For as bad as the halo show is I really really want them to get a season 3 and onward. Watching the games get adapted to tv on a budget is fascinating, genuinely.

Weirdly enough the most engaging scenes in the show (halo 2 sweep?) are still anything with exclusively covenant characters. For as little as they appear in the show (budget) they’re genuinely well done. The latest episode had a really nasally Elite priest which was fun.

Like, is it because the CGI is expensive, so they’re forced to think about what they’re going to make their characters say? Is that the only time they realize dialogue has to be strategic in its purpose? Terrible show. I kind of love it at this point. Not ironically, it’s just bad- but I love bad tv.

#I also like silver team aside from Chief #kwan and Halsey were a good pairing for an episode as well.#a lot of this show is mind numbingly dumb #but there’s some fun here and there

The most suspenseful thing about that episode was whether or not Elsbeth was going to get Kaya to go to the gala with her

#elsbeth #who else could it have been though?#she didn't have any chemistry with the guests this week #and there aren't many other people to choose from #she needed a plus one and i couldn't imagine her taking anyone on this show other than kaya #i'm very curious what they are going to do with elsbeth's love life though #I would have said 'nothing at all' was a possibility #but after this episode i definitely think they want to do something with it #but what?#who do you even pair her up with?#and does it last or does she just have a few random love interests over the course of the show?#i don't think the good wife did a great job with her love interests #but she was a pretty small character on that show

I know I bring this up a lot, but it truly is never not astounding to me that Chetney and Fearne, a pairing who have canonically banged, continue to only have a total of 24 fics on AO3 and just 15 when you filter out the Big Ship of the campaign that usually takes main precedence in those stories. I don't know that I have any thought-provoking takeaways from bringing this up every 6 months except to say that it is continually confusing to me that it has been this way so persistently for the entire campaign

#perhaps there is something to be said here about a refusal to engage with the pairing in good faith #i.e. taking it semi-seriously or at least NOT like it's just a bit or a joke with nothing genuine happening there #and before anyone condescendingly tells me that I should write what I want to see I already am 20% of those 15 fics #critical role #bells hells #callopea #fearniture #anyway was this about them being cute in the latest episode? yes. yes it was
