Kallman had…

"Fellow Travelers" is "The Way We Were," with Jewish being replaced by Queer, Redford by Bomer and Barbra by Bailey. Compulsively watchable, not a classic.

I'm listening to Thomas Mallon's novel, Up With the Sun. I'm about 10 hours in and I don't know if I can handle it if Matt dies. Truly. He's so tired, and he's so in love, and things are so good with his daughter, and I just... If you've read it, would you let me know?
