fun fact most, if not all of my ocs are queer as fuck.
olivia is aromantic and has been an ally for years before she realized it! she's also pretty gnc and likes to toy with her gender expressions while staying a cis girl
umaru is a trans man (manfred barred him from transition for years but he speedran all phases of it while studying in europe to be a prosecutor), also he's very much bisexual, see his painful crush on mvk that died in silence and his love for lana skye
hanma is bisexual and is so so so femme that despite her being a cis woman it circles back to being queer as fuck
sean is literally a nonbinary butch lesbian who lived the better half of their life as a trans man idk what else do I need to say here
basil never thought about it and he can be kind of queerphobic because he's not educated about the community but he's basically enemy-sexual (probably pan)
i have a side character I used in two cases called redhead, that's not his actual legal name, but she doesn't reveal her "real" name and introduces himself as just redhead, he's a he/she bigender and I don't even know or establish what her agab is because fuck that
if I start going through my aa ocs we'll be here all day so why don't we talk about my completely original characters
in project David like 3/4 out of the main 4 are genderqueer, Glenda is nonbinary and uses they/them (while being nearly fifty years old btw), Louis is a transmasc bigender who uses he/she and visibly appears as a man, not disclosing her "female" side to most people in fear of being seen only as a woman again, and Elis is a trans woman, well, not Exactly a woman but woman is the closest, a nonbinary transfem that uses she/her. and Dan is a bi cis dude (that can change though. my transfem friend sees Dan as an egg)
my collegeverse ocs literally consist of sapphics and an enby god, Loren, a pronoun fluid genderfluid who mostly uses she her and is butch in a fixing cars way, Mag, a lesbian that's been repressed for many many years and finally allows herself to change and let herself be who she is, gaining weight, getting with a girl and changing her gender expression, butch in a suit and tie way; Eve, a pan trans girl and Megumi, her bi girl best friend; and also Arc, an agender person (or is it a person) who uses it/its and may or may not be a deity
god I love queerness.
and yeah over the course of this post I only ever mentioned the queer identities of the characters but some of those characters are marginalized in other ways and that very much intersects, for example Elis is a black trans woman. I'm not adding it on to flaunt how progressive I am for having diverse characters, I'm simply like, aiming to acknowledge that white thin able-bodied queerness isn't the standard and people experience queerness differently based on that

what is your "official" [using that word loosely] review of it?
im gonna assume you're talking about the new monster high movie i mentioned earlier, if you're talking about the horror movie i apologize bc I'm semi stupid, also if you are talking about the horror movie i'll also make a post about that bc i have a lot of thoughts on the IT movies, ALSO I LOVE THIS BC I LOVE REVIEWS SO MUCH!!! i love ranting about stupid movies and ranting about things in general! feel free to ask any opinion on movies or games!!! now introducing, my VERY shitty review of Monster High: the movie (spoilers i guess) so the story starts with clawdeen, who is a werewolf, going skating, shes wearing a hoodie and stuff to hide that shes a werewolf because she doesnt belong in the human realm or something i cant remember tbh, eventually she bumps into someone and its revealed, whoopsies, she runs off home where we meet her dad (who is a human) and apparently its her 15th birthday or something, she tells her dad that she got accepted to monster high but hes kind of ehhh about it at first bc like they are against humans/half-humans eventually he gives in and she can go, woo meets frankie and draculaura who shes roommates with, meets deuce too bc romance i guess, apparently her mom was like a well respected person at monster high (her moms dead) so principal bloodgood asks her to perform a speech, also has some talk about the school being anti-human and stuff, however clawdeen feels like she belongs at monster high and is kind of nervous bc she's not fully human clawdeen discovers that when shes scared/nervous she begins transforming into a human they have a talk about jekyll and hyde in class at some point, big reveal is that the teacher who taught that class is hyde's son, hates monster high and wants to destroy it and humans because they killed his dad, stuff like that, enough with the bad summary ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ all around the movie was like an average disney channel movie tbh, girl doesn't feel like she belongs anywhere, finally finds a place where she belongs, conflict, stuff like that things i did enjoy were the friendships between frankie, draculaura and clawdeen, i thought it was cute and sweet non-binary frankie was something i also liked a lot! however i am quite sad about no lesbian clawdeen (also about them making her and deuce like each other but we'll get to that) i did like a lot of the outfits actually! frankie had outfits i would totally wear, and draculaura! very goregeous (fuck you Grammarly for correcting) the music wasn't awful, none of the songs stuck with me really but they didn't burn my ears i guess tbh i thought the set looked neat too things i did not enjoy however were the relationship between deuce and clawdeen, they didn't officially start dating or anything but it has been said they like each other, i didn't particularly feel any chemistry between them they fully removed the rest of the wolf family, did not like that some of the makeup was kinda eh but that might just be me being picky, the makeup around deuce's eyes looked very orange, and draculaura's makeup was a bit too toned down for my taste but yet again, might be me being picky ghoulia yelps in this movie- she wasn't a major character, only appeared like a few times however i didn't like that they made her talk, idk just didnt really sit right with me? the villain twist at the end was lame, they have a jekyll/hyde character in the monster high universe???? do jackson and holt mean nothing???? but i saw the twist coming, idk if they wanted us to see it coming but like i saw it idk its 2 am and im rambling, yet again please tell me if im rambling about the wrong movie! maybe i'll actually be well rested then kindly ignore how shitty my reviews are i was mostly spewing out words

beef and barley soup and tortilla soup for the soup asks? :D
Ahhh thanks so much!! These were really fun!
Tortilla Soup: What do you love most about writing?
On a technical note, I most enjoy designing scenes (basically what would be set design in a movie) and writing snappy dialogues, because I'm very good at that :D I also really love working symbolism and metaphors into my writing and playing with tropes, but I think the absolute best thing about writing is reading my stories to my loved ones and see them react. I'm writing to share my stories with the world and it's truly the best part :)
Beef & Barley Soup: A scene that won't make the final cut?
Idk what will happen to the text during the second editing tbh, I've put Verfluchtes Land aside for a while now - but I can tell you about some scenes that didn't make the existing draft as a replacement :D
There used to be a scene between Nadia and Commissioner Gericke in an earlier version, where she offers him (and the reader) a glance into her messy personal life, but despite me liking the scene, I cut it and swapped it with one where she has a heart-to-heart with Alexander because I thought developing an existing character further would serve the story better than introducing a new one into my already big cast of important characters. Also Nadia and Alexander's relationship had been very underdeveloped at that point, so it was a good opportunity. (I still miss Gericke, not gonna lie.)
Another one that had to go which hurt me a lot was the one between Thea and her niece, Johanna. In a very early version of VL, there was a scene where Johanna and Thea tell each other their secret: they are both lesbians and their family members don't know about it. It had to go for pacing reasons and in order to not over-load the plot too much (so many sideplots already!), but it was really heartfelt and sweet. I guess I will put it into the second book, but we'll see.

Introducing DC's 80 page Pride book!!
(yes, I know it's not a full rainbow, I don't have all the colors 😭)
Tumblr media
(DC Pride cover, featuring Jess, Kate, Ivy, Harley, Dreamer, Midnighter, Apollo, the Question and Alan Scott!!!! Not featured but also present are Crush and Pied Piper!!!)
Notably, this marks Dreamer's first time being in the comics (she was first introduced in the Supergirl tv show as a descendant of Dream Girl). Dreamer was the first transgender superhero on tv and I'm very excited that she's here to stay!!! (Also apparently the actor who played Dreamer in the show wrote the story, which????? What the fuck, you go girl, that's awesome!?!? I wish I was that talented)
Tumblr media
(Variant cover for DC Pride featuring the lovely Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, Gotham's resident Bi-cons)
Extremely excited to see Jess again so quickly (pun intended). If you don't know who Jess Chambers is, they're my favorite non-binary Flash and they are absolutely wonderful. (I adore them) I loved their relationship with Aquawoman in Future State (it was one of the only things about Future State that I liked). Unfortunately, that's probably the last we'll see of Jess and Andy together, as Andy is a baby currently (unless they bring in an alternate universe Andy??). But honestly tho, I don't care if Jess is in a relationship or not as long as they are featured in comics.
Tumblr media
(Variant cover of Superman #32, featuring Clark being wholesome af)
Love to see the Gay Dads™ being featured front and center in the Pride anthology. Alan Scott, the absolute legend, just came out to his kids recently and it was beautiful. Hopefully this story includes his lovely children and the JSA, because we love to see them being wholesome together.
Tumblr media
(Variant cover of Nightwing #81 featuring a pole dancing Dick Grayson)
Midnighter and Apollo (the other Gay Dads ™) we haven't seen since DC's last Pride book (cough, cough, do better dc). Hopefully we get confirmation that their daughter still exists post reboot because I'm half expecting dc to pull a Lian Harper and I hate it.
Tumblr media
(Variant cover of Wonder Girl #2, featuring a Yara who is possibly queer?? All signs point to yes but we shall see)
Speaking of gays that we love, I'm incredibly excited for the return of the Pied Piper. The first openly gay man in dc, Hartley used to be a main character in the Flash series. Best friends with Wally West, Hartley stopped showing up in comics the same time he did. Hopefully now that Wally is the main Flash again Hartley will retake his role as a series regular (and we can finally have Piper's long awaited wedding).
Tumblr media
(Variant cover of Crush & Lobo #1 featuring Crush and Katie....... Please don't break them up dc)
We, of course, have our resident lesbians, Renee and Kate. The Question and Batwoman, back at it again with that gay shit. You love to see it. We also have Crush joining the ranks with her girlfriend Katie (it is unclear at this time what Crush and Katie's orientations are but I think it's fairly safe to add em to the wlw catagory).
Tumblr media
(Variant cover of Harley Quinn #4, featuring.... oh, who am I kidding? They don't need an introduction)
You know em, you love em, Gotham City's resident Bi-cons are out here stealing the show. Excited to see their relationship front and center!! It's not often bisexual characters are allowed to even acknowledge their bisexuality (looking at you Wonder Woman and John Constantine). This is a nice change of pace!
(Ps, guys please let me know how to do more than like five colors on tumblr....)

"Please tell me you're not wearing that."
Elayn looked down, then back up with a wide grin. She tugged at her bright rainbow suspenders with her thumbs. "What, not tacky enough?"
Serana gave the ensemble another slow scan. "No, it's… definitely tacky. The combat boots with the khaki shorts is a nice touch."
The grin got wider as she stuffed her hands into her pockets. "They're going to be throwing candy, and I wasn't anywhere near prepared enough last time."
Serana rolled her eyes, but softened it with a smile. "You're ridiculous."
"Isn't that why we're dating?" her girlfriend asked as they headed out the door.
She took a moment to lock up while Serana laughed. "'Careless Whisper' on a boom box outside my window. I can't believe my dad didn't kill you. I know you stole that, by the way. We both went to see that movie when it came out."
"They marketed it as a romcom!" Elayn protested.
They were in the car now. It would be a trick to find parking, but they were running early thanks to Serana's habit of scheduling everything. Elayn was more the type to go with the flow, but living together had her adapted enough that the flow she went with was largely dictated by Serana's schedule. As a research chemist, she worked interesting hours at times, but Elayn was a good roommate, she cooked and cleaned, mostly because she had the time. Lacrosse wasn't a well paying sport compared to something like soccer, but the off seasons gave her plenty of time to maintain their loft.
"Five dollars an hour?" Elayn griped as the machine printed out their ticket.
"Homophobia strikes again," Serana said with mock solemnity.
She snorted and wrapped an arm around her girlfriend's waste. "Which park did you say this thing started in again?"
It was a little place surrounded by tall buildings, but it was a green patch in a city largely made out of grey. It being Pride Month, the grey was broken up by rainbows. The two wandered around as they waited for the parade to start.
Well, at least, they started to wander when Elayn caught sight of a dog and all but dragged her girlfriend over to say hi.
"What's his name?" she asked, so full of enthusiasm she practically floated. "Can I pet him?"
The dog's owner, someone with a short haircut in a crop top that was orange, yellow, and white striped, nodded. "If he lets you. Sometimes he's not so-- oh gosh," they said, eyes wide as they watched Elayn kneel down and offer a hand to sniff that was immediately accepted. "You must have good vibes."
"She's a dog person," Serana said with a laugh as the dog put its front paws on Elayn's shoulders so he could lick her face.
"What's his name?" she asked through slobbery kisses.
The butch grinned. "That's Duke, I'm Cas. It's nice to meet you!"
The two introduced themselves just in time for a volunteer to come up with bottles of water. "Our city got voted best water in the state," she said cheerfully. "Take a few, it's gonna be a hot one."
Before the march, there were speeches. The first was an introduction to the city's first pride parade since the 80s. The second was from a drag queen inviting everyone to the show later that night. Finally, the speeches were closed by an Episcopalian pastor trying to make up for the rest of Christianity's sins.
"It's starting!" Elayn said excitedly when the crowd started to funnel out of the park.
The march went down the sidewalk for a few blocks. Traffic was halted and the waiting cars honked while passengers waved. Elayn waved a lesbian flag, Serana had a bi flag, and the two of them dragged a rainbow striped cooler.
"Mom! Mom!" Elayn heard behind her. "Look, it's two cicadas going at it!"
She glanced behind her. There was a set of twins, about twelve years old, one of them draped in a trans flag and holding the cicadas that were indeed trying to reproduce. Elayn snorted and hit herself in the face trying to keep a laugh contained. "You like bugs, huh?"
The girl in the trans flag beamed. "They're my favorite! Well, except for tarantulas, but Mom won't let me have one."
"The rabbit gets out of its cage enough." The way the girl's mom said it, this was an age old argument. "I don't want to squash it when it ends up in my shoe."
"I had a snake when I was growing up," Serana chimed in. "A corn snake that never got out."
The twins turned out to be part of a family unit. One twin was trans, and their older brother was too, and as Elayn found soon, was very excited to start HRT. "Get a Gc2b binder," she said. "When I'm feeling like a flat day, it works really well."
The boy, a younger fourteen, practically floated with excitement. "I will!"
Serana chatted with the parents while Elayn occupied the kids. "Have you folks been to Pride before?"
Their mom, a woman named Chelsea, shook her head. "Nope, both kids came out last September and they've been talking about the festival ever since."
"You seem like really supportive parents," Serana said. It carried the weight of one speaking who has not had contact with their parents since high school.
Chelsea could tell, and she opened her arms for a hug that Serana was more than happy to accept.
The march was only about a mile long, and it ended in another park. Elayn craned her neck and said, "I think I see the beer line, wait here?"
"We will!" said the girl, who was very proud to be named Luna now.
Serana and Chelsea shared a grin. "I guess we'll wait here," the mom said.
It was a bit of a line, which was probably not a good thing, but apparently people were restricted on how many drinks they could buy, so at least there was that. While Elayn waited, she was joined by two people wearing pronoun pins that said "she/her".
Elayn's jaw dropped at the sight of one of the girls' dress, which was a flowing, fae like ensemble. "Holy shit!" she said. "You look amazing!"
She blushed and ducked her head as she smiled. "Thank you, I got it from Amazon."
"It's her first Pride," her friend added.
That just amazed Elayn more. "With the sparkles and the green eyeshadow, I wouldn't have guessed. Everything you've got going on is just amazing."
"Thank you!" she squeaked.
Elayn wasn't alone in thinking the dress was gorgeous. Another person came up to compliment it, and they had such dope tattoos that Elayn could not help but comment.
"The guy that did them is great," they gushed. "He does blacklight work too!"
So she got a website saved on her phone for the next time she really wanted to get a tattoo on top of the three she already had; scrollwork on her bicep, a wolf on her shoulder blade, and a small date on her wrist that was the day she met Serana.
When she got back to her girlfriend and the others, an IPA in hand that was frankly piss, she told them about the girl in the fae dress.
"I saw her!" Serana exclaimed.
"Amazon."
"No way."
Next was food, especially if she was going to drink a beer. Assuming she actually drank it. "There's some food trucks," she pointed out. "I could go for a corndog."
"I'm going to get some mac and cheese," Serana said.
"Mom! Mom!" Luna's twin brother, Ian, tugged at his mom's sleeve. "Can we get pretzels?"
Chelsea sighed good-naturedly. "I suppose. Do you two want to meet up after?"
"Over by the stage?" Elayn suggested.
The group separated. She found the line for corndogs and funnel cake. While she was waiting, the woman ahead of her glanced her way, so Elayn said, "Howdy!"
"Hey there, hun!" She clapped her on the shoulder. "Having a good time?"
"I am," she said with a grin. "Everyone here is so nice. There were some moms back there handing out hugs!"
"Well, I'm a mom, would you like a hug?"
"I would love that."
It was a lovely hug, the woman was warm and smelled floral. When they separated, she said, "I'm Elayn! It's good to meet you. Can I get you a corndog?"
As she pulled out her wallet, the woman waved her money away. "It's Nessa, and actually, I'd like to buy you a corndog."
"You don't have to--"
Nessa laughed. "I miss my daughters, you'd be doing me a favor."
They chatted while the line went down, about lacrosse and about university. It turned out Nessa's two daughters went off to college in other cities, so it had been a while since she saw either. "I had a son," she said. "But now I have a very happy daughter, and I'm so proud of her."
"I wish I had a mom like you," Elayn said, thinking about growing up foster care.
Nessa grabbed her in another hug. "Now you do!"
When she got back to Serana and the others, they were listening to the music booming from the speakers. She had to yell to tell the group about her new mom.
Chelsea looked a little sad, because she could connect the dots, but Luna and Ian were too busy freaking out over the cotton candy Nessa had bought her too.
Not long after, the stage was occupied. Elayn was chatting with Luna with her back turned, so she missed it until Serana tapped her shoulder and turned her around.
"Holy shit!" She hollered and clapped at the sight of a gorgeous, sequin clad drag queen in four inch heels doing a backflip off the stage and onto grass. "Holy shit!"
As it turned out, the drag queens took tips, and it was at that point that Elayn knew she was about to spend a lot of money. Each queen that performed, and there were many, got a five in exchange for the sheer joy Elayn got when the queen before her touched her hand.
When there was a break in the performances, she went back to Serana, who had a smirk on her face. "Should I be jealous?"
Elayn cupped her face, and in a fit of sheer enthusiasm, kissed her girlfriend soundly, to the delight of the twins who hooted. "Don't worry, babe," she teased. "You're the only queen for me."
"Flatterer." Serana swatted at her chest, but the smile on her face was pleased regardless.
It was all a blur from there. Fair food, loud music-- and Elayn found beer that wasn't piss! She taught the twins a new vocabulary of cuss words the moment she found out their mom was fine with foul language. They parted around five in the afternoon, when a voice through a megaphone warned attendants that the festival was about to start catering to adults. There was a concert with more drag queens, this time in much more risqué outfits that Elayn would have given a kidney to see on Serana.
When she said something, her girlfriend got a light in her eye. "Really now?" she purred. "Maybe for your birthday."
By 11pm, Elayn was high on the party atmosphere and a few beers. The festival was over, and the walk back to their car would be a trick. "Did you have fun?" she asked Serana as they walked hand in hand.
She got a kiss on the cheek. "I'm so glad I have you. When are we getting married?"
"When I figure out how to surprise you with a ring."

Trouble (pt.2) || M.YJ
Pairing : Min Yoonji X Reader
Genre : fluff
Summary : Now that Yoonji had gotten introduced to you, she wanted to know you. Are you really as bad as people had told her?
Wordcount : 1.5k lol
Pt.1 || Masterlist
[ A/N : The fanart ain't mine, randomly stole it from Pinterest lol.]
Tumblr media
" I heard you cause trouble." Yoonji says as she sits down in front of the girl who's caught her eye.
You look up from your phone with a questionable look in your eyes.
" And who are you exactly?" You ask her, no undertone of politeness.
Yoonji blushes in embarrassment, having forgotten to introduce herself due to wanting to know you.
" Sorry, my names Yoonji." She tells you.
You smirk cheekily at her.
" Nice to know the pretty girl has a name. I'm Y/N by the way. And to response to your assumption earlier, do you believe them?" You ask her, holding strong eye contact as you ask her.
Yoonji shrugs her shoulder, a small smile making it's way to her own face.
" I don't know, haven't decided yet." She answers you honestly.
There's a small glint in your eyes which could mean you're surprised by her answer, but if you are, you don't really show it.
" Yah, Yoonji, break almost ended, let's go back to our lessons."
Yoonji groans in displeasure of the appearance of her twin brother. Of course he's always there to interrupt her moment with hot girls, ( who are most probably not gay, but it's worth a try anyway.)
She sighs dramatically, making her twin roll his eyes before greeting you.
" See you around I geuss?" She smiles at you one last time before attempting to leave.
She gnaws on her lip for a moment as she glances at you when she's stood in front of the table the two of you are seated at, lowkey wanting to ask for your number but not having the guts for it.
" Yoonji." You softly call out to her as you too leave your seat.
She turns to look at you.
" You free tonight?" You ask her.
She nods enthusiastically, hoping you're asking to hang out at last.
" Good, dress casual. I'll pick you up at 7." You smile at her with a lopsided smile as you push a piece of paper into her hand before turning around and leaving.
Yoonji stares at you with admiration shining in her eyes as you leave the room, still not believing what just happened. She smiles like a giddy school girl before looking at the small piece of paper in her hand.
( Your Phone Number Xx) - Don't forget to text me sweetheart ;)
-
And so Yoonji is stood in front of her mirror later that afternoon, her room a mess as she's trying to pick out the perfect clothes for her first ever date.
Being lesbian had made it difficult for her to find a girlfriend who she could go on dates with. Until today she was actually starting to believe that she was the only lesbian around. She's tried out online dating too, but she just couldn't find the physical affection she needed. She really hoped that this date would work out.
" Yah, fatass, did you steal my charger agai- You going somewhere?" Yoongi cuts himself off as he sees his sister dressed up for once.
The twins look at each other awkwardly for a few moments before Yoonji finally breaks it.
" Close the door behind you and I'll tell you." She tells him in a hushed tone.
He knew she was a lesbian, but their parents didn't.
And so Yoongi does as asked, crossing his arms afterwards and waiting for an explanation.
" I have a date." Yoonji smiles excitedly as she smiles at him.
Yoongi nods, actually happy for his sister, tough he doesn't show her in his facial expression. It doesn't matter tough, she knows her brother well enough to know that he's happy for her.
Instead of saying anything, he checks out her outfit.
" What do you think?" She ask him.
He cocks his head to the side before answering.
" Too short." He tells her before rummaging trough the mess of clothes on her floor.
" What? No it isn't. I tough it's cute." Yoonji looks puzzled as she looks at herself trough the mirror again.
The black with pink printed crop top looks fine, even if she raises her arms all the way nothing is revealed, her skirt is admittedly on the short side, but not too bad unless she bends over all the way, plus she's wearing a pair of shorts underneath anyway.
" Here this is better." Yoongi grins as he holds up a huge sweater against her.
She huffs and swats it away.
" Oh c'mon. My baby sister is growing up, I can't allow that." Yoongi fakes a pout.
" I'm older." She huffs.
" Yeah, yeah, whatever. Just don't let her break your heart." He tells her softly before pulling her into a hug.
" I'll be fine." She giggles.
They talk a little more before the doorbell rings, and Yoonji almost yeets to the door, not having expected that you'd actually ring the bell, thinking that you'd call her that you would call once you were in front of her door.
She runs downstairs, hoping to beat her parents to the door, however, she failed, and she only hopes that you're not mentioning the word 'date' to her parents.
" Yoonji, I think you forgot to mention to that you'd go out with a friend tonight. I assume the two of you will just grab something out to eat?" Yoonji's father asks her.
She opens her mouth to answer, but you beat her to it.
" We will sir, tough we might end up talking for a while too, but don't worry I'll have her home before midnight." You smile.
Yoonji's parents smiles at you, and Yoonji herself is only too happy by the sight.
" Don't you think she'd make a good girlfriend for Yoongi-"
" Alright mom, dad, we'll be going now." Yoonji cuts off her parents hurriedly as she leaves the house quickly, taking you with her by wrist.
She hears her parents yell out greetings before closing the door.
" I'm sorry about that." She mumbles as she lets go of your wrist, avoiding your eyes.
" You didn't come out yet?" You ask her softly.
She shakes her head wordlessly, and you nod in response.
" Okay, well, let's go." You cheer as you motion for her to follow.
She's relieved you don't pry, but concerned when you walk in the opposite direction of town.
" Where are you going? Town is that way." She tells you.
You look confused for a moment behead smiling and shaking your head.
You don't say anything as you take her hand and instead lead her to an old black and yellow lined Hyundai Azera first model. You suprise her by taking out your keys and unlocking it by inserting the key.
" My lady'." You smile as you open the passenger door for her.
She wordlessly steps in, you shutting the door behind her and walking over to the driver's side.
"Sorry that my car's this old and cranky by the way." You smile embaressedly as you close the door behind you.
Yoonji smiles at you and shakes her head.
" Don't worry about it, your car looks fine. I don't know a lot of people our age who own a car anyway." She tells you.
" I work at a car garage, this one came in all beat up, the owner left it to be brought to a dump, I was allowed to fix it up as long as I bought the stuff with my own money." You tell her proudly, starting up the engine.
" That's really cool. Can I ask you a question?" She wonders out loud.
" How did you come out to your parents?" She asks curiously.
You swallow and your eyes harden, making her worry that you asked the wrong question.
" My parents are not with me, let's just say." You tell her, your eyes focusing on the road.
" Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pry." She says guiltily.
You shake your head, not saying anything as you start to speed off.
The next moments are in tense silence, until you break it.
" So, I know the first date is supposed to be fancy and stuff, but I hope you don't mind Mackey D's for our first date." You smile at her shortly.
She laughs, not at all minding.
" It's okay, I don't mind. Anywhere is fine as long it's with you." She says with a smile before turning red, did she really just say that out loud?
You've turned a soft pink too, and a laugh leaves your throat at her answer.
" Damn, you're adorable. And don't worry, I'll take you out on a proper date after this one." You smile widely.
She turns pink in response.
[ A/N : Someone tell me they like it, and I might make a pt.3 lol]

is justifiably horrified at the prospect of aliens being forced out of hiding by said device
writes a scathing, biased article that is basically an op ed
her editor rejects it because it isn’t good journalism, reminds her that journalists need to put their own personal feelings aside and report the facts. if the facts are horrible and racist, that should speak for itself, they shouldn’t need the journalist to add their own spin to it
kara is upset that she can’t treat the magazine like her blog
kara is confronted by an alien from a planet she hates, she remembers that she’s actually racist and that maybe being racist isn’t so bad
she rewrites the article to be less scathing, not because she realized that the facts should speak for themselves and that she, as a journalist, shouldn’t be attaching her own personal feelings to her reporting, but instead because she just changed her personal feelings about the matter at hand
she talks to lena luthor again to tell her that now she understands that it’s totally reasonable to give people the power to force aliens to reveal their identity because some aliens are dangerous
again, she changed her mind about this because she is racist, and yet this is framed as her becoming more open minded somehow?
lena explains that “some people are just bad” which is supposed to reveal something about her character but given the context of the conversation translates to “some aliens are just bad and there’s nothing you can do about that so fuck all of em I guess”
kara vaguely disagrees i think but maybe not who fucking knows at this point
turns out the alien from the planet she hates isn’t bad and will probably be her next love interest so that’s good
the big bad for this episode is in fact a totally different alien who was hiding in plain sight and who hates the idea of aliens being given amnesty because it’s just the governments way of forcing the aliens to come out of hiding so that they can be controlled
“But no!!!” the show insists “it’s in good faith!!!! they only need to control bad aliens like you!!!”
therefore humans deserve to be allowed to force aliens out of hiding because some aliens are bad and only bad aliens would want to hide anyway
everything about this is so fucking lazy and horrible and it’s not even malicious, it’s just stupid. i’m sure the writers weren’t trying to send this message, they just did it on accident because they’re not very good writers and talking about this kind of stuff takes a lot of care and thought and apparently they want all the props of tackling a difficult issue without having to actually put in the work and THAT is what pisses me off

Marlene: You have to start thinking punk rock, babe Ali: I am not pissing into a supersoaker Ali: not dying to prove my aim is as good as a man's like Ali: you do you, babe but I'll leave it at good old fashioned water Marlene: Now who's deserving the boos and jeers Marlene: So regal of you Ali: what can i say? my idea of a good time isn't pissing on my own hands Ali: crazy, i know 😉 Marlene: How true my love is Marlene: Any time's a good time with my baby Ali: 💙 Ali: forreal tho, what are we doing this weekend Marlene: There are a few parties Ali: where Ali: i wanna go as far away as poss Marlene: They're local, usual suspects Marlene: We can do something else Ali: Think of something better, yeah Ali: I'm sick of the locals at the mo Marlene: I'll come back to you with a plan Ali: 💋 Ali: that's my girl Marlene: What am I good for if I can't take you away from this shithole?
