can i be honest for a sec? i kind of don’t like the david tennant + catherine tate much ado.
truly just personal preference but i hate the direction of the confession scene, it takes all of the gravity and weight out of the previous scene, hero’s humiliation, claudio’s betrayal, beatrice’s anger…. i understand the intention: love is a funny, embarrassing, human thing! but i also think that the tone shift ends up being so jarring and bizarre and ultimately doesn’t work very well with the themes of the text.
anyways everyone go watch the 2019 shakespeare in the park Much Ado it’s on archive.org and it’s FANTASTIC!

How did you manage to make me fall in love with ava x lilith you write them so tragic and soft😩i was strictly avatrice until i came across your blog
i mean they’re narrative foils they’ve tried (and succeeded in) killing each other. they have power they never asked for and they’re on opposite sides of holiness. but the same.
they understand each other and they don’t. they’re like night chasing daylight and in the end they’re shaped around each other, so necessary to each other.
the scenes they have together are some of my favourites because they feel so helpless. lilith trying to carve into ava’s back and then dying for her, in front of her, blood running from her mouth and ava the last thing she saw, staring up at her.
how they’re both christ-like, the walking dead with wounds that won’t stick and others that refuse to disappear. lilith the photo-negative to ava, her shadow and the monster she created.
that scene in lilith’s house and taking a girl home, pinning her to the wall trying to hold her saying come with me, be selfish, leave your love on the doorstep.
they feel so bound together to me and yeah i think in loving each other they make peace with themselves because they’re so alike. i love the way they dance around each other and how lilith doesn’t treat ava like she’s made of glass and how she learns to be gentle with her because it’s good and it’s love and she can be touched in return with reverence for what she is and not in spite of it

so what are your thoughts on the jojo myth 🗣🤔🎤🎤
I basically rlly like how Araki keeps emphasizing that jjba is a visual story to him, his character designs stand out a lot and his comments on the jojo aesthetic kinda encourage you to read the visual of the joestars and co. as a diegetic element as well i.e. they do not only look eccentric to the reader, but to in-universe characters as well. if you pay attention to the background characters you’ll notice that most do look very normal and I am convincedddd they look at anasui dio etc. and think they look weird as hell because as Araki says, his characters are very very specific people that are bound to their very very specific time and place and it’s kind of impossible to place them outside of their context, which is why I’m not really upset about a LOT of major characters dying, it’s like they exist just to tell this story/be part of a bizarre (😂) story and as soon as that is done? they cease to exist and become part of the myth and thus this eternal past, there simply is no tangible future for a lot of these people they are not intended to be normal people they were doomed from the start because their nucleus is the mythical!!!

Thought of a silly little story of a seer for seeing something horrible but they’re stuck in a time loop. So they have knowledge of a horrible event that is about to take place but time keeps resetting.
And then they slowly start to realize they’re like in the meridian.
I like to think the meridian can affect people differently depending on which level they are on. I think the meridian is filled with different levels right?
If not then just ignore all this and acknowledge my stupidity-
