I finished watching Good Omens season 2 yesterday but my favorite part is still probably Crowley nerding the fuck out over MAKING THE GODDAMN PILLARS OF GODDAMN CREATION. Y'all, the noise I made when I saw that lovely, lumpy shape. It was unholy.
The Pillars of Creation are a stellar nursery, where new stars are born, and the 'structure' is located within the Eagle Nebula, which is in turn within the Serpens constellation. For a sense of scale, they're about five light years 'tall.' That means it takes light, which travels at approximately 300,000 kilometres per second (186,000 miles per second), five years to go from one end to the other.
The images above don't exactly match what the pillars look like now, which is honestly perfect because the clouds of interstellar gas shift and change over time.

Anyway, I love that Crowley is so *chinhands kicky feet* about astronomy and cosmology, and that he made just about the prettiest thing we know of in the universe! :D

Izar doodles!!!
Doodle compilation of my noblesse oc from my Millennium AU, Izar Siriana! After Zarga died without an heir, Izar was born from the air and earth of Lukedonia as the new Siriana heir. Izar is a massive astronomy & mathematics enthusiast, and a giant nerd in general lol.
For my entire nextgen lineup, please refer to my pinned post! Now onto the drawings…
1) Izar portrait!!!! I love painting my beloved nerd boi. His hair is messy because he almost never pays attention to it, and you can almost always find crumbs and… partially eaten snacks poking out from it. Ehhh. If you point it out to him he’ll just say ooh its a nice surprise, he can eat it later on, meanwhile it can keep sitting there haha so convenient amiright. (Plz dont) And… he’s always smiling. Happy boi. Probably thinking about building his 1628th telescope right now. Also his glasses are totally fake and he just wears them because he thinks they complete the “scientist” aesthetic. Humans sure are trendy aren’t they?
2) Izar is a HUGE junk food lover. Chips, cookies, soda, cheap powdery coffee, anything that’s junk by human standards really. Especially the coffee part. He drinks it not because he needs it but because human scientists do that. It’s fashionable!! If only he could get his hands on Luzia’s eyeshadow, he would’ve given himself dark eye circles lol. Anyways he’s always snacking on something, and shares his snacks with his extremely smart pet ferret & lab assistant Charles. Charles can understand everything he says and often fetches his stuff for him. ps Izar sometimes forgets to clean his hands especially his fingers after a snack session. Consequently his books and notes often have greasy fingerprints on then haha.
3) Izar is basically a neet but he does hang out with his friends sometimes!! He’s very good friends with Ludis’ daughter and the Mergas heir, Susanna. These two have a lot to bond over. Susa is also the one who supplies Izar’s massive, ever-growing pantry. For a super snack enthusiast like him, his snack-eating speed is actually inferior to Susa’s snack-supplying speed. Oh, what will he do without Susa haha. He always looks forward to deliveries from her household. Some random Mergas clan member tasked with delivery will be knocking on Izar’s lab and he’d be at the door in an instant. “Excuse me, Izar-nim? Susanna-nim asked me to deliver—” “YESYESYES IT’S ME!!!” And Susa, while she doesn’t entirely understand the topics to a complex level, loves to listen to Izar’s mini lessons on space and stars. They have great synergy lol.
4) just cute chibi Izar sitting on a planet lol. He loves everything space related. Precious boi and his hobby needs to be protected at all costs.
5) Izar has a massive crush on Jia. Jia has no interest in “meteor-whats” or those “fancy rocks” but she joke-promises Izar that she would help him collect these “rocks” and bring them to him if he can provide her with a satisfying spar. Girl just loves her exercise. Izar is a neet but his fighting skills are no joke so they spar, to both of their surprise Jia is happy and keeps her promise. Her bringing him meteorites makes his inner nerd explode with joy. Their casual back and forths with the spars and meteorite deliveries extends over the years and Izar falls for Jia. Jia really just loves to fight though. Izar hasn’t confessed his feelings yet, but if he does it’ll be a straight-on marriage proposal with a six pack soda. Ehhh maybe thats jumping too far ahead at once. If he does he should bring a grill lol, girl doesn’t like sweet stuff. Jia doesn’t know he likes her.
6) While Izar likes Jia, Kaelestis Blerster, son of Karias and Rael, likes Izar. Izar doesn’t know Kaekae likes him. It all started out when Kaekae became a regular at Izzy’s lab (the lab is always open to any guests he just almost never gets any lol) to get a breather from the uptight life he usually lives. Parenting Karias (yes, not the other way around) is always… sigh, difficult. In Izzy’s lab is where Kaekae truly feels at ease. Listing to Izzy ramble about space and formulas, snacking on junk, being handed plushies and toys… Kaekae feels like he’s being taken care of. It’s really refreshing. It’s his safe space, he finally found it; it was right there in Izzy’s lab all along. That’s how he falls for the giant nerd boi. He knows Izzy likes Jia, so he doesn’t confess his feelings… yet. Though he should. For right now, they’ll just be best friends… yep, that’s enough right…?
7. Susa is even more entertained once she finds out about her peers’ crushes. Oh ho their love lives are gonna be a ride. So entertaining. Meanwhile her brother and parents wonder why she’s snickering to herself. You won’t get it even if she explains, trust me.

Check In (Intrulogical)
A/N: Finished this fic relatively quickly! It's a lot shorter than the Roceit one I posted earlier this week but it's still kinda a long fic lol!
Summary: Directly following the events of WTIT, Remus pops into Logan's room for what he claims is a quick chat, but that quickly grows into something more when the two actually get to talking.
Content Warnings: innuendos, swearing, intrusive thoughts, implied NS/FW (but nothing happens, dw), hurt-comfort
Logan had taken shelter in his room the moment Thomas got home from his outing with Nico. The logical side couldn’t stand to be around the other sides at the moment and he needed to sort out what was going on in his head.
The spectacled side took a deep breath and sat at his desk, staring at the wooden tabletop before slamming his fist down on it. “Fuck!” He yelled at the top of his lungs, infinitely thankful for the magic soundproofing around everyone’s rooms. What would the others think if they heard the rational, level headed (yeah right) Logic yelling expletives at random in his room?
He straightened his tie and glasses and got up, summoning a straw dummy labeled “Thomas”. He stood in front of it and glared at the doll, visibly angry, before he began ranting to it. He talked and talked, yelling at the dummy about how angry he was at being constantly ignored and pushed aside and made fun of, and if the familiar 10 notes announcing a certain Creativity’s presence hadn’t gotten his attention, he would have continued.
“My my Logan, you’ve got so much to say and no one to say it to, huh!” The moustached side raised an eyebrow, smirking at the nerd.
“...what do you want, Remus.” Logan’s words were curt, like he was trying to say just little enough to make the Dark Side leave.
“Gosh, I can’t just talk to a friend?-”
“We are not friends.”
“Ouch!” Remus pretended to be injured. “You’re so prickly, like a kinda sexy cactus! What’s up your ass today?”
Logan stopped and consulted his flashcards, hearing Remus snicker at this and trying to ignore the fact that his face was burning slightly. “Um… Ah.” He found the card he was looking for and examined it a little. “Nothing is ‘up my ass’ today, Remus. You know full well why I’m upset.”
“Uh huh, cuz I called you out on your lying ass.” He sounded irritatingly proud of that fact.
“Yes, well, you got what you wanted. Are you just here to rub it in my face?” Logan stared at Remus, though he noticeably avoided direct eye contact with the gremlin of a side.
Remus frowned. “No, actually.”
“Then you’re here to make me… feel… worse, correct?”
“Nope!” The green-sashed monster grinned.
“Then what do you possibly hope to gain from this interaction?” The blue tied Side frowned. Remus wasn’t here to bug him, or to upset him further? What reason, then, did he have to come to Logan’s room?
“It’s like I said earlier, I wanted to talk to you!”
“...what about?”
Remus shrugged. “I dunno! What do you wanna talk about?”
Logan blinked. “...excuse me?”
“Yeah! Let’s hear what you wanna talk about!” The Duke sat down on Logan’s bed and grinned up at him.
“...” The teacher was silent. “...you’re mocking me, aren’t you?”
“Huh?” Remus blinked and raised an eyebrow. “Why would I-?”
“Yes, I figured as much. Remus, I don’t have time for your games and if you’re simply going to make fun of me you can just-”
“Woah! Pump the brakes Lo, who said I was making fun of you?” The green side looked legitimately confused.
Logan crossed his arms. “Remus, statistically speaking, a total of… Zero sides share any of my interests. A total of three sides have shown aversion to or have mocked the things I consider interesting or enj- er, have a vague liking towards. Why should I believe you aren’t here to add to the latter set of data?”
“First of all, because I sat through that whole talk.” Remus joked. Seeing that Logan just rolled his eyes, he continued. “And secondly, because we also have some of the same interests! Your census of mockery only includes J-Anus, Emo Boy, Hop-Pop Patton and my dumbass brother!”
“Really? Then what are some of those shared interests, oh Duke of Imaginary Death?”
“That was terrible, one.” Remus held up his pointer finger. “And two, we both like chemistry, and poisoning, and astronomy-”
“Wait wait wait.” Logan held a hand up to silence Remus for a moment. “You… like astronomy?”
“Sure! What’s more existentially terrifying than imagining going hurtling right into the sun, or a black hole, or-” Remus’s eyes widened as he talked about the possibilities.
“Thank you, Remus.” Logic sighed. “But… why talk with… me?”
“Cuz… I kinda owe it to you? After being a dickhead all day?”
Logan blinked. “You didn’t have a phallus for a head today?-”
“Figure of speech, teach.” Remus explained curtly.
Logan ‘ah’d’ and nodded.
“And anyways… I wanted to apologize.”
That caused Logan to stop. “...you… wanted to apologize… to me?”
“Yeah, it’s weird for me too, but it’s true! I didn’t mean to make you so mad you - figuratively - blew up, I just wanted to prove a point.”
“I appreciate your use of the word figuratively Remus, and… thank you.”
“No problem!” Remus grinned and thought for a second. “So… wanna talk about forensics?”
Logan’s eyes lit up. “Do I ever!-” He stopped. “Ah, uh, I mean… If you’d like to…?”
Remus giggled. “Cute! But you don’t have to hide that, not around me at least!”
“...thank you…” Logan smiled softly and the duke’s heart just about stopped.
“Uh, um… no problem Nerdy Wolverine.” Remus smiled weakly at the cute nerd.
The logical side rolled his eyes and playfully pushed Remus’s shoulder, which brought the moustached side’s attention to just how touch starved he was - a problem for another day, Mus.
“So what d'ya wanna talk about? Black lights, true crime?”
“Both interesting conversations, but… how about another topic you mentioned earlier?” Logan sounded timid, like he was scared Remus would stop listening if he dared to change the subject.
“Oh? What’d you have in mind?” The intrusive thot tilted his head at a sickening 180 degree angle, but that didn’t seem to bother Logan.
“You mentioned being fascinated by astrology as well. Would you like to talk about that?”
“Of course I would, my nerdy Astro-Boy Toy~” Remus laughed at his own nickname, to which Logan rolled his eyes again. “What about space, starlight?”
Logan’s smile grew ever so slightly, thankfully drawing Remus’s attention to that as opposed to his pink cheeks. “Well… let’s talk about constellations. You’re a storyteller of sorts, what’s your favorite constellation origin story?”
“Ooh, how fun!” Remus grinned. “Well, I personally love the story of Aquila, the king who got turned into a golden eagle messenger thing because Zeus got jealous of how much people liked him! You know, he’s the one who brought Zeus his cupbearer, Ganymede? That’s where the Aquarius constellation comes from! He was some Trojan prince, he ended up being the god of homosexual love! Historians think his name was a euphemism, since it’s a combination of the Greek words for ‘gladdening’ and ‘genitals’!”
Logan nodded and watched Remus explain the stories, smiling at how enthusiastically Remus shared the information. Remus noticed this and stopped. “Well, how ‘bout you, teach?”
“Huh?” Logan blinked, being pulled from his thoughts by the sound of Remus’s voice.
“You wanted to talk about constellations! What’s your favorite story?”
“Oh, um… I enjoy the story of Orion, the hunter who killed so many innocent creatures that Gaea sent a large scorpion to kill him and then put both of them in the stars for all eternity.”
“Huh! So that Scorpio constellation…?”
“Yes, that’s its origin story as well.” Logan smiled.
“Funny! I would never have guessed it!” That wasn’t true. Remus knew each and every constellation origin story like the back of his palm. He loved Greek mythology, but the only thing he loved more than that was seeing how Logan’s face lit up when he got to explain it. “Any other stories?”
The teacher blinked and adjusted his glasses. “Oh, um… I also enjoy the Cassiopeia story…”
The duke’s face brightened, eagerly awaiting Logan’s explanation. The spectacled astronomer’s face turned pink when he realized this, not sure what to do with this sort of attention.
“Well, Cassiopeia was a queen in Ancient Greece and she claimed to be the most beautiful thing in creation, which Posideon took personally since he had made what he considered to be the most beautiful creatures, and those were the sea nymphs. So Posideon sent Cetus, this giant sea monster, to torment the town, and he told the citizens that if they wanted him to get rid of the monster, Cassiopeia would have to apologize. She didn’t, so they asked if they could do anything else, and Posideon said if they sacrificed Cassiopeia’s daughter Andromeda to him that Cetus would go away, so the townspeople kidnapped her and brought her down to the pier. Poseidon didn’t like that, of course, since he was really just trying to get Cassiopeia to apologize and didn’t want some poor mortal’s blood on his hands so he let Perseus save her and kill Cetus.
“As punishment for almost letting her daughter die to save her own pride and for insulting the gods, they put her in the sky upside down on a chair to humiliate her for the rest of time.” Logan had gotten pretty excited while he explained the story, grinning widely as he finally finished it.
Remus was silent the entire time, watching how happily Logan told him a story he’d heard a million times before and thinking about how nice it was to be able to hear it from the nerd’s perspective.
Logan, finally remembering Remus was there, coughed softly and adjusted his tie, his smile fading. “Um, apologies, Remus. Thank you for letting me ramble.”
“Lo, you were telling a story! That’d be really dickish for someone to just cut you off during a story, you know?”
“I know, but I still appreciate it.” Logan yawned and Remus realized he looked tired, like the story had exhausted him.
“You wanna take a nap, teach?” The duke frowned and tilted his head.
“I… I have to finish up my work for the day…” The logical side moved his glasses and rubbed his eyes.
“...Lo?”
“Yes…?”
“You had a long day. Yes it was cuz I was being a bitch, but still, you need to get some sleep. Or, y’know, I’m gonna be even more of a bitch to deal with!” Threatening intrusive thoughts usually worked to get Janus to go to bed when he refused to sleep, so he figured he’d try the technique out on Logan.
The nerd however simply shook his head and laughed softly. “I don’t think so, Remus. I can… I can handle you…”
“You couldn’t today, could you?” Remus accidentally blurted out before immediately covering his mouth. “Oh my god I didn’t mean that-”
“It’s fine, Remus.” Logan stated, rubbing his eyes. “You’re right. I couldn’t handle you today. But I really do have to finish working on this-”
“I’ll stay with you if you go to bed!” The duke once again blurted out. “Cuz I don’t think you’d wanna stay alone with Orange so close by, y’know? I can stay and like, fend him off!”
Logic blinked at the proposition and squinted. “...you… want to stay with me? Why are you so adamant about me getting proper sleep?”
“Well one, cuz it’s already 10:30 at night, and two, cuz… you know, I don’t wanna end up actually hurting you!”
That further surprised Logan. “You don’t want to end up hurting me? I was under the impression that that’s something you enjoyed.”
“Well…” Remus was hesitant to explain - that tipped Logan into the fact that it was probably something more than that.
“What’s really going on Remus?” The stern side crossed his arms and stared at the Creativity.
“...okay, I don’t wanna be alone tonight!” The duke stomped his foot and crossed his arms, looking away. “My nightmares have been getting worse and Janus is hanging out with Roman and Patton today and Virgil hates my guts so I figured I’d at least try to hang out with the one side that for some reason still tolerates my dumb ass!” He sounded a little hurt, and added, “Or, one that wouldn’t immediately kick me out or hit me with a broom at the mere sight of me.”
Logan blinked. “Nightmares? You suffer from nightmares?”
Remus sighed and tugged on his sash. “Yeah, they suck ass - not in a fun way - but it’s part of the job description, y’know?”
“I don’t. But… does this mean you also suffer from intrusive thoughts?”
“...yeah… They’re kinda the reason I came in here in the first place...”
The logical side sighed. “Remus, you could have told me sooner you just needed company. I’m not the best at keeping up conversation but I could have at least put on a movie for you to refocus on something other than your intrusive thoughts.”
The duke blinked. “You… you’re not gonna just kick me out?”
“Why would I? You’re in need of assistance and I’m going to provide it for you.” Logan got up and rummaged through his DVD stack. “What would you like to watch?”
Remus stretched and looked over. “Whatever ya want, Sub-astute but Super Cute Teacher.”
Both sides flushed red when they realized what Remus had said.
“...interesting nickname, Remus.” Logan gulped, looking down.
“Yeah, uh…” The duke laughed weakly. “Well, I guess that cat’s out of the plastic bag it was choking in, huh?”
“What, that you think I’m cute?” The teacher looked over at the moustached Creativity. “You already called me sexy.”
“Well yeah, but that felt less… sappy, than calling you cute. And anyways, I meant that I was into you. Ooh, do you have Coraline?”
Logan stopped. “...repeat that, please?”
“The Coraline thing?-”
“The thing before the Coraline request.”
“Oh yeah, I like you.” Remus was right to the point, like always. “When I saw you take the shuriken to the face and just keep on moving right along… God, that was an image!” The duke gripped his thigh and shook his head, stopping himself from reaching down his pants.
“And you’re telling me this now… why?” The teacher was still reeling from the initial confession.
“We don’t get to talk one-on-one a lot! Plus, I don’t really like talking about cutesy emotions - that’s Roman’s department, y’know?”
Logan nodded slowly.
“Anyways, I changed my mind on the movie, can you put on Monster House?”
The spectacled side nodded and got the CD for Monster House, putting it in the DVD player and sitting next to the green-sashed side. He should have figured Remus wouldn’t be the type to linger on his feelings, and he was grateful for that at least. He couldn’t handle talking about feelings for long periods, especially not his own, but to have one of the most passionate sides just drop the fact that they liked him and immediately move on from that fact? It was odd. He almost couldn’t believe it.
Remus meanwhile was laying on the bed and watching the movie intently, smiling brightly at the screen before realizing that Logan had gotten into bed next to him. He turned over a little and growled “seductively” at the teacher, who laughed softly at the dark creativity. The sound caused butterflies to erupt in the duke’s stomach, flustering him a little. He smiled back at the logical side before returning his attention to the movie.
Logan meanwhile admired Remus, watching as he talked excitedly about the movie. He found it strangely endearing, how excitable Remus got when he was able to talk about things he found interesting. He didn’t have much time to think about it though, as he found himself falling asleep soon after the thought passed through his head. The astronerd yawned and passed out, sleeping peacefully next to the intrusive side.
The duke didn’t notice until he felt warm arms wrap around him. It startled the hell out of him, but he relaxed after he realized it was simply the sleeping teacher clinging to him. He carefully took Logan’s glasses off and turned off the TV before closing his eyes and falling asleep.
**The next morning**
Logan woke up first the following morning, still a little tired but feeling much better than he did the previous night. Vision blurry, the blind scholar felt around his nightstand for his glasses before realizing he was curled up into another person. He quickly got his specs on and saw the sleeping form of Remus below him, remembering that Remus had asked to stay with him the night before.
He looked at the sleeping creativity, who looked much more peaceful (and admittedly much cuter) asleep than he ever did awake. Still feeling somewhat tired, the Sherlock kinnie looked away and closed his eyes, feeling his face start to burn. When did he start thinking of Remus as “cute”?
Logan didn’t have too much time to dwell on it as he heard Remus start to stir. “Ugh… morning starshine…”
The teacher jumped and sighed. “Oh, good morning Remus. Did you sleep well?”
“Like an asphyxiated baby… you?” Remus groaned and stretched, waking up a bit more.
“I slept well too.” Logan fidgeted with his hands. The dark creativity, sensing the spectacled nerd’s unease, sat up and went to get off the bed. He was somewhat shocked to feel Logan tug on his sleeve. “Stay. I wanted to talk about what you said to me last night.”
“Oh… that.” Remus sighed and sat back on the bed. “What about it?”
“I… I’m not entirely sure what it feels like, but I think I reciprocate your feelings?”
Remus’s expression changed from slight concern to a poorly hidden malicious grin. “Oh? You’re into me?”
“I… think I am.” Logan nodded slightly.
The duke was silent for a moment before bursting into a grating cackle. “Oh- oh my god! Oh my god, you’re gonna kill me nerd!”
The scholarly side tensed up and blinked. “Excuse me?-”
“Are you fucking kidding me?! What kind of goddamn loser are you, to think I - or anyone really - would like you?! Especially after the bullshit you pulled yesterday, like Jesus Christ you’re pathetic!”
Logan’s heart sank as he heard Remus say this. “So you were, what, mocking me?!”
“No shit, Sherlock!” The intrusive side cackled once again before morphing into a huge octopus-human hybrid monster and grabbing the teacher. “You’re so fucking stupid! What on Earth made you think someone like me would like someone like you?! You’re lucky any of the others even talk to you anymore!”
Logan panicked as the tentacles pulled him up to Remus’s razor sharp teeth, about to chomp down on his head, when-
“Lo! Logan, wake up!” The logical side heard Remus’s voice coming from somewhere it should not have been, and Logan woke up with a start. Remus frowned as the teacher practically flung himself away from him.
“Get away from me!” Logan’s voice sounded frantic and panicked, like a cornered animal.
“Woah, woah!” The creativity held his hands up in surrender. “Teach, it’s me!”
The teacher took a few deep breaths and grounded himself, looking around. “...right, right… Apologies, Remus…”
“No problem, Nerdy Wolverine. Now, care to tell me what happened?”
Logan sighed and moved over to Remus, explaining to him his nightmare, tentatively telling the nightmare inducing side that he’d tried professing his mutual love to the other before getting horrendously mocked and belittled.
“Sounds a lot like my Nightmare Nico scenario. Has this happened before?” Remus had managed to ignore his thundering heartbeat and the cheering going on in his head - Logan likes me back!! He could focus on that later. Right now, Logan needed his help.
“No. I don’t normally dream, period, so to get a nightmare is extremely unprecedented.”
“Huh… so, I’m the reason you had the nightmare?”
“That would be the logical conclusion, though I had assumed that your effects would be… muffled, in my room?”
“Maybe it’s a mix of psychological and my effect on you guys? Like you were stressed or anxious about last night so my ability to give people nightmares got amplified?”
Logan nodded. “Interesting hypothesis, and it’s… definitely possible. I apologize for yelling at you earlier.”
Remus shrugged. “Eh, it’s okay, I’ve heard worse.”
The nerd nodded and the two were silent for a moment before Remus sighed and asked what they were both thinking. “So. I like you, and you… apparently like me back? What does that make us?”
Logan hesitated. “I… I’m not sure. What would you like us to be?”
The duke grinned. “How about boyfriends?”
The scholar smiled. “I think I’d like that.”
Remus beamed brighter and moved a bit before stopping. “Can I kiss you?”
Once again mildly surprised by the other’s bluntness, Logan nodded and scooted closer to the dark creativity. Remus quickly pulled the former into a kiss.
Logan was the first to pull away, flushed red and smiling to himself. “I think I could get used to this.”
Remus grinned and took the scholar’s hand. “Me too, Lo. Me too.”

tl;dr political rant post:
it had been my goal from 12 years old to do an arts degree in philosophy (yes what a nerd- thanks to my dad playing a Great Courses philosophy dvd one morning in 2007 and my dad always taking me to the botanic gardens/the uni some weekends).
i graduated from my arts degree in 2018, with a major in english and a minor in philosophy. i was so, so lucky to even get into my communications & media degree (at first i was originally going to do marketing communications, advertising & PR)... but i realised that i was not made for business subjects- despite my mark101 tutor telling me she thought i had knack for marketing- something under this policy that i wouldn’t undertake due to the price hike for commerce/business degrees. nor was i made for a media degree. so i changed to arts & humanities.
although under this atrocious policy, english subjects are made “cheaper”- why on fucking should the rest of someone’s arts/humanities degree be so much more expensive, all depending on the fields they choose???? so you’re telling me, if i was instead to enter undergrad this year to do my english degree... that my english major would be subsidised, but my philosophy minor would be at double the cost (along with the few first year business and communications&media subjects i did), unless i forced myself to pick maths or science subjects that i would most definitely fail, no matter how much work i’d put into them??? or there’s languages- but much like maths/science- there’s the problem with my handwriting that stopped me trying french and even japanese (ironically, since it’s know for its ~painstakingly neat and orderly~ script- but my handwriting is still messy, disorderly and confusing asf).
*please note that most of this next section is just me being highly spurious and cynical. it’d probably work out fine*
but you’re also telling me that under this policy that i’d also probably have to forego my reasonable adjustments in those subjects (yes i still have trouble with my handwriting to this day) mostly because a lot of software still won’t let you write out maths problems properly or i’d have to spend twice as long trying to get a graph to work in excel or idek matlab (please teach me maths nerds)???? and most maths working out is probably better handwritten or whatever??? and that’s besides the point that i still can’t use excel at all 😂.
so with these classes then, would i be battling from day one of first year with professors to let me use a computer during exam periods (unless of course they use online/take home exam methods like philosophy)???? probably (im being very suspicious here because i don’t know how science/maths etc faculties work).
although i did get this once with one particular english professor; who used the excuse that he didn’t know how to set a computer up for exams because he had been on “sabatical for 4 years” or whatever and so “didn’t know the policies anymore”.... so then according to him it was apparently “the students job to do it.... especially since you’re in third year, miss williams”..... however, i was promptly then told by EVERY uni offical that i approached for help to do it for me.... and my other professors across my course that had done it for me, that it was in fact the PROFESSORS job/responsibility to set it up, and not the student’s??? like. help your students fuckwit professor grant??? honestly. anyway. aside from my personal struggles in the english department: let’s proceed. (this was a real incident btw).
would i be at a significant disadvantage to other students by not being able to use a computer during maths exams or science exams because of the drawing of diagrams and graphs and “showing your working”???? hell yes. would i want the professors in that department to probably condescendingly telling me all the time to “present my work neater and more precisely”? FUCK NO. it’s exactly why i avoided every maths and science subject in undergrad- even including the astronomy subject that i wanted to do- because it also meant that fellow students had to read my handwriting for practicals etc as well, that i wasn’t entirely keen on either. but i did not need the harsh reminders of “be more precise and infallible in your work presentation” that i’d had at school constantly for 11 years of maths lessons; affecting my mental health and performance in a subject during a uni semester.
moreover, that’s besides the fact that i’d flat out fail the “year 12 band 4 maths” requirements- unless they want to waive those- for first year maths/science subjects (at least basing it on my local uni).... considering that i actually skipped out on maths completely in year 12 by doing a TVET/tafe/technical college course in live theatre, production and events (which no surprises here, actually included maths anyway 😅).
because, fuck. is ANYONE seeing a trend in my study choices here? hell, i almost did a commerce/business dual degree with a tafe diploma in event management for crying out fucking loud. and you’re telling me that’s also doubled in price?? it’s obvious that i was interested in the arts & humanities and business subjects from the get-go. but under this policy- i’d be charged double for having my interest in event management, instead of say, biology (which is a subject that if it weren’t for mark scaling in my final hsc exam- i would have failed completely)??? utterly ridiculous.
i even contemplated doing a double degree with law at one point (or doing a legal studies major/minor- which is now a course at my local uni, but was not while i was there). however, law course fees have also doubled under this new policy. leaving that out of reach for me, despite that a double degree with law was out of reach for me anyway..... since my mark average was 65% and not at least 75% lol. but as if those marks averages will actually matter under this new policy.
under this bullshit policy, i’d be forced to take science/maths or even teaching (another field i had to avoid, since people can’t read my writing on a whiteboard from a distance half the time either.... besides the fact that i’m not really the ~teacher type~) subjects- all so that my degree price overall will be ”reduced”..... meaning that i would have to trade out my philosophy minor for something in maths/teaching/science (or maybe creative arts- since those fees stayed the same roughly)... instead of sticking to what i was good at: philosophy and other humanities/social science fields like sociology and history????
i understand that many people will snub me with saying “oh why did you even BOTHER going to uni if you were THAT indecisive about what you wanted to do?” which is something i’ve seen many older people saying on posts about this policy. but hell, i was 19 FUCKING YEARS OLD WHEN I STARTED UNI, FOR GODS SAKE. OF COURSE I WAS GOING TO BE FUCKING INDECISIVE ABOUT MY DIRECTION IN LIFE! because, newsflash fuckwits: not everyone has a defined career goal at 19. hell, i still don’t have one at almost 25..... since i’ll admit here, that i flunked out of my postgrad library course.... because i realised that i simply couldn’t cope with learning simple HTML, CSS and javascript coding for website design & user experience design 😂 (again help me computer wiz friends). yes, believe it or not, librarians have to know that today. and most people think that it’s just all about books (okay that was me, but i was wrong). also, if you’re wondering: postgrad library courses aren’t affected, thank god. but my point is, aren’t we meant to fuck up and pick the wrong things in life sometimes??? aren’t we meant to be indecisive about our choices in our late teens up until our mid 20s???
but now you’re telling students that their very first year of uni is practically set out for them, even for arts/humanities degrees (im not counting properly prescribed degrees such as engineering/science/communications & media (they had prescribed majors and prescribed first year subjects, which is why i left it. because i felt trapped in the prescribed marketing et al major etc); all because the government is telling them that “oh to make your first year cheaper: (A.) get good marks.... so that we don’t cancel your HECS place and (B.) pick subjects outside of the arts/humanities like science/maths/tech related subjects so that you don’t pay a whopping $14,500 for your first year of uni and will be more likely to be “job ready”. whatever the actual fuck “job ready” really means. and this all as if there ISN’T enough pressure for a 18/19 year old to succeed in their first year of uni already.
although, the one thing i’ll say is that my one year advanced diploma in marketing that i did in 2014, was $16,500. i still haven’t made any moves to pay it off. but it was constantly in the back of my mind during uni, both undergrad and postgrad. it was there as a reminder to pick cheaper subjects, so as to not greatly increase my combined hecs debt and vet-fee help debt; which is now sitting at $42,500. which under this new policy is the new price of ONE arts & humanities undergrad degree. i’d hate to be going into uni next year at 19 years old (or any age really) with that price tag on my degree.
anyway. that’s the end of my non-sensical rant. morrison and the rest of the libs etc can go fuck themselves.

you and me and atmosphere
a Supergirl fanfic
(post-Crisis, rating: G, word count: 2,000, pairing: Kara x present day Kenny Li although it’s pretty much completely platonic)
read on AO3 here
~
The stars looked different.
Kara didn’t notice immediately, as they were among the city lights and there wasn’t immediately time for her to look at the night sky clearly, but on one clear night, she did, and the realization refused to leave her alone.
She couldn’t yet examine what she recognized and what could have only been doppelganger stars from different universes, meeting in the same constellations and multiplying across the galaxy.
And that was just the stars- there was no way of knowing what planets were different from those she grew up learning the names of, studying alongside her aunt Astra no matter how much her mother disapproved as Astra brought her other ideals along with her during those visits.
She didn’t even know which ones had survived, and which still left vacant space in locations where life had once thrived, how many people on planets that once were who found themselves living different lives, with different families.
How many more people that had once lived on many planets, in many different universes, who now ceased to exist at all.
(The one exception- Argo. She had to know that it still lived, and when she and Brainy repaired the communication device that transmitted a signal back and forth there, hearing her mother’s voice answering her brought a wave of relief that overcame her as quickly as the tears that fell down her face)
Her first priority, however, on a night where she didn’t have to deal with Lex Luthor or other post-Crisis anomalies, was to find out for herself- just as she had when she first experienced such a disorientation after leaving Krypton, looking up at the stars above Midvale… first with Eliza and Jeremiah, then Alex, then a trusted friend. And now, on Earth Prime, she felt a need to do so again.
And so her search led her to an observatory located in one of the National City museums.
~
SPECTACLE OF THE STARS, the banner read, and Kara smiled as she looked up at it, before entering the area herself. It was close to the Krypton exhibit that she’d gotten to help with- and helped ruin, regrettably, even though that was more the fault of J’onn’s brother (she certainly hadn’t asked him to turn into a dinosaur- or for him to take Kara’s pod as a method of escape)- and before she got closer to the observatory, she lost herself a little bit in looking around there, seeing children look at everything that symbolized her journey so far, the last remaining pieces of the world she’d lost.
It was more comforting, certainly, than seeing them worship her- taking in everything with childlike wonder, admiring her accomplishments and learning her story but that inspiring them instead of throwing themselves in her path for her to save them. There was a kiosk, there, with a table that held a box of pencils and blank pieces of paper, as well as a large bottle full of those slips of paper, next to a cardboard cutout of herself, and a sign that read “How can you be a Supergirl (or Superman) to others?”.
As she watched, she saw a little girl and her mother both write things down and put them in the bottle, and she smiled. Nobody knew who she really was, here. Nobody was aware that behind Kara Danvers’s glasses was Kara Zor-El, their Supergirl, the Paragon of Hope who had helped make sure they had an Earth to live on. She and the others had brought the universe back, and as much in it as they could… but she was going to find out how much soon, after the crowd of kids around the museum’s astronomer dissipated.
~
“You’re in luck, you’re the last person who got here before my lunch break.” Says the astronomer.
Kara adjusts the bag she’s carrying on her shoulder, trying to be casual.
“Well, far be it from me to get between anyone and food.” She says. “I can… take a look myself, it’s okay.”
“Nope, that’s against the rules, I have to give my spiel to everyone.” He answers. “So, how much do you know about astronomy?”
A lot more than anyone would think.
“I learned the basics in middle and high school.” She says instead, casually, before looking up at the telescope, and the equipment attached to it. “How does this work, exactly?”
He smiles, and she moves aside so he can show her.
“Actually, I started out making a prototype of this myself.” He says. “And when I started working here, I got to design this version- basically the same technology, but on a larger scale and with a bigger budget. Without bogging you down in all the specifics, this screen-“ he gestures to it, with a constellation already visible- “captures what the telescope sees, in photographs that can even be downloaded on one’s laptop.”
If Kara hadn’t been feeling déjà vu before, she would be now, as the astronomer continues.
“Somewhere, past all that darkness, there are whole other worlds.” He says. “Can you imagine?”
“Yeah…” she answers. “Like the one Supergirl and Superman used to live on.”
“Exactly.”
“Can your telescope see any of them?”
The astronomer gives her a sad smile, shakes his head.
“Not yet, but I’m working on it.” He says. “Someday.”
“Well, good luck.” Kara answers, knowing that whatever answers she was looking for regarding those planets would have to wait until she got a way to travel into deep space herself. Maybe she could borrow Brainy’s Legion cruiser, now that she knows he has his own- or maybe they could go together, her and Brainy, and J’onn- and Alex too of course, and Nia. Her whole team of super-friends, traveling through galaxies, getting to see the worlds they saved.
From that perspective, it did sound like a miracle, instead of the tragedy that still sometimes consumes her nightmares.
She’s so lost in thought, considering it, that she misses the astronomer’s next question.
“What did you say?”
“Do you want me to show you something I found?” he asks. “You’d be surprised what this thing sees.”
Kara nods, and he moves the telescope until he finds it- one specific comet, orbiting the Sun.
“That’s so cool.” She says, taking a look at it herself, first through the telescope and then displayed as a still image on the screen.
“Yeah.” He answers. “It’s… well, after coming up with all of this, it’s my new pride and joy. I even got to name it.”
“Really?”
The astronomer nods.
“It’s true. I, um… I decided to call it Kara- after a friend of mine, who encouraged me in all of this back when we were in high school together. She was the strongest girl I knew- and I couldn’t think of any better way to thank her. Not sure where she ended up, but… if I ever meet her again, I want to show this to her, and tell her how much that meant to me.”
You already did, Kara thinks.
“That’s… great.” She says. “Seriously, congratulations.”
“Thank you.”
Kara adjusts her glasses, before moving forward.
“Sorry, I’m- I was rude, I just… realized I forgot to ask you what your name is.”
“No problem at all.” He answers. “Kenny Li.”
I knew it.
She might not have known for certain at the beginning, but… this was definitely him. Had he never been dead, in a post-Crisis world? Or was this a version from another universe?
Would she have to ask J’onn to give him his memories back, show him what had happened to himself on her Earth? Could she do that to him, seeing him so happy, and proud of his accomplishments?
In any case, she hadn’t seen him in over twelve years, and certainly wasn’t familiar with this adult version of him, so for now she was going to move forward slowly.
“What’s your name?”
She almost doesn’t want to say. She considers giving him Linda Lee, the name Red Daughter used… but in the end, she wants to be honest with him, in a world where she gets a second chance to be.
“Kara.” She finally answers, looking around before taking off her glasses, watching his face light up. “Kara Danvers.”
“Oh my god.” He says. “The Kara Danvers? From Midvale?”
“The one and only.” She answers, and he hugs her, just for a moment.
“Sorry.” He says afterward, regaining his composure. “It’s not every day that…”
“You get to see an old friend, after years apart?” Kara finishes. “I feel the same way. It’s really nice to see you again.”
“Likewise.” Kenny says, hands in the pockets of his jacket, before pressing something into her hand. “I have a business card. If you wanted to talk, maybe catch up when you have the time-“
“I would love that.” Kara answers, accepting the card. “Thank you.”
“Thank you, Kara Danvers.” He tells her, as she puts her glasses back on, professionalism returning before he puts up a sign telling people he’s on a break. “Have a good rest of your day.”
“You too, Kenny Li.”
She realized, as she walked away, that she hadn't really gotten an in-depth look at the stars, or the specifics of how they had changed. But as much as she had wanted to know those things, and got to know them when she was younger, there were other ways she could discover them, and after this certainly other opportunities to explore such changes. What she'd gotten today was something she hadn't even considered, another positive change in addition to those that her friends had already identified, and even experienced for themselves in the month since the Crisis had ended.
And that, for the moment, might have been worth more than any changing pattern in the stars.
"Alex?" Kara asked once she'd left the museum, over the phone. "You're never going to guess who I ran into today..."
~
Kara was familiar with the meaning of “star-crossed”. She’d first encountered the phrase in ninth grade English class, and earned some odd looks when she pointed out that stars couldn’t literally cross- but she’d excused herself, saying that that was theoretical, and Alex had called her a nerd. She later learned that it was a mere metaphor, and had nothing to do with real stars, that it meant fate had doomed whoever was unlucky enough to have that title, and it was most often associated with lovers.
For a long time, Kara thought her own life was star-crossed- that she was fated to lose her planet, lose her opportunity to pass the knowledge of her home to her cousin and raise him as the last son of Krypton he ought to be. Fated to become trapped in an endless, lonely void forever, until she was pulled free with the sins of her mother’s past. Fated to lose many others- from both of her best friends to, for a moment, her cousin and the love of his life, as well as her mother and the part of Krypton that she’d just gotten back. Fated to lose someone she cared about and had come to love, when she’d grown up hating his people, in a way similar to how she had been lost.
(That one especially hurt, months later, when she’d come across his copy of Romeo and Juliet, meaning he too was familiar with the concept… yet he had only highlighted parts that he’d read while thinking of her)
Fated, ten years before- before solving a mystery that had led her and Alex to becoming a truly united pair, to really feeling like sisters after a few years of being awkward around each other at best and loathing each other at worst- to lose her first real friend, the keeper of secrets who hadn’t even realized how much keeping such a secret meant to her.
It was only fitting, then, that Kara and Kenny were brought back together by the stars themselves, and this time, they were aligned in their favor.

“Nice to meet you, Lexie.”
Lexie just stares at her, and Maggie can’t tell if she’s smirking of if it’s a trick of the light.
“Sure it is,” she finally says, and oh, yes, she was smirking.
Maggie decides to forgo delicate, and asks her next question bluntly, her hands back in her pockets. “What brings you out tonight?”

by Lurkz -
I Just Want To Change My Future - Maggie was just hoping to finally have a stable enough job that allowed her to continue helping aliens and maybe finally meet someone who would decide she was worth sticking with. She wasn’t really expecting her new job to involve suspicious acting scientists that happened to be related to her new boss’s girlfriend.
All Alex wanted to do was work in her lab, finish this pseudo-undercover duty at L-Corp, destroy Cadmus, and find her father. She didn’t have time for nosy ex-detective security chiefs. (incomplete/still being updated. 16/? chapters, 77k words)

An AU where Kara tries to get Alex to start dating again with an unusual plan, and Maggie is a pizza delivery girl (complete - 4 chapters, 35k words)
by adieu_sweetamaryllis -
communion - Four years — she’d made it four years without having Maggie Sawyer in a single class of hers despite them both going to the same school. If she hadn’t seen her once or twice across campus she would’ve thought the girl never actually ended up attending National City University, despite both of them getting acceptance letters a few weeks before — well, before everything went up in flames. (incomplete - 18/21 chapters, 126k words)
by DisplacedWarrior -
I would move mountains to make you smile - Alex was just looking for a way to handle her giant crush without talking about it, she had no idea creating an anonymous Instagram account for her cheesy sapphic poetry would cause this much of a stir.  It has half the school starry-eyed but what about the one girl it was intended for?  (complete 1 chapter, 10k words)
by swanmills -
let me be your goodnight - alex meets an annoying new agent in the batch of this year’s trainees. alternate meeting au  (complete, 1 chapter, 4k words)
handfuls of other short/sweet oneshots by this author
and because I’m a masochist who is branching out into being a sadist, I’m going to recommend a very much incomplete story that I doubt will ever be finished but I reread it often and bemoan that it’s incomplete because it was SO GOOD and I want to drag everyone else down memory lane with me
wildfire -  Alex has seen beautiful women before, her sister is one of them, but not one has ever taken her breath away so quickly it felt like she was being knocked over.  Maybe it was simply the shock of seeing another person here when the school had seemed so desolate.  Or maybe, maybe, it was because that was the most beautiful woman that Alex has ever seen.or the one where alex teaches chemistry, maggie teaches history, and they teach each other a little something about falling in love (so incomplete. 3/? chapters, 25k words)
by lordvoldyfarts, who also has several shorter oneshots that I adore
moving on!
General Danvers: (Alex Danvers/Astra In-Ze - Supergirl)
Sword of Damocles - Canon divergent from 1x13: When Hank shows up on the rooftop to stop Astra from activating Myriad, Astra manages to outmaneuver him, taking Alex hostage as a means of escape. Now, Alex finds herself a prisoner at the hostile Fort Rozz base, but as time goes by, she and Astra begin to form an unexpected bond, challenging each of their beliefs, and loyalties.(complete - 27 chapters, 134k words)
Occupational Hazard - A comedy of errors in which Astra seriously misinterprets things. Seriously. Misinterprets. Things. This is a Human AU, so she doesn’t even have the excuse of being an alien to justify her Serious Misinterpretation of Things. She’s just that socially awkward of an Environmental Sciences professor who is head over heels for the obliviously charming-as-all-hell medical school dropout Alex Danvers.Basically, everyone is confused, smut runs rampant, as do silly tropes, stupidly oblivious mutual pining, and eventually, Feelings. Also Non is a surprisingly effective wingman, even though he very honestly had no intention of being one. Seriously, everyone is just so confused. (technically incomplete but read it, that is an order. 7/? chapters, 42k words)
Sweet Dreams Are Made of This - In which Astra watches TV for the first time, falls asleep, and has a series of seven very bizarre dreams, each of which ends with her falling in love with one Alexandra Danvers. Which is just silly. Humans are ridiculous. Why would General Astra In-Ze ever fall for a human, even a human as brave, and clever, and kind, and strong, and impassioned, and protective, and brilliant, and beautiful and…damn it. (complete - 7 chapters, 36k words)
all by uisceB. Just read everything this person has authored. Just do it.
Anyway, I have a whole GD fic rec already done! It was done almost a year ago, though, so I would recommend checking out anonymississippi and alittlelesspain to see what they’ve done in the meantime!
Sansaery: (Sansa Stark/Margaery Tyrell - Game of Thrones)
I can provide you with my past fic rec for that here and also with a handful of more recent fics than that first one, here!
Faberry: (Rachel Berry/Quinn Fabray - Glee)
Sooooo many fics! Enough for two previous rec lists here and here!

Here is a whole rec list :)

Modern day AU where Peggy is Captain America. (complete - 2 chapters, 22k words)
Tony and the Gal Pals by comicbooklovergreen - “Hey Peg, you here? You’re never here early. Should I be worried?”Tony froze, looking to Peggy for direction. Only then did she think that perhaps she should’ve consulted Angie before absconding with Howard’s child and bringing him to their home. Denki Kaminari’s annual Halloween bash was in full swing by the time Hanta had arrived. He’d come straight from patrol, wrapping himself up in his own tape making a half assed mummy costume for himself. Not like anyone would notice with the flashing colored lights, loud music, and abundance of liquor.
However, Hanta didn’t even make it up to the double glass front doors of Denki’s home. Not before doing a double take at the very familiar pirate that ran by him.
“Y/N?” You stopped allowing him the chance to catch up to you, “Holy shit, it is you, when the hell did you get back?”
Three years you’d been gone, working in America. Time differences and busy schedules made it so the two of you barely kept in touch. It was a shame, Hanta thought, considering how close the two of you used to be.
“I- uh- just a few weeks now. I heard you were helping out with the disaster relief after that storm.”
It had to be his eyes playing tricks on him, the funny colors of the dancing lights were what made your cheeks look wet, right? Those couldn’t have been tears.
“I was, yeah, but I got back yesterday. I didn’t know-”
“Get the hell outta here!” His head snapped back towards the front of the house, just in time to see Eijiro, dressed in an impressive werewolf costume, literally throw someone out of the party. The guy drunkenly stumbled off, Eijiro walking over towards where Hanta was standing with you. “Y/N, you good?”
You nodded while Hanta tried to piece together what’d happened. “Sorry, it took me a second to find the bastard. Do ya wanna come back in? I’ll make sure he leaves.”
“No, Eijiro, thanks though. I’m just gonna head home.”
The wolfman frowned but understood. “We’ll have a smaller party for ya! Just the gang as a welcome home! You know Denki will look for any excuse to throw a party.” He turned his gaze on Hanta. “A mummy, really?”
“You’ve been a damn werewolf for the last two years! You don’t get to give me crap.”
Eijiro poked the fuzzy pointed red ears carefully set into his spiky hair. “Mina and I worked real hard on this costume… seemed like a waste to only wear it once.”
“We both know you haven’t just worn those once, big man.”
That got a chuckle out of you while all Eijiro could do was shrug and try to hide a shit-eating grin.
He asked you again if you’d like to stay and once more you said you were going to just head home. It was when you specifically said you were going to be walking home that Hanta spoke up offering to drive you back to your home since it was Halloween and people were creeps.
You were a damn pro hero but he still didn’t feel right about just letting you walk home alone.
When you agreed he told Eijiro he’d be back soon and walked over with you to his car.
> > > < < <
A part of you missed the old station wagon Hanta used to drive, not that this BMW he now drove wasn’t absolutely amazing, you just sort of missed the comfort of the old car.
He waited until he’d reached the end of Denki’s long, winding driveway to finally speak. “So, you wanna tell me what happened back there, or am I just supposed to pretend like Kiri didn’t kick someone out on your behalf?”
“You could probably just ask Kiri and he’d tell you.”
“I could, but, I’d like to hear it from you.”
You knew you could tell him, there was nothing you couldn’t tell Hanta. There was once a time when the man knew every single detail about your life. Sure, time and distance had put a strain on that relationship but you were back now. There was no reason why you couldn’t at least start rebuilding what you and Hanta once had.
“Y/N, if you don’t wanna say anything-”
“I was just casually seeing this guy. You know me and dating, how we don’t always work out.” You said abruptly and he quit talking, “And so, we weren’t like official but we said we’d go to this party together. Well, I got here and went looking for him and found him making out with one of Hawks’ sidekicks. I got a little upset when he noticed me and, well, he just said he found someone better.”
Hanta actually stopped the car, pulled off to the side of the road, threw it in park, and looked right at you because he knew what found someone better meant exactly. You’d used those words in high school when that guy from Shiketsu that you’d been seeing got pissed off that you wouldn’t put out and ended it with you. You went to his dorm crying because he ’found someone better’, is what you told him. It took him a few hours to get the truth out of you.
You’d always been the kind of person to love with your entire heart but sexually, you’d confessed that you felt different from all the other kids your age back then. Not having the same urges and desires that everyone else seemed stricken with.
“Hanta, it’s fine, really. Kiri heard the whole thing and, well, you saw what happened.”
“Doesn’t make it right! So, you went on a couple dates with a guy, that doesn’t mean he just gets to expect you to put out for him! Even if you weren’t demi, no one gets to just assume they deserve sex.”
His lips were pressed in a narrow line, nostrils flared once in annoyance. He was usually so calm and laid back that you thought it rather cute when he got overprotective. “It’s alright, Hants, really.”
He still gave you a look that said he disagreed but then shook his head, dropping the subject for now at least.
“Still like those late-night drives?”
“I love them.”
“Good.”
Hanta waited for a car to pass and whipped the car in the other direction.
It wasn’t long before he had the windows rolled down, conversations filling in the blanks of lost time, in between belting out choruses of your favorite songs. Minutes slipped by the further he drove, you lost track of both time and kilometers, letting him tell you all about the ridiculous antics the group had been up to.
Eventually, you caught the scent of salty air and even in the dark, you had a pretty good idea where Hanta was going. He followed a winding road, making two left turns and then a right leaving you on a stretch of road that paralleled the ocean.
You let your head fall against the seat, eyes falling shut and inhaling that wonderful smell you missed so much. Hanta had just one hand lazily on the wheel, his elbow resting out the open window, a relaxed smile was illuminated in soft orange lights off his dash.
You let your head roll onto his shoulder, not as easily done without the bench seat in his station wagon but it worked nonetheless. “Thanks.”
His free hand came to rest on your knee, “Anytime.”
He turned the wheel, pulling over and parking in front of a small beach access that you guys had found at 3 in the morning five years prior. Hanta kicked off his shoes, leaving them in the car to avoid them being sand-filled and you did the same with the knee-high boots purely because you longed to feel the sand between your toes.
The wooden planks were worn, parts buried beneath the sand until eventually, none remained. Breaking waves flooded your ears and you made a run for them! Before you could reach the lapping water though, tape had wound around your middle and yanked you backward.
“Not happening!” Hanta said firmly. “Last time I let you talk me into late-night swimming we didn’t have a change of clothes either and we both got so sick! I think I might have actually died without Bakugo’s soup!”
You chuckled, remembering being nineteen and curled up with Hanta on the sofa in the living room of the apartment you all shared for nearly a week. The sniffles didn’t cease for almost three weeks.
“Okay, okay, no swimming.” You flopped back down into the sand, his tape still attached meaning the cellophane hero was pulled down with you. “Tell me about the stars then, Hants. Who’s out tonight?”
Astronomy was a hobby of Hanta’s you learned about after moving into the dorms your first year. It wasn’t uncommon to find him out on the roof most nights, laying on his back and looking up into the clear night sky littered with twinkling stars, usually with a joint pressed between his lips. It became almost a habit for him to grab you on his way up, pulling you along because you were more than happy listening to him tell you about each constellation and the stories behind them.
It was around this time of year, in your final year of high school; somewhere between him recalling the greek mythos of Aries and Sagittarius that you noticed your heart beating a little faster. You realized something had shifted between the two of you, and, holy shit, was this what it felt like to have a crush! When the hell did that happen?
You’d entrusted everything to Hanta back then, and now, laying in the sand shoulder to shoulder while he talked about Draco, that familiar feeling stirred again. You remembered what it was supposed to be like when you weren’t forcing it for some random guy. How simple it was supposed to be.
You inclined on an elbow and he stopped mid-sentence. “Eh, everything alright?” You nodded but he looked anything but convinced, mirroring your position and asking you again.
It was easy for you to lean forward, to brush your lips against his for the first time in three years. And, when you pulled away, he looked about as shocked as he had the night you’d done it when you were eighteen.
“You- you still like me?”
When you left for America, you’d both agreed to put a pause on your sort of relationship. Free to date and screw whomever you pleased because three years was a long time and it just seemed like a fair decision to make. The realization that he might now have someone else special in his life dawned on you…
“Yeah but I totally understand if things are different now and I shoulda asked- oof!”
He kissed you so hard you toppled back into the sand, quick pecks, one right after another, ending them with a long one that nearly left you breathless.
“I didn’t know how to bring it up. I didn’t want to make you feel awkward about things or make you think I expected something. I thought that maybe since we didn’t talk for a while your feelings might have changed.”
“I can say with confidence they haven’t.”
“Thank fuck.” He groaned and captured your lips in another searing kiss.
It was easy to lift his shirt off, the shreds of tape that remained were now covered with gritty sand that clung to your fingers as you traced the chest and torso you knew so well. Gliding over defined muscles, lingering on old scars and mapping out new ones he’d collected in your time apart.
His own hands were busy flicking open the brass fastenings of your corset, huffing about it being so much more difficult to get to your chest and something about it being very unfair.
By the time he’d undone the last one, bright headlights shown across the beach. “Shit.”
Giggling ensued from the walkway and you both sighed, at least it wasn’t the police or a hero patrol. Hanta gathered his shirt and ran back to his car with his hand in yours.
“I thought our days of being caught were over.”
“At least it wasn’t Mr. Aizawa this time.”
A chill ran down your spine remembering the night and the lecture you’d received when your teacher had caught Hanta sneaking out of your room early one morning.
“So, uh, do you still plan on going to Denki’s party?” You asked innocently enough but Hanta knew you far too well.
“I think I’m gonna miss it this year.” His hand found a home on your upper thigh. “Apparently, you and I have a lot of catching up to do. Lost time to make up for and all that.”
“Too bad you don’t have that old station wagon anymore. If you did, we wouldn’t have to wait to get back.”
Dark eyes glanced over at you not so subtly parting your legs.
“I dunno. It’s not too often I travel in the backseat of my own car but I’ve been told it’s pretty roomy. Lots of legroom.”
Your hand ran over your legs, dipping down to lightly brush your more sensitive parts, thankful you opted for the thin pair of black leggings rather than the dark skinny jeans. Your fingers danced again and this time you let a soft moan pass your lips. “Eyes on the road, Hants.”
“That’s a little hard to do when I’ve got you spread out in the passenger’s seat.” He grabbed your free hand and pressed it against the bulge in his pants. “You’ve got me distracted, filthy little woman.”
You appreciated him testing the waters, a subtle way of checking if you liked those nicknames he used only in private with you, giving you a chance to protest if your likes had changed. They were one’s that only felt right coming from him and you were eager to hear more.
Forgoing your own high, you leaned over the center console as best you could, undoing his belt first, followed quickly by his zipper letting his strained cock be free.
His grip tightened on your leg when you kissed the tip of him. “Just like old times, huh?”
A chuckle turned quickly into a moan, taking him in your mouth, pushing yourself further on his cock, fighting your gag reflex to get him down your throat. Hanta reclined his seat further, giving you more room to work with.
Your legs clenched tighter with every groan you pulled from him, wiggling your hips in the seat, letting a hand fall back between your own legs. There was an attempt of a moan around his cock when his fingers coiled in your hair. “Such a good slut. Keep fuckin’ goin’.” He let you continue at your own speed, needing to focus as best he could on the road rather than what you were doing but, damn, you were making that increasingly difficult.
He wasn’t stopping you though. He rarely did. You’d sucked him off on countless drives before and only stopped when- “That’s it.” He lifted you off him by your hair at the same time he pulled off the road. There was a convenient turn-off, hidden by overgrown brush you noticed before he shut off the headlights.
Hanta took you by the chin, smearing drool. “Backseat, pretty girl.” He reached into the glove box and pulled out a foil wrapper, “What do you say we test out that legroom?”
He wait to watch your smile grow wide before crawling into the back because he had to be the first to go if this had any chance of working. Once situated, pants under his thighs, he patted his lap for you to climb over.
You slid easily onto his lap, hands traveling up and over his shoulders, kissing hard while you rocked your hips against impossibly hard length.
There was so much comfort in the familiarity of him. It wasn’t awkward to fall back into rhythm with Hanta, to remember that he loved the feeling of your nails dragging down his chest. And he was just as eager to get your shirt off, reach your breasts he’d missed so much, and get his tongue on your nipples.
Your head tipped backward, loving the pace he set, hips bouncing creating the perfect tug on your nipples between his teeth.
“Love, if I promise to buy you a new pair, can I rip these damn leggings? They’re just so thin and-”
“Please.” Your breathy moan had him smirking and with a single grunt the leggings were ruined, cool air from the vents had only a moment to touch your bare ass before Hanta’s hands reclaimed it.
There was no way he hadn’t felt your arousal before ripping your clothes off, you soaked through your panties and leggings, you knew that, but that didn’t stop him from commenting on how soaked you were now on his fingers. “Want me inside you, whore? I think you do.”
You nodded with a whimper and he slipped a finger in. “Hants, noo- I- I want your cock, please.”
“You’re gonna take my fingers like a good little slut first.” You clenched at the words falling from his mouth. “So fuckin’ tight you can barely take a finger. How’m I supposed to fit in here if you can even take a single finger? Need you to loosen up, alright.” He pushed another finger in, scissoring the two inside you.
“This gonna make you cum? You need this bad, don’t you? Tell me. Tell me how bad you need to cum.”
“I want it. Please, please, I need it. I’m so close,” You babbled and ripped the foil open with his teeth, rolling it with one hand on his cock. In an instant, his fingers had been replaced with this dick. Sticky fingers on your ass helping you ease down on him with a hiss.
“Fuck,” Hanta let out a throaty chuckle, “You still fuckin’ feel the absolute best.” He dropped a kiss between your breasts, letting you adjust to his girth. “Perfect. Good girl. Such a fuckin’ good little slut.”
He wasn’t about to last long. Not once you started bouncing up and down on him, your tits right in front of his face.
“Couldn’t even wait for me to get you home, had to fucking tease me in the damn car.” He held onto the fat of your ass, pulling you along him and slamming you down hard.
“Kinda pathetic how desperate you are. Fuck. Kinda hot too.”
When the top of your head bumped the roof of the car, he scooted lower, trying to give you as much room to ride him however you pleased.
“What do you need? You wanna cum, don’t you, pretty girl, what do you need?”
“Faster, faster please.”
Hanta shifted even lower, making you grab onto the two headrests while he thrust his hips up into you at a rapid speed. His thumb on your clit was the additional stimulation you needed to fall over the edge. Nails clawing at the black leather as he continued to moan below you now chasing his own release.
You stayed poised above him, using every last bit of strength to stay upright until his mouth was rambling and his cock pulsed inside of you. Fingers bruising your skin before holding your pelvis snuggly against his.
He was bent in a way that looked entirely uncomfortable and yet he still smiled so widely. Reaching up to brush hair out of your eyes, “You okay?”
“Perfects, Hants. A little sore but I’m sure you are too.” He moved off his lap, letting him slip out of you with a groan, “Is your neck gonna be okay?”
“I’ll be fine. Having you back, love, is more than worth a little bit of a neck cramp.”
As he tied a knot in the condom, depositing it into a plastic bag he had tucked away under his seat, Hanta raised a brow, “Love, really, are you alright? Please, tell me if I hurt you at all.”
“No! I’m good, why?”
“You’re sitting silly.”
You were sitting a little odd, perched on your knees rather than sitting on your ass because the leather was chilly and you told Hanta as much making him laugh. “Wait, I think I can help.” He leaned back to the front of the car, flicking a button making it glow. Once he tucked himself back in his pants he hopped out of the car and you could see him rummaging in his trunk through the rear window.
“I keep forgetting to take this out from our camping trip a couple months ago. Guess it turned out to be a good thing.” He laid the blanket down over the passenger’s seat, declaring that should help a bit.
You wrapped the now toasty warm blanket around your bottom half while Hanta drove back towards the city, your head on his shoulder, his hand on your thigh.
“So, shopping tomorrow? I believe I owe you a pair of leggings…”
“It’s a date.”

Hello. I just read that on Wednesday there will be a total lunar eclipse and it’s both a blue moon and super moon. I remember in one of your stories that Alex and Maggie watched the solar eclipse. Can you maybe write a fic in the same AU where they watch the lunar eclipse as well? :) In case you couldn’t tell, I’m an astronomy nerd.
Hey! I just posted the chapter on AO3 here!
A/N: This is in the HSAU, though at this point, they’re in college. If you’re looking for the solar eclipse one, it’s Chapter 126.
A/N 2: As a reminder, I’m still catching up on old prompts. I’ve been spending a lot of time on my slow burn political AU, and things at work (plus also wedding planning) have been a bit busy, so the prompts are on the back burner a little bit for now. There’ll still be updates, but I just don’t have time to make them as regular (read: daily) as they were for a while, especially since plenty of the prompts I’ve gotten recently really require some world-building so it doesn’t feel like I just threw you in without context. And I like to think that if you’re trusting me with your prompt or headcanon, you’d like to see it done with the thought it deserves, even if it means waiting a bit longer.
Chapter Text:
“You know she’s been here before, right?” Daisy teased Maggie, watching as she straightened her comforter for the fourth time that hour. “And she loves you. And probably won’t dump you if your half of the room happens to be slightly less than immaculate.”
“I know, I know,” Maggie relented. “I just want things to be nice for her.” They’d agreed not to be that couple that spent the entirety of their freshman fall visiting one another and failing to make friends on their own campuses. So Alex had come to NCU to help Maggie set up her dorm room, since she’d gotten to arrive early for a pre-college week for first-gen students, and then Maggie had gone up to Stanford to visit Alex for the long weekend she had off from classes and work during the fall break. But otherwise they’d kept it to phone calls and FaceTime chats and a handful of fumbling attempts at Skype sex that were only once interrupted by a roommate—Daisy, in fact, who had proceeded to give Maggie all sorts of shit about it for weeks. Of course, she and Alex had spent large chunks of winter break together, and Eliza had invited Maggie and her aunt over to have Christmas dinner with them, but somehow she was still nervous about the visit.
“Look, if your girl agreed to try Skype sex again after I walked in on you two, I really doubt she’s gonna run off just because your military corners got a little fucked up.”
“Stop!” Maggie hissed. “Alex doesn’t need to know you know!”
“It’s college,” Daisy laughed. “You’d go crazy if you didn’t have someone to talk to! Plus, if I didn’t know you at least had someone to get freaky with over the phone, I might think you were sorta boring for all those nights you spent home while I went out.”
“You’re the worst,” Maggie grumbled, but her smile gave her away. It had been nice having someone to be open and honest with. They’d met during the first day of pre-college week programming, and after a bit of uncertainty, they’d slowly but surely let their walls down. All the forced openness during the ice breaker events probably helped, though Maggie found herself letting her guard down the most during the late nights they together spent back in their room, propped up in their own beds wearing ratty old high school t-shirts and pajama pants that still smelled like home.
“Nah, I’m pretty excellent, actually.”
“I mean, maybe…but I’m definitely better.” Maggie shot a shit-eating grin in Daisy’s direction.
“I suppose you’re better at chemistry, but otherwise…” Daisy trailed off with a shrug and a crinkle of her nose.
“I’m better at holding down a girlfriend.”
“That’s cause I’m not looking for one,” Daisy shot back. “That’d be like if I said I was better at dating men than you.”
“Ah yes, sometimes I forget that you are tragically heterosexual,” Maggie teased.
“Hence the complete and total lack of desire to date seriously. I’ll give ’em a few more years to mature. It’s like…a nice wine. I want them good and ready before I commit to a bottle. For now, ya know, I’ll take some sips of that two-buck Chuck here and there.”
Maggie cackled as Daisy mimed sniffing at a glass and sipping it with a shrug. “The most refined of palates—truly.”
It was then that a knock startled Maggie to attention and, with one last tug at the corner of her comforter, she nearly skipped to the door. “Hey! Come in!”
“Hey!” Alex swept Maggie into a tight hug and let herself be pulled into a kiss once the door was kicked shut.
“Hey, new friend!” Daisy nearly yelled, laughing at the death glare Maggie sent her way when Alex startled.
“Oh, um, I’m so sorry. I’m Alex.”
“I remember.”
“Daisy!” Maggie hissed, watching as Alex’s cheeks flushed a light pink.
“What? We met the day you moved in for a few minutes, Mags. God, get your head out of the gutter.”
“Excuse me, that’s where you live!”
“Well you’re my roommate, so you must live there too.”
Alex watched the back-and-forth like a spectator, rather than an active participant. This was a part of Maggie’s life that she knew about, but wasn’t really privy to—and she got it! That was what they had decided would be best, and she was grateful for it. She’d gotten involved in clubs and made friends up at Stanford that she suspected would have been more difficult if she and Maggie were taking turns visiting one another every weekend. But it was still…new—this idea that Maggie had someone, had a whole part of her life, that Alex didn’t know intimately.
“Anyway, Daisy doesn’t get much better behaved than this, but she’s nice enough to let me borrow some of the Hiking and Outing Society’s camping gear so we can hang out at the park comfortably instead of trying to squeeze in at the campus observatory.”
“Are you coming too?” Alex asked, hoping she sounded polite. It wasn’t as though she would be angry, but she had hoped for some time alone with Maggie.
“No, no, won’t go interrupting you lovebirds again.”
“Daisy!”
“It’s fine,” Alex insisted, not wanting to make a bad impression by being the stick in the mud girlfriend who couldn’t take a joke. She’d tolerated a lot worse from Lucy, and surely at least one or two of her new friends would do the same to Maggie.
“See! Told ya that people love me, Maggie.”
“Tell that to the girl who sits next to you in history,” Maggie snorted.
“It was an accident! I talk with my hands—she should know that by now.” She’d actually been rather apologetic, but the girl had huffed out something about a rush event that night and now refused to sit in the seat directly next to Daisy, preferring to put her bag there and leave one in between them.
“Whatever you say… Anyway, Alex and I are gonna go grab dinner, then we’ll come back here and sleep for a bit before we head up early in the morning.”
“Have fun! I’m gonna go crash with Tasha down the hall before we go down to the observatory. And call if you have any issues with the gear.”
“Thanks, you’re the best!”
“Aha! I knew it!” Daisy crowed, earning a shove from Maggie.
“It was good seeing you again,” Alex offered with a small wave. “If you’re around tomorrow, I’ll be here through lunch. It’d be great to get to know you a little better.”
“Yeah? I could do lunch before my 2 o’clock class.”
Maggie nodded, happy to see her girlfriend and her roommate making an effort.
“Perfect! Maggie was telling me there’s a pizza place just outside of town that she just loves, and since I have a car, I figured maybe we could go?”
“I like her, Mags. Don’t fuck it up!” Daisy called after them.
“I know it hasn’t really been that long since break, but I’ve really missed you,” Maggie whispered, pressing soft kisses across Alex’s stomach as she drew herself back up from between her legs.
“God, I’ve missed you too. So much.” After a pause, she added, “And not just for that, you know. It was nice getting to see you everyday again and know that you were just a few minutes away if anything happened.”
“Yeah, I get that.” She kissed Alex—softly now, without the desperation they’d had crashing back through the door before falling into bed together. “We should probably try to get a little sleep.” The plan had been to go to bed early, but they were far past that point now.
“Fine,” Alex huffed, smiling as Maggie pressed a few last kisses to her lips and cheeks before pulling the comforter up and over them.
“I’ll set an alarm for 3, and then it’s only, like, half an hour max from here.”
“Well then, I’ll see you in two hours.”
Maggie groaned at the idea of waking up that early, but soon found herself sinking happily into a restful sleep with Alex tucked into her side.
The alarm was gratingly loud, but Alex’s enthusiasm about the lunar eclipse was more than enough to outweigh Maggie’s annoyance at losing sleep. They stumbled out of bed and found comfortable clothing before dragging their bags out to the car. The drive over was spent blasting music to ensure they stayed awake, and their first half hour was spent setting up their tent. At 3:48, Alex took a break from helping to point up at the sky. “The umbral eclipse is starting,” Alex whispered, as though speaking any more loudly could upset the delicate balance of nature at work.
They worked quickly and efficiently as they got the tent set up, knowing they likely wouldn’t use it much at all. But they hung out in it for a bit, positioning their heads near the entrance to get an upside-down view of the moon as it worked its way toward totality.
“So, that super blue blood moon, huh?” Maggie teased, laughing as Alex huffed.
“That phrase is misleading. People keep thinking it’s gonna be blue. It’s only called a blue moon because it’s the second full moon of the month, which is really rare…hence, you know, the expression. Once in a blue moon. Doesn’t mean the moon is blue!” Maggie smiled as Alex worked herself up. “It’ll be red-ish brown—hence the blood moon. And that’s all because of the Earth’s shadow. But people on the internet keep acting like it’s the end of the world or a sign of the apocalypse or something, and it’s just frustrating.”
“You’re pretty perfect, you know that?”
“What?”
“You’re such a nerd, and I love you for it.”
“I love you too,” Alex chuckled, letting herself be pulled into a soft kiss. “Now, wanna tell me about your classes?”
For the next hour or so, they hung out in the tent and talked about their new semester of classes, every so often pausing to snap photos and document the building eclipse. A little before 5, they pulled their sleeping bags out of the tent and settled back down to watch as the eclipse reached totality. They took several more photos, and for a while, they just watched in silence, their hands intertwined and resting in the grass between their sleeping bags.
“I’m really happy I got to see this with you,” Maggie whispered.
“Well, there’s another super blue blood moon”—Alex crinkled her nose in distaste at the phrase—“in 2037…maybe we could even come back here again.”
Maggie looked over at Alex, blinking back tears, only to find Alex studiously avoiding eye contact and busily checking the photos she had taken on her phone. “Hey, uh, Alex?”
“Yeah?” Alex’s voice was soft and slightly gravelly, and she looked more vulnerable than Maggie had seen her since they first talked about whether or not they would stay together when they went off to different colleges.
“I’d love to come back here with you in 2037.”
“Really?”
“Oh yeah. So start getting some facts ready, cause I’m definitely gonna want a whole new presentation on this special moon from my nerdy expert scientist girlfriend.”

Which of these do you think I should finish up and post soon? I wanna actually make an effort and start posting up some of my wips instead of letting them gather dust
From what I see in my drive folder, these are some of my wips that have the most effort put into them, except one, it’s actually finished, I’m just too embarrassed to post it
-Crowley accidentally helping to write the Codex Gigas after being summoned by Herman the Recluse and them both getting really drunk while working on it. Crowley never told Aziraphale he helped write it because Aziraphale would hold that over his head forever.
-Aziraphale wants to visit a museum with no docent, but changes his mind when he meets the handsome archivist who is volunteering to be his own, personal docent (literally just an excuse for me to write gay stuff while also being a huge nerd about my museum studies degree)
-An Einstein and Eddington/Good Omens crossover one-shot where Crowley meets Arthur Eddington and helps to be an inspiration to him to keep up his theory of relativity he’s working on with Einstein (I actually ADORE this movie, not just because David Tennant and Andy Serkis are in it, but because I am a sucker for astronomy and history being shoved into one movie, and it was fun to write something with two David characters meeting that AREN’T the usual Crowley meeting the Doctor or whatnot, I wanted a little variety)
(This is the one that is complete, I’m too embarrassed to post something involving a fictional version of a real person talking to someone who shares his face for some reason. This is also the one-shot I was asking what Crowley’s hair would look like in the 1910s for, because I’m tempted to draw something for it before I post it)
-Aziraphale is mad at Crowley and spends a whole week walking around with a giant, plush snake toy he has lovingly named Janthony, and Crowley is jealous of a toy to an embarrassing level
-Not a one-shot, but the first chapter is complete, a Beauty and the Beast-inspired story where Crowley is a snake-themed beast who can switch between a cockatrice and a gorgon and Aziraphale lives with him and his strange servants (who all happen to be made out of different things like stone, porcelain, ect.)
-Warlock asking Nanny about gender stuff, which was meant to be in the TDoV zine I joined, but I sadly dropped out due to health reasons and it was hard to focus on it when I had a million things going on so it wouldn’t have ended up as good as I would have liked it to have been
-Whatever the hell I’ve got going with Sour Blessings, there are a lot of one-shots I’ve got written, along with the actual story being in the works
I wanna try finishing/posting up one of these by next week, what do you guys think would be the most interesting to see?

Hello! I hope you are doing well! I would like to request both a haikyuu!! ship and a mha ship is that’s alright(if you can’t do both don’t worry about it 😊). I am a girl I would prefer to be shipped with males atm. I’m pretty creative and I love art and reading, but in general I just really love learning as much as I possibly can, especially in areas of science and math. I tend to be in my own world most of the time and can be pretty space-y. Also my Meyers-Briggs type is INTP. Thank you!! ✨
match ups are closed! check match up statuses on my pinned post because they’ll change!
hiiii sorry for the wait! I’ll do both but they might be a bit short, I feel bad for making you wait but like I said in my last ship I just posted a long while ago... I feel kinda bad because inspiration/motivation didn’t really hit? But i hope you still enjoy it nonetheless!
For Haikyuu: I ship you with oikawa tooru!
Tumblr media
Why you two work well!!
So for one thing I think you guys would work well because based on the fact that you have that thirst of knowledge and you’re an INTP makes it a pretty nice-ish pairing with Oikawa? Okay this is whack but hear me out lol, despite the fact that most INTP’s are very shy and they’re not one to put themselves out there for a relationship, I think you’d probably have something intriguing enough for someone like Oikawa, who spends most of his time with volleyball, to seek you out. When you guys are dating, I think there will come a mutual understanding that Oikawa loves volleyball but you’re able to be communicative with him aboutyour needs and wants out of a relationship. It also says on the INTP page LOL, that those crazy romantic gestures are unimportant for those with the INTP personality type, so it works out that Oikawa may not always have the time for that anyway. Of course, you’d still have some extravagent date nights every now and then but I think it just works with how busy Oikawa is but you’re also understanding and would want to support him. Plus even you have your own goals and ya know, you both support each other.
how you two get together
so this may be on the shorter side
but i like to think that mayhaps you were in the library trying to find some booksto read
for this time particularly, you wanted to look into astronomy
ah but there’s these other two guys there too
one who’s trying to talk about finding books on alien sightings
and the other who keeps calling him “shittykawa”
this happens for a while
the three of you guys just are always in the same area
there was never really an excuse for either of them to talk to you
but you did find one of the attractive (oikawa)
however you did realize that that was the pretty boy heartthrob of Aoba Johsai
even if you didn’t go to his school
so you definitely didn’t want to get caught up with the likes of him. who wants to get their heart broken anyway?
but one of those times you’re at the library, there’s a book that the two of you happen to go for at the same time (you notice his other friend isn’t there)
you simply offer it to him and say that you’ll read something else
but he shakes his head and with that award winning smile of his he just says “let’s read it together.” he kinda trying to be a flirt lmaaaooo
the two of you introduce yourself to each other
and once you’re both done with the book and you have to head home he walks with you to the train station
it sorta becomes tradition
and it’s how you get to know him beyond his uh pretty boy heartthrob personality that people talk about
of course you were wary at first
but when he started nerding out about volleyball and aliens being real
yeah, no, he’s a bit of a loser
you guys get really close after that and it’s because of how you’re supportive of his volleyball endeavors (not so much for his “aliens are real endeavors”) and yet still caring, that you kinda stand out
you met iwaizumi because of him and it’s also because of iwaizumi  that you found out oikawa pushes himself too hard
so you do an accumulation of small things to remind oikwaa to take care of himself
that he can’t become the best if he doesn’t
you become one of the special people in his life, and he doesn’t have a lot of special people either
but then he’s like shit
you’re a different kind of special
so he spends a little bit more time with you because, as he says it, “it’s either i hang out with you, or i overwork myself practicing. and i don’t want to hang out with iwa-chan cus he’s just mean”
i mean it makes sense though and maybe you want to think it’s cus he likes you but you don’t want to bet on that. don’t want your heart broke
but it’s on one of the nights that you guys are hanging out, doing something simple maybe just hanging in his room and he’s watching some volleyball games while you’re practicing some sketches in your sketchbook
he becomes ever so slightly more vulnerable with you
talks about his plans for the future after high school
and to his surprise you’re supportive
even if it means he might be leaving the country
and he impulsively confesses
which kinda surprises you but it works well
but you easily reciprocate said feelings and even when the relationship becomes long distance, it works because you both want it to.
hnngn okay i dont knwo where im going with this anymore LMAO
Tumblr media
For BNHA: I ship you with midoriya izuku! and I know I know it’s kinda funny to me too that it’s like oikawa in one and then midoriya in the other BUT I THINK IT WORKS.
Tumblr media
why you two work well!!
Deku’s always one to learn about the people around him, ways he can implement how other heroes fight to how he can fight. Deku’s just extremely smart and has to be extremely creative in order to fight using methods from heroes with starkly different quirks from himself. I feel like the two of you would end up talking about what the two of you learned, learning more things from each other, and be able to bounce back and forth. Though, since you are on the more shyer side and Midoriya’s kinda awkward I think once you guys get past that level of awkwardness and you btoh realize how much you have in common you guys become fast friends!
how you got together
so you’re probably in the support department in the same class as Mei Hatsume, 1-H
Although Mei is the one Midoriya had gone to for outfit changes, you were always there and had given more tips as well
Actually, when Midoriya goes back to thank Hatsume for a particularly helpful change on his uniform, Hatsume tells him to thank you instead!
he’s awkward about it but it kinda cute tho ya know
i also think midoriya ends up rambling about other ideas he has for his outfit
you’re sure to give him your two cents but then it ends up being sorta the two of you rambling and bouncing ideas back and forth!
it’s really cute
Hatsume ships it so she does what she can to make sure Midoriya goes to you for uniform repairs/changes from now on
you somettimes eat lunch with him! which means you meet other 1A students
All the 1A girls LOVE you because finally more GIRLS
M*neta tries to make a move on you but the girls are sure to protect you
cue m*neta wondering how Midoriya has a cute girl talking to him
god i hate him stupid diaper baby bleh
anYWAY i think it’s one of those relationships that go from friends to lovers sorta thing
it’s gradual
not sudden
and the two of you sort of ease into a relationship without realizing?
but midoriya gets so flustered when you guys do ease into it
you’re gonna have to be straightforward with him
he definitely causes you a lot of stress and worries
but dont worry! he’ll stay alive if it means he gets to see you again!!

For the high school AU, how about Sanvers celebrating some kind of milestone in their relationship (6 month anniversary, etc.) and having a nice date? Ooh, and there's a solar eclipse next week so maybe Maggie and Alex can do something special together since Alex loves Astonomy.
Sanvers High School AU Part 11 - Posted on AO3 as well
A/N: This one jumped the queue because timeliness. So enjoy and remember, if you’re going to look up at the eclipse, make sure you’re wearing certified glasses! And excuse any mistakes on California geography…I had to make some guesses about where Midvale might be.
A/N 2: This exists in the same high school AU universe as all of the rest, save for the party ones, but we’re jumping forward a bit in time to the summer after graduation (last we saw these two, they were checking out colleges together in Chapters 64 and 68). Since they got together pretty early in the school year, they’re closer to a year than any kind of 6 month anniversary, but we’ll have them celebrating their last week together before leaving for college.
Chapter Text
“And you’ll be safe?” Eliza asked, looking sternly at Alex.
“Yes, Mom,” Alex promised for what felt like the twentieth time that day. “It’s only going to be for one night.”
“You know I have to worry; it’s my job.”
“I know,” Alex finally relented. “But I promise, we’ll be back tomorrow night. And we’re only a couple of hours away if you need anything.”
“And you’ll watch out for your sister?”
“I’m perfectly capable,” Kara announced, bounding down the stairs and landing next to Alex, her duffel bag already packed and ready.
“I know, dear,” Eliza sighed. “Now when are James and Maggie getting here?”
As if on cue, a loud knock on the door echoed through the living room. “I’ll get it!” Kara yelled, bounding to the door and swinging it open to reveal Maggie and James standing together with matching grins.
“Hey, Little Danvers,” Maggie waved, stepping inside as James gave Kara a kiss hello. “Good morning, Eliza!”
“Good morning, Maggie. Are you all packed and ready?”
“Yep, our backpacks and camping gear are already loaded in James’ car,” Maggie answered, reaching out to help Alex carry her things out as well.
Once they got everything packed into the trunk and after one more round of goodbyes and promises to be safe to Eliza, they were off. Alex didn’t even fight Kara for shotgun, content to snuggle with Maggie in the backseat, even if it meant Kara got to control the music for the entirety of the trip.
“So, how excited are you for the eclipse tonight?” James asked, looking in the rearview mirror at Alex, their resident astronomy nerd.
“Very,” Alex answered. “I mean, it’d be cooler if Mom would have let us go up to Oregon to be in the path of totality, but at least we’re getting out far enough away from the light pollution of the cities and towns that it should seem pretty dark.”
“You leave for Stanford this week, Alex,” Kara reminded her sister, craning back to look at her.
“Yes, and I’m already packed.”
“Still, I’m sure she just wants to spend time with you,” Maggie chimed in. “Plus, now you have all that extra time to help me pack.”
“Ugh, fine,” Alex relented, sighing dramatically, even though she knew that Maggie’s aunt was working extra shifts that week to be able to take time off to drive Maggie up to National City University to help her move into the honors dorms and go to the Parent’s Weekend events, which meant that she and Maggie would probably do a lot more making out than packing.
“So, Alex was telling me this is the first time this has happened since the 70s,” Kara told James.
“1979,” Alex chimed in from the backseat, though she sat back, knowing she had already told them all pretty much everything she knew.
“Mhm,” Kara nodded. “And did we all remember our glasses?”
“I’ve got ours packed,” Alex told Maggie. “And I gave you yours,” she said, looking at Kara.
“I know, I’ve got them,” Kara said.
“And I’ve got mine,” James noted. “Now, do we want to play some games to pass the journey?”
Two hours of carpool karaoke, I Spy, 20 Questions, and a rather limited round of Truth or Dare later, they got to the campsite and quickly made their way to the space they had reserved at the top of the hill, right in the middle of one of the larger clearings—a space Alex assured them she had pre-vetted and would be perfect for their late afternoon viewing time for the eclipse.
“Do we race for setting up the tents?” Kara asked, arching an eyebrow in challenge at Alex.
“May the best couple win,” Alex added, offering her hand out in a bet to Kara, even as both James and Maggie shook their heads and rolled their eyes. “And no cheating, Kara,” Alex added, looking pointedly at her sister, who shook her head; she knew to be careful about using her powers out in public.
But, once the games began, neither Maggie nor James was willing to lose, so they all took off, quickly claiming their spots as they got to work on the tents.
“Pole!” Alex yelled, holding out a hand as Maggie fumbled in their bag.
“Base first!” Kara yelled to James, who had started trying to build the frame.
“I don’t know why this stupid stake won’t go into the ground,” Maggie grumbled, trying to put all of her weight into her effort and getting nowhere.
“You might have hit a root system,” Alex suggested, feeling rather proud of herself for not snapping, even if it did look like Kara and James might win. “Here, let me help.”
“Thanks,” Maggie muttered, wiping the sweat off her forehead and the back of her neck as she stepped back to let Alex take over. She had intended to start working on the frame while Alex got the stakes into the ground, but then Alex looked so good—her muscles being put to work as she got a little sweaty.
“Want a hand? Need someone to spot you?” Maggie flirted, her hands wrapping around Alex’s waist.
Clearing her throat, Alex turned around in Maggie’s arms. “If you want somewhere to do anything tonight, you’ll get your butt in gear and help me win this bet.”
“Roger that,” Maggie sighed, turning back to the bag of equipment that would theoretically create their dwelling for the night.
After another half hour or so, Kara gleefully called out, “We win!”
“Ugh, whatever, if we didn’t have trouble with the stakes, we totally would have won,” Alex grumbled, working with Maggie to secure the last of their anchors.
“At least it was a respectable second, Danvers,” Maggie tried comforting Alex, patting her shoulder.
“Yeah, yeah, second out of two. Now let’s get everything in our tents so we’re all ready in plenty of time for the eclipse.”
“Wow,” Maggie sighed, relaxing into Alex’s chest as they both watched the moon slowly slide in front of the sun, blocking out all but a small sliver of it as a premature night fell on the campground.
“Thanks for being here,” Alex whispered as she hugged Maggie closer. As amazing as the experience would have been no matter what, it felt that much better to be seeing it with Maggie in her arms.
“Wouldn’t miss it, Danvers.”
And they were both too wrapped up in each other, in the moment, to notice Kara making silent “aww” noises and pointing at them until James finally got the hint and snapped a few pictures of them in addition to the eclipse.
Alex insisted on sitting through the whole experience, even as the sun gradually reemerged—only to set what felt like moments later—while Kara and James eventually got up to go find a few more good sticks to get the fire going again.
“You two lovebirds ready to help make dinner?” Kara called from the fire she and James had finally got going.
“Yeah, yeah,” Alex called back, kissing Maggie’s cheek before finally dragging herself up and stretching. “What’s for dinner?”
“Hot dogs – and don’t worry, we got plenty of veggie ones for you, Maggie,” Kara answered, beaming at Maggie.
“Could I get one of those too?” Alex asked.
“Really?” James laughed, never knowing Alex to choose the vegan option unless Maggie had cooked for her.
“I don’t need food poisoning,” Alex shuddered, earning a glare from Kara and a knowing laugh from James.
“I suppose we don’t all have Kara’s stomach of steel,” he mused.
“You’re all just jealous,” Kara huffed, helping James to get the hot dogs set up on their small campfire grill.
While Kara and James took care of cooking the hot dogs, Maggie helped Alex to mix up a pitcher of lemonade and find a few good sticks for cooking their (vegan) marshmallows later.
While they sat around the campfire roasting marshmallows, the conversation shifted from the scary stories they’d been telling (much to Kara’s disappointment) to the three seniors’ discussing the classes they’d signed up for, the dorms they’d been assigned to, their future roommates, and their fears about college. Knowing how close Alex would be made the conversation a bit easier on Kara, though she was still sad thinking about how lonely Midvale High would feel the following year without all of them, especially with James flying all the way across the country to go to school in Metropolis.
“So, what class are you most excited about and which one are you dreading?” James asked the group, knowing that Kara also had a bit of flexibility in her schedule as an upperclassman.
“I’m really excited about my journalism elective with Ms. Grant,” Kara offered.
“With your big teacher crush, you mean,” Alex teased.
“Whatever,” Kara huffed. “And I’m not looking forward to…hmm…oh, my math class. I hear Mr. Lauren is so boring.”
“Ugh, he really is,” James sighed, feeling himself getting sleepy at the memory. “I actually got into an elective on newsroom ethics that they’re offering in light of, well, you know, everything going on. I think it’ll be great!”
“Mhm, one day you’re totally gonna win the Pulitzer or something,” Kara gushed, letting her head drop to James’ shoulder.
Chuckling, James just shook his head. “It’s sweet that you believe in me, but let’s not get too excited just yet.”
“Whatever, you’ll see,” Kara teased. “Now what are you dreading?”
“I’m taking an international relations course with a professor who’s apparently pretty awful,” James sighed. “Hopefully the readings will be interesting enough to make up for it. What about you, Alex? Maggie?”
“To be honest, I’m kind of dreading the required gen-chem course. I mean, I like chemistry, but I feel like it’s going to repeat so much of what we did in AP Chem. It’s literally the same textbook. And it’s a huge lecture course that’s just for weeding people out of pre-med.”
“Ugh, I’m sorry,” James commiserated.
“It’s whatever. I’m getting to take an astrobiology seminar that should be amazing enough to make up for it!”
“Very cool!” Maggie exclaimed, loving how enthusiastic Alex got about her classes. “I’m taking this course in the Philosophy Department on the ethics of criminal law that sounds amazing! The professor worked as a prosecutor for a long time and did some pro bono defense work before going back to school for a PhD in Philosophy, and so she apparently has really great insights into it from both sides. And I’m dreading my French class. I’m just not great at learning new languages.”
“You’ve already speak two fluently, though, don’t you?” Kara asked.
“Yeah, but my aunt wants me to have a third,” Maggie explained.
“Oh, okay,” Kara nodded.
After a bit of stargazing, the two couples gradually made their way to the tents for the night. “Want to zip our sleeping bags together?” Alex suggested, not really wanting to be so separated from Maggie just yet.
“Sounds good,” Maggie replied with a grin, helping Alex to get their bags zipped together and giggling as she had to hunch over to change into her pajamas and not hit her head on the tent.
Once they were finally settled, Alex let herself be pulled closer to Maggie. “I’m gonna miss you this year,” Alex finally whispered.
“I’ll miss you too, but we’re not that far away.”
“I know,” Alex admitted. “Still, it’ll be different not to see you everyday, not to eat lunch with you and take classes with you. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m excited about Stanford!”
“I know, I get it,” Maggie assured Alex, her voice soft and low. “I’ll miss you like crazy too. But I think we’re both doing what’s best for us, you know?” And she knew they were. They’d gone over their pro/con lists together, had compared all the different ways it could play out. But at the end of the day, Maggie could go to NCU pretty much for free, and their programs were better suited to her interests, while Alex already had professors at Stanford itching to have her working in their labs, and they did more in the fields she wanted to pursue.
“Yeah, I get that.” After a pause, Alex asked, her voice exceptionally quiet, “You won’t forget me, will you?”
“What? Alex, no, never,” Maggie insisted, propping herself up on her elbows to better look at Alex. “I could never forget you.”
“I mean, you’re going to a brand new place. Maybe you’ll find someone cooler, you know? And that’d be okay. I want you to be happy. But I don’t want to lose you as a friend too.”
“Alex, I love you. And you are my best friend and a huge dork and perfect for me, okay? Plus, you think I don’t worry about all of the brilliant nerds you’re going to find at Stanford?”
“You have no reason to worry, Maggie. You’re smart and driven and beautiful; no one is going to compare.”
“You’re such a sap, Danvers.”
“You started it.”
“Mm, maybe I should finish it too,” Maggie mused, leaning over and letting her lips find Alex’s as they cuddled together, holding each other tightly and letting their lips and hands tenderly map out each other’s bodies until the sun rose.
