~ This semester’s uni projects ~

In this semester I could finally choose my own theme. ✨

Ofc we ‘had to be inspired” by a Hungarian contemporary artist. I chose András Ernszt, and his Áttetsző titled series from 2018. His whole inspiration is coming from nature and his photography.

I’ve always loved gore and the world of horror movies so I thought my starting point for my design could be that. I chose a song for further inspiration from my fav band: Ice Nine Kills. They rework classic horror movies into their songs.

I then, selected 3 vital organs which shaped and determined the appearance of the accessories: heart, lungs and brain

And 3 heart brooches and 3 bags got done 🫀✨

I had so many interesting discoveries while I made these, so if you all are interested I’ll be more then happy to share how I’ve made these QwQ

you all know that audio from bladerunner? "you look lonely i can fix that"?? my brain wouldn't let me rest until i haven't drawn that with Sun n Moon

but jokes aside, really self-indulgent comic bc both Security Breach and Ruin came out when i was at a low point mentally and helped me greatly just be able to move forward and get through each day (and i won't even be getting into how much these 2 fictional robot jesters have helped me refind my passion for drawing)

i really hope that more people can relate to this :))

I can't believe that in the same semester I got to work in two different group projects for two different subjects, and in one we got to work together flawlessly, always comunicating and dividing tasks and stuff equally between each other, and the other where we divided each other in two sub-groups and the other subgroup does shit without ever comunicating with us and then complain because "they did so much work, so they shouldn't do the oral presentation in class".

Like, come on, do you think I'm stupid? Me and Uni Bestie are the oens who did the bibliographic research to find the articles to work on, I asked to meet up in an online call to discuss together and NOBODY answered me, then you appear a week later with everything done (badly) and demand not to do anything else, while me and Uni Bestie also had to edit yous shit because it was so painfully opbiously a copypaste of shit with repetitive sentences badly written.

Don't you think I didn't notice it was just so you could avoid the presentation, because you did all of this behind our backs without consulting anyone about anything. What if i didn't agree in your article choices? What if I wanted to partecipate in writing? I didn't even know you were doing it because you purpusefully avoided telling us to save your ass and say "oh no, but we did work so hard, the 7 of us did all this writing, it wouldn't be fair to make us present it!" and it's even written shitty.

Come on.

stars!! re: your tags on the post you rb'd about wizard uni/wizard tech school: may i recommend Year of the Griffin, by Diana Wynne Jones (the woman who forced Tolkien to keep lecturing instead of fucking of to work on his books by continuing to attend his terrible uni lectures) as a book leaning hard into the wizard undergrad lyfe. One of the main protags is a griffin from a loving family of human wizards (this book is loosely the sequel to The Dark Lord of Derkholm, the fantasy pastiche) and the book follows her and the ragtag group of friends she makes at uni as their various unique problems interfere with the process of studying magic and making friends at university. It's been a while since I last read it but it features terrible profs obsessed with going to the moon, a pirate invasion, philosophy of magic debates in the cafeteria, and a really sweet moment in the middle of an action-packed climax where the main protags have to talk out their feelings to fix the big magical life-threatening problem. I highly recommend!

(wish I knew a book that went the wizard trade school route, but alas. if you hear of a book like that please tell!)

That book sounds amazing, thank you for the rec!! The post made me really hungry for like, relatable-to-my-current-life uni shenanigans but with magic, and now I'm so curious what Undergrad Life(TM) adventures this book contains and if any of them will resonate. Either way it sounds like it's full of very fun shenanigans. (Now what I really need is a book about wizard art school. Someone should write that.) Anyway, thank you verso, this is going on my tbr immediately :)

ADS project is due this Thursday ( I love my professor, she's so helpful), we still need to clarify some things, but it's almost done :)

if ive been inactive these couple days it's because i've been getting fixated like crazy on silent hill which as a psychology major is like if a culinary arts major got really into the bear i guess (ive never seen the bear)

Uni au is done with the stampede characterizations in mind but also consider the fact that they are technically coursing around 4th-5th semester and that’s why they look technically okay

Finding a couple of the ppl I was on friendly terms with are homophobic is just.... :/
