it’s so weird to think that ryuji was only a major character in one canon game. like he’s such a strong character with such a strong personality it doesn’t feel like he was only prominent in one canon game at ALL. he feels almost as ever-present and beloved as someone like daigo and yet he’s basically never even mentioned after kiwami 2. that’s so crazy to me.

#am I saying bring ryuji back? yes. end of statement #same goes for mine to a slightly lesser degree. and somehow yokoyama agrees with me on both of these I think #I am biased in a way because I am one of the few who has been lucky enough to play dead souls but. yeah #those two are also just good examples of antagonists that are almost comically malicious but still somehow have depth under the surface #and redeemability. in a way. not saying mine bulldozing an orphanage is Forgivable im saying he Did start to have a change of heart at the #end of y3 so he’s Capable of change and whatnot. and ryuji’s just a bully who takes his feelings out on other people usually physically #like he’s very much a teenage bully in the body of a gigantic adult man.#cause he never had to grow out of that. no one challenged him/his views/etc enough to do so. until the end of yk2 #AND IN DEAD SOULS ITS JUST A FACT THAT HES GROWN AS A PERSON AND MATURED.#it’s somehow a DRASTIC difference in personality from him in yk2 and yet still believable because of how much in his life had to change #and because he is like. the adult version of the previous ryuji. I know ryuji was already 30 in yk2 but you get my point. he wasn’t grown up #not really. (same goes for daigo- they’re such obvious foils for one another it’s so interesting and I wish it was explored more but ANYWAY)#ryuji #yk2 #rambling

I’m about halfway through S3 of Vikings now, and if this season has taught me anything it’s that heterosexual relationships are the devil. There is not a single straight couple having a good time in here rn.

Meanwhile, on count sixty million (give or take) of Athelstan and Ragnar shouting their devotion to one another from every 9th century rooftop they can find, and last I saw they were huddled together at the end of a Dragon boat kicking their feet and giggling about Paris. There really are two layers to this show about Vikings, and one is about Vikings while the other is a slowburn enemy to friends (to lovers?) romcom with enough combined obsessive devotion to make Sherlock and Watson look like casual business associates by comparison.

Oh my god okay so we all remember this part of Hollow Mind, right?

This obviously means that the rest of the grimwalkers, while maybe sharing traits with Caleb, didn’t look as identical to him as Hunter does.

Now I’m no biologist but I have a basic understanding of punnet squares. Our phenotypes are more or less randomly selected during fertilization and they’re passed from parents to kid. And if you have the same parents as your siblings, then you’re more likely to look like them or share traits with them. The only reason you have different traits is because there are so many to choose from and hey, you have brown hair and your sibling has blonde. That’s just how it turned out but you still carry the genes for blonde hair (not a perfect example but we’re also talking about a magical world so whatever)

What if one day Belos was making a new grimwalker. It’s no big deal; He’s done this about a dozen times now. Every single one is looking less and less like him, and Belos is getting increasingly frustrated. He keeps them around because, well, Caleb only had 206 bones and he can only make so many grimwalkers. Might as well manipulate the ones you have, right?

Belos completes the ritual and he stands at the head of the grave as the grimwalker sits up straight from the dirt.

And it’s the striking image of teenage Philip.

He kills that one quickly and doesn’t make another for a while. (Tags)

#why did you kill that one Philip?#is it a reminder that you were not your brothers keeper?#but also just the symbolism of the life you share with your siblings #because you are raised in (mostly) the same environment and more or less share the same trauma and experiences #yet you so often turn out so differently #but there’s still a string that ties you to your beginnings and your past together #and you could have easily switched places #and if Philip could have just as easily taken the path that Caleb had taken #then maybe his mission or he himself is not as pure and holy as he thought #he takes about five business days to think on that one #will I ever stop thinking about the wittebanes? no #sibling storylines just get me #especially when they’re tragic #because if Philip and Caleb had switched places #would Caleb have killed Philip?#i don’t think so and isn’t that what makes it a tragedy?#anyways #the owl house #toh #toh spoilers #wittebanes

composing music for my zelda dnd campaign like how a normal person does

#song of sages #I’ve already written themes for each of my five PCs #plus the first movement or ‘the lost hero’s theme’ which will be a full length composition following link’s story from start to finish #I’ve got bits of the rest of it but those are top secret for spoiler reasons #movement one is ‘link the legendary hero’ and it’s for piano and flute #the sage songs are all gonna have a second part the players will have to learn later #and I WANT to combine them all into one ensemble composition but idk how I’m gonna do that yet #they’re all in the same key but I made them all very different otherwise so they’d feel distinct #maybe I’ll take motifs from each and put them throughout the ensemble piece? idk #meanwhile have I written my plan for session 0 tomorrow? have I made the Map? no lol
